Thats because the 920C isn't a USA branded device. International only.. Works great with US carriers...

So what firmware can I use to keep from bricking it?

are you looking to stay stock or what are your plans...

I wanna root and check out the s8+ rom if there is one. I like to tinker and see which roms I like the best.
Sent from my SM-N920C using Tapatalk

You have plenty of choices there. I run a S8 port on my 920c they all run great when you look at the roms the dev will mention different models his rom will work on if you see 920c your good to go. You just need to be on a Marshmellow base to run the nougat s8 ports..

There is a app on playstore called phone info for samsung download it and it will give you your csc info among other info thats good to have..

Would it make a difference if I had the Rent A Center version

If their bootloaders are still unlocked there shouldnt be a problem maybe someone out there has one that will chime in.....

It says it's unlocked
Sent from my SM-N920C using Tapatalk

I would say the bootloaders on them are still unlocked and if they are once you install twrp recovery make a backup most important. Im hoping that someone that has a rac 920c will chime in so we know for sure...lol

[ROM][D95910C][T-Mo]Stock, Deodexed, Zipaligned

Well as promised here is the stock, deodexed, zipaligned, carrier IQ free T-Mobile D95910C ROM. I have not tested this on my phone so at this point this is for Developers to use as a base for ROMs, mods, themes, etc. Having said that feel free to use this in your projects, there is no need to ask for approval (but a shout out in the credits would be appreciated).
Non-developers, I am not going to provide instructions on how to adb push this as I think it's to risky for inexperienced users. As soon as we get a recovery I'll make sure the zip flashes correctly and add a download for the stock kernel and modem. Let the development begin.

how would i go about flashing this??? Ive managed to put my phone into a bootloop from modding the LCD Density, and now I cant get booted into Android to accept any RSA fingerprints, and the LG Flash Tool keeps failing at 4 percent when I attempt to return to stock
Honestly without being able too boot into the system I'm not sure if you can adb push. I suggest working on the lg flash tool

Have a free thanks. Two things, first, I honestly have no idea if different variants can flash other ROMs. Second, this is a pure stock, fully bloated, and untested ROM because tmobile doesn't have a recovery yet so it's no what you're wanting anyways. I am working on a full ROM, but us tmobile need a recovery first.

hello and thank you for answering ... finally someone here in the section that he did not pull. Second, I would like to ask if there will be a chance to have a light and fluid with international ROM where improvements are required ... I'll explain ... for example if there was a possibility of unlimited dual window sarevbe a great thing. Honestly I don't know. It's just the /system partition with NO kernel or modem so you can try it and worse case just lgflash to stock. However like I said without a recovery you will need to adb install, but I'm not going to post those instructions so you'll need to google it
Sent from my LG-D959 using Tapatalk
I can be a guinea pig. I have the t-mobile variant and i messed up my gapps so bad that i can't use my device. I can follow directions if someone with more knowledge than myself could explain how to flash this.
I'm seeing a lot of people wanting to flash this so I'm going to flash my device using adb (well kind of). If it works I'll post directions. You will need to have your phone booted up so if it's bricked lgflash it back to life

So not to be persistant but I do believe there is now a way to ADB push CWM (unofficial) on this device and if I flash this is there a specific bootloader that Att has that might kill my device. I use tmobile like I stated before but I got my hands on an Att G Flex and really want to get Wifi Calling to work.

Also if there is no Kernal or Modem would wifi calling even work without the TMO Kernal?
Honestly if you flash this and it doesn't work all you will have to do is lgflash to stock and you'll be fine. Also, in not sure about LG but on Samsung you couldn't use the T-Mobile kernel and modem in an att phone, but Wi-Fi calling still worked when using just a T-Mobile ROM.
Having said that this zip will not flash at this time. I had made it for developers and messed up the zip itself. I'll be redoing it so it's flash able, but I just spent15hours flying and didn't mess with that. I was actually working in native Wi-Fi tethering, by honestly fighting the zip will be easy. Now in not sure where you see a recovery for att, do to mind linking it for me. I've tested a couple things for others, but so fat nothing that works so would live to see what's working. I'd love to do adb pushing all my tests

Gotcha, yes it should work for other international variants. Unfortunately all the US models have a locked bootloader so we can't simply install a recovery right now. There are people with much more knowledge then me working in getting us a recovery, but it's a lot if work so it could be a while. Ill keep looking into possible temp fixes in the meantime.

Actually that was something else I was working on, sorry if I didn't make that clear. This zip isn't flashable at all. I was helping someone else with something today so didn't get a chance, but all I need to do is add the META folder and reupload (after I test it so it'll be Thursdayish). This is completely deodexed so it should be fine.

Ok, every rom now runs on an unofficial 5.1.1 ?

All the roms are now based on a build that's not official at least in the T-Mobile website we still have 5.0.1 aka COD6. My question is if I update my device to the new Android version. Will T-Mobile not notice that ? Im going to jump to a new device soon. But will like to try out the new 5.1.1 see how smooth it is.

I've been with tmobile for about 8 years. My experience has been the people at the tmobile stores could care less if your phone has a custom ROM. Ive wiped my phone front of them the phone goes into a custom recovery. Either they are oblivious or don't care. As long as the phone turns on, the glass is not cracked and there is no sign of water damage, your safe

I presume you are referring to the Samsung Galaxy S6 (SM-G920T)?
If so then yes you can flash SU and TWRP via Odin and install a compatible ROM through recovery.
That's because the bootloader is not locked. Or at least at the moment with 5.1.1

Yes. The T-Mobile S6 variant (SM-G920T) does NOT have a locked a bootloader at present.
The S7 however does and the suspicion (though unfounded at the moment) is that once T-mobile releases the Marshmallow update for the S6 it may lock the bootloader. Thus, it is probably going to be a good idea to wait on taking the Marshmallow update as soon as it is available (if root is desirable).
So will any normal Roms available for the standard GSM s7 work with the T-Mobile model? Also, is installing twrp as simple as something like a Nexus? I haven't been in the ROM game for a while, thanks for the help guys

There won't be any ROMs available for the S7 so long as the bootloader remains locked.

For the umpteenth time yes. You just need to make sure that whatever ROM you want to flash is compatible with the T-Mobile S6 variant (SM-G920T).
There is a T-Mobile Galaxy S6 Android Development forum here at XDA which will have a number of different ROMs to choose from as well as information and support for said ROMs.
Thanks man
