MOD[Camera] Less Aggressive Sharpening | Noise Reduction - Moto G5 Plus Themes, Apps, and Mods

I've modified the calibration on the g5+ I've reduced noise reduction strength by using the calibration from the Google pixel also disabled luminance noise reduction left only color so image maybe a lil grainy.
In the chromatix libs I've disabled
Adaptive Bayer Filter - Blurs the image
ASF 5*5 7*7 9*9 - Sharpness the image
Chroma Suppression
CAC
To copy libs use Solid Explorer to copy the libchromatix to /system/vendor/lib/
The libmm lib also goes in the same vendor lib folder
Use Case Test it in low light it Bins the sensor in sum mode to collect more light by merging pixel charges but because binned the image res is reduced to to 2016 x 1512
I would backup your stock files before copying new ones happy testing

Awesome you can post sample shots in this thread too:good:

Please someone post before and after images

Made a few scripts to inject these files without rebooting.
I don't know why but it returns a lot of errors messages but it works nonetheless
I have added shortcuts of these scripts using FX file manager. So I can enable and disable these mods from a tap.

You think this could be done even on other devices?

I use Hex Workshop and manually map all the values I've mapped CPP fully 3A Partially ISP only important bits related to sharpening and blurring from there I can disable PR adjust strength I usually just disable them as the images work better for post processing applying filters etc

Should work in any ROM as there is nothing special done that would require a specific ROM. In fact you could duplicate these changes on another device with same chromatix version ie op3t pixel mi5 v20 mi5s etc

Can I use this mod on Moto Z Play?

[MOD] Better camera mod for TB Fusion, Kingdom port and RCMixHD V6xxx

After the N1 and Arc mods for better camera, here's my first release for DHD under the RCMixHD rom, tried it with V6.1.0.0
Mainly it's just a tweaked camera jpeg compression and buffer memory not a difficult work
Advantages:
Lowering jpeg compression means larger sized photos reaching up to 3.5mb each bringing up more details and less noises!
Be aware:
There is probably no difference when shooting in dark conditions, the size of the photos are the same BUT when shooting in daylight the difference is huge!
Install:
1 -You need root
2 -For Kingdom and RCMix roms: Download the file media_profiles.zip and rename zip to xml
For TB Fusion roms: Download the file media_profiles.cab and rename cab to xml
3 -You can use Rootexplorer to copy paste the file into /system/etc or push it via ADB:
-adb devices
-adb remount
-adb push media_profiles.xml system/etc
-adb reboot
4 -REBOOT
how about some screenshots? if the app is the same would love some sample before/after pictures..
and what about other roms?
maybe changing the values in another ginger rom(media_profile) the result is the same , no?????
it is for gingerbread base rom 2.36.405.8 , put it in system/etc
rename .txt in .xml
I has found it long time ago!! Thanks! it's so great!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyway to increase camcorder bitrate? I've tried in media_profiles but with no luck..,.
There are numerous video profiles in this xml, perhaps we should tweak them all!
There are minimum and max in each like for jpeg,so if you don't have a ''rich'' scene to record (good light and lot of colors) the video bitrate will not use the max settings
tested and aprouved on Coredroid ROM v6

But after I changed minimum value, bitrate shouldn't drop below this. It stays at ~10mbits. I'm pretty sure that video recording bitrate can be only tweaked in kernel.

[APP] Raw Dumper v3.5.0 - taking RAW pictures on the Zenfone 2 [EXPERIMENTAL][ROOT]

Hi!
After a HUGE amount of work, it's finally here!
Raw Dumper is a simple camera app for taking RAW pictures on the Zenfone 2 (ZE551ML)
(Intel-based smartphones rocks!)
Q: What's a RAW picture?
A: Jpeg pictures are processed, meaning that multiple image processing algorithms (debayer, white balance, tonemap, sharpening, saturation, noise reduction, jpeg lossy compressing, etc) were applied; they usually retain about 1/10 of their original data.
A raw picture, however, is taken directly from the camera sensor and all captured data is preserved, leaving to the user the decision of how the image is going to look.
Since they retain all data, raw pictures occupy more storage space (A single raw 13-megapixel photo use 23 MB, on the Zenfone 2 ZE551ML).
Q: How is this possible?
A: There is a hidden camera parameter on Intel-based phones that does the trick. It's mentioned in a system library called Intel Camera Extensions (that library also enables other camera features). However, the raw feature doesn't need the library to work.
Q: The pictures captured with this app are really RAW?
A: Yes, because the captured data has the Bayer pattern, the right size and has a lot of lens shading around the image's borders (the app tries to remove the lens shading, so you probably won't appear in your photos).
Some important notes:
I'm not responsible for bricked phones, broken phones/cameras/images or thermonuclear war
It is REALLY experimental
It's currently being tested on Zenfone 2 (ZE551ML) - but it should work on ZE550ML too
This app WILL NOT work on phones with non-Intel processors (Qualcomm, Samsung...)
It should work on Marshmallow stock rom
For working on custom roms that uses LL camera blobs (like Lineage OS), is required to patch the camera lib
It REQUIRES root (otherwise the camera subsystem will drain your internal storage by making another copy of every raw picture taken it in a root-only system directory; currently, there's no workaround to fix this )
The DNG pictures will be saved in /sdcard/DCIM/RawDumper (they can be opened using Snapseed, Darktable, RawTherapee and Adobe Lightroom)
It should work on the Razr I and Zenfone 5 too, but I haven't tested them properly because I don't own these devices
It only works with the Zenfone Zoom's front camera (the back camera requires the development of a specific custom kernel)

Wasn't Asus Zenfone 2 unable to capture RAW images due to the restriction from sensor of the camera itself?
Testing, let's see how it works!
Also I've downloaded your project from github, I'm so curious about the structure.

Every picture you take using a digital camera was raw in some point of its processing. Of course, some camera sensors do all the processing inside and only dump the ready-made JPEG (this is not the case of the Zenfone 2). But, in theory all sensors (dumb VGA webcams, point-and-shoot cameras, DSLR professional cameras, smartphone cameras) could be capable shooting in RAW. In smartphones, most of the time, the limitation is on the camera software, not in the hardware. The Zenfone's (and other Intel) raw shooting ability is just a little bit hidden

It's quite simple, is just a simple camera app with lots of hardcoded stuff (I'm going to fix it, don't worry hahaha). I just wanted to publish something to show is possible to shoot in RAW on the Zenf2. I'm planning to clean up the code and add some nice manual/auto ISO and shutter speed in the next versions (I've tested and these features work perfectly with RAW )

Because the sensor used in the Zenfone 2 ZE500CL is different. Unfortunately, the app needs some specific information about the camera sensor to generate the DNG files. However I'm planning to make the app smarter to get all this specific sensor info automagically so it could work on a wider range of phones

My experience is the Gcam apps don't use the camera config xml, only the oem camera app that comes with the lgv30. The Gcam ports, some of them, have 'night vision', which work very well in low light shots.
How would one even apply this to the default camera?

That would depend on your phones setup, but, most have rooted devices with magisk installed. If that's the case for you, then you'd have to have a magisk module that would 'seamlessly' make the changes in your root directory.
In this link I created a module for the 4k video 60fps change. It would be pretty easy for someone to modify the config xml in that module and apply this change.
cheers
Would it be as simple as deleting the folders containing media details XML and replacing the camera config with this one?

Question Disabling post processing on stock Gcam possible?

Im very disappointed by the post processing the stock Gcam forcefully adds to every picture taken and im wondering if its possible to disable that in some developer options. Mainly the extreme contrast and sharpening. Google also disabled the function to select a different photo app as default which sucks. I stumbled over sometthing called lib-Patcher for Gcam on Reddit but have no idea how to use it.
I hope someone can help me since that would be the only big negative i noticed on my Pixel 7 so far.
You can do JPEG + RAW to be able to edit the photo yourself.
Open the camera, bring down the menu in the top left corner. Tap more settings, tap advanced. You will see the toggle there.
Note that these photos will still be pixel binned to 12MP.

Yes i know that, but that again requires lots of colorgrading since the "raw" pictures are a grey .dng with some kind of log-profile. If i take the picture and go to the gallery asap i can see the original nice picture for about a second and then it get the extreme sharpening and contrast added. That is the step i dont like. It makes Green grass and leaves look very grey and ugly because it only adds contrast and sharpening to already green mushy blobs. Similar stuff on the Shadows. If its already dark it doesnt need contrast and sharpening.
Hmm I have no idea then.
Secure Camera - Apps on Google Play
Modern camera app focused on privacy and security with QR / barcode scanning.
play.google.com
No post processing.
However, some of the post processing is done at the HAL level. There's nothing you can do to disable that.

Thank you, I'll look at that camera app. Im only talking about the processing after taking the picture btw. I can see the picture changing in my gallery.

The pictures look very pleasing and without the post processing, very nice! But there is no manual mode or am i missing something? EV-compensation for control is fine but i would like to have a slider for whitebalance too, is this not a thing with this app?

White balance would be a post-processing enhancement, wouldn't it?
In any case, contributions (which could be code or feature requests) can be made at the project repository; https://github.com/GrapheneOS/Camera

The post post processing. I can see a very nice picture and then it gets changed AGAIN.
One way is to reduce sharpening and contrast in photos app or snapseed
Here's an idea, sell the pixel, get something else. Main point of Pixel is its photo processing.

How about NO? The main point of pixel is UNLOCKABLE and AOSP.
Un-install google photos and install Simple Gallery. Maybe that will help you overcome your post-processing problem ?

Its the camera application, not the gallery application.

Can you recommend one with 6-6,3", uncurved screen, stock android and a great camera system?

Xperia 5 IV? A lot better camera system, P7 has only one good camera, the main one. Xperia has 3. Pixel has better software for picture processing but that was your problem so maybe better of with other products
To your problem, can you download a gcam mod? Those have a ton of settings, HDR levels etc.
