Would somebody be able to explain step wise how to install this zip, where i tried to do so ones but ended up bricking my phone and needed a new motherboard (which has been replaced under warranty by HTC thank god). I have now an unlocked bootloader through the HTC site but if i want to s-off via sunshine i need to relock bootloader. Each time i do so my phone stalls at the HTC image when booting..:crying:.. So it seems i am stock at s-on

Hi everyone. I have a question some these roms will work it on A56DJ_UL?.
Thanks

Hi OP,
I downloaded the RUU collection 'DUGL' Version(India), when I unzipped by 'Winrar' it showed the message that the file is corrupt and in the unzipped section I found only 2 files. The download was paused for sometime, when I switched from one hotspot to another as my data balance on the 1st hotspot was less than 1.2 GB. Do you think, it might be the reason(I resumed download from the 2nd hotspot) ? Should I download again? Another thing I wanted to know is : After unzipping the correct zip/rar file, how can I proceed to flash stock ROM? Does the unzipped files contain any exe file, that will tell how to do it on the screen?

File corrupt !
I had downloaded twice the zip file for A56DJ_DUGL and while extracting it says "file corrupt" and there are only 2 nos file in the extracted folder. I lost 2,4 GB ! I have to search for the required filke somewhere else.

RUU files are signed and encrypted.
One does not simply "extract" the contents, nor is there any need to, if you just want to flash it.
Either flash the RUU as it is supposed to be flashed, many guides on the various HTC forums on this basic process.
Or, you can use the HTC RUU Decryption utility that is also posted here on XDA, to decrypt the RUU and pick it apart if that's your goal...

I tried following your advice and tried flashing my HTC Desire 10 Lifestyle using your RUU, but was getting an error which states that the file is corrupt.
My Error was: Target didn't report max-download-size
I used twrp and supersu to root my device.
Can you advice me on where I can download an RUU for my device and Flash it?

Please
Does anyone have the rom of the a56_dj_ul version? And if you can upload it please. Sorry for my poor english

Hi,
excuse me but are you sure that it will work fine on HTC Incredible S ? even if the phone is not rooted ?
I think that the Incredible S is protected (see in google : Root Incredible S signed)
and I can't risk my phone but I need to have the arabic language on my Incredible S
@sahbibenayed
This is probably an official (and HTC signed) ROM.. so you should be able to install it on your phone without any problem.
Still i take no responsibility in what happens to it!!
Thank you
Was waiting for an Arabic rom.
Should the phone be in any particular mode? I.e. bootloader or hboot for the ruu app to recognize it?

Has anyone successfully got this to work? I must be doing something wrong because I'm getting the following error:

P.S. I just downloaded the .exe file, connected my Incredible S and opened the .exe file. Is this the correct way?

Sorry to ask this noob question, but Incredible S is my first Android phone. Do updating to this RUU (Arabic enabled) will prevent or cause any issues when HTC release its stock Android 2.4 next month ?
I managed to gold card my phone. I set my usb connection to charge only with usb debugging on and tried to install the RUU but I got error 131 again. Did I missed something here ?
I repeated the whole process 2 times with no luck ...

It will be in there, if you open rom.zip and find firmware.zip inside that, its in that zip (recovery.img), just pull it out, however the problem is, the RUU's and zip's tend to be encrypted.

[Q] flash stock google edition splash screen???

Hello,
so I am usually running my htc one as google edition, however I wanted to test the new 4.4.3 update of sense stock rom, so converted back to normal htc one. Now after testing, I have moved back to GPE, by flashing firmware and restoring from my cwm backup and everything works but I still see the original htc splash screen?
I can't find in any firmware.zip from google edition OTA's the original GPE slash screen files (splash1.nb0 etc?). So can someone please help out and link a .zip with the original GPE splash screen files, please?? :crying:

you can download any GPE Rom and extract the files from it
their located in system/customize/resource
and they are zip files, htc_bootup_one.zip htc_downanimation.zip, att_bootup_one.zip are all on my phone

Don't think the bootanimation files will have the splash screen image that the OP is looking for.
Orginator, check through the Themes & Apps sub-forum for the custom splash screen threads. Someone may have uploaded the splash screen you want there. If not, one way to get it would be to download a decrypted RUU for GPE. Then you can extract the splash1.nb0 file and flash that in RUU mode. But that's a huge download for a 5MB file. Maybe someone who has the RUU can pull the file and upload for you.
I usually get the decrypted RUUs from http://www.htc1guru.com/, but the site appears to be down right now.

Guess I'll have to download the RUU, as the stock splash linked in that topic is the one from HTC One Sense and not the google edition! Well I'd like to anyways thank everyone who tried to help out, you guys rock nonetheless !

[Q] (Q) can you help with 5.05.651.2 RUU flashable zip?

I flashed a gsm rom on my sprint m7, which put it into a bootloop....
I tried the firmware fix , but ended up with signature failures.
I haven't been able to get the RUU.exe to run on my windows 8 machine.
Wondering if anyone can supply me with 5.05.651.02RUU flashable zip?
I've searched, and see a bunch of flashable firmwares, but non for 5.05.651.02.
Or maybe a solution to my ruu.exe problem? I've tried the guides supplied in this forum, but still can't get passed the installation screen.
Thank you !

No, just install wizard "loading" . when its done it either freezes the computer , or does nothing.
I have tried to open it using "compatibility" which tells me to use win 7. But no luck.
Looking for a way to just push it too the phone. Seems easiest.

I can use 6.16.651.2 flashableRUU ?
The phone is unusable right now, bootloops. I thought I had to be s-off to flash anything but the firmware that's present. Am I wrong?
My end game was to use the phone on at&t. I thought I could flash a gsm ROM to accomplish that.
Can I still s-off and sim unlock lollipop? Or at least s-off and downgrade?
Thanks for the help
I tried downloads from here:
[RUU][Firmware]Sprint HTC One | 6.16.651.2 | *Updated 2.10.15*
And I also tried the RUU from the official HTC website.
And I also tried the ripped "firmware only" from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2503646
There is an ruu in that thread that has a fastboot flashable zip. You might want to read through how to run it on your device. You shouldn't ever flash a gsm Rom to a Sprint phone. The mount points are different.
Solution: get a new computer.
Not sure what was going on but I could not get the ruu to run on windows 8.1. Drivers, adb, fastboot all working on the computer. I couldn't find the problem.
Dug up an old windows XP machine I have , worked in an instant.
No knowledge gained.
The RUU exe take a lot of RAM to run. please make sure you have no other programs running when running the exe. If you device is stuck in a boot loop try power the device down and into recovery mode. Then connect to terminal when the RUU ask to connect to the device. My guess is the the RUU is corrupt and try re-downloading the file. If all else fails relock the boot loader and try returning to stock.

HTC Desire 510 - Problem overwriting memory block

Hi Guys,
Step 1.
I've dumped /dev/block/mmcblk0p3 which is called "Board info"from my HTC onto my computer and opened it with Hex editor.
Step 2.
This file contained some data and CID followed by IMEI. I've edited the CID to 11111111 HOPING that I'll get a superCID. I've overwritten the existing /dev/block/mmcblk0p3 file with my modified file. Operation succesfull and no problems shown by ADB.
Step 3.
I verified if I've done Step 2 correctly by repeating Step 1 and surprisingly the /dev/block/mmcblk0p3 doesn't seem to be overwritten which makes me really sad and I'd really appreciate if someone would be so kind enough to help me by answering why are my changes not taking effect ?
P.S. I've had the whole /dev partition remounted to be read/write as well as that to be extra sure I've changed permissions to 777 for /dev/block/mmcblk0p3 but I'm stuck at step 3, the only answers that come to me are that either I'm doing something wrong or the phone doesn't allow me to overwrite mem blocks.

Thanks for your answer, I wasn't aware of that. You probably know the next question though - How do I get S-OFF ? I've tried an app called *SunShine* but I've had no success with it because it threw an error saying that I need to have a different ROM for the app to work. Ironically the reason I want superCID is to get a different ROM onto my phone ...

Sunshine does work 100% I can vouch for it. You simply need to go back to complete stock by using an RUU once your phone is completely stock including the stock recovery you can either ask me here for help with it or find @jcase over on his website theroot.ninja and I'm sure he will be more than happy to assist you with it... One other thing though if you're using a 64 bit phone it's not going to work with the sunshine app.

I have stock RUU downloaded and waiting but I can't install it because it's CID doesn't match with my phone CID. That's why I want superCID and that's what I meant when I said I want to get a "different ROM on my phone" , I should have made myself clearer in the last post. I'm currently running CynanogenMod 12.
So far I've tried the GoldCard maneuver and dumping memory block followed by hex editing and re-dumping it onto my phone (hence this thread) as well as the above mentioned SunShine app.
It feels like I'm drastically running out of options here, do you have any other advice ?

You really don't even need to be going through any of that crap if all you want is to use another rom... All you need to do is get an unlock code from HTC by giving them the token from your phone then you flash the unlock_code.bin and then flash a recovery of your choice I use twrp 3.0 at the moment because it's the newest one and make sure it's specifically for the HTC Desire 510 or it won't work after you flash the recovery you make a backup of your system before doing anything else so you have something to fall back on just in case and then you download the rom you want to either the sd card in the phone or to a computer and flash it and voila new rom... I suggest you search how to unlock the HTC Desire 510 bootloader and then search for how to root the HTC Desire 510 and after you read the step by step instructions you'll be able to get the rom on your phone... You'll need to install minimal adb and fastboot to c: drive to flash anything at all so download that too.

I've got it all done otherwise I wouldn't be running CynanogenMod 12 which I mentioned above. The thing is I don't have the backup I made for my original ROM. After an extensive research I've found a stock ROM which is suitable for my phone but it is not in the form of an image or zip file. It's a .exe Rom Update Utility (RUU) hence I'm dealing with all the stuff I've outlined in my previous post and looking for more help.

Yes, Precisely CM 12.1-20151110-UNOFFICIAL-a11ul by patrik. Yes, my phone is 64 bit indeed. As for the carrier I've bought my phone unlocked so I don't know the original carrier, however, after investigating into my CID which is HTC__052 it turns out that Tesco is my carrier BUT I was using my phone with Vodafone UK the entire time and that's the RUU that I was trying to flash onto my phone with no success so far...

Because the Vodafone' CID isn't HTC__052 so you'll need to flash the Tesco one and you really don't have much of a choice at this point because there's no s-off for the HTC Desire 510 64bit and you unfortunately cannot change your CID without being s-off so your best bet to get stock back is to use Tesco if there's even one available.

Where are you downloading the rom from so I can look at it on my system and see if I can change the CID of it to match your phone.

I'm not sure which one you downloaded since it's showing me a whole list of them. If you find that the files are corrupted that's why they won't work.. in any case, do you have the unlock_code.bin from HTC? Save it forever.
Download this and place it in the backup folder on your sd card and then boot into recovery and flash it...

Are you sure? Did you try to boot it? Some people even have to extract the boot.img and flash it after the installation process finishes. What recovery are you using? Did you do a wipe on the partitions before flashing?
Yes I booted it and prior to writing my previous post I opened up the fastboot and tried fastboot flash of boot.img that I've extracted from that archive, the phone rebooted and that's about it, no changes made.

I changed it to match your CID so it would work. I made it awhile ago I just had it on the sd card so I changed the CID to yours and uploaded it.
