Hi can i flash this on my Moto g4 play xt1601???

It can't get hard bricked if I remove the bootloader flashing part of the script and use a kernel to boot it, or am I wrong?

Amazon varient
Hello. Can this be flashed to the Amazon varient without any issue?

Thanks @EmersonTR for sharing the soak test and linking the base fxz
I have taken the liberty of making a twrp flashable zip of this new build to make it much easier to upgrade; it can be found here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/g4...-fastboots-t3554840/post70987395#post70987395
It is tested on my xt1607 and seems to be working flawlessly.
Enjoy, and please remember to hit the "thanks" button if it helps you!

Has anyone tried on XT1604?

and xt1602? (EU Dual SIM variant)

Thnx. Works ok on xt1604 bought from vodafone romania

OTA has come. What now?

The OTA has just come. I have rooted phone with twrp recovery installed.
What to do now?
As I have read the forum, I should from http://forum.xda-developers.com/ascend-p7/development/recovery-t2811965 install back “Huawei Ascend P7-L10 thanks to XQC”, and that is it?
The phone will be unrooted, so I have to root it again.

OK, thanks. I will do the procedure now.
Regards, and thanks again.
Well, the update has failed.
I am informed to go to the http://www.emui.com/motiondownload.php?mod=restore which doesn't work.
I was able to shutdown the phone and to reboot it again.
Apon booting the phone I got the message that update has failed and by clicking on it I went to the update screen.
Looks like huawei is checking wheather the phone is rooted or something else.
What to do now?
Install stock recovery and then update through OTA. You cannot use OTA with custom recovery.
You didnt read update notes ("make sure your phone has not been rooted...").

I have installed stock recovery in the following way:
1. I have downloaded a zip file (* Huawei Ascend P7-L10 thanks to XQC) from [RECOVERY][ Unofficially Open Recovery TWRP 2.8.1.0 ][ 09/11/2014 ] thread
2. I have unpacked recovery.img from zip file
3. As a root, I have used adb reboot bootloader, fastboot flash recovery recovery.img, fastboot reboot
4. Now I have downloaded and started the update
I believe that this is enough.
Do I have to unroot the phone before update?
Is the stock recovery from the twrp thread OK for this update?

I have option to shutdown the phone and that is basically it.

Let's go in this step by step!
1. Confirm which recovery you have installed, 2.3 or 3.0. If you did not flash official Emui 3.0 than you need emui 2.3 official recovery. Official recovery you can extract from official Emui 2.3 ROMs (you will need 2.3 ROM also for flashing).
2. Flash the needed recovery (if needed).
3. After downloading official 2.3 ROM, open it and check if there is a folder "dload". On that folder should be a file "update.app". Copy the folder "dload" together with it's content on the root of your SD card.
4. Go to settings -> update -> local update and start update (local update) , if local update does not work than try force update.
5. Confirm on the forum

Don't You ever try to run OTA updates or flash Update.zip on custom Recovery like TWRP, You will surely run into trouble with that.
If You have rooted your phone, don't bother to Install OTA, it will end in error.
You must be Running Android one Rom 5.1.1 before you can update to Marshmallow.
I Will explain for those who are on stock Rom/stock recovery and for those who
Have modified their system/ recovery.
INSTALLING MARSHMALLOW ON STOCK 5.1.1 ROM/RECOVERY
INSTALLING MARSHMALLOW ON STOCK 5.1.1 ROM/RECOVERY
IT DOESN'T MATTER YOUR COUNTRY, if you are not getting the update
Automatically, you can download the OTA update.zip and flash
Manually from your phone with stock recovery in an unmodified system.
Grab the MM OTA update zip Here To be able to Install this OTA manually, the updater-script in it expects your Androidone lollipop 5.1.1 fingerprint should be
....../infinix_X510_sprout:5.1.1/LMY47V/1449698622:user/release-keys
If you are a noob and don't know how to view your build.prop don't worry just go to settings about phone, and check if your build date and Android security patch level carries a December 2015 date, if yes you can flash manually.
Place the downloaded update zip in the root directory of your extSdcard
Reboot into recovery (power + volume up together) while the phone is off. if it doesn't work in your phone try using this adb command: adb reboot recovery
You can flash my fix once for all for your phone to boot manually into recovery here Androidone 5.1.1 stcok ROM fix with power and volume+ boots in recovery
Stock recovery will always show an Android logo, yellow triangle and no command, you have already entered the stock recovery, at this point all you have to do is hold the power button down again and tap the volume+ button once.
Use the volume buttons to scroll to 'apply update from Sdcard' hit the power button to enter the Sdcard folders.
Select the zip in the update zip you earlier downloaded and press the power button to start.

INSTALLING MARSHMALLOW ON A MODIFIED SYSTEM/CUSTOM RECOVERY
INSTALLING MARSHMALLOW ON A MODIFIED SYSTEM/CUSTOM RECOVERY
THIS REQUIRES A COMPUTER AND A GOOD KNOWLEDGE OF SP FLASH TOOL
Backup everything with TWRP Recovery to your external Sdcard and keep a backup of it in you PC.
Using SP FLASH TOOL flash my fixed Android one 5.1.1 stock firmware to enable you boot manually into recovery should you need it. Here
Flash the Stock Android one firmware 5.1.1 and Install OTA updates till your Android security patch level is upto December 2015 - that will take about 2 OTA updates if you flashed my fixed Rom.
Download the MARSHMALLOW OTA update zip
Follow all the steps given above for STOCK ROM/unmodified system.
you can also sideload the zip from adb if you know how to
After you've finished the MM update
Flash TWRP Recovery Here
With SP FLASH TOOL. After that (Here is where my Rom fix becomes important) do not reboot the phone. Press and hold the power and volume+ together until you see infinix remove your hand and you'll go into recovery.
You can now restore your backups.
NB: please do not restore everything back only select data partition else you will see yourself back to lollipop.
After that you can flash the following through TWRP Recovery
XPOSED: Make sure its v79 sdk 23 arm
SUPERSU: I tested the systemless Root SuperSU v2.66 beta and it worked fine on MM
Gravity box xposed module: Make sure its the one for MM
MY CONCLUSION
Storage issues of lollipop making extsdcard /Sdcard 0 has been fixed but OTG is still not working.
Lack of customization still persists
There's noticeable lag sometimes and the screen touch got worse than Lollipop.
Doze mode works but not as optimal as in some cm13 an using.
Google now on tap works fine.
Calendar sync had some issues initially.
I don't think it's a great improvement on lollipop yet but we are still in the beta, I believe that stability updates and security patches will make it better.
Enjoy the Marshmallow!

I mean no disrespect but since the build number is slightly different (21.40.01692 vs V21.40.1220.1708 for the ze551kl) could I possibly brick my phone by using the selfie build? I keep checking the specific ze551kl support page to download (bootloader unlocked so no OTA) and still no link to the new M build.

Yeah. I've been following the progress but multi user wasn't working well so I went back to stock. It will come around I'm sure now that they have the mm firmware.
I am testing it now (CM13 with the MM firmware). LukLeet said will be live for everyone today.
BTW, the Z00T firmware was published by Asus on the Z00T page today, but the version is different numbered... Don't know what to say about that.
I have edited the first post.
Kill Root?
I know this is a really basic, fundamental question, but in the past when I had Samsung phones, when an update came we waited around until someone came up with a way to root it again. Will this update to Marshmallow unroot my phone? And if so, is there a method yet to root it again?
Sorry for asking a question that is so basic, but appreciate any answers.
so, any way to root? (without unlocking)
I have reverted to stock for some testing.
Used this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/zen...50kl-ze551kl-zd551kl-ze600kl-ze601kl-t3333482
I have rooted the stock by:
1. unlocking the bootloader (Asus app, other ways might work too, I just didn't care to test anything else, I had it unlocked from a long time ago)
2. after that installing TWRP (via fastboot),
3. after that flashing the latest SuperSU with TWRP.
Now I have stock FW, TWRP and root.
SuperSU download.
ZE551KL Stuck on Lollipop (Unlocked bootloader)
Hello team of professionals!
First, I thank you all for your hard work and development of this device!
I have an issue updating to the latest stock room from Asus.
I had CM13 (Android 6) installed on my Asus Zenfone 2 Laser (ZE551KL).
When I heard that stock marshmallow was released I was interested in installing the ROM.
I tried for several hours to install the update and ended up bricking my phone.
I recovered it by installing the most recent stock Lollipop firmware from Asus' website.
Currently my phone has stock Lollipop with the ROM (UL-Z00T-WW-1.17.40.1531-user)
and stock recovery (attempted to do this so I could upgrade from lollipop to marshmallow)
At this time I am trying to install the most recent (Android 6) update from "UL-Z00T-WW-21.40.1220.1615-user.zip" Downloaded from my device's page on Asus's site however I get errors every time I try.
I tried to update via stock android by placing the update zip on my SD card and launching from "System update file detected" notification.
The update restarts my phone, starts installing (With the little android guy) and then fails with the error:
Code:
Can't install this M package (May 17 2015)
Code:
L less than 20160426 build (Dec 1 2015)
Code:
E:Error in /sdcard/updatefile.zip
Code:

Code:
E: fota_return_code 409
Code:
Installation aborted(EUPDATE_BAD_PARMSE)
When attempting with TWRP:
Code:
Updater process ended with ERROR 7.
Error installing zip file "xxxxxxxxxxx.zip"
Any help would be appreciated
Wipe system and data partitions before attempting. I am not sure if that's possible from stock bootloader, you might need to push (fastboot) TWRP for that.
those instructions dont work
volume up and power button loads into fastboot. You cant select anything from there. So how does this work?

1- first thing u must unlock your phone ... this is how to unlock it ...https://forum.xda-developers.com/huawei-p9lite/how-to/guide-unlock-bootloader-twrp-root-t3405701
2- and then flash TWRP recovery

this works:good:
Hello,
i`ve the Version VNS-L31C02B329 (Vodafone, Android Nougat rooted, TWRP 3.0.1 allready installed) on my phone. I want to use OTG with the P9 Lite. That is only possible with Marshmallow.
Can I debrand and downgrade my phone with this method?

this method works if you are on marshmallow,I dont know about Nougat;I mean version of twrp and other things
I was on Nougat test-keys as you describe and I tried your method. I flashed the OEMinfo you provide (the box my phone came in says VNS-L31 so I think it was right) and then it told me data partition was damaged and I should fix it. I turned it off and flashed the update.app through dload. Now it won't boot at all. Into anything. Black, completely...
EDIT: It seems like it can access fastboot (it shows up when I type fastboot devices), but the screen won't turn on, nor is there any tactile feeling when I press the power button. I tried flashing system.img, boot.img and recovery.img from the update.app, but it still won't turn on.
what about update_data_full_hw_eu.zip should I download it as well?
Can i get back fingerprint setting
When im using cm13 ROM on my huawei p9 lite, suddenly fingerprint option is missing...if I get back through this MM stock ROM update...
Hi.
Aw man i have exactly the same problem, but what i would need is the rollback for the nvs-l23.
Anyone know where i could find this?

Lenovo Z5s Update to ZUI 11.5 (Android 10)

Disclaimer: No guarantees. Follow at your own risk. I am not responsible for bricked phones.
Credits to 4PDA
Prerequisites:
Knowledge of OEM unlocking from Developer options, adb, and fastboot
Knowledge of QPST in case you encounter bootloop, so you can revert to a reliable stock ROM
Unlocked bootloader (from here)
1) Get your bootloader unlocked, if you haven't already.
- Visit https://www.zui.com/iunlock
- Enter the IMEI1 (Second number when you call *#06# with the phone)
- Enter the Device ID from the Bootloader/Fastboot (Hold VOL- and Power, while device is off)
- Enter your email and captcha and set the checkmark to acknowledge voiding your warranty.
- If you get an error saying that your IMEI1 is wrong, put in a sim card and wait a few hours. If it still doesn't work, write an email to [email protected]
- In the developer settings in android, enable usb debugging and oem unlock.
- Flash the sn.img file you receive with fastboot (again, hold vol- and power while the device is off). Command is 'fastboot flash unlock sn.img'. You need compatible usb drivers, qualcom drivers and adb/fastboot to do that. Use google or write me a PM if you have trouble with that.
- execute 'fastboot oem unlock-go'
- This allows you to use fastboot to flash custom system/boot/vendor/vbmeta images

3) Now you can flash TWRP.

In recovery, Format data, then wipe Dalvik/ART Cache, Cache, Data
Reboot to recovery
Install in order, without rebooting, 11.3.169 -> 11.5.096 Update -> 11.5.111 Update.
Install Magisk 20.4
Install TWRP for Android 10 (above) using fastboot if the update replaces stock recovery after rebooting
Edited out from original
Wipe Data and flash Disable_Dm-Verity_ForceEncrypt_08.18.2019.zip
In order not to encrypt Data in the future, install Official TWRP immediately after installing updates. Install > Install Image > twrp-3.3.1-0-jd2019.img
Install GApps
Note: I do not know if the 11.5 update relocks the bootloader. It doesn't lock the bootloader.
I had bootloop from OpenGApps. 4PDA post advises to use BiTGApps. You can install Google Play Store from the built-in Lenovo App Center and that's what I did.
Haven't tried disabling dm-verity and forceencrypt.
Good job, my man, I'll check it out tonight and prepare ourselves an updateable package for people coming from any rom to avoid the hassle of going through all of that. As soon as I get it working will release a new TWRP for Android 10.

Nice job man, so the update works as it should? I'm patching the images and will upload a full ota update to make it easier to move between Pie and 10. Regarding recoverys, did you test any twrp? Any decryption working? What about this official twrp, does it actually work? Thanks for the files man, this will make everything much easier

I've been using the phone on 11.5.111 for a couple of days now.
I flashed both the 3.3.2 TWRP of @wzsx150 and the official TWRP and they seem to be working. I didn't turn off encryption so it seems to work well.
Happy to have helped in a small way. Thank you for your hard work!

I tried unlocking 2 Lenovo phones. The first attempt had sent me an email, but the second attempt did not. The unlock procedure went through though. So I tried changing the link provided in the first email http://cdn.zui.lenovomm.com/developer/lenovoboot/xxxxxxxx/sn.img (xxxxxxxx - serial number of phone) and it worked. This might not work for you though.
As for the OTA, I really am not sure... Probably
