You need to mount "system" at the TWRP before starting to flash.
The button "Mount" is in the main menu in TWRP.

OTA has come. What now?

The OTA has just come. I have rooted phone with twrp recovery installed.
What to do now?
As I have read the forum, I should from http://forum.xda-developers.com/ascend-p7/development/recovery-t2811965 install back “Huawei Ascend P7-L10 thanks to XQC”, and that is it?
The phone will be unrooted, so I have to root it again.

The zip file (* Huawei Ascend P7-L10 thanks to XQC) on [RECOVERY][ Unofficially Open Recovery TWRP 2.8.1.0 ][ 09/11/2014 ] thread consists of two recoveries: recovery.img and recovery2.img.
I believe that I should flash recovery.img, shuldn't I?

OK, thanks. I will do the procedure now.
Regards, and thanks again.
Well, the update has failed.
I am informed to go to the http://www.emui.com/motiondownload.php?mod=restore which doesn't work.
I was able to shutdown the phone and to reboot it again.
Apon booting the phone I got the message that update has failed and by clicking on it I went to the update screen.
Looks like huawei is checking wheather the phone is rooted or something else.
What to do now?
Install stock recovery and then update through OTA. You cannot use OTA with custom recovery.
You didnt read update notes ("make sure your phone has not been rooted...").

I have installed stock recovery in the following way:
1. I have downloaded a zip file (* Huawei Ascend P7-L10 thanks to XQC) from [RECOVERY][ Unofficially Open Recovery TWRP 2.8.1.0 ][ 09/11/2014 ] thread
2. I have unpacked recovery.img from zip file
3. As a root, I have used adb reboot bootloader, fastboot flash recovery recovery.img, fastboot reboot
4. Now I have downloaded and started the update
I believe that this is enough.
Do I have to unroot the phone before update?
Is the stock recovery from the twrp thread OK for this update?

update failed please try again
I have option to shutdown the phone and that is basically it.

Let's go in this step by step!
1. Confirm which recovery you have installed, 2.3 or 3.0. If you did not flash official Emui 3.0 than you need emui 2.3 official recovery. Official recovery you can extract from official Emui 2.3 ROMs (you will need 2.3 ROM also for flashing).
2. Flash the needed recovery (if needed).
3. After downloading official 2.3 ROM, open it and check if there is a folder "dload". On that folder should be a file "update.app". Copy the folder "dload" together with it's content on the root of your SD card.
4. Go to settings -> update -> local update and start update (local update) , if local update does not work than try force update.
5. Confirm on the forum
How to confirm recovery version?
<3e>?

[ROM] Oxygen OS 3.2.5 untouched system.img + boot.img (twrp + fastboot)

If someone wants to make mirrors or a flashable zip, feel free to contact me and I will update thread
I've got my new OP3 today and what I've noticed that it runs with Oxygen OS 3.2.5. So I have looked around and saw that nobody backed up their 3.2.5 und uploaded it so I decided to do it.
Here is the download link: https://mega.nz/#!PJhzRDyL!wX12zmq9ptiu8gNbtfQfypB2Q6wGdu3IfNFFwi9acQk
The only requirement is an unlocked bootloader as fastboot doesn't allow to flash on locked devices
How to install:
via twrp:
- boot into twrp recovery
- press "install"
- press "install image" on the bottom right
- select the image and confirm on which partition it should flash
(not recommended) via fastboot:
- boot into fastboot
- use these commands to flash it:
ignore the little warning message and pe patient because it can take a while till you get a response from cmd because fastboot splits the image into 6 parts
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash system system.img
Note: if your phone isn't booting, flash supersu and it should boot.

then did a reboot.

Then there is probably no way to install this to your device, as a user already said that using fastboot does not work.
I also think that your bootloader should be unlocked for this to work.

SuperSU is not needed, why should it be? With this you overwrite the whole System partition, thus removing all mods including SuperSU and Xposed.
waiting for someone to confirm the LTE issue resolution.. if it's resolved, I'll flash this ASAP..

Pick your brain for a moment if you don't mind...
Still having issues with both methods... in TWRP, at the install image screen i'm only getting boot and recovery partition options, supposed to have system too right?
Fastboot it hangs for a moment at an error of something about invalid sparsing but continues to flash, apparently successfully, but when i reboot system it just boots back to recovery.

Hi,
You've just flashed the MM stock rom via twrp, but you forgot to uncheck mount system readonly on twrp mount settings, that's why stock recovery been replaced with twrp.
The pic you've posted is of stock recovery, now you've stock rom with stock recovery installed, if you wanna flash twrp / root, then just download this tool , -then follow steps, unlock bootloader and flash custom recovery like twrp /Philz.

Not being able 2 boot into custom recovery waz the initial problem from the start. And I didn't read anywhere in ur instructionz just how one is supposed 2 get around (MM) 2 boot into custom recovery 2 b able 2 flash ur update file? So could plz elaborate on just how one goez about doing that? I think I & a lot of other people would most certainly be most appreciative. Thank u sachin.

R.Flash
and MI PCsuite will search proper update for you
FOURTH : Just wait until the download is done, then it will be updated
*NOTE THAT IF YOU DONT WIPE DATA BEFORE UPDATING;
FIRST UPDATE WILL BE FAILED
but dont be sad (lol)
TRY ONE MORE TIME
(at 81-83% MI PCSuite will show that the update is failed but your phone is still booting, why? because the data of 8.2.0.2 is a modified rom and updater will crash)
Current Update is 7.6.1
7.6.1 :WEB APPS OFFICIAL SUPPORT
QUICK CHARGE INDICATOR
ETC ETC
Good Luck.
FOR ROOTED USERS WITH TWRP:
Flash like any other ROM.
FLASH SUPERSU OR CHANGE THE BOOT.IMG TO EU OR ANY OTHER MODIFIED BOOT.IMG
(IF NOT BOOTLOOP)
or use this method: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=72576697&postcount=23

Have you tried via recovery?
Does that mean I need to rename the rom to update.zip and flash in recovery?
Installing via twrp gives you bootloop

Why leak? It's official global developer OTA ROM...
Yesterday I received it over air under previous global developers ROM 7.5.15...

It's labeled "Leak" because it's not officially announced by Xiaomi.

The language changed to wtv language your phone is on. I tried via twrp and got bootloop. tried via recovery with eu rom and nothing happened. I'm going to try the recovery again but on chinese stable or dev next.

Probably not possible unless you're already on the global stable 8.2.0.2 rom.
Edit: after trying with recovery on china dev, no good. Can't verify. Unless we have tgz file
if you are on chinese stable try this method
unlock bootloader (must have!)
fastboot boot twrp-3.1.1.0-sagit-v2.img (must be this version)
in TWRP
wipe-format data
copy ROM to internal storage (while still in twrp)
flash rom
restart
enjoy ROM
---------- Post added at 04:50 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:44 PM ----------
if method gives bootloop, you should encrypt your files prior to boot
after flashing the rom, flash chinese orig recovery, restart recovery and choose 2nd option, 2nd option (a red message will appear). its ok, chose the only option available, and voila a green message will apear.
now first option to reboot and that's it your phone will boot (hopefully).
I talk about options because the only mi 6 original recovery i found is chinese so i don't understand anything.
But... as far as i can understand it will make a factory reset and will encrypt your files again.
without encryption miui won't boot. (don't know why though)

Yup, you're right. It was the encryption that was preventing it to boot. 2nd method mentioned worked. Thanks :good:
yeah, i got mi6 with eng bootloader now, i can see that the second option is wipe data/factory reset, so finally steps would be
unlock bootloader (must have!)
fastboot boot twrp-3.1.1.0-sagit-v2.img (must be this version)
in TWRP
wipe-format data
copy ROM to internal storage (while still in twrp)
flash rom
restart recovery
now should boot mi recovery
choose wipe data (second option)
restart system
enjoy ROM
please more confirm on this tutorial, thanks!
hmm, if i unlock bootloader, i wont receive any fota right ?
no, if you install official rom always will be ota

You can, my previous thread on MIUI was deleted. I was violating the forum rule for sharing the link.
see below for flashing method without unlocking;

[Share][Translated] [LR.Team] Redmi 6 Custom Recovery

This is a custom recovery made by LR.Team and I translate the flash tool.
I don't have enough premission so I post it here.
This recovery can automatically decrypt /data partition.
I already tested it on my redmi 6.
Just follow the instruction in the flash tool after you decompress it.
!!UPDATE HERE!!

Thanks for this share. Can you give more details about your usage? Are you running MIUI and did you have to flash Disable DM-Verity? Did you have any difficulties getting this recovery running? E.g. black screen etc.
I had a look at the recovery-twrp flash tool.bat file. It seems to use the usual "fastboot.exe flash recovery" BUT it also flashes an additional file (fastboot.exe flash para misc.bin >NUL 2>NUL) and flashes misc.bin. Can you confirm what misc.bin is and where did you get this custom recovery?
This information would be helpful to everybody else
Yes, I'm running on MIUI 10 and it works perfectly fine for me. Unlike the official TWRP, you don't need to format data for this. So all of your applications and files will still stay in place.
For me, I just went into fastboot mode and use the tool to flash it. Nothing goes wrong.
Also, this recovery use a default password to unlock the /data partition. So you don't have to flash anything else to get this to work.
IDK what is that misc.bin tho
I already linked the source in the post.

What do you mean. This twrp itself can decrypt data.
There's no need to flash lazyflasher.

Really? Are you trying to say that root is always temporary and after a few reboots we will always have to enter recovery to re-install Magisk? What about SuperSU?
Does anybody know the reason for this replacement? Maybe this will help us figure out how to prevent Magisk from being overwritten...
Thanks for this recovery.
But, at every boot I have this message “Android System there's an internal problem with your device.Contact your manufactirer for details.".
How to delete it.
It is possible to relock bootloader ?
