I am not an expert but I think if you download an original rom from needrom.com, you can find and extract what you are looking for.
I already did that and I've unpacked rc5 lollipop ROM for jiayu s3. Rummage inside /system/app/Launcher3.apk. Extracted Launcher3.apk and gutted it using 7zip, looked inside ever folder in it for anything picture related but I found none. Hence I'm here.
Ifs probably inside the ROM but I just don't know where its location.

Download the dump from the nexus development forum. The thread is called "Dumps" or something. Then take the launcher or touchwiz and extract it n in the drawable folders u'll find the static wallpapers

I actually don't have a Galaxy, i have a droid and i wanted to put the galaxy WP on it, they look awesome! could you assist?
As Daneshm90 said, go into the Nexus forums, search for the "Dump" of the Galaxy S, download it, extract it, go to /system/app and extract the TouchWiz.apk with winrar / winzip / whatever ^^

Lol what ? Let me clarify.
This build is odexed, hence theming/porting is very hard, however wallpapers are not affected by a build being odexed.
Ok so i found the wallpapers.
K there a lot of other image besides the wallpapers that are actually quite appealing. So i've uploaded two things
This: just the wallpapers
This: every apk in the dump extracted, all u have to do is for eg in windows 7 open the folder and type "Picture" and u'll see all of em.

I'm working on a design theme for different launchers and roms.
I need those icons to make the theme look as much as possible as the S3 Mini.
I need all the icons that are shown as standards in the app drawer, including the folder icon.
And no worries, i will not be making an amature theme with designs and icons that comes from several separate systems.

you can extract them with a script. download the rom, uncompress the tar. use the script from my posting.

I was looking around this forum and through google for a stock/original samsung galaxy s3/s4 boot animation that is for ROMs that uses sets of image frames as bootanimation like my devices which are Cherry Mobile Flame 2.0/Karbonn S1 Titanium/K-Touch Lotus II/Kiss U86 and Cherry Mobile Flare/Karbonn A9+. But I can't find any. Mostly I found are QMG files which are compatible for Samsung devices only. So, instead, I decided to make one. I wanna upgrade my old cellular phone to something fresh. I saw the new samsung galaxy s4 and Nokia's Lumnia. These are really great smartphones. Yet, my budget is kind of small, so I'll just have to settle on something ore simple.
Can anyone give me advise about the galaxy s3? Or should o go for windows 8 smartphone?

You're not supposed to flash in recovery... It's not a flashable zip. You extract the first pack, push it to system/media and set permissions to rw-r-r. Then with the other two files, you use the flasher in fastboot mode, and the OP provided a link to the flasher.
...Unless the flasher is aborting installation...
But that sounds to me like CWM's abortion script.

I have a Verizon Galaxy S4 and I find that ROM Toolbox Pro offers the easiest and safest method for doing such modifications. It even has the option to convert any GIF file into a zip animation file and does all the tedious work for you instantly. Its worth the few bucks you pay on the play store. Anyways, hope this helps a few of you out there. Ha, I usually ask myself "I wonder if there's an app for that?"

I've recently downloaded a software file for the Tab A (it's Lollipop 5.0.2) and extracted its content to check out the apks in app and priv app, and to my surprise, this tablet actually has all the apps and weather widgets that comes with the Galaxy S6.
Since the Android version is exactly the same as the one on our Tab S, I was wondering if anybody would be interested in helping me port those apks ? So far I've deodexed them and I've tried replacing the SystemUI as well as the Framework-res but I get a bootloop.
Maybe someone with more experience in porting apks would be interested ?
I can upload the System Dump if anybody wants, just PM me.

Great idea! Surely, using systemUI and framework will crash if you use them. Ummmm, what we can do to port is copy and paste parts, and look over and compare it to ours. I have only ported themes so, trying to replicate everything would be a challenge. Can you post the systemui.apk, framework-res, and anything else that works. I might see and try to port, so no guarantee if I can. ☺ Thanks!

I'd love a port as the 5.02 update for the tab s was quite underwhelming for me. Samsung should have unified software, no wonder updates are so slow!

Hey guys just need a tester to verify for me that my Theme Park or the individual themes I've ported work for the Note4 as well. Theres over a 100 to choose from: You must have S6 Apps or be using an "S6 Ported" ROM to have really good results otherwise results may very as to how well or full the theme will appear.
100+ THEMES FOR S6 PORTED APPS ON NOTE 4, 3, S5& S4
Individual Themes (a directory, download a zip and flash in FlashFire or Custom Recovery)
If you cant get a certain app to theme its more than likely not a good port. I recommend Albe95's Ports their great!
I also would like my Theme Park tested it does a little more than just visual theme:

You can use the Theme Park no matter what kind of ROM your on because theres themes for Lollipop or for S6 Lollipop!
to Install download the .zip and run through Custom Recovery, it is built with Aroma!

Im the same way which is what the dOPE Layers Theme Park is all about ya bum lol its 1 file that is a zip that you flash and pick from a bunch of different themes! so whats your excuse now
v2 of the theme park will let you pick multiple themes and which part of the phone to theme with selected theme

not sure that it would be possible. this uses bitsyko's layers in order to theme. im looking into it. ive been trying to convert the themes to layers manager - playstore type of packages if anyone knows how to easily let me know.

thank you for the useful feedback. what theme did you try? also you say your ROM already supports S6 themes? can you download from the theme store and apply to phone and it works perfectly? if so can you please provide me with the directory that the broken down apk files are stored in if its not /system/vendor/overlay... like the ironman.apk you were talking about if its installed on the phone say on an S6 all the apks that are contained in the ironman.apk file (individual apks for theming each app like contacts, mms etc) are all stored in the /data/overlays directory. on an s4 or s5 we use the /system/vendor/overlay directory.

well I released this for S4 initally. I needed testers for the Note 4/Note 3 and S5. S5 works exactly like the S4 but the Note 4/3 I'm still trying to make sure it will work with stock S6 apps. unfortunately havent gotten much feedback. this isnt officially released yet and do u have any idea how long or much time it would take to upload screenshots for hundreds of themes? christ its taken me months to get this far. thats why I asked that anyone that successfully tries them to post their screens. you can alternatively search for dOPE Theme Park on XDA and view the original S4 page which has only a few screenshots. Ive been focusing on making 2.0 and updated a lot of themes and made a few new ones also added the possibility to individually theme each app so each app has a different theme if wanted.... who criticizes a General post asking for testers?! LOL if I can get a few people to test and get feedback I can finalize this for the Note 4 at which point the release would be located in the proper Note4 Themes/Apps Forum. thanks for your concern

ok I read thru the S6 thread you lead me to. so it seems that Dr K's ROM is a direct port of an S6. Thus the themes would have to be installed off the Store or flashed over an exisiting theme that was already installed. Which means I'd need someone with the theme designer to package one of my themes with generically named files. then install that via script and then flash over the top of a different theme from my theme collection... its weird to me that BitSyko's Layers Manager doesnt work for you guys. Thats what the Samsung Overlays is based on... did you try using it like I suggested? or has anyone tried it? Just download it off the play store and then unpack one of my zips to your phone or whatever then select the .apk files from the theme that you want to install. Using this method would enable u to flash multiple parts of different themes to the phone. So for example you could have Avengers as your Dialer, Captain America as your Contacts, Black Widow as your MMS, Hulk as your Settings and so on (looks like your an Avengers fan lol) would you give that a try or anyone using a different S6 ROM with say Albe95's S6 Ported files give that a shot for me and let me know. I'm still convinced this method will work.
