Is there any custom OS out there that can use the P8 lite and its two SIM card slots? Anybody knows about development in lineageOS in that direction? Would be awesome!
No source released. Only aosp is WIP but nothing except recovery work... Don't hope anything soon, the phone is still young, maybe huawei would release something.

This is purely based on my experience and opinion. I have used every single rom for our device from xda. The rom that adore most is the huawei noughat emui b336. pure speed and optimised battry life is wonderfull a device working eith every functionality is what you get. when comparing with cm13 and 14 builds its much more stable and reliable. i was on oem c636 flashed c432 europe and flashed noughat from meticulus twrp emui4.1.

I don't dare to install Lineage or Cm13 because I want a stable phone. I previously asked in another thread which problems the Lineage OS has. I could not find the Log File of Meticulus which shows the problems. Maybe someone can tell some problems of lineage os so the decision of installing it would be easier. Thanks a lot.

I tried Lineage and had a bootloop because of substratum themes...after that i flashed RR build and i`m very happy with it. The battery life is not extraordinary...5h SOT. For my needs it`s very good...no big bugs or something like this...
Again for my needs I can say that it`s pretty stable...
At the moment, stock is best. EMUI4.1 at that. Give it another 2 months or so, by then we should have stable custom roms, that being said, try the Paranoid Android ROM, it's good but has some bugs with dual SIM unless otherwise stated by the developer in the thread.

that would be awesome, but i think custom roms won't be much more stable unless huawei releases their source code
At this point , stock rom is the best. Unfortunately because Huawei has not released and i do belive will not realease the sources for this model , all custom roms based all on Lineage OS or AOSPA will have bugs and high battery usage, without hope of real solving...because the code is always changing and as some problems are apparently solved other will rise up.
Everybody here is saying that wating for a custom rom for p8lite2017 is a waste of time because huawei doesn't release the sources, then why does honor 8 have so many custom roms for it ? It has EMUI 5 just like us, it's made by the same company in the same year, how did the devs manage to make roms for it ??

Some developers (also I) take the data of the devices which they own. They do not need the official resources. Therefore, there is not custom rom also from devices his resources were published. I build my custom rom when android 8 is released.

I'd be glad if we can get even just a custom kernel..But if we do get a custom rom, then all the more better!

I already work some time on a EMUI 5 custom rom. Alike for Honor 6x. Only of the Kernel is not enough. We also need 100% Recovery. There is not that.

True. Our Recovery isn't that all stable and consistent. I am not really expecting too much from this phone since its a budget device, and I got most of the things I want and need to work: root, busybox, Viper4Android. The TWRP is a bonus, even if its in a semi-usable state.
It's great if we can have Custom ROMs, but even just a custom kernel will suffice for now.
OFFTOPIC: On another note, I am hoping that Xposed will somehow work for Android 7 onwards. Even without a Custom ROM, that will open a lot of doors for customization.

So I'm thinking about getting a custom ROM for my Huawei Honor 7 Lite, and i came across LineageOS one from XDA, now it doesnt say for what Phone's model the OS's are, unlike the EliteROM, so it would be very helpful if someone told me for which exact model the Lineage OS is, because my phone's model is NEM-L21C432B351, and I also wanted to know if the ROM includes a custom kernel or not, since it talks about only supporting EliteKernel, also is the TWRP version 3.1.1-0 good enough to install Lineage OS, and does the OS support USB OTG? When I got MiNote10, it was one of few phones with new 108MP camera sensor, developers had bad time trying to find drivers, or do anything to be able to use camera, as Xiaomi release only part of source code for this phone. As for now, there is no official LOS for MiNote10, just UNOFFICIAL, and the phone was released around November 2019 ?
MI11 Ultra also have new camera sensor GN2, display on the back, new chipset, I wish to see LOS or other custom ROM, but I know how hard is to build custom ROM for new hardware if you don't have drivers/source code.. Only hope in Xiaomi if they release complete source code needed to build ROM.
We'll have to wait for the popularity of this phone to go up first. Might take a while. But with miui12.5 being the crap fest that it is right now... I hope we don't have to wait too long for an aosp based ROM to come out
I would voluteer for testing... anything is better than this miui crap. So, anyone, please DM me, if you need a tester.
And put TWRP on the list. I might suffer from a good old fashioned paranoia, but kind if don't trust the current distributions of TWRP for the MI11U.

I have been looking around the internet in hopes of finding a custom rom for my Huawei phone. So far I've only come across and article on the website tweakdroid but the downloads there are not available. I would like to run LineageOS on that phone and I've already found some ways to eventually unlock the bootloader and root my phone. I don't see any reason in going through that process though if I don't have any ROM to flash onto the phone. If anyone could provide me with some official or unofficial custom rom files I would really appreciate it.

As far as I know no custom roms have been developed for the P10; only emui forks and images that make use of project treble. OpenKirin used the latter and also managed to use the emui cam app, but has been abandoned. You may be lucky with this: https://forum.xda-developers.com/c/project-treble.7259/
