OMG Very good to see thank you :good:

Wait, does this mean the OP5 will have an unlockable bootloader? If so, I'm instantly buying it.

Does this mean custom roms are coming?

Bet jcadduno is going to snag it. He's everywhere!

Heads up.
i am going to leave this thread here in development till some actual development is shared and then i will be moving this to News, guides, ect. section. Thanks for keeping the discussion peaceful.

WOWZERS! We're gonna have SO MUCH DEVELOPMENT on day 1? Can i expect magisk to make it here before the official worldwide release on the 27th? Thats all i want :3 Need my root apps!!!

OnePlus is the best company, the Devs are supported at all other manufacturers waiting for months
It can go for the Devs

Forked and waiting for my device.

I'm gonna buy the 8 128 version. But this post mainly is to remain in history...
Edit : PayPayed it! Waiting for this Friday!

The reason why I asked this question is is that I saw a news about the official version for 3T will be released in the next weekly.
Yes, you can flash the latest official nightly for OP3 on your 3T.

Source? I've looked and haven't seen a thing
I'm using it right now, working very good!
Sources: (https://review.lineageos.org/#/c/158508/) (https://review.lineageos.org/#/c/160293/) (https://review.lineageos.org/#/c/159735/)
And this is why I think there should be a unified subforum for ROMs and kernels, like how they did with the Galaxy phones. Some of the stuff in the OP3 forums aren't even here, but are marked "unified."
If any mods see this, please look into adding it.

Could you please provide some feedback on the camera

Packaging it with Pixel Launcher would violate licensing so no, that will not happen.

I totally agree, annoying having to bounce between both device forums.
For example i'm on a build of RR thats unified and its not even on the one plus 3t forums.

And those not-booting los-15 builds have been discussed in various other threads (in the Q&A section)

Android 8.1 has been released, we’re anticipating moving straight to the 15.1 branch where we’ll merge all our work done for 15.0 and finish the porting effort.
Like always, we won’t be giving any indication as to when we might be close to a releasable product, but keep waiting patiently, and as we reach big milestones, we’ll be giving you some more status updates...."

[Request] Custom Kernel

I miss the days where you could easily see custom kernels for android phones.
Sigh... anyway, I'm not sure if this is the right thread to post this so feel free to move it in case ?
Now to the point... I understand we need to get the sources to even have any chance for this to happen. Does anyone know if this is in the foreseeable future or do we need to email or ask Huawei?
Kernel sources are already available but development on P20 pro is a bit ... sluggish.

@reppi - would you happen to have links for the sources?
I have been researching how to create my own kernel and most guides require me to have linux or such. Isn't there a way to do it via Windows 10?

Cool .. i only hope for 1 thing.. hope it takes time like nougat not like oreo ..
Oreo on klte took so so long (many months unofficial roms) with many bugs and missing features (fixed slowly later).. while nougat came pretty soon (1 month for official roms) and with little amount of bugs (fixed later too)

Let's see... Hmm no, or rather, I have no idea because I've never done either one pretty sure the answer is still no. You may be thinking of project treble and if so I don't believe that project has any benefits for devices that lack the support hardware, (aka devices that got the android Oreo update or shipped with Oreo or pie. If it was easy as pie we would already be running it on our s5's now.

I don't think that's entirely true. If you consult this graphic, a lot of time on 8.0 was spent converting #1 type HALs to type 2 and 3. That work is already done, plus the ones that were able to be "binderized" (#3) should work out of the box on 9.0 if I understand correctly. You can see the HALs here:

[Blind Builds] [Cepheus] My own builds for Cepheus [Pie]

Hello all , I have decided to build different Roms for our device. The main goal is to show mainly upcoming or WIP roms in order to attract these devs to build for our device. If you want any of these roms to be official or 100% maintained I will be glad to do this , I have a really fast build machine (builds in less than 1:30 hours).

Very nice, will try this shortly, thanks to Op, cheers
Tried it.... Brightness is really broken.... Need a fix.... And sound cracks....

Although this device is A-only, you have to choose GSI for A/B devices because this device is "system-as-root".
