Sim lock on Dutch S8 - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S8 Questions & Answers

Hi guys
Just bought a s8 via a auction site. Did not know that it has a t mobile simlock and i have another carrier (tele2). Can i sell it now or is it possible to remove the simlock by myself?

If the phone was paid in full by the person who sold it to you than you can request a unlock from T-Mobile. If it was financed and not paid for than it may be blacklisted and you would need to go thru a 3rd party to try and unlock it.
Keep in mind if blacklisted it will not work in the US on any GSM carrier.

[Q] Unlock AT&T

So, I asked the seller whether he could unlock the phone and request it online on AT&T website. And he said, currently the device can't be unlocked. He guessed that it's because he's not renewing his GoPhone acc since he's not using it anymore. If I buy, might anybody be able to help unlock it? It's off contract. It shouldn't be a problem right?

If it was brought from a carrier (ATT, Tmobile etc) and you have completed the contract or paid ETF or paid phone in full, you can contact the carrier.
They will unlock for free.

No. If you are on stock ROM, code should work.
I had phone in the same state (running kitkat, rooted with towelroot). When I completd/terminated my contract, got the code from ATT and it worked.
You can only try the code few times. After that phone will lock to the operator and no code will work after that (even if right one).
So make sure the ebay seller is giving you the right code for your IMEI.
If its under contract, even 3rd party seller may not be able to unlock. Check with them before you buy.
ATT has given me the unlock code in years gone by, even when I didn't have the phone paid off. I explained that I need local SIM-as-you-go accounts when traveling for work. (true BTW)

stolen tmobile s8

My tmobile branded s8 was recently stolen. It was fully paid off and unlocked. I should be receiving a replacement through Assurant soon.
Since the phone is unlocked already via the carrier can the thief still use it on a different carrier or on Tmobile? I would love to catch this thief if possible.
No if t mobile blacklisted it it wont work on anything but safelink wireless or tracfone services

T mobile network locked s10, Is it a brick for Inernational

Got a locked T Mobile from amazon by mistake, Can't replace it because i left the country.
Can i use it with a not t mobile sim?
It is android 10 sm-g973T and it doesn't register with another sim
From what I have read it seems I need to send it to the US to replace it...
If it's carrier locked, then no... it must be unlocked by Tmo before it can be transitioned to any other carrier.
Or you have to replace it with an unlocked phone, of course.
So they say I am not their customer, they will not unlock
Thanks!

Question S23 AT&T to SIM Unlocked ?

Hello,
I have gotten a new S23 (regular), which was a freebie from AT&T. My friend decided to be gracious and to give me one, however I am still dealing with SIM unlock. Is it possible it download a firmware like -U1 to work with my current carrier in Japan?
It's possible to flash it to U1, but it won't SIM unlock the device, just change it to the unbranded software. If you want it SIM unlocked, he either has to pay off the phone (its free after monthly credits) or you pay whatever shady service on Ebay to unlock it for you.

He traded a Note 2 for the phone (There is a deal at AT&T for any Samsung phone comes a free S23).
Yeah, after bill credits. Once the phone is paid off, they'll unlock it.
