Viper4Android 2.5.0.5 Magisk module does not work - Magisk

I'm trying to install the Viper4Android 2.5.0.5 module in Magisk. I installed the module and the app and then rebooted, but the driver status in Viper4Android under enabled indicates a "no".
I've tried some of the settings, but it does not seem to work. The sound is all the same. Any idea how to get this to work? There were no additional instructions for getting V4A to work.
Nexus 6 running Pure Nexus 7.1.2 with Magisk version 12.0

I've had great success on several different devices with this module: https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/module-viper4android-fx-2-5-0-5-t3577058

I can confirm that the above link works great..

I was hoping I didn't have to use that workaround, but I guess I have no choice. I don't know if anyone will agree with me, but I find it annoying to have to decipher and read through all these guides and forum posts to figure out how to get something to work. I wish things just "worked".

Everyone has different devices, different setups, etc. It's never going to "just work" easily for everyone. That said, the link above works great and doesn't really have much reading to do....
Only issue I had was it not working initially, but I set the mode to "compatible" instead of "normal" it instantly started working. In case you have issues with it not starting like I did.

Hello, I have a OnePlus 3T (Oreo - 8.0.0 - OxygenOS Open 20 ) I was in the big sh*t installing this app but now it's working so what I do ?
I simply install 4/5 things :
- Viper4Android APK here ( http://www.mediafire.com/file/xonl4jha2e4vez1/ViPER4Android_FX_v2505.zip )
- BusyBox you can get it on the Play Store
- This Magisk module for OP3T but if you have an other phone search an other compatible module ( https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=673368273298977808 )
- The SELinux Switch [IMPORTANT] ( https://forum.xda-developers.com/devdb/project/?id=22073#downloads )
UNINSTALL ALL PREVIOUS VERSIONS OF V4A ON YOUR DEVICE.
Now I'm gona show you how to get this sh*t working
Simply install unzip the Viper4Android folder and install this apk :
ViPER4Android_FX_v2505_A7.x_Nougat_IO_test_fix.apk
(Maybe a newer version can be delivered in the future I think you can install it).
Then install BusyBox.
Open V4A and install the Drivers.
When it's done go to Magisk -> Modules -> + and install the zip module for your device.
/!\REBOOT /!\
Finally you just have to install The SELinux Switch.apk and switch your SELinux to Permissive (maybe you have to reboot but for me when I reboot my SELinux go back to Enforcing SELinux so I switch it back when I reboot).
[Note : I don't know if it's important but I was flashing a zip of V4A that's install me V4A as a system app and it wasn't working (error I/O) this is not important but it maybe install me other files so maybe you have to do this if it's not working at the end].
V4A is working now (don't forget to switch off your stock equalizer in Settings -> Sound -> Balance)
If you have any problem or questions contact me.

My dude, you are doing way more then you have to. Just install Ahrions magisk viper module. It has all the patches for OOS Oreo to work (it seems OnePlus made it impossible for viper to work on Enforcing with their Oreo release -.-)

No because V4A is not working when SELinux is on enforcing bru this is why I install the switcher and it's working but if a problem comes I will test with your module.

[MAGISK][MODULE] OnePlus 3 aptX High Res Audio

THIS IS STILL BETA.
This Magisk module should enable the aptX Bluetooth codec on OnePlus 3(T). It may very well work on other devices with Qualcomm processors. It should work on Nougat but there are reports it may work on Marshmallow, too.
This module is based on the work of @dh.harald and @dr_root. Please see this thread for more info: https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3/themes/mod-aptx-codec-t3521228
I turned this into a Magisk module so you should benefit from an easy and systemless install.
I lack the proper hardware to test this. Please test and give feedback.
It's free. Hit the THANKS button if you like it.
Anyone test this with a Nexus 6P? I'm tempted to try it myself...
EDIT: Looks like it works with every Snapdragon 8XX and 6XX device but requires you to be on a CAF/CM/Lineage based ROM.
I confirm this works on OnePlus One using LineageOs 14.1. To see if it works, just use Logcat and search for "aptx".
Yes! Perfect!
Massive thanks for this! The module fixes the only flaw I have so far found in this phone.
So I guess it's safe to add it to the repo as well...
Can confirm that this works on OnePlus 3T w/ OOS 4.0.2 - Can see it select aptx codec in logcat. Thanks!
Edit: No longer working on 4.1.0.
Hi, this module seems to be incompatible with Magisk 11.1. Flashed it on my Nexus 6P stock ROM (7.1.1) and it went into bootloop.

This works on Magisk 10.2 regardless of phone. If you go to it's actual thread, you'll see people have reported this working on other phones apart from OnePlus 3.

It only works for phones that OFFICIALLY HAVE SUPPORT and or ARE USING QUALCOMM BLUETOOTH STACK. Sorry for the caps, but after being on that aptX thread and trying to get it on bullhead for three weeks, I don't want people to waste their time doing the same.
This works well, but breaks cts with magisk because it cannot unmount this module when running magiskhide. Logs show everything working except for this module so it causes a cts mismatch

Interesting, on my OnePlus One I flashed the standard zip rather than the magisk module and I still pass CTS. I guess for people that can modify /system they should use the regular zip over the magisk module to pass SsfetyNet.
I am on Resurrection Remix (7.1.1) using Boeffla Kernel.

Kinda late, but here is the thread link. use the attached "aptXHD.zip" (NOT aptXHD-system.zip, that is for nexus phones)
https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3/themes/mod-aptx-codec-t3521228
Oneplus One users should use the attached "aptx.zip"
Oneplus Two users should use the attached "aptXHD.zip"
Oneplus 3/3T users should use the attached "aptXHD.zip"
This will allow for CTS pass unlike the Magisk module (which fails CTS due to not being unloaded correctly)

This was exactly what I needed. Cheers.
Tried on OnePlus 3T with Oxygen OS 4.1.6 and Magisk 12 - seems not to be working, though.
Code:
06-16 21:55:13.067 6359 6453 E bt_btif : bta_av_select_codec hdl = 65
06-16 21:55:13.067 6359 6453 I bt_btif_media: btif_a2dp_encoder_init Selected Codec SBC
Any ideas? Or has somebody it working with 4.1.6?

Viper4Android + Magisk on Nougat

Hi,

Uninstall the viper apk..And flash viper4arise zip on twrp..
Thanks, but I am looking for a systemless install.
This has been working and others report it's working (on other devices though).
I wonder if anyone has tried it on a 3T with Nougat.
So is it possible to get it working systemless? Thanks!
You can use viper4rarise with magisk. Safetynet not triggered. But the problem is selinux status. Its always enforcing for some reason. But yi can change it from terminals using setenforce 0 command. Then it works. You need to do it every time after reboot. I tried to make selinux permissive. Bug it triggers safetynet. So im swt with running everytime post reboot

Systemless user here. If you're interested, I've created a Magisk module of ViPER4Android 2.3.4.0, which in my opinion is the best version as it had drivers of different quality you could choose. My Magisk module runs on Super High Quality.
And yes, I'm running it on Nougat/OOS 4.0.2. If you want it on Open Beta, send me the following files:

/system/etc/audio_policy.conf
/system/vendor/etc/audio_effects.conf

Not a problem. Let me know how it goes.
I installed your module. How do I know if it's working properly? I tried changing settings while using google play music but didn't hear any changes. Driver status is enabled but processing shows "no".
Edit: tried listening a podcast and viperfx seems to be working. I can hear changes in sound. How can I get google play music also working?

I forgot about that. At the moment I cannot get streaming via Play Music working with ViPER's FX Compatible Mode set as normal. Only locally stored music played in Play Music will make ViPER work with it.
However, setting ViPER's FX Compatible Mode to Compatible will make it work with both local and streaming music in Google Play Music, along with other audio apps.
Hopefully that makes sense.

Viper works here for everything but Google play music. The files you're modifying don't include the XML files, from experience in Nougat just modifying the conf files didn't make any difference, but I may be wrong (Certainly sounds so). What changes did you make may I ask? Removing deep buffer and raw only makes any difference for me if I modify the XML files in Nougat.

[Module][UPDATED] AirAudio System-Audio Mode

What's good everyone!
I use the AirAudio app and pretty much enjoy streaming my music from services (such as Spotify) to any capable device at home, work or at my friend's house.
Now the module itself hasn't been updated and isn't compatible with the latest version of Magisk (v16), so I went ahead and made it compatible with it.
It'll be attached to this thread, simply download and install it manually.
I'll also try and upload it to the repository.
Note:
I am NOT affiliated with AirAudio.
I'm simply a user like you. I just noticed it's outdated and updated it.
Note for Moderators:
In case the actual AirAudio dev reaches out to you, let me know and feel free to close this thread.
In the meantime, I'd like users to use my updated module to use their app to the full extent.

you have to use both together. This module allows the app to use the "system mode" from the app and get the sound directly internally to send it over the wlan. The other mode from air audio is much worse as it is has to play the sound over the speaker and record it over the microphone.
For me this Magisk package is working wonderful: just installing this module. Afterwards the app from the Playstore and voila: I am able to play music from my phone to most every wifi-based receivers. The app is worth every cent!

There's no UI to it, it just enables the system-mode in AirAudio, yoiu'll have to check the app to see the option.
This module basically re-enables it.

SELinux can't be forced in oreo (damn huawei) , you need to build kernel source with CONFIG_SECURITY_SELINUX_DEVELOP=y , then you can change to permissive.
Has anyone figured out how to install Viper4Android on Oreo? It is really the only thing stopping me from using oreo as a daily driver
Im using huawei mate 9, with emui 8, the only kernel for selinux permissive (but show as enforcing) hyperplus kernel.. Able to install viper driver, but can't open the app... I think a full permissive kernel should work.. But currently no developer build for mate 9, sad

Just rooted my Pixel 3a last night running Android Q Beta 6. What are some good magisk modules that I should install to make the Pixel 3a even better? Thanks
Active Edge Mod for Pixel Devices - allows you to customize the side sensor buttons. I have it set up to the default Google assistant except when the camera is open - then it takes a picture.
Viper4 AndroidFX - there are several versions available. They all use the same driver and have the same options. The difference is is only in the GUI.
Vanced Youtube - provides ad free Youtube experience.
Advanced Charging Controller (by VR25) - allows a user to customize how and when the phone is charged. It helps prolong the battery life.
Systemless Hosts - more of a Magisk setting, but it does install this module. Allows ad blocking through Adaway or similar ad blocking app.

Good call. After trying Beta 4 for a brief period of time, I went back to Pie so I'm out of the loop on what works and doesn't work with the beta.

the active edge guy is SUPER on the ball and posts updated versions in his telegram group if you're that way inclined. but yeah youtube vanced is my only functioning module right now. i'm sure most of them will be updated for Q in the coming months.
I'm a fan of energized pro for ad blocking, but you'll need the systemless hosts and BusyBox modules for it to work. These days I root my phone mainly for ad blocking.
for Vanced Youtube, is there a different module needed for it to work? I installed it in my Pixel 3a Rooted/Bootloader unlock, and the app was not even showing up

I figured it out, seems like I had to uninstall the Normal Youtube app, after I did that, I rebooted my phone and it worked

I don't think you need to uninstall the actual Youtube app, but you do need to uninstall any "updates" for the Youtube app. I've found that after installing the Magisk module, I can go into the Playstore and pull up the Youtube app. There will be a "uninstall updates" button where the normal uninstall button would be. However you need to install the module first. Otherwise the button will uninstall the app instead of uninstalling the updates.
That's been my experience at least.....
Viper4 Android
Has anyone gotten Viper4 Android working on Android 10?
Yes. You have to install V4A FX v2.7.0.0 because v2.7.1.0 driver installation is broken on Q for now.

Here you have the APK. Install it and then the driver installation should install the magisk module.
I have the 2.7.1.0 version of Viper4Android installed and working just fine on Android 10. It was installed and working on Android 9 and it continued to work when I upgraded to Android 10. I sideloaded the .020 version of the Android 10 OTA image.
The Magisk module was last updated on May 31, 2019, so it obviously hasn't specifically been updated for Android 10. Perhaps it won't install on Android 10, but will work if upgraded from Android 9. I also have the Audio Modification Library module and the Audio Compatibility Patch module installed as well. Perhaps that makes a difference?????

I'm using V4A 2.7.1.0 on Q and it's working fine. I had to flash Ainur, Audio Modification Library and Audio Compatibility Patch to get it work though!

Just rooted my Pixel 3a last night running Android Q Beta 6. What are some good magisk modules that I should install to make the Pixel 3a even better? Thanks

Open Magisk, go into settings, scroll down and click on Systemless Hosts, reboot, then install Adaway. Boom! system wide adblocking.

YouTube vanced is a must, too.
Y'all seem to have forgotten QuickSwitch ??
