ZUK2 and ZUK2Plus Section - Lenovo Zuk Z2 Pro Questions & Answers

i recently bought a Z2Pro 2121. This Thread should be only for Z2Pro.
I recognzied that the ZUK2 and ZUK2 Plus Owners post here but that makes it too much weird, so i suggest to open a new undersection for ZUK2 , ZUK2 Plus so that there is a clear separation between these two different devices.
Hope thats ok and the ZUK2 gets his own section.
ZUK2Pro there are just few ROMS atm and hope that a true multilingual CM version will be portet soon
Best regards and hope i didnt say something"wrong"

why not try this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/zuk-z2-pro/help/zuk-z2pro-android-7-version-t3510637/page2
that helped a lot.- You aint able to do the bootloader unlock in developer options in the menue. but if u install that TWRP by emmaus and follow the steps you read in this thread i hope for you, that you can succeed to get rid of that "problem". remember that a" Smartphone" is nothin more than a simple USB drive with a little pc on top. the BIOS is diffrent from devioce to device but lenovo helped the users by providing the code and the nececassary boot loader unblock by email dn if u install afterwards the emmaus twrp u can have the root and install the aicp rom itz ok and you can modify many thiongs then. and if u are bolt and a little experimentive you might geht cm 14.x but thats a chinese rom and i would suggest you the AICP it works fine and stabile . although i can use the homebutton feature like in the factory rom. but thats no big matter and someday an upgrade will make it happen. the AICp is very cool :good:

I agree with rage2008.
These pages are for Z2 pro
NOT Z2 OR Z2 PLUS.
This mix up is killing the forum!
A lot of questions get the wrong answer because of that.
Who can open a section for Z2 plus so that they have their own discussions??

[Q] MIUI v5 or v6 rom for Z3c

Hi there! I'm just re-buying this phone because of the method to re-activate the features lost during the UL process also mantaining root.
Do you think there is any chance to port some MIUI v5 or v6 rom for this awesome phone?
In Z1 compact room there is a working version, here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/sony-xperia-z1-compact/development/d5503-miui-v5-t2866321
It would be fantastic for MIUI fans like me!
I'm not a developer, but I really want to make this porting.
So, if someone wants it, feel free to help me in this work.
We can start from the working Z1c porting.
Basically those phones are equal, except for the snap 801 instead of the snap 800 and some other little stuff.
I'm MIUI fan too.
I tried to port Z1C MIUI rom. Unsuccessfully. I don't have enough knowledge.

it's always a try!
I'm looking for this:

do you think it is possible?
Any variants are possible.
may not be a short period of time i think

I know, but if you think that the porting for Z2 is already done it's just time to pack a patch to change the little hw differences between Z2 and Z3c. Just res, so dpi in systemUI and some other stuff like the cpu clock speed.
An user, @Lorenzoval , has made a patch to port original Z1 miui to Z1 compact. I tried it, some months ago, and it worked fine.
I need just to learn how to do this.

I don't own this device so I can't help a lot.
I think porting from Z2 will be easier than from Z1C so I suggest you to download Z2 MIUI ROM from MIUI site.
You can try to replace boot.img (or kernel.elf), system/lib/modules, system/etc/acdbdata, system/etc/firmware and system/vendor/camera with the ones from Z3C stock ROM. Also you might have to add libcammw.so in system/lib.
If the ROM from Z2 is not working on locked bootloaders you can try to add an init.d script (called 00shelld) like this:
Code:
#!/system/bin/sh
/system/xbin/shelld &
or to diff MIUI ramdisk with a stock one and to change the ramdisk of your phone. You also have to change your build.prop to be more suitable for a MIUI ROM and then you have to replace it. Note that if you add new files to a flashable.zip you also have to edit updater-script in order to set right permissions. MIUI market is considered warez because from this app you can download paid software for free so if you want to share your ROM on this forum you have to remove it.
I think that's all and I wish you can get a booting ROM.
Good Luck! :highfive:
Wish also that somebody with the right competences can port a miui rom to the z3c

I have no more my phone for a while, because of the warranty (problem with battery).
But however i'll try to make this rom.
I have little idea. Need to ask Chinese authors of Z's MIUI roms. They named EXR group.

Micromax Canvas Android One [Custom Rom Reviews,Pros And Cons]

Hello guys,i"m here for the review of beanstalk rom.
The rom runs on android marshmallow 6.0.1 [dec 1,2016 security patch]
its based on many roms but its main contributor is cyanogen.
Now lets talk about the pros and cons
pros:
1.runs on marshmallow latest.
2.best battery performer till now compared to other android m based roms.
3.has root option in the developers option.
4.all cm themes runs without any lags.
5.stock android experience and quite fast.
6.the fastest camera capture in this rom than any other.
7.storage is good but we can accept this much in 4GB
internal storage devices.
These are the pros now cons
cons:
1.you have to use banks gapps no other gapps will work if u install any other than your phone will stuck on bootanimation.
2.except bootanimation.zip no other zips can be installed like supersu.zip if u try then again it will stuck on boot.
3.front camera function in the roms camera app sometimes never work even after rebooting ur device.
4.the developer of this rom has named the device name as "**** you".which isnt good when you have a windows 10 pc like i am having once plugged cortana will say "**** you connected ".so i think i should inform it .[it can be changed using buildprop. editor so not a big deal]
5.you should not turn off the developer option if did then no way to get it back even clicking the build number several times which means say bye to root.
6.you can't hide your lockscreen pattern.
So guys these are the pros and cons of beanstalk rom
i will end up saying that the rom is preety good and fast but it is not the best, it will be the best if you use it carefully because one mistake like switching off the developers option will cost you to reinstall the rom.
All the questions are welcomed and so plz make a visit to it. Plz give a thumbs up .so have a nice day.
plz do visit the video review for detail description https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B1am3cYTEH2AMFpiTGY1cldmbWc

Quick Review Lineage 14.1 by Meticulus

Lineage 14.1 by Meticulus
As of today February 12 XDA Developer Meticulus released his fifth alpha version of Lineage 14.1 based on Google's Nougat 7.1.1 mobile operating system.
For an alpha this version of the OS is very stable with only a few drawbacks namely no
WIFI Hotspot
USB Tethering
Bluetooth Tethering
SELinux
I am running this as my daily driver since the first iteration of his (Meticulus) ROM and find it more stable as the available beta version of Huawei's own Nougat based Emui 5.0. As of February 12 Live display has been fixed and doesn't lag the UI anymore, even though I personally never had this issue. My phone is the L-31 version with 3gb of RAM fyi.
Battery live is as good as it gets. I am getting a day and a half with moderate use out of it what is amazing considering I got barely a full day with minimal use out of Huawei's unmodified stock firmware. Being not bogged down by all the bells and whistles that come with Emui 4.1 does wonders.
Out of the gate Lineage is as bare bone as it gets and a dream for every theme artist out there. As always with Custom Roms that come without the usual Google apps
http://opengapps.org is your friend. Meticulus recommended the nano version if you like to flash dirty, saying that I am running Lineage fully modified as a Google Pixel Phone and had no problem updating to his most recent build.
Speed is great, using my phone to play games like Lord of the Fallen, Fire Emblem, Various Emulators is a pure pleasure. Internet is fast and responsive. Phone calls and texting work as should. (Does report a very weak signal where I had full "lines" normally, but Meticulus stated on his webpage that this might be only reported back wrong to the system and not actually be an issue.) RAM management is great especially compared to the stock OS from Huawei. Camera is still slightly bugged as some users have issue with snap apps. The camera app provide with the last update works reliable enough, but can force close from time to time if overused.Picture quality is fine for my day to day use, put I didn't compare the Huawei stock picture quality with Meticulus build one. I found the open camera app from the play store slightly more reliable. All issues aside this is great work from Meticulus who has provided us with another great custom build ROM for the P9 lite.

Where did you get your themes sir?
Never used dual sim, have a 128gb Mem stick in it. Also not using any theme is stock Pixel launcher with Pixel icons installed via open Gapps, used aroma installer to get everything done, was quite tricky as the installer is heavily bugged under Meticulus TWRP ...

Meticulus raged because people kept asking him the same thing over and over again. His work was send everywhere else without his permission.
The whole thing with "donation" was an optional thing.
It was like: Hey! Want me to update or work at X rom for Y phone? Donation please."
Meticulus was indeed a bit "childish". I could at least help him with the roms (anti distribution and so on.)
I think that,
If you make it for yourself, then you share. Donation is welcomed.
If s.o akes you to do s.t, then you ask for rewarding sooner or later or just stop it.
S.o had paid him the downloaded rom then got it. They have no point to ask for more roms as they only paid for what they got. It is obviously.

DU just released first batch of official Oreo builds and Nexus 5 is lucky to be on 1st line as DU is first one from major custom ROMs league to release official Oreo for hammerhead after testing beta builds for months.
Since DU guys don't officially host/discuss on XDA I'm creating this thread as discussion thread for XDA DU enthusiasts to keep it organised and help each other, be inform this is no way official support thread.
All bug reports (with proper logs) and feature request should go to DU's JIRA

You are Not allowed to share any Direct Links regarding DU builds in this thread. (DU maintainers has asked for same in past so we should respect their decision and go to Official G+ for links)

Have you tried formatting to ext4? It was needed for RC builds. Not sure if its required for official build. Also what twrp version are you using?
I'm using it and it's really good. I switched over to ext4 on all my partitions a while ago so maybe that's the cause of the bootloop the above poster is experiencing.
I also wrote a guide for using it with NanoDroid: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=75835165&postcount=2692

I have the same issue. I haven't tried any other camera apps though.
It flashed and booted fine for me, didn't have to do anything special. Used nano opengapps.
Battery life is great, best of the 8.1 ROMs I've tried. So far everything is smooth and works fine, except camera fc's. Easy enough to flash a working camera, which I did.
Very happy with this, and appreciate the maintainer for his work on hammerhead.
My Report :
Default Camera FCs (You can use Google camera with Magisk Mod to get HDR+ working ) (Already reported to DU team on Jira, You can add your logcat)
Video still feels shaky and unclear on Google camera
Overall Smooth and silk ROM with Handful of nice features. :good:
On comparison with Nougat..well it's still not as stable but hey it's just 1st release.
Just flashed this and my lord its fast and I lobe the boot animation 1st time I've used DU.
#staydirty
Well... just flashed this ROM. Oreo? Yeah!
But... There are some problems. The biggest one: bluetooth. I explore every angle of they posts on G+, official site, and download sections: nobody mention about bluetooth problems. I have a little headset, and now audio during calls is simply TERRIBLE. I know the issue is famous out there, but I hoped that a "stable" release of DU will not have this kind of bug... I can survive for some time, but if nothing will be fixed, I prefer go back to a "stable" Nougat...
Other problem? I had to change/override the camera app. I just found this and install it. Just delete any data of the app and cache, reboot if it doesn't work:

However, I just checked another camera I have now that's working, and it's 4.2.035, and I'm not sure where I got it from, maybe from another Oreo rom. apkmirror probably has that one, too.
New RC is up..Unfortunately clean flash is required as it's RC and not official release so Signature change:good:
Currently using Unlegacy 8.1 but it lacks quick charging. Does DU supports it?
Should I switch to DU or RR or DarkROM for best battery/performance?
