Can I charge my MacbookPro '15 with from usb c with an adaptor to magsafe 2? - Off-topic

I am trying to charge my MacbookPro early 2015 13 inch from a power bank with an output usb c. I am trying this with first an extended usb c to usb c cable and then finally with an usb c to magsafe 2 adapter. This adapter is named the snapnator, you can find it online. I can't parse a link in this article so you guys have to search it yourself....
I'm looking forward to your responses!

Help with chargers / cables

Hello,
So I just ordered a Nexus 5X. I am trying to figure out what the deal is with the issues with some USB C cable and what is the best option for aftermarket chargers.
Correct me if I am wrong, but it seems USB A to USB C cables are 2.4A max. USB C to USB C are 3A max. So the way to obtain the fastest charging possible is to have a 3A wall plug and a 3A capable USB C to USB C cable?
I am content with the OEM charger for the house, so I am mainly trying to figure out what to get for a charger for my car. Should I be looking for a 3 Amp car plug and a 3 Amp cable? Or am I looking for 2.4A / 2.4A? I am totally confused.
Also, I read somewhere that the Nexus 5X has a chip on the logic board that makes it fully compatible for Qualcomm Quickcharge 3.0, and that it may be available later on through an update. Anyone heard this? If so I may as well get Quickcharge 3.0 products.
If someone could please explain this whole USB C ordeal I would greatly appreciate it. Thank You!
EDIT:
I figured it all out. I ended up order the following:
Cable Matters 3.3ft USB to USB C Cable ( This will be my data / sync cable)
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00S8GU2OC?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=od_aui_detailpages00
Cable Matters 3.3ft USB C to USB C Cable ( This will be for my car)
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00WAKL4TY?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=od_aui_detailpages00
Vinsic 3A USB C Car Charger (This has a USB C and a USB Port)
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B014F2NQ36?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=od_aui_detailpages00
The Cable Matters USB to USB C has been confirmed compliant by Benson Leung so I wont have to worry about it frying any USB ports on my computer. lol

Sounds like you got the info just right. What's important about A to C is the resistor used and that it meets specifications. If not it'll be asking a charger for 3.0A when it can't give it possibly leading to burning out the charger. For me, I got the Elegiant A to C cables (which are compliant) for older ports since C isn't as readily available. Good for old car chargers, old wall chargers, hotel rooms, shopping center charging stations, etc. C to C is necessary for full rapid charging so I'm waiting for a car charger and compact battery bank that support 3.0A type C.

Interested in your point about QC 3.0 being future ready. Where did you read that? Link?
Here is a good list of compliant cables, I wish I saw this before I ordered my cable.

Thank you for clarifying. I thought I had it right I just wanted to make sure.
Also, I came across a 3A car charger. I already ordered it. There were a couple reviews that stated it wouldn't run at 3A, but there were also reviews stating that it does run on 3A IF you use the USB C port only. (It has a USB and a USB C Port) So I am assuming the people who had issues were probably using the USB side.

I can't find the article I read that stated QC 3.0 (I think they were wrong anyways), but I did hop over to the iFixit Nexus 5X tear down page. I remembered that they always list the IC's on logic boards for their tear downs. Sure enough, the Nexus 5X has the Qualcomm SMB1358 Quick Charge 2.0 IC.

USB C to C cables?

Is there an advantage to charging with a USB C to A cable? From what I understand, USB C to C supports 3.0 Amps while USB C to A only supports 2.4 Amps. I currently find no problems with the stock N5X C to C charger other than that it's too short. However, I'm having difficulty finding longer C to C cables? Do they need to be compliant to specific specs?
I ordered a C to A cable for data transfer but unfortunately I found out that it doesn't meet spec. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B017IBHXHG?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00
I still use it right now and it works fine but i'm just worried it might damage my computer so in the future i'll have to order one that Benson recommended.
Like you, I thought the C to C cable that came with the phone is too short. I like to keep my phone on top of my dresser at night, and the cable just won't reach. I've had a 6-ft micro USB cable for years that has been awesome with a couple different phones. So I was a little disappointed when I had to stop using it.
I ordered a 6-ft C to C cable from Monoprice (you can find it easily on their website). I'd highly recommend it. It came packaged nicely, and the quality of the cable feels the same as the original Google cable. My phone says it is rapidly charging when I connect that cable to the Google charger. I'm not a hardware expert, but I would expect it's getting the full 3 Amps because both ends are type C. Benson has not reviewed this cable, but it is to spec as far as I can tell. As far as I know, the issues with cables being out of spec are only really problematic for C to A cables, where the phone will attempt to draw more current than the A spec is rated for.

Thanks, i'll check it out. I've heard the same thing about USB C to A so that's why i'm going to stick to charging with C to C when possible.

Does any generic USB C "dock" (HDMI, USB A, charging) work or does it have to support anything in particular?

AAwireless cable replacement

Good morning. Thank you for this site.
Wanting to replace original aawireless cable.
Is the cable USB 3.0 Type C into a USB Type A 2.0?
Thanks in advance. Mike.
I've had a tough time trying to replace my original cable, which works the best for me, it's just longer than I need in my car.
The cable type for you depends on your car, as it's USB C on the AAW end, and USB A for MOST cars on the other end. Some cars might be USB C on the other end as they are more recent.
The big issue is if it's a high quality data cable, not just a charging cable.
I'm on the lookout for a 30cm or 1 foot cable, USB C - USB A.

There is no such thing. It's either 3.1 or 2.0, the ends can't be different. Either should work.
Just buy a quality cable. Anker and Monoprice are well respected.

Ever had the feeling of Déjà Vu? I hear it smells like spam.
This model works perfect, at least the 25cm one that I bought

If you don't need an actual cable, I've been using one of these https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0936PJC2J/ and it's been great.

Inexpensive ($5 shipped) USB C to HDMI adapter

I picked this $5 USB C to HDMI adapter for while I was traveling. I needed to be able to watch TV and charge at the same time.
All the functions work great on my 7t. I am running Linage OS, so YMMV if your kernel doesn't support USB C to HDMI/displayport.

So you're outputting your laptop through this. You are using the TV as a second monitor for your laptop and using another cord to charge your phone through this? you are not outputting anything from your phone to the TV, correct?

I have no idea where you got anything to do with a laptop from my post. I never mentioned a laptop anywhere.
Can you show your cable or other link why it is down
