It's too old to get updated lol(And already replaced by A6 10)
Wysłane z mojego SM-T585 przy użyciu Tapatalka

Samsung flagship tablets historically have got 2 major updates.
However the Tab A isn't a flagship device, so it's a bit so so as to what that update is all about.
I wouldn't hold my breath.
I also have the Tab A6 7 which hasn't had one major update. Its stuck with LL 5.1.

Well just seen on sammobile that the SM-T555 has started to be updated to 7.1.1. So hopefully the SM-T550 will follow shortly.

Curious... 555 and 550 have same processor and hardware. What would make the 555 lte firmware not work on the 550 wifi?

That's what I'm thinking but don't want to try flash it and break my tab. Lol

It likely won't boot that is all. The kernels are not interchangeable.

it works OK, just that you will get Phone stuff on 550 wifi version, which may not cause any issue, but probably cause battery drain since it will try to look for phone stuff..etc..

it boots OK both device has the same specs (both has Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 8916)...I download 555 firmware (7.1.1), and build the ROM using SuperRs Kitchen, and flash to my SM-T350 (identical to SM-T550)...is it stable? of course not..but it booted...

Yes but did you boot with the T555 boot image?
In my experience Marshmallow T550 boot images do not boot on the T555.

Still waiting for the update for SM-T550

I used T555 boot image (that comes with firmware)...I was kind of experimenting to see if it will book and works, so my build pretty much experimental build...and yes I was surprised it booted OK...but did not spent a lot of time to see what other stuff works or any FCs...like I said in previous post, it is pretty unstable though..maybe I will spend some more time and see if I can make it stabale, but thinking since this one got 7.1.1, I am sure SM-T350/T550 should be on way in very soon!

SM-T550. First to be reported running 7.1.1 and last to get updated. WTF is that all about?

This is just a joke. Saw an update for the SM-T550 for China on samsung updates live, and it is 6.0.1 still. Not for 7.1.1! getting frustrating to say the least...

I think we should send messages to samsung on twitter and ask when the update for samsung galaxy tab a 9.7 wifi t550 and ask you also give us oreo in a future, we are the users that they work should learn to apple that gives 5 years support to their devices.

Lollipop uses art as its default runtime. Would be tough to make it for an armv6 with dalvic.

ART requires at least a 1.2 Ghz quad-core CPU to work properly. So future single-core/dual-core ones will ship with 4.4.2 instead.

nothings impossible mate.It just takes time and some brains together
Lollipop's source is now submitted to AOSP. But I don't think the SGA will ever run CM12 due to the fact Dalvik is completely absent. Think logically: when OpenGL ES 2.0 was mandatory on Android 4.0, older phones which still used OpenGL ES 1.1 didn't even receive a stable port of it. Now the limitation here is the runtime and not GPU libraries like 3 years ago.

Tried today's build. Installed Cyanogen recovery first but Rom fails to install. Had to use Odin to restore CWM and nandroid.
Anyone get this to work? What recovery is required?
Edit seen developers posts relating to this. Not ready for users yet. We'll have to be patient.

Yeah, me too. I get symlink error. If I"m not mistaken, after reading the log file I found that while extracting some package to our Ace's internal storage, there's an error showed that storage not enough and CWM ignored it, skip the package extracting process. After that, according to update-script, after extracting the package it will make some folder (MKDIR), but also failed. Then CWM ignored it again, skip it to the symlink process. Because not all files are extracted, so the symlink process failed, and you will get " Installation Aborted."
Should our Ace end up with CM11 ?
I will soon upload the log file for reference.

This newest fw needs to be leaked first. Like I said, at&t won't release it officially. But there's a chance root will work since it's an engboot and if the bootloader wasn't updated to v3, you should be able to flash pf2.

[rom] lineageos-13.0

Haven't seen this posted here yet, so making a thread.
yeah, lineageos-13. android 6.0. on the atrix hd. nothing special. This is just pure lineage sources. plus the signature patches for microg. I've been out of the android scene for a while, but my wife got an atrixhd to replace her missing s4, and I couldn't stand seeing just 5.1 on it.
heres the part you might want, a download link: https://www.mediafire.com/?afybm6x0isiaas8

I was using BadBoyz which was made for the U model, on my G model, so this should work for all of you.
Just use the latest bootstack for your specific model, not the one attached on the first post here.
Flash through the latest TWRP and reboot.
No need to make a seperate U or A version.

Thank you very much

I'm sure it works but I'll test it today and will post this topic.
Using it right now on b25 no issues as far as I can tell running smooth
---------- Post added at 12:05 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:02 AM ----------
Correction volte not working with T-Mobile seems like Wi-Fi calling isn't either
---------- Post added at 12:14 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:05 AM ----------
This is by far the fastest and smooth stock Tom I've ever tried! It's awesome!

What do you mean you're using this on B25? This ROM is based off B05 and if you flashed this then you're using B05. Check under your About Phone and find the build number.
What variant Axon 7 are you using? If it's 2017U then maybe that's why your VoLTE and WiFi Calling isn't working because this ROM is for 2017G variants.
Whoa. Chill bro. We have been talking about this all today. I was the willing tester to test on my a2017u and it worked perfect I was just letting people know what's not working. Wi-Fi calling is on there but doesn't register with T-Mobile. Volte isn't there because like you said its based on b05. I'm using the b25 modem and it's working fine on the rom. I'm really starting to hate this whole a2017 u g whatever mess

I am chill  I was just asking because I thought maybe there was a B25 base I wasn't aware of. But now that you clarified you're on the B25 modem your post makes more sense. Didn't mean to come off in a rude way.
Your good my man it's just sometimes on here people can re ask the stupidest questions that everyone has already answered. This is the only phone I've ever had where people ask how to flash a rom 20 times when all they had to do was either A: upgrade there bootstack or B: just follow simple directions lol

What good news, surely it is something apn or permits.
Or call apk.

Still no November Update?

Still have not received the OTA Nov update, went to Dev Images site and I do not see build# ending in A4, see screenshot. Can I manually flash another version, A1/B1...etc?
Anyone else on this Build#?
Thank you

It makes me wonder if the folks that moved to Verizon after they received the November update will get another update.

Bobby, been here since oh droid. Haven't rooted since then. Now 77 you. Do you think Verizon has Google by the balls again, or is this just a 5 g thing.

Not sure if it's a 5G thing or not since I have 5g with the new firmware that I received before I came over to Verizon.

Yes, I know it should be according to all the reports from last week. Today I looked at the Verizon update site and it was finally posted that it's available as of today and to sync your device or wait for it. Would have been nice to just post the OTA file or system image but I guess they can't do that. So hopefully Google will post it sometime today. That's basically what I was saying. I'm curious if you get the update since you just switched to Verizon after the Nov update.

No, I still have the same November update I had. Over on Reddit some folks are already getting it. I compared my build number to theirs and we have different build numbers. Since I'm getting 5g I'm not sure what I'll miss if anything if I have to wait until December for a Verizon build. I won't know if it would activate 5g uw but I wouldn't know anyway since I don't have a 5g chip.

OK thanks. That's the same build as the guy on Reddit. I have build RD1A.201105.003.C1
LOL, I may be stuck between builds until December. If everything is working, I guess I can't complain though. What's the saying? If it ain't broke, don't fix it. ?

On further research it appears that doesn't matter. I think the same version goes out to all phones.
I got my update today and have Verizon 5G Nationwide now
For preferred Network Type (under Mobile Network), do we need to leave Global or LTE/CDMA?
