LineageOS Will soon come for J7 prime. But i don't know if it will be NOUGAT or OREO. By the way there there is no oreo yet for our device. So i don't think it will be oreo

I don't know much about the Linux drivers, but in Windows it is possible. You can run newer Windows with the older drivers written for the previous one. I wonder if this works for Linux...
I also want to try lineage os in our j7 prime. Hoping that someone would make it...

I totally agree, annoying having to bounce between both device forums.
For example i'm on a build of RR thats unified and its not even on the one plus 3t forums.

This isn't a deal breaker for me since I chromecast Netflix and YouTube TV. Which to me says the DRM is functioning. I took a look at my log, looks like it has to do with HDCP and or OMX errors. Might not be the widvine this time.

AFH has AOSCP and Nephilim which are oreo 8.1 roms that are stable and working well. U will need gapps 8.1 (also on AFH).

Cool .. i only hope for 1 thing.. hope it takes time like nougat not like oreo ..
Oreo on klte took so so long (many months unofficial roms) with many bugs and missing features (fixed slowly later).. while nougat came pretty soon (1 month for official roms) and with little amount of bugs (fixed later too)

You may be thinking of project treble and if so I don't believe that project has any benefits for devices that lack the support hardware, (aka devices that got the android Oreo update or shipped with Oreo or pie. If it was easy as pie we would already be running it on our s5's now.

I don't think that's entirely true. If you consult this graphic, a lot of time on 8.0 was spent converting #1 type HALs to type 2 and 3. That work is already done, plus the ones that were able to be "binderized" (#3) should work out of the box on 9.0 if I understand correctly. You can see the HALs here:

Hello all , I have decided to build different Roms for our device. The main goal is to show mainly upcoming or WIP roms in order to attract these devs to build for our device. Sorry to hear that and there was some chatter that I am a kanger or something like that lol so I Decided to keep the build private. and there is already a build of lineage os 17.1 maintained by Ivan. Please ask there for any help.
And there should be a stock flashable ROM somewhere on the forum just search for it.

As said above there is already a build of lineage os 17.1 and there was some issue with a member calling me a kanger so hey I've spent weeks and days with few hours sleep and yet I get to be called that. Anyways Ivan is doing a great job his build is solid and fast and stable best off all great battery life.
