N9208, flashed custom 7.0 ROM and still network locked - Galaxy Note5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Anyone experienced this? Installed NN7_N920CXXU3CQC7_ONougat, with successful root. Phone still asking for unlock code. Network locked with Globe (Philippines), Samsung Note 5 dual sim.

i flashed a note 7 rom to my note 5 which again it changed the android id thats how the app verifys each phone and unlocks foir as long as u own that device. i had it backed up
app was sayin i didnt purchase it but again idone promptly took care of it
this came straight from them that the id had changed
as my model num and everything had changed too

Im using a N9208 locked from globe. Flashed it with latest Philippines (openline) from sammobile.
https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/121007/N9208XXS3BQA6_N9208OLB3BPJ2_XTC
did this before flashing any custom ROMs.

Who has received the HD7 8107 update?

I have T-Mobile USA and have not received it. T-Mobile USA says 7720 is the latest for the HD7, yet some folks say they have it. Do you have it, and did you force it?
Sent from The ACSyndicate Tower using XDA Windows Phone 7 App

Got it. Forced it. Followed this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1306415
Got tired of waiting. It was easy and the phone works fine.
Also forced mine, but can't find the article. I'm not unlocked.

Ok, all you need to do is read the rest of the article, especially update two where it states if your phone and setting no longer work to flash the language pack in the same way.

That is because you are not able to force the Firmware update that is pushed with this - it is the firmware update that fixes the MAC address issue. Surprising that T-Mobile US are not pushing the update for just this reason, pretty sure it is against regulations to have the MAC address changing!
I received a replacement HD7 and the tmobile rep swears the latest software is on it, I will post back shortly.....

I suspect it will be latest available on T-Mobile network, ie 7720!
Just got 8701 without forcing but got a zune notification instead. Bootloader upped too. Surprised.
Unlocked TMO HD7.
TMOUS updating the HD7 today finally. Got a total of 3 updates. 7740, then 8107, followed by an update from HTC. Not sure what the HTC update did. Anyone have any ideas?
Its the firmware fix that fixes the MAC address changing on reboot...

AT&T purchased/branded N6 are carrier locked. If device is paid off/ purchased outright, then you can request an unlock code from AT&T for free. Otherwise you can purchase from several 3rd party vendors for about $25.
ATT Nexus 6 comes network locked. Once unlocked, should work fine on any Canadian carrier. I suggest WIND MOBILE.
Thanks guys now I find out it might be a google play one .....is there a way to tell if its Sim locked? Thanks again

MetroPCS should be the T-Mobile version, at least to my knowledge. I believe MetroPCS is a prepaid company owned by T-Mobile.. Just as Boost mobile is the prepaid version of Sprint.

***Tmobile android 10 update

had the OTA update show up today for the tmobile oneplus 6t, it downloaded and verified fine, applied and requested a reboot. Result is = one bricked phone, cannot get to even bootloader. error message is "build version and HW version is not match". This was with the stock tmobile software...
If you read these forums, you'd see that method was only for Int'l phones. Find some posts made by me to find out how to flash Android 10 on T-Mobile branded 6Ts

Check page 407 of the Android 10 beta discussion. You have to download a payload extractor from https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=818070582850510260
No issues after flashing Google dialer.

Look 3 posts above at my reply. You have to download the OB1 zip and extract it using the tool I posted. Then flash through fastboot in the order that the post says. Bootloader must be unlocked. You can also download the patched boot.img with magisk.

Not go off topic, but I went from my Nexus 6 to the 6T. While I love the 6T, I still miss my nexus 6 and am even considering getting another one, although not sure if I would use it as my daily.

You don't have to flash the patched boot.img. With the stock boot.img you won't have root, the patched one will give you root access. Never lock your bootloader if your rooted.

Samsung's Find My Mobile , if the phone is formatted.

Hello experts...
I just lost my phone two days ago , it was stolen to be honest and i was able to track it for the first 5 hours using Samsung's find my mobile then it went offline.
I was using HadesROM with Samsung account logged in , i just want to know if i can track it again if its formatted or the stock ROM is flashed on it ?
NOTE : the police IMEI tracking service is not available on my country , they can only help me if i gave them the exact phone location.
Thank you.

No. Once wiped in any way that your Google / Samsung account isn't signed in, it is no longer possible.
The only thing you have left is the Factory Reset Protection which you most likely disabled to load your custom ROM.
That phone is officially the thief's now.

IMEI tracking (to my knowledge) can only be done by the carrier(s). This would of course mean that the phone would need a valid SIM inserted, and at least attempt to register to a network.
