Not booting: Stock recovery but root - LG Optimus 4X HD

I´ve got root access on my device but i only have got the stock recovery of android 4.3. I am able to push an twrp recovery image to the tmp partition. Now my question is if i can flash the recovery by "dd if=/tmp/recovery.img of=/dev/????". Which partition is the recovery partition?
Thank you
Edit: I did cat /tmp/recovery.img >/dev/block/mmcblk0p1 and now there is a red string when i try to enter the recovery

@Simon_29
You didn't enter proper commands, Check attachment follow space and symbols.
-Place recovery.img in internal storage
-Download android emulator from playstore
-grant su access
-Type codes from attachment
-change recovery263 with current recovery name
That's it.
NOTE on't type adb shell if you're using terminal in phone.

I cant see the pictures so i dont know which i have to select. I tried it nevertheless but i got the error which you can see on the attached picture... Is there any other tutorial for flashing the stock firmware?

Edit: Fixed it I went back to stock rom.
The clockwork mod install app for the 4x hd was causing this. I now used the twrp manager and even it said that it failed it worked for me. Thanks for your post anyway and that you could solve the error of xda

[Q] [DEV] Can someone DUMP P500 Baltic system.img

Hi, Can someone please dump/backup the system.img from baltic P500 or have a offical update for baltics. Thanks
Just do a backup and upload it. Thanks
No one here from Baltic States?
Hey, just show me how to do it, and I will give you.
hi, please use this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=8917870&postcount=12
or if you have Thunderg installed, then just do a backup and upload these files.
thanks
Hmm, could you be more specific? I just bought this Optimus One like two days ago, and I'm feeling very newb (it's my first Android).
What do I have to do, to give you that system.img and what is that system.img file?
Hi, the system.img a backup from Android /system partition is a main part of the android. But this guide we just dump that /system partition, it's the easiest way.
I'll try to help you do that:
1. Is your phone rooted?
If you haven't done that, then use Z4Root(super easy app ) and you can get it from here: http://www.upload.ee/files/997919/z4root.1.3.0.apk.html
Download that file and copy to sd card and install.
Open that installed app and root your phone
If you need help with that, then there is little how to here: http://www.worldofnubcraft.com/285/rooting-a-lg-optimus-one-android-phone
2. OK, rooting done, now we need terminal app: You'll find that from Market. Just search "Android Terminal Emulator" it's from Jack Palevich and install that.
3. Now open the Terminal Emulator and enter these commands without "" and hit enter after command, these 3 command should be it:
"su" it asks for a root privileges and you allow that
"cd /system"
"tar zcvf /sdcard/system-dump.tar.gz *" and wait when it finishes. it takes some time. It's done when you see #, it takes couple of minutes max.
4. That file is now on your phone SD card and upload that system-dump.tar.gz file to somewhere and let me know
Are you sure about that?
I'm sorry, but it's not working. It gives me an error "tar not found". Any ideas?

}
By the way, what you can do with that file? What it contains? I'm just a newb, and I want to know everything about Android.
EDIT:
Is it possible to do that dump with Thunderg?
Go to market and install app called "BusyBox" and download / install BusyBox with this tool. After that it will work.
yes, i forgot busybox install that and give a new try
Ok guys, I got it. Before putting it live, I would like to know one thing. Does it contains any personal data, if so, what exactly? Sorry, for being so paranoid.
hi, it won't contain any of your personal data. Personal data is stored mostly on /Data partition and we didn't dump that. Thanks
Ok, so here you have it.
Optimus_One_Baltic_ROM_dump.zip - 89.2 Mb
And it's only contains branded ROM with no changes? That's great. What program do I need to restore my ROM to the branded one, if I'm going later to change it?
i think you should look to Thunderg... it's best way to make a full backup and restore after

My friend has a Bell GT-i9000M phone. I am not sure what he did but I believe he applied lagfix and tried to update to 2.3
Current status is that I am able to get to Dowload mode.
I have tried:
1. Darkys stock rom: http://www.darkyrom.com/community/i...-this-is-the-stock-rom-for-sgs-gt-i9000.1115/
(No success)
2. JPU: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=10449932&postcount=7 (no success)
3. JL2/Speed Kernel http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=905975 - No success.
I can get into recovery but I get can't mount DBDATA error.
Currently the phone is rebooting constantly at Galaxy S GT-i9000M screen.
If I flash only JPU, it get stuck a round circle, I have waited about 15 mins with no change. I have used ODIN 1.3 and 1.82 and 1.83.
HELP!
What else to try?
This is where I am so far:
Phone boots with 2.2 with 0 for SD card and internal. Followed instructions as per: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=973687
Now, trying to use sdparted or parted.
If I use parted, using http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=937072 and http://forum.cyanogenmod.com/topic/...56396__hl__sdparted__fromsearch__1#entry56396, I am able to get to:
Step 4:
okay now copy all the six files you pushed into the /system directory to the /sbin directory and set permissons like this:
#cp /system/[xyz] /sbin
#chmod 0755 /sbin/[xyz]
(replace the [xyz] with the filenames..do this for all 6 files..)
now get into the /sbin directory
#cd /sbin
#ls
This should display all the files in your /sbin
The parted files you copied should be here...
Now lets start partitioning..
#parted /dev/block/mmcblk0 and hit enter.
here it should get you into the parted prompt..(parted)
enter "print"
>(parted) print
Click to collapse
However instead of listing, I get "can't have a partition outside the disk parted"
I am stuck at this point. I am currently using adb in normal mode. If I reboot to CLM SpeedMod recovery, I only get $ when typing adb shell, and su results in permission denied. I have tried installing super user via recovery but no go.
ThoughtS?
Anyone ?

I had the same problem a while back
You should be able to fix it if you odin flash UGJL2

endless boot is fine as long as when you go back into recovery your SD card can be mounted unlike before.
So i ask, is it mounting now?
If it is, your free to flash any other ROM
Hi Jay,
No go on recovery mode. Vol up + home + power doesn't get me anywhere. Vol down + home + power gets to download mode.
Phone continues bootlooping...
you mean you are still getting the same error in recovery?
sorry that didnt work for you as i had the exact same error and that is what worked for me.
I then flashed darky 10.2 RE once i could mount my SD card

install recovery using adb

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
so u did root. u unlocked bootloader. u flashed a recovery and u installed a new rom. one day u start "digging" things to see if u can delete all the unwanted files so u make the phone faster and accidentally u deleted an important file and now it cant boot and it cant go into recovery. you are wondering what you CAN do now ! The answer is : Everything !
You can either go back to stock rom or
you can re-flash the recovery and then reinstall the rom.
1. Download the platform tools for your machine ( windows , linux or mac-os ). Here i have the adb fastboot for you.
2. Copy the recovery image to a location on your computer thats easier for you. The recovery image should have .img extension. If it is in a zip file, extract the .img file from it before proceeding.
3. Connect the phone to the pc and open cmd inside the fastboot folder you downloaded ( windows ). The others not on windows must use cd [path to their desktop, inside the platform tools where they see the adb file].
** If you are on a boot loop but the pc gets to recognize the phone even for a second then
4. Type
i) adb reboot-bootloader
ii) fastboot flash recovery recovery.img ( the command is: fastboot flash recovery [recovery image path/filename] )
5. When its done , reboot. Hold Volume down and power button to see if u get in recovery mode. :highfive:
Install the rom now the way you already know. There are many guides for that so i won't make a new.
cheers :good:
**Windows users can use this fastboot to unlock bootloader too. Lite fastboot commands guide provided here
**Linux users don't even need to download it , they can just directly download it from their terminal
I hope this thread helps a little those that dont know what to do when they delete an important file. *Pictures coming soon*

USB debugging doesnt matter in custom recovery.
adb push <name of ROM>.zip /data/media/0/
or
adb sideload <name of ROM>.zip
you can always try googling, and come up with a few tutorials:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2317986
http://android-revolution-hd.blogspot.com/2013/12/ow-to-use-adb-sideload.html
http://android-revolution-hd.blogspot.com/2013/12/how-to-copy-rom-zip.html
etc.
This shows device not found when i use adb devices there is nothing

[LP/MM] 5.1.1/6.0.1 [TWRP] XPERIA Recovery

GOT TROUBLE WHILE INSTALLING A RECOVERY? GET A WORKING TWRP RECOVERY AFTER 2 MINUTES ON YOUR XPERIA LOLLIPOP/MARSHMALLOW DEVICE::good:
open any root explorer app like ES FILE MANAGER
Delete /system/etc/mm_twrp_recovery folder
Go to /system/bin/ folder
Look for the "chargemon.stock" file - If it's present, delete this one: chargemon - and now, rename the chargemon.stock to chargemon
Look for the "taimport.stock" file - If it's present, delete this one: taimport - and now, rename the taimport.stock to taimport
Reboot
download "recovery fix.zip" from mega.nz
extract the file and run "adbrecoveryfix.exe" the .exe file will install some needed files (normally into C:\Minimal ADB and Fastboot\ )
copy the files from the folder "RECOVERY FILES" into the "Minimal ADB and Fastboot" Folder
connect your xperia with the pc
open the "m a a d" folder and then SHIFT+RIGHT CLICK to open a command window
now type:
adb shell
su root
mount -o remount,rw /system
exit
exit
install.bat
Click to collapse
:victory:
don´t forget to press enter after "adb shell", "su root" and so on!
now your recovery will install again without any errors!
Another simple Method: thanks @meer_mortal
Delete folders and rename chargemon etc
Plugged phone into computer with dev settings, debugging etc
Open root explorer to make / -RW
Run install.bat with CMD
Boom! MM with TWRP
To get in into recovery reboot press down after green LED
