P8 LITE 2017 Firmware update fails! - P8 Lite (2017) Discussion

Hello, im having issues with updating the firmware of my phone to a later version.
Current version is PRA-LX1C02B139, but after installing the new PRA-LX1C02B140 version, phone restarts and deletes the downloaded files, and stays at PRA-LX1C02B139.
Im a complete newbie to this, first "real" smartphone I ever got. Id like to avoid rooting, at least until my warranty is voided.
EDIT
The B140 update just rolled out, im expecting the rest to come out soon, and this one works

I have a problem too , i have middle east version i downloaded from carbon tesla b125 update ( im on b120 ) and i tryed to flash it, lt failed but when i reboot it gives me error msg that vérification has failed and choose to continue booting or going to recovery, hopefully its not a bootloop the phone works but every time i reboot i get that msg and it sucks i hate it lol

i've got my p8 lite 2017 today, and i've got the same problem, there's an update, but it does not install ... i've downloaded it completely, rebooted my phone ecc.
but the update ist not installed at all

I can answer, because the same happens to me .
From the settings menu, there is an update to the PRA-LX1C02B140 version.
You can download and update, but after restarting the phone, the current version of the phone is always PRA-LX1C02B139.
Mine is a brand Vodafone Italy.
The phone works perfectly, but it's annoying.
Greetings

hi, we can't upgrade with downloaded package like before....
The downloaded package can only be used to uncompress some files (like boot.img) but, not for restoring the firmware.
It seems that Huawei (or nougat related) introduce a validation while installing new firmware (wich is done when you make an OTA but not while using 3 buttons methods)
So maybe someone will discover something but for now, we have to live with OTA update.....

Hi there, I'm having exactly the same issue and I have a Vodafone Italy unit too. Additionally the phone keeps notifying me about the new version, which is really annoying. Any solutions?

guys I tryed to boot on the fastboot mod and it says bootloader unlocked FRP locked , what the hell ??? does that mean my bootloader is unlocked ? my phone is new and I never tryed to unlock the bootloader, can any one try please and tell if he get the same result ??

Same problem here! Any solution?

I have a solution... You need to make the update while having an Vodafone SIM card inside the phone...
Worked in my case, seems each operator might have slighty diferent updates.

from what i know it depends from your imei when huaei pushes updates
but it should only take a few days until you're getting the update as well

Hi all. I have a simple question. Why in my p8 lite 2017 version, the part of the system called firmware occupy nearly 7Gb of internal storage? Thank you

[Q] Note doesn't get updates

I know there are many threads asking the same question, and I've looked through many, but still haven't find an answer to my problems.
Just to clarify, my phone is not rooted, nor flashed, and I'm planning to leave it that way as long as possible, unless I really can't find any other solution for upgrading my phone
I've bought my phone in December, sim free, at mobile phone store in Serbia, and judging by the manuals language that I got in the box, its most likely imported from Hungary.
As soon as I've powered it on and connected to internet, I've got an update (OTA), which I installed as soon as I got home and plugged the phone to charger. Since then, I haven't got a single update, whenever I manually check I get "No updates!", and Kies says I have latest firmware, but im stuck on KK5 :S
It not big deal for now (even though I see that many people report improvements in newer firmwares, and I would also like that), but what about the ICS upgrade that will come in next month or two ?
Is there any way to force update, without flashing it manually or rooting the phone, or I'm stuck with this for good?
Is there anyone I can contact regarding this question who can give me any estimations ? Who is responsible for updates for sim free phones ?

If samsung have not still released new Firmware for your area, you won't get it.
Samsung never announce regarding release date for any ROM, Any region. You have to just wait till you get it.
Nobody can give you exact date of ICS release. wat we hearing is you can consider as Rumor.
You have always option to update your device manually. You can find all details in links of my signature.
May be CEO samsung Mr. H. B. Lee can answer, but i dont know how to contact
Thanks for your reply!
Well, I've read all your tutorials for now, and I will use them when I decide to start with rooting + flashing
What about that region changing ? There is no possibility to change region and get updates ?

Ya, you can change the region, but you'll wipe your phone.
Sorry to hijack the thread.
my 'about phone' is exactly the same as OPs, to the last detail. My handset was bought in the UK, and is unrooted as yet.
I'm on XEU csc and as far as I'm aware, I SHOULD have had an update by now? yet it still has not arrived. is this normal for a UK note XEU with KKA kernel/ KK5 baseband?
many thanks.

@turshija
i am also still on KK5. I am not sure what you expect from new update. Until official ICS update, you only can expect some small things, like safety patches. What i red on forums, latest update have only changes on keyboard (added numbers), and for me its not something special.
You will lose your warranty if you root your SGN, and i agree with you to not flash the phone during warranty period. Its not so cheap toy
On other hand, when i bought my alternative phone 2 years ago (HTC HD2), i installed Android after few days, because Windows made me felling like a grandfather. I am still playing with my HD2 after few hundreds times flashed ROMs, and now i am on ICS...and still enjoying my HD2 flashing and playing )), but comparing with SG Note, HD2 must be alternative phone
P.S. - We have absolutely the same version of SGN
@turshija and @tanzemyu, I too have identical version to you. Mine was bought from carphone warehouse in UK. At the last OTA upgrade (to 2.3.6 KKA) my phone wasn't rooted at the time, and I got it OTA - but a couple of weeks after the update was announced for carrier-free phones. I think it's therefore likely that CPW are for some reason holding up the OTA upgrade.
When 2.3.6 was out but I hadn't got it OTA, I looked into trying to change my CSC in order to get the OTA update but I found that CPW have put a non-changeable sales code on my phone "CPW" and I don't have the option to change the CSC.
As I'm now rooted I'm going to flash the update myself when I get around to it (as I think you lose root if you do an OTA??) - but IF you also bought from Carphone Warehouse, it's maybe worth you waiting anther week or too just in case an OTA upgrade does eventually arrive (I can't see why it wouldn't?)
Mine is identical. And it's from phones4u.

If it's any consolation, I'm having problems getting the Hong Kong firmware update. Looking at my proxy server logs it seems that I'm getting a 404 error:
TCP_MISS/404 835 GET http://software.sonymobile.com/ns/c...9946_200000000_1_HEuD3UGmWGzanNjFlaOyIhCr.bin - HIER_DIRECT/117.18.232.133 text/html
That .bin file is definitely not present, and it's causing the update process to fail. Very frustrating - as the non-Hong Kong firmware won't work with the NFC Octopus (similar to London Oyster cards) enabled SIM I have.

Hi,
I'm new here, first of all thanks for sharing this :good:
I would like to try it out, but I was wondering:
a) Why in the phone updater this update it's not recognized (mine is ALE-L21C432B170) ?
b) Can I change language or it will be in spanish only ? I guess so because actually looks like I can switch it.
c) If I want to rollback to the actual firmware, how do I do it ?
Thanks in advance for any answer
p.s. already asked in another thread but got no answers
@de_android
I downloaded the zip file, extracted it and put the dload folder in the internal memory, then went to updater and did the normal local update. It worked for me that way.
Mine was set using English language and after the update it stills. Actually, the update doesn't erase the phone, I think this happens if you update from another stable version, not from another beta.
I don't know exactly how you can make any rollback but I was on B188 and the update completed without any issues BUT, after the first restart, I'm receiving the notification telling that "Google Play Services won't run unless you update Google Play Services." I've received this message several months ago after a factory reset but I don't remember which GPlay Services APK I should install... can you guys give me a hand with that?
Edit: Just disregard my previous request, I just tapped the message and it opened Play with the option to update GPlay services. Another thing... It seems I've made a mistake upgrading from B188, this is because on that version I was experiencing the double tap issue when typing, I had understood that this issue is resolved in B190 and read that some people updating to this version of Android 6.0, are not experiencing this issue but I am so, it is probably because I updated from B188 with the double tap bug. I'll try to find some time to make the propper update process froma a version without the double tap bug... kinda annoying :/

From my perspective, this is half true... The updater do search for updates online but the availability of the update may vary depending on your phone's region and if your phone is running with a carrier build of the firmware. So, what we are doing, is getting the update file and making the update process locally before it is available in some repository that the updater app queries in order to update the phone. After putting the dload folder on internal or external memory you need to tap on "Menu" (bottom of updater) and then "Local update" and you should see the package to update. BTW, that last option to make local updates, disappeared after the upgrade.

According to the PDF contained in the zip file, you wouldn't be able to update that version.
PDF says that the following versions can be upgraded:

ALE-L21C432B194
ALE-L21C432B188
ALE-L21C432B170

I had B110 out of the box but Firmware Finder says B120 is available since March. It's very mixed up. Just going to stick with B110 and wait for an OTA
In my experience with the 2015 version (I doubt the story is different) I never received updates from the phone. I did them manually. This page has all versions of the official firmware for your device. If you want one, you can get it and install.
I contacted Huawei during the week about an EMUI 5.1 update, however they have no information yet

i have the b110 and they say to the zone c432 the update b164 is release last week and normaly take 15days to 30days to the phone recive the update and the b164 is preparatory to EMUI 5.1

Yes because i bought phone there, just inserted it to get update. For some reason Huawei devices need regional SIM inserted to receive update.

I finally Unlock Bootloader on my Mate 10 PRO successfully

After reading many things on internet i try HCU Client from DC unlocker and successfully unlock my bootloader.
I buy 4 credits on the site (1 credit = 1 euro) =, after that i install the drivers, download the update of client, put the phone in manufacture mode and a little pray, finally get a unlock code.
I just go to Tool all in one and try the code and finally unlock the Mate 10 Pro.

It's fine on Android 8, BUT it was patched in firmware starting June (some later). For example, on C432 it stopped working as of B145. B145 can be downgraded to B142 where it does work. B146 and later can not be downgraded.
For Mate 9 it's still working on latest Oreo.

If you're on C432B146 or later you can't downgrade due to new bootloader.

And finally works with new firmware and rebrand the phone from C25 (Claro Latin-america) to C432.
I used a guide from this site.
http://www.androidiani.com/forum/mo...-guida-aggiornamento-rebrand-magisk-root.html
And this is from here but the guide from the site it was more easy to follow.
I don't even understand the language of the guide but with google translator of chrome it was not a problem.
I was getting to many troubles with windows 10.
I got a second laptop and installed Windows 7 and everything works like a charm.
I use the drivers from DC-Unlocker for the Windows 7 and don't install the Hisuite.
Then for do everything I used the HWOTA8_Mate10
The firmware I used to apply to my phone came from here.
http://huawei-firmware.com/phone-list/huawei-mate-10-pro
And this is my phone now...

Omg I did it last last night aswell, rebranded it from version bla_l09 132 (768) up To bla_l09 156 (c432)
Succeeded rebranding C782B132 -> C432B156.
No issues on Windows 10 using latest Hisuite drivers and HWOTA8(Hisuite closed during process) and no need to apply OTA twice. Butter smooth!
I think this is the beta for L09 C432 of pie

Hi all,
Just got a BLA-L09 8.0.0.134(C34) and I'm keen to jump in here..
Can anyone point me in the direction / get a breakdown of each of the ROMs?
Really keen to get back to as stock as possible.
L09 choices as attached. Which one is stock? Is there a stock for a L09?
I note LOTS of choices at http://huawei-firmware.com/phone-list/huawei-mate-10-pro
Thanks in advance..

Hi, some of us have already rebranded to L09C432(EU unbranded) to get the latest Huawei updates. Latest official non-beta version is 8.0.0.156. However, be aware that rebranding takes a little work and risk, of course.

Thanks
Hoping to get basic, unbranded English firmware of any sort.
Thoughts?
Just had success getting unlock CODE via HCU client on Win7 (Fail on Win10)
Currently stuck with the unlock (using Tool All In One). Error in command window is: FAILED <remote: 'Command not allowed'>
Will have another crack tomorrow. Late here down under

Did you install latest drivers and checked ADB/Fastboot are working? Unlocking via AIO is usually straightforward.
I'm currently running BLA-L29 8.0.0.143 (C636patch01) I have the dual sim Mate 10 Pro. What software version should I be on? See that you guys are using BLA-L09 which I believe is a single sim. Isn't that for different hardware than my version?
I no longer have a windows 7 device. Will it work on windows 10 with the compatibility modes?
