Cool .. i only hope for 1 thing.. hope it takes time like nougat not like oreo ..
Oreo on klte took so so long (many months unofficial roms) with many bugs and missing features (fixed slowly later).. while nougat came pretty soon (1 month for official roms) and with little amount of bugs (fixed later too)

Let's see... Hmm no, or rather, I have no idea because I've never done either one pretty sure the answer is still no. You may be thinking of project treble and if so I don't believe that project has any benefits for devices that lack the support hardware, (aka devices that got the android Oreo update or shipped with Oreo or pie. If it was easy as pie we would already be running it on our s5's now.

I don't think that's entirely true. If you consult this graphic, a lot of time on 8.0 was spent converting #1 type HALs to type 2 and 3. That work is already done, plus the ones that were able to be "binderized" (#3) should work out of the box on 9.0 if I understand correctly. You can see the HALs here:

The reason why I asked this question is is that I saw a news about the official version for 3T will be released in the next weekly.

I totally agree, annoying having to bounce between both device forums.
For example i'm on a build of RR thats unified and its not even on the one plus 3t forums.

This isn't a deal breaker for me since I chromecast Netflix and YouTube TV. Which to me says the DRM is functioning. I took a look at my log, looks like it has to do with HDCP and or OMX errors. Might not be the widvine this time.

AFH has AOSCP and Nephilim which are oreo 8.1 roms that are stable and working well. U will need gapps 8.1 (also on AFH).

How do I access this Nephilim rom, can't find the link anywhere on xda and when I do a search it refers me to the giants.......can't even find it on google..

The rules of this forum don't allow me to give a link without the consent of the owner, but if you do a search on Google Plus for Nephilim Renown, you will find it. There's a lot of Devs on Google Plus that don't put links on this site. A general search for Shamu on Google Plus brings up a few of them.

I think this thought crossed no just mine mind, but anyway... will it be or am I just one interested in trying out this ROM? Just stock, pure Android, no Samsung customization. The newer the better of course.... maybe Oreo, who knows?

I don't know much about the Linux drivers, but in Windows it is possible. You can run newer Windows with the older drivers written for the previous one. I wonder if this works for Linux...
I also want to try lineage os in our j7 prime. Hoping that someone would make it...

If anyone can please build this ROM for Owens that would be great! We have a wide range of ROMs for this device now, but unfortunately none of the custom ROMs are based on pure aosp/caf unless you count lineage. This ROM is aosp and not lineage based and has a ton of features as well.
Also it will be WAY easier to make this ROM official as it does not have the restrictions that lineage and other lineage based ROMs have to have to become official.
I look forward to hearing a response from someone.

I have other things that I want and need to do and really don't have time right now. If I have time, maybe I will. Maybe someone else will build it. Right now I'd rather spend my little spare time working on Oreo trees and ROMs that I want to build and I also have a life and a family that takes a lot of my time. I don't get anything out if doing this. I do it because I enjoy it. Just because I built one ROM you asked for doesn't mean I was up for requests.
