1. Put this file on your phone SDCARD:update.zip
2. Reboot your phone into recover by pressing VOLUME UP+HOME+POWER.
3. Choose "Install from sdcard"
4. Reboot and you are rooted.
You might have to update Superuser app and su once you root since its older.

[Q] Is there any possible way to root Galaxy Note through odin running 4.1.2?

I installed leaked 4.1.2 on my note. However, when I tried to root it by recovery, I got the message "can't mount sd card." So I searched the net to finde a way to root the device by odin but no way.
So, is there any possible way to root through odin?
dowload and flash philzz kernel for JB. you can find it in the dev. section
and flash through stock recovery, it will give instant root and install cwm
Is it possible without getting "can't mount" problem?

SuperSU on I9000 - Installation failed!

I have recently rooted my Samsung Galaxy S i9000 Gingerbread 2.3.6 XXJW4 and patched it with Semaphore 2.7.4. However I have run into a problem. When I start Super SU a message pops up telling me that the SU binary needs to be updated. I then hit continue and it takes a while to install until I get the dreaded message that Installation failed!
How can I fix this? Please advise

Where is Root.zip ?

Now that Galaxy S is 4 years old.... but I bought a Galaxy S only yesterday. I searched a lot on xda and Google, but coudn't find
what I wanted.
Please share update.zip or root.zip package which can be flashed via stock recovery to root GT-I9000.
Thanks
#Gingerbread.v2.3.6
If you just want root use this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2130276 and if you want a custom recovery + root then you can flash this via "Mobile Odin" (use the free version as you'll only be flashing a kernel) just extract the .zip file so you have one .tar file and flash http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=788108

Framaroot doesn't work . Only one exploit was available. It says "Success" but after reboot SU app icon doesn't appear.

ok maybe try again but instead of rebooting and losing root first install SuperSU or SuperUser then update the binary THEN reboot and see if that works. not sure if it will but it's worth trying.
EDIT: did you test for root after you rebooted because I'm not sure but sometimes the SU app icon is hidden.

For i9000 you should use SuperOneClick root tool, enable USB debugging, extract and open the tool and simply connect the phone while booted in OS (not download mode) it will root your phone through ADB.
It is more recommended to flash any custom kernel that will give you also custom recovery with which you can make a nandroid backup.

Please Help.. I have tried everything to root my phone.

I am the verizon s7 edge sm-g935v . I have download all the tools needed, superuser, odin and the root file.. This is where the problem happens i try to use odin to install the root file only its a zip file and odin only works with tar. Everyone keeps teeling to just use the custom recovery like twrp but that is not on the phone, correct me if i am wrong the phone needs to be rooted before you can have custom recoveries on them? Please someone provide me with a link of step by step instructions to root my phone. PS using one of the methods i have some how erased the factory reset ability from the phone. Right now there is no recovery. The phone is still working I just can't reset it at all. Goes into a boot lock screen if I do.
