IPAKY Neo Hybrid Armor сase review - Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 Accessories

Thought I'd share a quick review of the IPAKY neo hybrid case as I haven't seen one elsewhere.
The case cost around £3.21 from eBay which was shipped from HK and took around 4 weeks to arrive.
First impressions were that it was pretty good looking with a premium design. Second impressions, this thing is SLIPPERY! There is no grip what so ever and I find the phone slipping through my fingers most days.
The case is technically 'dual layer' consisting of a TPU/silicone inner and a plastic 'bumper' frame. I was a little disappointed that the frame wasn't metal, or even more durable TPU/silicone, this would have added a lot more protection. The bumper frame is rather flimsy and feels very cheap.
The case has buttons for power and volume rocker and are actually really good. The cut outs for all the ports are generous and precise and it gives the fingerprint reader a 'guide' so your finger rests in it far easier than without the case.
Longevity: I've had the case since the beginning of January and the bottom of the frame is already seeing discolouration which is disappointing. I haven't yet dropped the phone so I can't comment on protection but I would say after one decent drop, you're going to need another case due to the frame being flimsy.
Overall, I'd recommend the case if you want something that looks good and offers a decent amount of protection.

I see what you mean, maybe the one you linked to is more grippy than the one I have?

I have the one I posted, it's amazing for its price. Has good looks, and good grip. Can't judge on yours. Ha. Guess it's pretty equal.

It's just a cheap one that came with a clear case. I would not recommend the screen protector at all.

I'm not sure as I have the MTK version.

Just an update to this post.
The case has now broken along the plastic edge in multiple places. I don't recall the phone being dropped at all so that's through regular wear and tear.
I would not recommend this case.

Did you take pictures?

The ones on the mi store...the clear tpu and the screen protector film are good enough I feel.. doesn't add any bulk to the phone and protects from normal drops and abrasion..

Is this case for the Mediatek or the Snapdragon Note 4?
I know that the Mediatek Helio one is a little bigger so you can't use the other's case on it.
I myself have the SD 625 Global Note 4.

Solid case. I also have an IMAKCASE which I prefer over the IPAKY because it doesn't change the design of the phone too much but it does not protect the upper and bottom sides

incipio dual pro?

Anyone have any experience with this line of cases? I've used incipio products in the past and have been pleased with the quality. I'm thinking the protection level offered from the dual pro would be somewhere between a tpu case and the otterbox commuter.
I cant stand cases that have soft silicone covering the bottom where the charging port is

I had one on my iphone 5. Real nice case and even better customer service. The hard plactic part had a nice soft touch finish ala seido case compared to the shiny cheap feeling otterbox commuter plastic. Hope they bring it out for the note 2.

Ordered one 2 days ago as well. Hopefully that will be offering enough protection so that I don't have to get another case. It was either this one or the Seidio active for me but I like the look of the dual pro shine a lot more. Fingers crossed.

Silver and white shine looks great on pics. I wonder if the silicone atracts lint, I know they have two types of silicone that they use, one that attracts a loooot of lint, dermashot for iphone 5 and the one that doesnt and is tick silicone that they use on ngp line up. going to check with their customer service which one is it as I am Thinking of ordering one as well. Incipio cases are great quality.

The concern I have is that the polycarbonate part is not grippy enough. That seems to be the issue with both the Commuter and Ballistic. I'm still waiting Case Mate's Tough Case for the Note 2. Love the textured back that's very grippy. I do like the look of the Incipio case though!
There's a thread on this case!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2051175
I have the incipio dual pro shine and I also have a seidi case with kickstand not the extreme case but the Smooth I also have a Mercury tpu and a cruzerlite of all these I like the seido for the kickstand but I will say ive seen one particular negative review on Amazon for the pink one and she rants about how difficult it is to get on lol she was doing it right it clearly states in the instructions insert the right corners first it is a lil bit weird the very first time to put on but now I take the cover off and on in no time at all I have the white note 2 and I went with the silver case with black rubber and I like this case the most its not the thinnest case but it does fit in and out of the pocket and its def not as large as the otterbox defender or the other one I forgot the name ...So yes its a great case that offers just as much protection as my cruzerlite which gets great reviews and is about as thick maybe a little thicker than the cruzerlite but not by much if your going to spend so much money on a phone wouldn't you want it protected that's why you get a few for looks one for heavier usage when your active and that's what this is im an active guy and I feel secure knowing if I drop this case my phone will def be protected sure the case will have scratches because of the metal finish but this is the best looking slightly a lil more heavy duty case ...I love it at first after one bad review I was real sceptical but now I'm very happy I purchased it .. Its my daily case unless im hanging home watching movies than I use seido for kick stand I will probably get the seido xtreme or the new cruzerlite with kickstand on Amazon for about $15 it looks great and affordable

Sorry for bad grammer its late but I was talking about the incipio dual pro shine I have it in silver and like it very much I feel the most secure and sleek at the same time ... The only down fall is your first time putting on the case but I promise its easier than putting on a speigen or inbishield screen protector which requires alot more patience the first time ...Okay so the only negative I have is the rubber part picks up pocket lint from being in my pocket but its easy to wipe off just don't wear super linty ass jeans lol

I just put some thought into the case that flips open and holds your credit cards.... When it's open you can't access the power button or volume controls

Its possible to design so you can have 1 card in the flip lid with a window for camera, and buttons (might get slightly in the way for volume down). Then again, you dont need to use the buttons anyways.

Is it just me or is that an Antennae cut out at the top left(looking at the back of the case)? I really hope they build different region cases.

There is hole for that too, but if you check top right corner there is a bigger hole for the antenna on F320 phones. If you got for official cases they should be without holes for the international version, but if you go with cheap china cases there is a chance they have a hole to fit all phones.

I'm hoping the cases for the normal version fit the Verizon variant, just since the buttons are smaller there will just be space around them from the bigger cut outs

I talked to LG this morning and they were kind of sketchy on the differences between Verizon and the rest, so I'm now thinking there is more of a difference than the buttons

For people who use swipe side screen triggered launcher like Swapps (my favorite), SwipePad, Wave launcher,... better pay attention on fact that LG G2 got super thin side bezels, so any case with raised protective rim will block (interfere) swipe side screen trigger area. This is a main reason I bought Poetic Palette case which it doesn't interfere with Swapps (or similar launcher).
Has anyone seen a combo case and holster for the G2 yet? Thanks.

Nillkin Frosted Shield Hardcase

i need something to protect my phone until my Slim Armor arrive so i bought the Nillkin Frosted Shield for ~$12 from a friend..
i've been using Nillkin products for my devices since the last 2 years and IMO it doesn't disappoint..
fits really well on my Int. D802.. it shares a similarity with Poetic Palette Slim Hard Case, but the main difference here is that the Frosted Shield had a rough textured back.
it really helps keeping the phone from sliding off and providing better grip..
also worth mentioning is a slightly raised lip along the side of the case that grips on the edge of the screen.. so it's safe to place the phone face down on a flat surface
all the ports are accessible and it doesn't interferes with the LED flash..
and don't forget, just like other Nillkin cases, it comes with a free clear screen protector (it's a bit too wide so it must be installed dead center)
i got the red version of the case.. it looks really good on my black G2 (pics are below)

the main benefits of this case are it's textured back and the price (you got a case and a screen protector for <$10)
you can find a bunch of this on amazon/ebay/etc as low as $7
but keep in mind that this thing won't make your G2 defy gravity..

Scary that bottom and top is exposed. Reminds me of the pictures of the dude who dropped it and cracked right at the bottom corner with feather case.
Just got my red one today. Looks pretty cool, but it's far from protective. I bought this one just for looks and scratch protection though. It's a bit slicker than I prefer though.

What I meant by that, is that it's not going to offer much protection in a drop. It's very slim and sleek and is a nice looking case. The grip on it improves over time. But the exposed corners offer no protection. I still use it quite often though.
Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
I've bought Nillkin products and recommended them for some time, they offer the best bang for buck around when it comes to cases. I've bought this specific model, the rubbery hard plastic case, for the Oppo Find5, HTC One (M7), Galaxy S4, Xperia S and the G2. I always went with the black one and it was good. With the G2 I went with the white one to match my phone's color. Big mistake as a few weeks later it started to pick up color and eventually it turned pink. Nothing to complain on the fitting and build of the case. It is sturdy but it's not the best protection you can get.
I hope my insight can help you opt for other color besides the white case

Well as luck would have it....I dropped my phone today with the Nillkin case on. I flung my back pack overt my shoulder and forgot I had the phone in the side pocket. It flew out and slammed flat against the concrete edge.
I thought for sure it shattered my screen. It hit the ground and made a loud smack! I picked it up and cringed.
Just a few scuffs! Obviously they're where it smacked the concrete edge. The phone functions perfectly and had no marks at all. I got very lucky. Phew.

I am a big fan of red and black so i want to get the red one but one question how red it is? Is it bright red or it is like pinkish looking? In the first photos with the black G2 it looks really red but in other photos is like pink...maybe depends on camera.
Can you help me with this? Thnks!

Anyone know where to buy good case for mi5s and mi5s plus?

I also can't find any accessory products online for the Mi5s. Many are for Mi5 only. If you Google search "Xiaomi Mi5s" accesories (with commas) you'll find they aren't true products for Mi5s just by looking at the product photos...
Perhaps we need to wait a bit more until they're made and sold?
I find some on ebay amazon and aliexpress but i don't like them.

If you are on aliexpress, try "Mi 5s" (with spacing) instead of "Mi5s" (without spacing).
I bought a nillkin frosted for my 5s, it is quite nice.

No, the phone is still thin for me.
Imma take some pictures and post it here later...
Edit:
Can't take picture (didn't find any phone to take a picture), have this previous picture instead:
Hi , i bought the original flip case for my mi5s , works fine I can answer the call from the front of the case without opening it, etc. The quality is fine , the back feels like a light rubber surface so no slipping issues.
The price was around 15€ inclusive shipping.

If you are on aliexpress, try "Mi 5s" (with spacing) instead of "Mi5s" (without spacing).
I bought a nillkin frosted for my 5s, it is quite nice.
(Nillkin also has an official store on aliexpress)

They all have no cover for xiaomi mi5s..
Maybe a different case but same looks?
I am looking for a transparent but no thin one, i want one with thick sides but still pc or tpu
I bought a slim tpu case for mi5s but the top of case is flush with screen so if falls flat, screen will not be protected.
So I ordered another tpu case which should have bump around phone.
This is mi5s plus totally same for mi5s i have both phones.

Do you have the link for this case?
I also ordered the (official) flip dot matrix case directly with my mi 5s. Ordered it here: https://www.aliexpress.com/store/pr...-case-for-Xiaomi-Mi5s/342812_32745938725.html but it was a bit cheaper together with the phone. The case is nice, only gripe is that it lacks a hole in the rear for the noise canceling microphone. I don't make many movies (probably none), so it doesn't really matter to me. Nothing I could fix with a needle though
I bought both the nillkin back cover (like awaaas) and the one with the flip cover.
The only back cover is OK, good grip.
The flip cover I didn't like, cannot answer without open it, miss the hole for the led notification and the flip don't stay closed but slowly opening; I send it back.
I agree with @awaas and @fblasot, the Nillkin case is very good! I bought that one too, not too thick and is now better to hold than without case
I have the official Mi case and the Nilkin one. The Nilkin is nice with it's window and it protects the phone a little bit better (the sides of the case are a tiny bit higher than the glass, which is thus a bit protected), but the Mi one feels a bit better. The Mi case lacks the noise canceling hole in the rear, which the Nilkin offers.
Very strange that the official Mi case miss the hole for noise cancellation...what about the led notification ? with flip closed do you see notification ?
Do you have also the problem that the nillkin flip don't stay really closed over the screen ?
Can't answer that, as I haven't yet started to really use the phone. But it has a fairly fine grille, so I think it's possible to see the notification light.
Both cases needed a few days to become a bit "smoother" in opening and closing, but now both stay closed when I close them. The Nillkin takes a tiny bit longer, like 5 seconds until it's fully closed. But as I wrote, I haven't yet really started to use the phone, so it might be quicker closed if I'd use it more.

I've only ever had the Spigen case for the Mate 9 and it has protected the phone very well. I usually put a decal on the back to protect the phone from scratches.
Some advice about the case provided by Huawei with the phone ?
I'am waiting for my Mate 10 Pro and looking for a good case ...
This one looks great :

MSVII right ? I just ordered one,
another great option is Cafele, it has around same thickness and same material
for $3-4 bucks those two are pretty good deal,
used it previously on my S8, nice fit with excellent finish
I went for this one : https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/For-Huaw...hash=item21314d9100:m:my56SUhXYf46xbLVMd8r_fA

Thx, they both look nice !
Now I need to choose which one I prefer
Spigen. Though the design is a bit... eh, but it does the job well. I like it because it's thick enough.

Not exactly the MSVII. The one on the foto is the TopACE case but they are almost the same.

Spigen has already some cases for this phone ?
Yup.
I went for this:
CAFELE soft Case For huawei mate 10 TPU silicon Slim Protect Skin Rubber Ultra Thin Phone Cover
http://s.aliexpress.com/jiaQZne2
Will let you know when I get it.
do you think noreve worth the price?
I have the Top Ace ultra thin clear case on my Mocha Brown Mate 10. It's great - not bulky at all and shows off the lovely colour and glass back. There's a slight lip around the screen too. Was £6 from Amazon.
It's not too disimilar to the one in the box actually, though there is much more protection around the rear cameras.
I have also bought the brotect airglass screen protector (had one on my Mate 9 & U11) but am yet to fit it due to the nice glass protector already installed!

does this protect the sides and corner when the phone dropped on the floor?

I would say so yes. Sides and corners are fully covered, with good feedback on the buttons.
The corners aren't extra chunky or anything like on some cases, but it does the job for me.
I would have got the Spigen case if I had the black version as it was brilliant for my Mate 9. Though I wanted something transparent and a little thinner this time around.
Can't go wrong with this one!
(I had it for my U11 too as also wanted to show off the fancy back, just seems a shame to cover these beauties up!)

Just took the pics! Looks great don't you think?
Purchased a bunch from Ali. First thing I did was cut out the plastic between the flash, camera and laser to expose the Leica branding.

How is it different to the supplied clear case?

I had a Noreve wallet style case for a previous phone (Nokia 1020). It is certainly expensive but the quality is very good. If you've got the dosh I'd say it's worth it. Good protection and looks great. Lots of choice on colours and materials but gets more expensive still when you go off the common colours or leather finishes.
