Is Nougat likely to be available soon? - Xiaomi Mi MIX Questions & Answers

Hi everybody!
I'm fairly new to Mi phones and this might fit better in the rom forum, but does anyone know if there's work on a stock Nougat/Marshmallow rom for the Mi Mix? And if so, how soon my might be released?
Thanks!

Xiaomi differentiates their product by their MIUI skin. Marshmallow is the core of MIUi 8, I suspect they'll bring out MIUI 9 in the first quarter of 2017.
I'm hoping we get CM or AOSP for the Mix before then. That would be sweet

Flashing stock Android Nougat on a Xiaomi Mi 5

Hi all,
I'm pretty new to all this, so forgive my ignorance. I have a Xiaomi Mi 5 with their gloabl MIUI 7 rom installed, unfortunately I really dislike it, it's really buggy, things crash regularly, very poor if i'm honest. I was wondering if it was possible to flash stock nougat onto this phone, no MIUI or anything like that, just the standard google release?
Thanks.
Here you go AOSP

it depends if your phone is unlocked or locked, by the way you can try updating your miui 7 to 8, since it's already old.
you can see a lot of ROMs in the development section

Mine is on Android 6 and no OTA updates
Have a look here if you'd like nougat on your device, imho you will definately want to get rid of MIUI.

To be honest,I am disappointed in Xiaomi even Meizu is pushing updates faster in their budget mNote series it's been quite a while since MIUI9 only on developer rom only [emoji22][emoji22]

I thought with a phone with those specs and the high price, Xiaomi would be a little faster to push updates and keep it up to date but like every other brand, they want you to buy their latest model. They want your money and then you are left behind

No Custom Rom for Mi 8 SE ?

Why isn't there any custom rom development for the Mi 8 SE? I really wanted to buy this phone for the amazing design & hardware in this price but don't like MIUI that much
So, is there any possibility of rom development for this phone in future?

I believe is should be ''yes" rom based on AOSP or LineageOS..etc
you mean that so? someone will make that thing for it. cuz source kernel for it is ready and released, many user xda or miui 4rum using this device.
But, one very important thing "Trebel running as well on almost devices and mi8se is also supported by this project and using some rom in the project treble, running quite stable and less bugs''.
So many one users mi8se here, there are a lot of reasons to believe this. it will comming soon , just patience to waiting.

Question - Blackshark 2 stock android on Mi 9 ?

Hi all,
As the name says - Xiaomi BlackShark 2 is SD855 device which has been recently released. It sports stock android pie in order to help further improve performance of the device.
Has anyone tried to flash its rom to Mi 9?
Please just thoughts and/or experiences - no need to debate if Mi 9 needs this or not.
I would love to try myself but I still dont have the device.
Thanks!

Furthermore to this - checked the Black Shark 2 section at XDA. All screenshots indicate AOSP based rom, and specifically its Global version does not contain any junk inside...

This is very interesting and theoretically it should be quite viable since same SOC and probably same fingerprint sensor. But not same camera so maybe camera might have issues.
But otherwise seems like a nice idea

"Mi Services" out of box installed? Do i really have plain Android One?

Hi Guys,
just got my new A2 and i am a bit confused. It has a Mi Services App running for opt in and some other Mi App installed which i cannot uninstall. Do i have the right Android Version? I did an OTA update but that hasn't changed the fact
If i don't want those apps, which Android 9 ROM can you recommend?
Thanks in advance!

Mi services are an opt in component. They are used by mi to collect some user experience info so as to improve upon the product.
The other mi app is the mi community app which is like any other forum found in companies like one plus etc. That too can be uninstalled... Other then that, this is pure android.
Trust me, stay on stock as long as you are getting updates.... there's no reason to switch to custom roms so soon

Thanks. I read up on other threads that all are extremely in favor of the Pie Havoc ROM. Do you have an opinion about that?

I haven't touched the world of custom rom for mi a2.
That's why, i can't give you any advice regarding them.
Stock rom is buggy mess, also why you want 9.0 rom? we already got some good 10 custom roms try them out :fingers-crossed:

What bugs you encountered?
Apart from the brightness bug(you can't go below 19 percent of brightness), I didn't encountered any bug in the stock system.

I'm currently running HAVOC-OS-v3.0 TEN on my Xiaomi MI A2 and really like it. I'd definitely recommend if you're looking to flash a custom ROM.
[ROM]-[OFFICIAL]-[18-11-2019] HAVOC-OS-v3.0 TEN [10.0]-[Jasmine_Sprout]

what about bugs? Everyone is saying differnet things
I heard android 9 havoc has almost no bugs, thats why i was thinking 9
you can disable those apps with adb commands keeping the stock rom (cant remember exactly how but it's definetly possible)
the apps are providing the feedback function (so you can report bugs if you find any) and support for the camera app - which is the miui camera instead of the stock android. (you can always install another camera app and use that instead)
