Simcard not detected - Galaxy Note5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I have a n9200 Chinese version of the note 5.
I recently tried to flash a custom ROM on the device because I wanted to try nougat, but seems like most of the stable ROMs don't boot on the n9200 or something not working (2nd sim slot e.g.).
I decided to do a restore in TWRP of my stock rom.
However, the SIMcard isn't detected anymore.
"Insert SIM card" message appears if try to click on 'mobile data'.
I did a full restore of the rom, including radio, so shouldn't everything be as before?
I did also try to flash other ROMs, but the problem remains..
Do You have any advise of what to do?
Is it worth trying to flash the modem in Odin?
I assumed that it restores the modem if I do I restore of the radio in TWRP.

Ok. So I have done some research, and I came up with two possible causes to this problem..
1) I bought my phone (n9200) region unlocked, could the lock have been reactivated when I loaded a new rom?
2) I did a back up of my stock /efs partition before flashing anything.
However, I cannot find any .nv_data.bin in the efs folder... Could this be a problem? Are there phones without this file?
Would be grateful for any help. I have tried flashing different stock firmwares through odin, but the problem remains...

You should try ODIN flashing the stock firmware you were using when you first flashed TWRP. Bringing it back completely to stock including the stock recovery might set things straight. If this does not work you might need the PIT file for your device for flashing in ODIN. Best of luck.

Download the latest firmware for your device and flash it via the latest version of Odin. I had a similar issue where I flashed a custom ROM and lost service completely. I simply flashed back to complete stock. I got my stock firmware from sammobile, may take you a while but it'll be worth it cause you can then keep that file and always have a stock backup handy. Do it all the time.

Help plz

Did any one fix this problem???

Yeah, I actually solved it
It never worked to restore with Odin. SIM card was never recognized.
I did however download an official Samsung application (think it was smart switch).
I could do a factory restore of my n9200 through that application and its fixed the "no SIM issue".
i hope it will work for you too.

thanks all, i have sloved my problem. I also want to share my solution . I took uproom and hard reset hope if someone face to the same my problem, they can read my post hii
I've got the similar problem. My phone says "please put the sim card into the phone". This happened after I flashed Juwes 5.1 custom rom. My IMEI was corrupted after flashing, then I managed to restore it after I edited the nv_data.bin. Now I have an IMEI number, but the phone cannot recognize any simcard.
Reflashing to the stock rom with Odin doesn't help. I've already tried XXJVQ, now I've got XWJVI. Neither hard reset nor flight mode helps. I've already tried to delete nv_data.bin and nv_data.bin.md5 and reboot, but result is still the same. I cannot find any tipps for solution. Have you got an idea what could I try?
Here some information on my phone:
german version, not branded
*#06# shows the right IMEI
*2767*4387264636#:
Sellout SMS Off
Pcode: GT-I9000HKYDBT
Mode: Prod
*#1234#:
PDA I9000XWJVI
Phone I9000XXJVO
CSC I9000DBTJV2
everything seems to bi OK but it doesn't work. I have already found a topic in your forum about SIM initilializing bug, and somebody suggested to flash the following ROM:
(Rom) I9000 Hybrid / No TouchWiz *9/7/2010* for I9000
but its no longer available. EFS backup doesn't exist, as I deleted it some days before That was a big mistake.
Now I have to stay without my phone over the weekend

Hi,
There was no need for you to flash to stock ROM after installing Juwe's ROM 5.1. I am currently on the same ROM and faced the same problem. All i did was flash the JVQ modem via odin and my device recognized the SIM card. Hope this helps.
Thanks for your reply. as I'm now on stock rom, I've already flashed the stock JVI with phone and csc over ODIN. But this didn't solve the problem.
The problem is solved, After restoring my IMEI I was stupid enough, to put the sim the wrong way into the phone Now its working. Thank you guys.
hi tuteary Vtd, what do you mean by "uproom"?? i have the same problem, could you please give some more information about your solution?

Which country? Is your phone a dual sim model? Please send full details of your phone.
No service error can be resolved by these following steps:
First of all make sure your phones Aeroplane mode is turned off
1) Reinsert your sim cards and restart
2) Factory Reset your phone
3) Use *#*#4636#*#* on your phones dialer and then select the phone information option, try to turn on the radio manually
4) If none of the above works please check the phone status by clicking about phone>Status>Sim1 or 2>Service Status, If your service status is showing Radio Off then you have to Reinstall The STOCK ROM on your phone or you have to flash only the MODEM Files of Original Stock Rom via mfastboot

I believe that you know how to connect your phone to your PC in adb fastboot mode, so i am skipping that part.
Please check you have downloaded "XT1068_TITAN_RETAILDSDS_6.0_MPB24.65-34_cid7_CFC.xml". This is Stock Rom Version of India.
If yes Please copy only NON-HLOS.bin and fsg.mbn files form that STOCK ROM zip into the installation folder of adb fastboot in your PC.
Once you connect your phone in bootloader to PC open mfastboot cmd and type and run only two commands mentioned below 1) mfastboot.exe flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
and
2) mfastboot.exe flash fsg fsg.mbn
Then exit cmd and restart your phone.
If any confusions you have please feel free to write down here. (regrets for replies may take longer, please be patient)
I hope this will surely solve your problem.
Don't forget to leave a reply if your problem get solved

If your phones IMEI showing correctly, then its only problem of modem files.
I think what you have flashed is not a correct ROM. Otherwise that should have worked.
Please check your IMEI and then tell me is that IMEI SV slots are showing some value or showing null? Not only Main IMEI solt. There is another IMEI slot called SV slot check that also in about phone-status-imei information

Android 7.0 for Vivo 5R

Working Android 7.0.
Flash it with sp flash tool.
Start your phone and follow the setup (language=>wifi=>google account=>.......).
Now in your phone go to setting and find factory reset.
Reset your phone and reboot
Do it in your own risk.
Bugs: 00 Credit in 30 minutes, sms are sent to +91 -_-
Fix: change your center message number
can you flash with twrp?
bootloader and root going to be ok?
THANK YOU, I will be trying this very soon, I'll try to give some helpful feedback
---------- Post added at 01:14 AM ---------- Previous post was at 01:09 AM ----------
Also, just to be clear, is this a stock 7.0 rom (with the vivo 5r skin, like the quick settings sliding from the bottom?) or is it aosp or cyanogen mod?
Okay, I just installed this rom using SP Flash Tool, and i have to say it works fairly well, it's still has a gionee skin on it (the original manufacturor). Thank you for this rom.
Update: I can't seem to get around the invalid imei issue, so i'm switching back to stock rom
I also installed it successfully using the SP Flash tool but it wiped my IMEI numbers. I had to use MauiMETA 9.16 to restore them. I tried both firmware and download flashes with the same results. This Gionee stock rom does work, other than the IMEI issue and the message centre default number. For those asking, it does not have the BLU skins but it does have the same carefree launcher. It is not for TWRP.
Hi guys,
Did you flash this rom, turned on the phone and followed the setup, went to setting and did factory reset ???
Please can you confirm you followed these steps and after this you have still a IMEI problems. Thanks.
If you have a IMEI issue, you can use this apk Chamelephon and generate new imei numbers.
Has anyone tried this and has it fully working? I wanna try but don't wanna lose imei
It's cool
the marshmallow 7.0 is now available without root via update i dont see too many new things but yea
This working? re-flashed stock rom and lost 7.0 but I have a Sim card and don't wanna lose imei
For anyone who has lost their IMEI numbers, they're etched/written on the SIM card tray.
idk if this is worth the risk
how root this version please hep me and thanks

HELP!!! No service/no SIM card inserted?

Hi! So I have a Note 8 SM-N950N (SK) it says that I have SKC variant in the bootloader. I tried to upgrade the firmware due to some issues with the stock rom and now I don't get any service. I can make or receive any calls, nor does it show that I have LTE service. It's like I don't have a SIM card inserted when it's still in there. Does anyone have a solution for this? I purchased it from amazon for about 3 months ago...

Have you checked your APN settings?
I don't see how that has to do with any of it if it can't read SIM cards when you factory reset it or reflash the firmware?

Well you never mentioned factory reset or reflashing firmware, to be fair. You only said you "tried to upgrade" (could have been OTA/Odin, successful/unsuccessful, etc.). Don't know what specific firmware versions you tried either. Anyhow, if the APN settings were off it could explain certain issues with service. If It's not the case, then maybe someone else will be able to help you out with other troubleshooting suggestions.
Yup, it would help if you posted what fw/rom you were on & what fw/rom you tried to "upgrade" to & how (TWRP, Odin, OTA).
I've seen that happen when trying to use an older bl ver than what was on the phone.
did you flash just fw or also modem/bootloader?
I had a similar problem with a note 3 recently and after also flashing those it worked

No SIM / No WIFI: qcn/xqcn files needed to restore IMEI/MAC

Hello All,
November update... It took a whole time to get my phone booting again but I don't have SIM or WIFI anymore.
I think my IMEI's are gone, even as MAC for WIFI.
I tried recovery image (that's what solved the boot problem).
I took backups but some parts seems to be corrupted so I can't recover from there.
Does someone have the (x)qcn available for flashing over QPST (or even over TWRP to change afterwards over QPST)?
I found different versions online but I think it's checked against model number; mine is: M1804D2SG (SI doesn't work)
Yes... I will change your IMEI!
Thanks!

Flash via MiFlash Tool, that worked for me
MiFlash tried,
I tried most recent version that was available, but yes that's an older version.
The corrupted data isn't even in the recovery rom.
