IMEI shown as 0 (zero) - MOTO Z PLAY XT1635-02 - Device Repair

Hi, I've been looking for a solution for my problem for about a month now. My IMEI is shown as 0 (zero not null).
There are three options that may have caused my problem and maybe it is the root for the solution.
1 - I've wiped my EFS partition with the chinese TWRP (I didn't knew what I was doing atm), there was an error when I tried that but still I think that something went missing.
2 - I tried to flash the Stock ROM, I've seen some people saying that I shouldn't have flashed the entire ROM and erasing modemst1, modemst2 plus flashing the modem and fsg may have caused this lost of IMEI.
3 - I've flashed the Cyanogen ROM on my phone, right know I don't know where my IMEI was lost (turned to 0) so this could be an hypothesis.
My network is not working, calls and mobile data. If I go on devices status or dial *#06#* the IMEI for both sims is shown as 0, but in "fastboot getvar imei" the correct IMEI is shown. I've voided my warranty when I unlocked the bootloader so I don't think I can return the phone.
Saying that, I would be willing to try anything you guys came up with just for a chance of getting my phone back to work.
PS. My brother bought a Moto Z Play too and asked me if I want to try using a backup from his EFS, the thing is that I didn't wanted to unlock his bootloader too, there is any method of backing up his efs without the need of unlock his bootloader?

Have you got a way to repair the imei?

moto z play com imei 0
tambĂ©m estou com mesmo problema, anulei minha garantia ao desbloquear o bootloader... mesmo assim mandei pra assistĂȘncia motorola e estou aguardando resposta...espero que por um milagre consertem.

As far as I know, this is a Bricked Device.
You need extra Hardware Modules which cost up to 300 of Dollars, for each Brand are some, like JTAG.
There are also Tutorials floating to make a Budget JTag over an Arduino Uno.
The Guerantee does not Grip, may See if exceeptions are likely to happen there.

Unknown IMEI and locked network after trying to recover

Hi everyone,
Hope you can help me solve this, cuz I'm way out of my knowledge..
My phone broke the lcd and was out of action for a few months.. After I finally got a replacement screen, the phone wasn't working and said IMEI unknown, I've tried to flash a few roms via recovery but nothing. So I just went crazy and flashed it via kies. It worked, the imei appeared but the phone was locked again..
Back to the shelf a few weeks until I could afford to pay for unlock.. When I picked it up, it was unknown IMEI again and the guy at the shop basically told me he couldn't help.
Was he right? I refuse to believe I can't recover the phone.. Can you please help?
Thanks!
Anyone?
Are you sure is that phone imei is not blocked, because provider may block if it is stolen reported.
I had the same problem after changing display IMEI unknown
But somehow it was saved from 'unknown IMEI' I don't know how.
restored efs from previous backup (twrp & philz recovery)
- no imei
I flashed stock
- no IMEI
asop
- no imei
tried different modems
again stock
- suddenly its worked
(some users reported flashing different modems worked for them)
Yes I'm sure imei is not blocked by network. Have a friend that bought a phone which he discovered the hard way it was stolen, anyway, blocked imei by network behavior is completely different.
This is what happened to me first time only valid imei after kies rom update.

If you see imei again, Make a backup using pc, there is a guide in development section. So, you can easily restore again.

I realized fastboot erase all partitions and installed the rom XT1098 , after that the phone only shows that my imei is 0 and is no network, only have signal in WCDMA mode, the mobile phone is possible to work on WCDMA without IMEI ? I realized that after all I've done my baseband has changed and I can not make it back to baseband version that was ... I got back up the PDS and the TWRP already restored a custom rom with backup the PDS and IMEI yet 0 ... I wanted my phone working in normal GSM :crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying:
already put the correct rom , I went back to 4.4.4 , updated to lolipop and nothing IMEI 0 and Baseband always different
My Baseband was msm8626bp_1032.3105.93.00R dstv_cust
the Current is msm8626bp_1032.3105.93.00y dstv_cust
I do not know where the problem is and what to do !!!
I read about this on another post, and as it sounds, the only fix is to replace the board. There's still no way of recovering a lost imei if "fastboot erase all" was executed. (Who in the world told you to do that? It is well known that this command will permanently brick moto g). And even if you could somehow get an imei through flashing someone's backups, your provider would kick you out of the network because of an falsified imei (it's a unique number, assigned to the phone). The system will report imei=unknown if pds is corrupt, read-only or in any way not accessible to the system. Then there it's a good chance of restoring the imei. But after "fastboot erase all" the system will report imei=0 and that is the end of the story. Motorola doesn't give any tools or information on how to manipulate imei.

I have bought this phone on ebay and it had imei problem, imei was different then original. Phone is sim locked on T-Mobile. Then i searched how to change imei and used commands shown here:
http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/f799/repair-imei-lg-g4-tmobile-t-1998692/
After that i found correct method and restored IMEI, MEID, ESN, but then compared full NV table to other H811's NV table and discover that some NV items are inactive. Unfortunately I have no backup Please HELP ME...
I'm not sure if I'll be much help as I'm in the middle of the same problem. I have a qcn backup from a version 20i. NV backup didn't work at all for me. Which software version are you on?

20i also mine. All EFS data is stored in modem, modemst1 and modemst2 partitions. I know that when you need restore Motorola phones full stock, you must enter fastboot erase modemst1 and modemst2 command, then fastboot flash modem.img and all EFS data is restored. I have tried this method but don't works here. It must be something like this to restore EFS stock.

@ryang872 Is your H811 sim unlocked? Can you show me your NV backup?
The NV backup that I took is all zeroed out. Which files do you need? Strange thing with mine is that after a while, it'll show network locked on stock firmware. I then flash a backup of an AOSP rom, and the network lock disappears.
My main problem is sim unlock on this phone, Device unlock app can't unlock it because EFS is changed. NV backup need to analyze which NV items are changed after sim unlock. Now you say interested thing, after installing AOSP Rom like CyanogenMod it is sim unlocked? Exactly which AOSP Rom do you use? I'll try it...
P.S I found QCN backup restored it and recovered NV items: 571, 2497, 2498, 2499, 2500 but other NV items i wrote, are again inactive...
I'm not really sure what's going on with the AOSP working. It's Resurrection Remix. Were you able to successfully use the wipe commands through adb? Mine failed with 'No space left on device' so I couldn't get any further than that. What exactly did you use to read/write the NV items? If I could make it that far I may be a little more useful to you.

Nexus 6 Unknown Baseband and Missing IMEI after disabling WiFi calling

I DO have an EFS backup backed up to Google Drive before I started messing with stuff so that is a non issue. I also have the box if it can be manually programmed somehow.
Here is what happened. At work today I was on T-Mobile WiFi calling. I disabled WiFi because I wanted to use LTE (which I get strong signal at work). After disabling WiFi, the device would not connect to cellular. I rebooted the phone thinking it would fix it for sure, then the SIM card wasn't detected and my IMEI shows blank, and my baseband shows as unknown. In bootloader mode it does show the correct radio and bootloader though. Also when I go to "Barcodes" from bootloader it shows the correct IMEI, serial number, etc...
Things I have tried so far:
-Flashing the entire MOB31T Marshmallow factory image with fastboot
-Flashing the entire N6F27H Nougat factory image with fastboot
-Restoring original EFS in TWRP
-Restoring known good ROM backup of all partitions including EFS in TWRP
-Flashing different ROMs besides stock
-Flashing back and forth between different radios using fastboot
-Testing my SIM in another device (it works). Testing another SIM known to be good in my device (still shows no SIM, IMEI blank and baseband missing)
-"fastboot erase xxxxx" on the 3 EFS partitions mdm1m9kefs1, mdm1m9kefs2, and mdm1m9kefs3 and trying combinations of the above
Last ditch effort I flashed stock firmware image and locked the bootloader. Now my phone has a locked bootloader, and I can't go into developer options. I can tap it 5 times to enable the option, but then when I press it the screen goes blank.
What do you get when you dial *#06# in the phone?
If a series of numbers or null, I think it's software and I'd go back to basics flashing a complete, clean factory image. Bootloader, modem, everything. Then, if you still have the problem, again restore your EFS.
If those steps don't work taking it to a cell phone repair center may be the best choice. They should be able get you going pretty fast using their test box.
If nothing is there, I think that means you have a hardware problem. It probably means a new motherboard.

When I dial that it brings up a box that says IMEI bolded, but then nothing below it like it's empty. Then an OK button. So I'm guessing it's a hardware failure.

Take it to a repair center and see if they can confirm. It shouldn't cost too much just for a verification.
Try a "fastboot erase all" followed by either a flash-base (bootloader and radio), or flash-all (entire stock ROM), then wait like 5-10 minutes after the first boot and see if cellular works.

IMEI gone in Custom ROM, still in fastboot

Hello there,
I hope I am posting this properly. I have bben using my device with verious ROMs over the last year or so, but when I tried to get rid of GApps, it soft-bricked and I restored using Lenovo Rescue and Smart assist the stock ROM. Then, trying to reflash, it started reprting that phone keeps crashing, and it does this in varius ROMS including a ROM known to work for me, with and without TWRP-Backup restored.
What I have identified as the issue is the IMEI. While IMEI is written in fastboot and fastboot getvar imei returns my IMEI just fine, *#06# just shows a box with title IMEI and OK at the low right corner, where the IMEI should be its empty.
Thanks so much in advance!
