Galileo/GNSS - OnePlus 3T Questions & Answers

Do you think we will ever have either offical or unoffical support for the Galileo positioning system?
The chipset is listed as compatible on the EU website and qualcomm stated that they would only need a firmware upèdate, but from what I understood ther is no official support from OnePlus to get the system activated on the 3T, but like with DayDream and Bluetooth AptX we might do it unofficially
Do you think it's possible? Do you think it's viable?

Well, let's hope for an unofficial update

Any phone released with Android 8.0 or later (this will have 8.1), has to support treble as standard.
No idea what updates will be like but I hear that the bootloader will be unlockable and phh plans to support the P20 pro from a treble ROM perspective.
No idea about kernel sources being released by Huawei and therefore how long it might take for twrp and/or custom kernels to be built.

It never lack updates. Even mate 10 has plenty of updates.
What it lack is, an easy way to modify something.
Example,
I havent jump to this phone yet, because there's no root method available yet.
And android without root equal to : too many pain in the *ss, lol
Excuse me for being a paranoid Android, but with Huawei's past reputation on updates ..
Would it be possible for somebody to do the adb check and paste the results back here please

It supports (checked on p20 pro c432 dual sim)
So the question is.
Has anyone successfully flashed a treble ROM on the P20 Pro?
Did it everything work?
How did you do it?
I've flashed several via twrp, flash system image.
None worked.
I've read that the twrp versions we have are incapable of wiping completely.
Not only that but if you've modified the phone, IE: root etc it won't work.
Obviously you need to be able to flash the system IMG but by what method is it going to be successful?
Had tried los, dotos and cosmic all booted fine. Haven't had time to play with these roms though. I like the dotos design but I can't set-up fingerprint.
I flashed the images via fastboot.

treble rom? normal rom? which one?

I've seen lately that there is many new roms and kernels that are treble enabled
I want to know what are the advantages on treble roms and what makes them better tan normal ones
Treble technology means separating system into two partitions. One for oems, one for Google. This enables Google to push updates to every phone. Without treble, Android phones only get updates when manufacturers decide so.
But for custom roms I dont think there are any adventages of treble. Also, to install treble roms, you need a treble supported recovery. And you can't revert back to miui with treble enabled recoveries AFAIK.
Performance or battery won't change between treble and non treble roms. Also most up to date roms only have treble version anyway.
What that guy above said except Google hasn't been developing any GSI for us to flash, that I am aware of anyway.
Treble support gives our device pretty much indefinite software support, a guarantee that Santoni will always recieve updates via the community-made GSI

Project Treble for XZ1 Compact

I was just surfing random android stuffs on internet and eventually found the "Project Treble"!!
https://forum.xda-developers.com/project-treble
After then I installed the app known as "Project Treble" in app store, this app tells you if your device is capable for this project or not. And good thing for us that XZ1 Compact is supported.
I have unlocked my bootloader, so there is no chance for getting any OTA updates.
Well, I was never worried about not getting OTA updates because XZ1 Compact is already a year old and sony will eventually stop rolling the updates after sometime, but unlike sony, Project Treble seems more promising for regular security updates and many more other things that sony will probability never provide.
As for example look at this thread : https://forum.xda-developers.com/pr...device-development/rom-aosp-extended-t3821934
Here you can see that they are providing kernel 4.9, while we, who are still on kernel 4.4 even after latest pie update.
And this also : https://www.xda-developers.com/google-test-android-q-project-treble-gsi/
Keeping all these apart, I just wanted to ask if any XZ1 Copmact user has tried this "Project Treble" or not??
And if yes then please share your reviews here.
Thanks in advance.
Cheers
There's various posts about Project Treble in this device's forum. I'll leave the searching for you.
I didn´t try with the latest Pie firmware yet.
With Android 8.0 as base I was able to run almost every Treble-ROM based von Android 8.1, Android 9.0 bootloops. May be it is working together with the latest Pie rom as well.

Because project treble doesnt affect the stock rom functionality you must do the same as if you were on stock. Install drm fix and Magisk in twrp and permissive kernel patch via Magisk when in Android.
I suggest AOSP from the creator himself or resurrection Rom.
I have got no idea about Volte

[Q] Project Treble?

Has anyone tried this method to test if Project Treble is enabled on the S10 variants?

There's not any need. Since the S9, Project Treble is required on phones. Termux may not work anyway since Treble has to be on a separate partition and Samsung, at least on the S9 didn't do that. So, the S9 didn't support seemless updates using Treble and I'm guessing the S10, while it does have Treble won't support seemless updates.
Besides, there is an easier way, use Treble Check available in the Play Store.

I will do so when I get my S10e in a couple of weeks. I hope there will be a lot of ROM developments.
Verizon S10+ has suppprt. But there really wasn't any need to check, it's required for phones 8.0 and up

ANT+ functionality after Android 9 / OOS 9.0.6

Does anyone have an idea how to restore ANT+ functionality after the latest OOS 9.0.6 update? Apparently the ANT? firmware is not included in the latest update anymore, and therefore it is not possible to use it. Maybe it would be possible to somehow make it work using a similiar method to what the ANT+ Enabler that existed for some other devices previously? Of course this would either need the original developer or a new one to figure things out.
ANT+ Enabler: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.z2software.antplus&hl=fi&gl=US
The required additional application, Bluetooth+ is seemingly not available in Play Store anymore, though I have a backup of it for use with a previous Galaxy S4, which also had the problem similary occuring after the last stable update to Android.
Maybe someone who has experience loading device firmware could chime in on if it would even be possible, possibly using Oneplus 5T sources or older OOS. Oneplus 5T supposedly has Ant+ working fine.
