Introduction
This is Tassadar's MultiROM, a multi-boot solution, port for Meizu PRO5. The main part of MultiROM is a boot manager, which appears every time your device starts and lets you choose ROM to boot. ROMs are installed and managed via modified TWRP recovery. You can use standard ZIP files to install secondary Android ROMs and MultiROM even has its own installer system, which can be used to ship other Linux-based systems.
Features:
* Multiboot any number of Android ROMs
* Restore nandroid backup as secondary ROM
* Boot from USB drive attached via USB-C OTG cable
Warning!
It _is_ dangerous. This whole thing is basically one giant hack - none of these systems are made with multibooting in mind. It is no longer messing with data partition or boot sector, but it is possible that something goes wrong and you will have to flash factory images again. Make backups. Always.
Installation
Prerequisites
Your device must not be encrypted and crDroidAndroid-7.1.1 build started from 20161218 should be installed as primary ROM (because it has kexec-hardboot enabled kernel).
MultiROM has 2 parts you need to install:
Modified recovery - download the ZIP or IMG file and flash it using current (TWRP) recovery or fastboot or Flashify app.
MultiROM - download the ZIP file and flash it in recovery.
You current rom will not be erased by the installation.
Adding ROMs
Go to recovery, switch to MultiROM menu (button at the top right corner ) and tap "Add ROM". Select the ROM's zip file and confirm. As for the space, clean installation of Flyme 5.x after first boot takes 1.9GB+ of space.
Updating/changing ROMs
1. Primary ROM (Internal)
Flash ROM's ZIP file as usual, do factory reset if needed (it won't erase secondary ROMs)
Go to MultiROM in recovery and do Inject curr. boot sector.
2. Secondary Android ROMs
If you want to change the ROM, delete it and add new one. To update ROM, follow these steps:
Go to MultiROM -> List ROMs and select the ROM you want to update.
Select "Flash ZIP" and flash ROM's ZIP file.

I have the same problem, both with secondaries Flyme 6 beta and flyme 5.1.12.G
Bluetooth earphones works ok, but 3.5 jack earphones not.
I have also that issue "Another problem is that when using nandroid backup install on Secondary rom does not work properly,it does not boot."

crDroid must be kept as primary ROM?

Why this great feature had not any attention on it? wodering.
Yes,
crdroid in first order.
flyme roms audio jack is not working.

Hi, faust93 you still didn't answer to my reply

Hi,
Yes there is a bug with headphones on secondary flyme rom. I cant hear sound too.
If the secondary rom is crdroid you must remove boot.img to boot it.
To uninstall - just reflash primary rom (uncheck Inject multirom.. check box first) and remove multirom folder from sdcard.

@faust93
The version of crdroid you say you must have in order to install MultiROM is no longer available in your repository. Does this mean that the last version should also work?

thanks faust93! this is the greatest thing ever happen on Pro5! really appreciate your effort!
1 quick question, if i flash the stock Pro 5 stable firmware as 2nd rom, do i need to remove the BL and recovery file in update. zip first?
or i can flash it whole thing directly?
i asked so because i worry it may override my twrp if flash it directly
thanks again!

You're right. No need to remove by hands because those partitions are not flashed actually while installing as multirom 2nd rom.

@faust93 this is compatible with RR rom built by u or just CC droid roms only?

Yes I have latest RR flashed as a primary rom!
As for the headphones in Flyme rom, you can try following commands in Terminal (root required):
su
cd /system/bin/; ./tinymix -D 1 16 1; ./tinymix -D 1 13 1
The downside is that you'll have to issue these commands everytime you plug in your headphones (you can try to use Tasker or similar app to automate the process). Another issue is that some report that DAC is not working.

Haven't tryed out Flyme as a secondary Rom yet, as I'm more than happy with my RR (7.1.2)!
But as I write, the latest Flyme 6 beta is downloading and I'll report as soon as I find out.

Buddy screenshots are of older version
I'll post the newer screenshots soon..
Hopefully we will now get Cyanogen 13? Anyone know if Cyanogen / Zuk are even working on it? Not even a single word from them.
For those who have problems installing the rom with TWRP: unzip rom, go to .\Meta-Inf\Com\Google\Android\, open updater-script using Notepad++
and replace k9 with Z1. There are two places where "k9" must be replaced by "Z1" in order for the rom to be recognized. Wait until it s done installing. Then you will have to wait 5-10 minutes to boot for the first time.
Now, some words about rom. It's ZUI rom, comes with chinese bloatware and the soft isn t properly translated to english. left and right capacitive buttons are not working- they need to be activated in the settings menu. Installing this rom YOU LOSE ROOT ACCES AND CUSTOM RECOVERY AND BOOTLOADER IS LOCKED.
The awesome thing for me, is the smart clock/answer option for windowed cases. If someone could port that to COS, that would be awesome.
I tried to unlock the bootloader but the fastboot command fastboot -i 0x2b4c oem unlock simply doesnt work. The phone is recognized in adb and fastboot mode.
Managed to root the rom with King Root Apk.
Managed to boot in a temporary TWRP recovery with the help of ZUK z1 toolkit: http://forum.xda-developers.com/zuk-z1/development/win-zuk-z1-toolkit-0-1-alpha-t3235964 and from there i just restored my backup made with twrp. Never coming back to ZUI.
Same here!
Dude, Same problem faced like you without root and after hours of panic no wifi bluetooth working, I have finally recovered TWRP with QPST. Will never even try ZUI forever.

What's this?
This is TeamWin Recovery Project for ZUK Z2 Pro (z2_row).
This is an official recovery support thread.
Known Issues
MTP broken in 3.3.0 and newer builds because of a TWRP issue with 4.4 kernel (you can still use adb push and adb sideload)
Requirements
Unlocked bootloader
Common sense and a Z2 Pro
Downloads, changelogs, installation info
All of this info can be found at the official info page.
If you use fastboot to install TWRP, you may have to specify a vendor ID in the commandline, like so:
Code:
fastboot [B]-i 0x2b4c[/B] flash recovery twrp.img
fastboot [B]-i 0x2b4c[/B] reboot
Thanks
@varotone for the initial z2_plus TWRP device tree (and also for the thread template )
@kubersharma for some commits in the device tree
cosmedd for his work on the TWRP tree for z2_row
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this recovery compatible with both treble and non-treble ROMs?
Yes, this recovery is compatible with both non-treble and treble ROMs mounting /factory as vendor (the most updated ones are doing so), while it isn't compatible with the ROMs renaming /factory as /vendor. If the ROM you're using is still using /vendor instead of mounting /factory as vendor, report this to the maintainer and tell them to update.

As first because this has the factory mounted as vendor support instead of factory renamed as vendor. If you're already using a build with this support and you downloaded it recently it means that the build is the exact same as this one. I created a thread so that things can get out of Telegram only and also because soon it'll become official (the old one is deprecated pretty much)
Thread updated with the official tag and a new official build on the TWRP.me website. Enjoy

I have sucessfull encrypted my data partition with aex rom.
But twrp isn't able to decrypt it. Twrp asks for the password but after entering the right pass, i responds with password invalid.
Theres something that was changed in Android encryption (and twrp 3-2-3-1 should it fix for many other devices, here not).
Should not be a big thing.
Perhaps this helps:

Checked with @DD3Boh and decryption for pie is working in a test build. He gonna push the new version after some more testing.
But be patient, we will be finally able to encrypt our device and decrypt it in twrp.
Thanks to him,

TWRP 3.3.0 just got released
Encryption was fixed, although mtp is broken because of 4.4 kernel (which is a must for encryption)
Instead of mtp you can just use adb push to push files to the internal memory, or either adb sideload <package path> to flash them directly without transferring to the internal storage (works only after having enabled adb sideload in the advanced TWRP tab)
Download link in the first post
Hi, thanks for your work.
I've tried to reinstall baseband but log says it's not installing nothing. Using twrp 3.3.0, i'm on ArrowOS.

It doesn't work on official builds for some reasons, so I had to disable it
I could though make a build locally where for some reasons it should work fine
I need some help with the Zuk Z2 Pro. I've flashed TWRP 3.3.0.1 and it seemed to work.
However, I'm unable to get the phone detected on my pc in TWRP, or ADB sideload. The phone gets connected while rebooted in system in Zui. Using zuk2pro driver.
I've also not able to mount data.
So i followed some instructions and reformat the partitions, but i forgot the phone could not be detected in TWRP.
I'll like to know if ROMs can be flashed using OTG-USB.

I tried USB-OTG and it worked. Thankfully.
Can't make any sense out of the driver game.
Sideload isnt working for me either, same as with the previous version, rendering TWRP essentially unusable when running a 4.4 kernel.
Resolve that first please, prior to adding more features. There arent THAT many kernels to choose from.

Probably you don't know why I even switched to 4.4 kernel, which is because 3.18 kernel in TWRP breaks decryption, which is quite an important thing.
Anyway I can build TWRP locally and send a build as that will somehow have mtp and USB in general working.

Realme 1 - Treble Rom
'TREBLE', let's talk about it.
Realme 1 supports treble, we have unlocked bootloader, a working TWRP, and several Treble Roms available, so why haven't anyone tried flashing a Treble Rom yet on Realme 1? Those are the only things we need to flash a Treble Rom on this device right? Am I missing something?
I don't have a backup phone nor do we have official firmware for Realme 1 to recover from soft brick, so I am not willing to risk my device yet. If someone else could do it instead I would appreciate it a lot.
P.S. Someone should start a pinned thread for 'Realme 1 - Treble Roms'

Hey I successfully installed TWRP recovery but I didn't flash magisk yet. But even now there is a message in status bar saying "Rooting of your phone has been detected. Tap to fix" and that screen is showing me to install 2.1GB OTA update. Idk what is happening I never faced such thing in any of my earlier phone while twrp flashing . What is this ? Can I install the update ? And why is it showing. Will there be possible bootloops if I install the update or willI I still be having TWRP or stock recovery get flashed. Please answer so i can proceed with my choice.

Updating OS will remove root but will it also remove TWRP ???
One more question I followed all the steps correctly (including wiping data) but from TWRP I can't mount DATA.
---------- Post added at 10:01 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:13 PM ----------
After wiping data if I just reboot to TWRP recovery then I can mount the DATA but once I have started the phone and set it up then again I boot into TWRP recovery and when I try to mount DATA I am not able to do so. Can't mount /data invalid argument. Please suggest something.

I've been toying around with Android since it's Lollipop versions, rooting them, intalling custom ROMs etc. Probably 6 years. More than 7 devices.
As far as installing a custom ROM on this phone (Redmi 7A) is concerned, the different versions, like Indian, Global have different drivers or HAL's.
So, after successfully booting up into MOKEE OS on my variant 3-4 times, Torch, Audio, Video, Calls...... Nothing worked.
And to be very honest, there was nothing mentioned about this in MOKEE OS thread, as to which version of this device is not compatible with the ROM. The only reason I messed up was because the introduction of GSI ROMs has made the custom ROM creation process easier, but introduced a ****load of work in some devices, and ending up causing trouble.
This was the reason I requested all the steps in the thread so I could verify if I was missing some important step as far as the Indian variant is considered.
But thanks to everyone, I successfully booted Mokee ROM with everything working on my variant, including superuser privileges.
Also I messed up partitions in TWRP, and ended up with only 22gigs of Internal storage available, lol.
Thanks.
Tried @Tenome7 patched boot file for latest nightlly mokee OS 10, it bootloops, patched my own boot file, it still boot loops.
It seems impossible to get magisk working in mokee OS.
Ok I figured it out, AFTER you flash the patched boot.img you need to format the data partition, you'll loose all your data, however the ROM will boot.
I'm running Android 10 mokee os, more stable and no bugs compared to lineage os 17 rom

Sorry for being so late to reply here. I would suggest using MIUI v10.2.10.0 as the base over which the Mokee OS needs to be installed.
As far as root is concerned, I tried Magisk but it gave me bootloops every time. As an alternative to getting root, I flashed the AddonSU installer which I downloaded from the Mokee Official site. You would just need to find it on the website.
I hope this helps. If you have further doubts, I'll stay a bit more active here. :fingers-crossed:
I want to unroot, but when i choose restore images in magisk manager it says stock backup doesnt exist. I downloaded the patched boot and stock boot.img prior to rooting, i didnt use magisk to patch the stock boot. What do i do now, i want to unroot and install ota on my xiaomi mi a3.
Can anybody help me?
I need the new version of patcher and the creator's website doesn't load me correctly.

Hi
carried out
bootfromrecovery.bat - Reboot to recovery, connect to PC, install adb driver and run this file. this will extract boot.img from running phone, patch it on the fly and flash back patched boot.img
..but it didn't happen
* Requires internet connection. (it downloads latest Magisk release during process)
..I still don't have root
someone will help
Thank you
I asked the developer about a similar issue with the downloadable patcher, and he suggested me to try with the online one, which is more up to date.

Unzip the rom file to the root of c: drive and connect your device to fastboot mode and double click on flash_all.bat
A cmd window will popup and close after 15-20 min approx when flashing is done. This will delete your data.
Let the device boot into MIUI.
Once it boots power it off . Then press the vol down + power button until fastboot in orange letters appear.
TWRP method:
Follow flashing guide of twrp from here.
Boot into twrp.
Go to wipe and format data.
Then factory reset in wipe.
Do not wipe anything in advanced wipe !
Copy the.eu rom zip file to a fat32 formatted sdcard or usb.

- first_install_with_data_format - with data wipe, if you're flashing Xiaomi.eu ROM for the first time or downgrading.
- update_rom - without data wipe, if you're updating from an older Xiaomi.eu ROM.
Done!
Remember:
If you are going from MIUI 13 (or later) Weekly ROM to MIUI 13 Stable ROM, you are doing a downgrade, so format data is mandatory!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
MIUI 13 (Weekly)
Go to the sourceforge link of the rom and see the date of your rom. In this case it's alioth.
See the date of your rom . Now go to xiaomiformwareupdater.com and select your device. Then click download.
New page will appear. Type fastboot in the searchbar of the page. Now see global rom the date closest to the release of the xiaomi.eu rom and download.

Unzip rom file to root of c: drive.
Go into folder.
Run fastboot installation script in folder according your PC operating system:
--- For Windows OS - windows_fastboot_update_rom.bat
--- For Linux - linux_fastboot_update_rom.sh
--- For MacOS - macos_fastboot_update_rom.sh
Done.
NOTE FOR ALL:
Make sure to always extract and move the stock rom folder in root of c: drive (this helps avoid flashing errors)The path should look something like this:
C:\spes_global_images_YourVersionhere
Also make sure the same to unzip xiaomi.eu rom folder in the root of c: drive:
C:\xiaomi.eu_multi_HMNote11_YourVersionHere
Then flash Xiaomi.EU according to instructions above.
Alternatively If you want you can flash india , eea , turkey , etc variants of stock rom instead of global , then flash xiaomi.eu according to the instructions above. But keep in mind that the release date of stock rom that you are flashing should be closest to the release date of xiaomi.eu weekly rom.
Must do all the process again if flashing a new rom
If you get a error like this: assert failed _dynamic partitions package_extract_file(dynamic_partitions_op_list) ERROR 1
Then go to the guide here and re do all the steps in the guide and when it comes to flashing twrp, then use twrp 3.6.1 to flash rom then flash twrp 3.7.0 according to the process in guide (if the rom you flashed is a12/a13) or use shrp 3.1 instead of using twrp after re doing all the steps and then flash rom.
If mtp not working or device not getting detected as a portable device in any recovery then watch this guide here: GUIDE
Do not replace the recovery or try to update recovery that comes with roms. This can cause problems such as reboots, apps crashing, etc as recovery is integrated into boot partition in which kernel is also integrated.

Big woop. I don't want stock MIUI crapola. The whole point of XDA is better choices, not encouragement to return to the stock, bloated, ad-engorged OG software. The whole reason to buy a Snapdragon'd phone is ROMing. This will not make me go back.

I also don't want the xiaomi crap but I also want to use my phone in a usefull way, not having to deal with all the issues other roms introduces.
In my old phone (xiaomi 4x) the miui.eu rom was quite good and you could improve on it by deleting xiaomi system apps that you didn't want to use. I don't know whats the story now, but Im trying to learn.
Somebody said that the A/B partitioning scheme bloats the GB in the system but still 18 seems a lot to me.
Im still a bit scared to flash magisk which is annoying because i really want to root my phone to get rid of ads and stuff

Why are you scared to flash magisk ?
Btw , are you getting issues in which your device randomly reboots (with animation) sometimes and apps crash unnecessarily ?
I have no nfc Indian 6 64 variant and I get this issue in all .eu roms for my device .
These issues are nowhere to be found in other custom roms .

Magisk installs a bit funky with the RN11 since I stayed on the crDroid recovery. I recall I had to do the adb sideload method. Go under the Add Update section. You still need the boot.img and vbmeta.img from your installed ROM.

Actually, the recovery would not recognize the external SD. Nothing changed on it. I did freak a bit until the sideload worked from PC. Still won't read it in the stock crDroid 9.2 recovery but every other place it does.
Edit: it is just the recovery that fails to read it. Apps within system read it fine, and it mounts. "unsupported filesystem exfat" as seen in recovery. I did not format in exfat, though.

No I had no such issues , I have the version with NFC. I finally got magisk and adaware so now I will cool a bit before trying something different. LineageOS seems not supported anymore and from the other custom roms still not sure if you get more issues than miui.eu
