Yeah it's true for now i think the best OOS based rom is xXx no limits , and the best kernel is dirtycore kernel !
waiting for DU & RR & Lineage ...

I am using xXx without any custom kernel and getting 7hrs SOT..no battery saving apps and no custom settings...sync on..location off...I used to get 4-5 hrs SOT on OP 3T

Stock rom and ex kernel getting 8-10 hrs daily on my sot I've left my images there for people to see

I don't have the device yet (shipment still pending -_-), but currently, I have a Google Pixel XL and I am running PureNexus with EX Kernel.
Once I get the device, I'm going to either install a ROM I find that is closest to PureNexus in terms of features and stability, or RR, as that seems to be one of the more popular ROM options out there.
I may stick with the stock kernel, but I feel like I will find myself installing EX on the OP5 as well.
Also, I definitely need a ROM with OMS support, Substratum ftw!

Here is a rom(xXx 4.5.5) + kernel (Xceed test) the only overclocked kernel. Some screens below.

Currently using Freedom ROM. With now the Boeffla Kernel.
I Have been using the Ex kernel previously. So thought I'd try the Boeffla instead, as I've just updated Freedom 1.2 1.3 earlier today.

What's the advantage of those over, say, ElementalX?

Stock rom and ex kernel

12 hr sot. With 9% left

13 hr sot

I am on Stock Kernel and ROM(4.5.5)
I loose around 3% overnight (8Hrs) Phone goes to deepsleep, all connectivity off, except phone radio.
Is this normal? Can it be bettered with a dev Kernel?
Please suggest... Thanks

What he is saying is that you can do a lot of customization with a rooted phone and Xposed without flashing a custom ROM. The downside is that you are still stuck with a lot of bloat in the stock apps. There are ways to remove them but doesn't always work and can cause other problems. And there are limits to Xposed. The upside is it is less risky to go the Xposed/root/stock route.
I have tried numerous custom ROM's and they all have pros and cons. I have been on AOSP with Monster Kernel and Slim_zero_gapps_beta for a while now and am very pleased with it. Minimal OS is also quite good, but I have a custom app that I use and it didn't work with Minimal. If not for that it would be my ROM of choice.
In spite of what some people will tell you, there is no "perfect" ROM that meets all needs for all users. I suggest you try a couple and see what works for you. However, be sure you have read all you can about flashing ROM's and when you think you understand it all, read it again. Always do a nanroid backup of your current working config before flashing. Store all backups and files you need to flash on your external SD-Card. Don't switch from one ROM to another without doing a full wipe. Use TWRP 2.8.x for your recovery.
Once again be sure you have a good understanding of the steps you need to follow before flashing any ROM. I see far too many sad pleas for help from users who jumped in too quickly and have bricked their devices. Do the research before you proceed. Don't expect to led by the hand but don't be afraid to ask questions if something is not clear. Good luck my friend.
I have been using AOSP for a while, and I'm happy with it (cuz it has awesome battery backup). However, AOSP's latest build now has battery drain issue, and I have to find another ROM that is bug-free and has good battery backup.
Can anyone suggest some stable ROMs which last about 5h sot? Thanks in advance!

I am using minimal os and it is daily drive material, no bugs and smooth. Now as far the battery goes I get about 4 hours SoT with mainly browsing and gaming using emulators for about 1 hour. Then again it depends on your usuage. As I found the key is to keep the brightness as low as possible.

I'm using Minimal OS, works like a charm. Great battery and performance, also, no bugs so far.
ROMS I've seperated into category's (NOTE THIS IS IN MY OPINION)
Performance : Radium Redefined (5.0.2)bundled with Stellar Kernel (It aslo has amazing battery backup but i like it for its perfomance)
Battery : Fusion (5.1.1) with Halogen Kernel
Balanced : Minimal OS with Decipher Kernel
Overall : Titan Prime Anorexic bundled with Stellar Kernel (find this on the titan prime rom website, link in the TP thread)
Note except Minimal OS, all other ROM's ive mentioned, I've used Abhisheks battery guide (in general section of forum)
For daily use, is best stock rom with xposed or minimal os?
I want no problems... I want only personalize my smartphone and use root with apps likes greenify for example... Thanks you so much

If you're going for a daily driver then I'd suggest you use stock+stellar kernel with xposed (Stellar Kernel+Amplify+PowerNap=Epicness). Minimal OS is good and all with balanced performance with decipher kernel but I'd still go with the stock.

Also try a stock based custom rom called Radium Redefined with Stellar Kernel (You won't need to flash xposed with this cause the battery backup is amazing, close to 6 hrs of screen on time)

Which is the smoothest and stable ROM for Moto G 2014? BEST ROM?

So I've used a lot of ROMS. A LOT. But I keep jumping into different ROMS, because I can't agree with a particular one for a long time. Now I'm just tired. I want a good daily driver. I'm looking for the best stability, battery backup (really important), smoothness and performance (gaming too I guess) in a ROM. Preferably Android 6.0.x too. So suggest a few ROMS which match the above criterion please?
Thank you in advance!
Personally IMO Any LP rom is better than MM (Try Minimal Os)
But for MM then try cm 13 or cyanpop.
AOSP 6.0.1 roms are better than cm 13 (just by a bit) so go for AOSP-CAF for best performance and battery in aosp.

I've been using it for a couple of days but i don't get the proper feel from it. I'm currently using MinimalOs and it's pretty smooth. Would you recommend a custom kernel (for battery and smoothness) or is the default one the best? I've so far experienced no problems apart from a small battery drain which can be ignored.. But.. How can I make it better?

For minimal OS : for performance go for halogen r 14 , for battery and stability go for decipher kernel (works like a charm and is recommended) personal build (cm12 10122015 build).
Stock kernel works fine too. And for the battery drain just install xposed and use amplify and powernap and block wakelocks.
Thanks a lot.

What works for me...
I've been using Nexus Experience 6.0 for a couple of months and love it. I'm also using Halogen kernel without any modifications. With Amplify and Greenify modules from Xposed, battery life is great, drain of 1 or 2 percent overnight. With Nexus Experience everything works, not to mention the 'Gestures' setting is just so freakin' awesome!

As far as the kernel, I just use the stock settings, haven't tweaked it at all. I don't really compose long emails or texts so the keyboard issue hasn't been noticed. Maybe try another keyboard app? Both the ROM and kernel were updated less than a week ago so you might want to give them a try again. Good luck!

about the Bad battery life on Op3 & 3T

Hello people :/
i need your help
my OP3T
sice i had it , treid about all his roms and custom Kernels
nothing helped me with battery life
nothing
the roms were { Vertex os - Sultan rom - Pa - RR - Miui9 - CM 13 - Viper os - AEX - Freedom os - PEXA - Crdroid }
and the kernels were { Franco - EX - Boeffa - Render - and more }
all of them and couldn't have a good battery life
All of them were with AKT profiles (especially X.a.n.a balance and battery )
my apps are (fb lite + messenger + whatsapp )
just 3 apps with a 1 Dictionary !
so recommend me to try something give me really good battery life
and thank you!
Try installing freedom os 2.12 version. The best battery life I've ever tried
No need for custom Rom in my case and I get always 5:30-7 SOT in NOUGAT and Oreo.
Just using Naptime+Akt profiles and sometimes a custom kernel.
Did you check your Alarms/Wakelocks?
What is your usual SOT?

[Closed] [Fix] [Custom Roms] [Santoni] Temporary Fix for Standby battery drain of cus

Thread closed due to maintain issue.
Use MIUI for better battery backup, your can use f2fs with Gabriel kernel in MIUI too.
Edit Feb 13, use these in build.prop, best for power saving at standby mode:
ro.ril.disable.power.collapse=0
pm.sleep_mode=1
Important notice:
If you have android assistant, close all background apps and check the CPU graph in the android assistant app. Wait for the cool down of CPUs. Then move your phone(like waving). You can see CPU starts at 2-3 sometimes 5 percent. In miui, I didn't have such CPU uses while moving my phone. I think this is also a cause of idle battery drain(sensors drain). Please all Devs, look at that problem even if you don't have that problem. Some users are facing this issue(or all?).
...
Hi. I've experienced serious battery drain on both Resurrection Remix, latest build of Nik001 and Luis Build with stock and custom kernel- Clarity. Many of us also experiencing this issue. It drains 5-7 percent per 7-8 hours to me. Using Greenify, Amplify caused me more battery drain! Now, I had found some fixes, but now problem appears like strangers. I don't know which fix solved my battery drain problem. Just test and you may find yours.
If you are having same problem like me, you can try and if doesn't work for you, I'm not responsible. Try these fix with no battery saving app(like greenify), and disabling the D2W. I've not tested with d2w enabled...
Method 1(settings restores automatically, I don't know why):
Doze Setting Editor thread-
[url]https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/root-doze-settings-editor-android-t3235130[/URL]
Just set a profile from the app within and save...
Edit: Note: After a reboot, you have to set the settings again...
Method 2:
Go back to original kernel, just flash boot.img in TWRP extracting from the ROM. Don't forget to install Magisk again if you are using it.
Use Naptime for better doze improvement...
Playstore link
Method 3:
Flash other firmwares. First use the latest build, if battery drain continues in idle mode, flash previous builds, you can try stable ROMs firmwares.
Method 4:
Install other kernels(you can use Gabriel's). It seems much stable in standby mode, with some more features, tested. But same battery drain(though 1 percent less than previous .)
Kernel Thread
On Oreo, you can use LH Kernel or if you have issues, then use Anonymous 3.0(this is not available in XDA).
Method 5:
Clean cache of all apps through titanium backup. Avoid restoring app+data through titanium backup.
Method 6:
Flash other ROMs.
Others:
Copy these in build.prop. I don't know if they are needed. I took it from a website(thanks to him).
#Hardware_Power_Saving
ro.config.hw_power_saving=true
#Sensor_Sleep_Control
ro.ril.sensor.sleep.control=1

Got this issue. I first tried pixel experience (Oreo) and the battery performance was terrible. Then RR (Oreo), same result. In airplane mode the drain was about 2%/hour.
I finally tried DotOs on Nougat base and work as aspected, with battery drain in idle near to 1%/night. The issue seems oreo-related but I don't understand why some device has it and other not.

Yes. I miss xMIUI, the development is not forwarded. We should pray to have an Oreo MIUI for our device.
Battery drain for me is not that high on pixel experience all though it is still teribble compared to MIUI. I tried using clarity kernel + firmware 32 + Universal Doze in magisk. MIUI is good at battery but terrible at customization. Can anyone recommend another custom ROM that has almost stock battery performance?

And change your firmware if you find battery backup is not good in any rom.

While I was using RR, I used firmware 32_PA and 33.
Stock kernel was/is based on Clarity. But even without modifications, everything was fine to me.
Now I'm on MIUI, using firmware 35 with Gabriel kernel. So can't tell much about RR.

Question Best kernel for long lasting battery no gaming for Pixel Experience 12

Hi,
I recently installed pixel experience 12 in sweet. Tried Stock Kernel but it sucks in the battery backup. So currently vantom is installed.
It seems to be better than stock obviously but battery backup is not satisfactory, Maybe if any pixel experience user can recommcomned some better kernal if available.
Thanks in advance..
I used Vantom, but then NFC didn't work. Back to stock. Fairly okay for now.

Yes, I had sleepy based on vantom. NFC Didn't work.
any updates to this? I want to flash PE on sweet but heard the battery backup wasn't great... Which kernel can i use? are there other options than vantom and sleepy? does changing the kernel make any undesirable changes to the stock android PE? Can someone who's tried both the vanilla kernel in PE and vantom and/or sleepy share their thoughts pls??
