Microsoft Wedge Touch Mouse - Lenovo Yoga Book Accessories

While not technically a Yoga Book accessory I've found that the Microsoft Wedge Touch Mouse is an excellent Bluetooth Mouse for the Yoga Book.
I didn't think the swipe and scroll gestures would work on Android but they do work and really well.
It's nice and small too.

I've been using Lenovo N700. It has dual mode 2,4ghz with usb dongle also work with bluetooth without dongle. Also have swipe scroll working very well... except it doesn't have vertical scroll.

The question...

The question here is whether me reaching to the screen to scroll a bit a few times per use is worth £40. Plus, you MIGHT be able to get used to the tiny mouse pad... but you'll still keep hitting the space button.

[Q] Bluetooth mouse Froyo

The last time I heard, SGS is able to connect to bluetooth HID devices such as keyboard and mouse and use them once the firmware is upgraded to Froyo.
KIES has just released DXJPA firmware for my region. After upgrading, Bluetooth menu does detect and show a mouse, with a mouse icon. However pairing with it does not let me utilize the mouse buttons to control anything.
Have I got anything wrong?
Edit: I am using wireless Apple Mighty Mouse. A quick google search does show ppl using it without issue.
I can use my mouse. It's Sony Vaio VGP-BMS33.
Without any configuration you just paired and use? Aww.. What's wrong with Mighty mouse.
Yup, just paired it. No additional settings required. Maybe you can try with windows (pc) mouse.
I'm afraid I don't have any wireless PC mouse.
What has been weird is others could use Mighty Mouse well but I couldn't. There is once when the phone asked for pairing code. I mistakenly entered 1234 (correct:0000), but it paired. Now when I unpair and pair again, it wouldn't ask anymore. This could be the problem.
Oh lol, my mistake. I didn't know I have to double tap to connect. I just merely paired but not connected to the mouse. Now it is working fantastically.
Congrat... Does your mouse have secondary button? It act like the back button.
Left click: Tap
Right click: Back
Middle click: Special menu (menu button)
Scroll button: Same like finger scrolling (no horizontal scrolling though)
Mighty mouse squeeze button: no action
No home and power button mapping. I wished it can map to the squeeze button. Is there any app to map mouse button? Best if the 360 degree wheel scroll can be used to scroll horizontally too.
Mouse doesn't seem to be able to unlock screen. I can move the glass but could never unlock. Lol.

Bluetooth HID development

Hey,
first of all:
I know that this is a problem many are asking for and i passed 2 days searching for an answer, including flashing some ROMs, but nothing seems to fit to my problem.
So i've connected my bluetooth mouse to my Galaxy S phone. This seem to work just fine with 2.2.1 Froyo version. I can move the mouse and click around and stuff - so the phone recognizes the mouse and interacts with it.
My problem is: How do i use this in the app i am writing?
I am developing an app for android, which should find easy usage of a bluetooth mouse. The only two functions of the bluetooth mouse i need are the left and the right mouse click.
A >very< dirty hack might be to use an OnClickListener on the whole screen for the left click of the mouse and the "onBackPressed" Method for the right click of the mouse. Supposingly this would work, but in terms of usability, i don't think this is usable.
Long Story short: Is there ANY way to catch the moment, that the user presses the left or right mouse button of a mouse connected via bluetooth?
If not: Is there any bluetooth device, which makes this easier and also offers two pressable buttons? (in fact, the mouse will be redesigned as a pad, which has exactly two action buttons)
Greetings,
Geki
Hi.
I have the same problem (although i would need it to be a mouse, not a pad)
Have you figured it out, how to do it? I am currently using nasty tricks you mentioned, but this renders back button useless(and menu button as well, if i use middle button too).
Any idea?
just as information:
Bluetooth mouse work just fine with stock 2.3.3 version as well(apart from not being able to bind right button to anything else)

Xoom/Tab keyboard?

My apologies if this was answered before, but do the Xoom or Galaxy Tab branded bluetooth keyboards work well with the NC? My thinking is that since they're designed to work with android, they'll be much easier to pair and maximize functionality with the NC (dedicated android function keys, adapting to orientation shifts, etc). I have a Microsoft bt keyboard I've tried and it's not convenient for me. Anyone tried either of these two yet?

THIS THREAD would most likely answer your question
Thanks for the referral, and I have checked out that thread a couple of times. Unfortunately, it looks like no one there has tested a xoom or tab keyboard. Anyone able to confirm if that purchase would be worthwhile?

From another post I made:
I still have problems with bluetooth keyboards, runing nightly 126 and 131. I have a Xoom bluetooth with a modified qwerty.kl file to enable most of the android special keys to work. The three annoying issues with Xoom keyboard is that it will stop working while typing long messages, have to hit power button on it to restart; a key will stick kkkkkkkkkk; and not easy to get out of pop-up for accent keys. You do not see these problems? The best feature is that I can leave power adapter plugged in with bluetooth.
When I use my Logitech wireless usb combo keyboard and mouse I only seem to get the pop-up accent box. The negative is even with a y cable it does not seem to charge nook while in host and v-bus mode. The combination arrow and keyboard interface is really slick.
Anybody else notice these flaws with bluetooth and usb keyboards?
Edit: At this point I can not recommend the Xoom keyboard. My Logitech wireless usb combo LX 710 Keyboard and LX 7 Cordless Laser Mouse both work with transmitter plugged into male micro female usb adapter. I prefer the usb combination.
Just found this negative post about Xoom keyboard. Exact same problems that I have.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=14150996&postcount=70
Edit 2: Maybe I was too harsh on the Xoom keyboard. I changed the batteries, seems better. When you long press a key is when you get accents. A feature not a flaw. Also after 30 seconds of no typing it sleeps, press key for a second to wake it back up. Another feature.
Bluetooth Mouse with Xoom or other Keyboard
Now that I changed the batteries and researched the long press and battery saver sleep feature for inaction, I have been trying to find a bluetooth mouse that seems to work well with the Xoom keyboard. Any input on this?
If you have a different bluetooth keyboard is there a bluetooth mouse happens to work well with your bluetooth keyboard?
I just tried out my logitech BT laser mouse with my logitech tablet keyboard for ipad with beautiful results. Even had a flash drive connected to my powered hub and could read it at the same time. This host mode option has made my nook a new machine. Now to get the webcam working.....

I was hoping this was true. Over in the usb host thread Moshe posted a picture of his setup. We discussed the mouse being bluetooth but found out that the logitech laser mouse is a wireless usb mouse. Still only one report from TheAmazingDave of quality concurrent use of bluetooth mouse and bluetooth keyboard. I can get them concurrently but when the keyboard kicks into sleep mode it locks up the bluetooth mouse pointer and force a hard reboot.
@ Dal and Verygreen. Do you think since the bluetooth mouse and bluetooth phone work on phone concurrently, that eventually we will be able to make them work on the nook concurrently?
Edit: I have loaded two apps Null Keyboard v2 and BlueInput. Not sure what they changed but I do not have the concurrent problem any more. The BlueInput only finds my Bluetooth mouse but does not connect. It does not find the Bluetooth Keyboard at all. The Null Keyboard v2 is suppose to hide the virtual android keyboard. This response is the first time that I have seen the Keyboard work correctly.
Spoke to soon, Xoom keyboard went to sleep and when I pressed key to wake back up, virtual keyboard showed up also.

Compatible Bluetooth Mouse?

Has anyone found a compatible bluetooth mouse? I can't find a standalone bluetooth mouse that will successfully pair with my DB (I have tried a Targus Model#: AMB04US and a Think Outside BT Mouse).
Furthermore, all posts I can find relating to the subject are for a keyboard with a built-in trackpad but I hate trackpads. I want to use a standalone bluetooth mouse and don't want to have to buy a dock (I am using the Webtop hack that bypasses the need for a dock).
Thanks in advance.
I successfully used my MS Bluetooth Mouse 5000 on the web-top. But here's the thing that might be causing your issue with the other mice: When I went to pair the mouse with the web-top it was waiting for me to enter a pairing code on the phone screen window and since i had that window behind a Firefox window and I didn't realize it the pairing process kept failing.
Logitech has a mouse out meant for android tablets. Maybe give that one a try?

Thanks for the suggestion. I get the pairing code window, but when I enter 0000, 1234, or 4321 (per Motorola Support's suggestion), they all fail. Targus support says it is because there is no PIN required. So if I enter something then delete the pin I entered (just to get the OK button to activate), it still fails.
I'm glad to hear that the MS Bluetooth Mouse 5000 works though. It appears reasonably priced online. Motorola wants me to go buy their mouse for $40+shipping. Seems a bit steep for something that clearly isn't working due to software incompatibility.

I wanted to close out this topic by giving others the following insight:
The MS Bluetooth 5000 mouse works flawlessly with my Droid Bionic both in standalone mode (nothing attached) and in Webtop mode (with the WebtopMod_Hack that enables you to get to webtop without a dock). I purchased it for $18 from a seller on eBay and found other sellers listing it for $20-$25.
Hope this helps future purchasers out.
Same here...
I'd also like to chime in and say the Microsoft Bluetooth Mouse 5000 works just fine.
It really irks me though, because I have an older (ironically) Bluetooth Mouse 8000 which I really liked because it had an integrated laser pointer and presentation controls on the underside of it. I could never get it to pair.
Microsoft must have made some changes in the device firmware stack because now with the 5000, I could get it to pair to my Bionic using the passkey 0000.
No matter what I tried, the 8000 would not pair.

Identical setup (stock, rooted, webtop mod), identical results! In fact the V470 has worked on DX, Xoom, and now the Bionic for me with no issues.
Same problem with microsoft notebook presenter mouse 8000
Same problem. Imposible to sync MS Mouse notebook . (Asus Transformer Prime TF201)

I have the wireless Apple Mighty Mouse that I use with my Mac and that paired up well with the phone.
I'm running the latest CM9 SELFKANG. The cursor works fine. Scrolling with the trackball is great. Clicking is fine. But it lags and locks up horribly on stock. Anyone else notice that?
Mouse Acceleration?
Do you have any mouse acceleration with the mice you have tried? I just tried to plug in a Logitech MX518 to the USB-port and i have terrible mouse acceleration (when you move the mouse slowly the mouse sensitivity is really low, but when you move the mouse fast the sensitivity is much higher).
I need to find a mouse that does not do this (or a program that will correct it).
I found a solution to this maddening issue!!!
Solution is very simple!
1) Download an app called bluetooth pairing in Play Store, its in japanese but all you need to do is click the magnifying glass icon, then click your device and hit the big blue button that comes next..
2) Disable and enable your bluetooth on the phone, the device is already paired
3) Select the device and it works perfectly.
Discovered this fix accidentally..
I use the Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000. Works awesome no need for a third party program the mouse cursor works fine and you can find tune the mouse cursor in the language and input settings of the settings menu. I really like using the scroll wheel and you can even use right click with in ES File Explorer.
I use this same mouse with my laptop.

Anyone tried a Razer Orochi mouse? That is the bluetooth mouse I want to pick up for my laptop since I hate dongles and am adding a bluetooth transmitter internally to the laptop. Would be nice to have a mouse that will work for both my laptop and for my DB with the lapdock. I know that with the lapdock most USB dongle wireless mice will work but I hate dongles and I know one day I'm going to lose the stupid thing and be SOL.

Apple Wireless Mouse and Keyboard

Hey Guys,
So im sitting in m office at work bored and i decided to see if i could use my Apple Magic Mouse with my Nexus 7 because i was already using the keyboard. After about 3 seconds i realized i could and its easy. For the Keyboard i had to power it on and hold the button for about 30 seconds and then it popped up in my bluetooth list. For the Mouse, i had tried just turning it on and it didnt show at first but i held down on the left click and then it showed up. you may not have to hold down on the left click but if it doesnt work try that. I can use the magic mouse to scroll between screens and webpages and all that.
Can I use a wireless mouse with an wireless keyboard?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Yeah both at the same time, it makes it a very portable computer. I have my work VPN through vpnC widget and my email through the built in app. Citrix through the reciever app, i can work everywhere i go and the magic mouse makes it really easy to scroll through the screens too. I used a Motorolla bluetooth keyboard built for the Atrix and had home key buttons and all that but every now and then it would put to many letters in the pain or have some weird scrolling issues. But the Apple mouse and Keyboard combo seems to work best. Essentially you could do this with a USB dongle and one of those combo bluetooth sets that have a usb reciever too but i think using the onboard bluetooth works better. You can have many device connected at once as well, i have a Bluetooth headset, keyboard, mouse, and sometime an OBD scanner and my (edit)Nexus Galaxy note running Tablet talk connected all at once.
