Hello my friends, am about to root my phone, and everyone are telling me to instal a new kernel for my cellphone, coz am going to loose some features once I get the bootloader open
i don't have much experience about kernel, so I have some questions.
1)once I install android plus kernel,, can I upgrade my room every time I want?
2) i have the 39.2.A.0.374 room, and the androplus kernel version is: v19. can I install v20?
3) or for each room there is a specific version of the kernel?
Why did you ask here when you could ask in right thread? Go there where people are talking about Androplus and ask them about it.

Previously I owned a rooted Xperia arc. At that time, almost all custom roms used to mention supporting kernels. But here in Z1 development, I found that Custom Roms don't mention whether they run on stock kernel or DEV Kernel.
I want to know it because if custom roms are running on stock, then I skip Unlocking the boot-loader. If they running on DEV kernels, how ll I know which kernel for which rom ??

got this great phone some days ago. I successfully rooted it with this howto. After root i flashed this Debloated ROM .
I dont like the Sony Themed Stock rom. What is the best daily driver ROM? CM 11 is not avaible for z3c, right? Or should i just wait some time?
PS:
Do i need to unlock the bootloader, to flash CM12? Haven't figured out...

Don't post questions in General section, there is a Q&A section for a reason.
If you don't like the Sony Themed Stock Rom, I guess based on the looks, why don't you try different themes? There are so many things that you can change.
For CM you need to unlock your BL because it uses another kernel.

As much as I'd like to see a custom kernel, I am under the impression that I will have to wait for a long time for it to happen.
It seems the sources Xiaomi released can't be used out of the box and need a lot of work already.
So that would take some devs to pay attention to the Xiaomi mi5.
And with Nougat released, a bunch of them are already working on that... not on a MM device
So no... probably won't happen soon

I haven't been on the xda scene for a while and haven't bothered with mods for a few phones now, but my A2 is getting laggy with age and i want to keep this phone a bit longer.
Can someone please tell me if a custom kernel can be installed straight on a stock android 10 rom, without having to root and install custom roms.
Also will OTA will work with custom kernel (if possible)
I already have an unlocked bootloader.

I would like to advise from you, since the phone with the magisk goes into the boot-loop. I would be tempted to install a custom ROM but I have doubts about it ...
Is it possible to install all the applications of the Gogleplay or APK that is on the custom ROMs?

The only guide is never buying mtk device. Because no developers for it.
The problem is not MTK, there is just no correct sources from Xiaomi.
