P8 Lite (2017) Full Bricked, Error 255 - P8 Lite (2017) Discussion

Hello!
For quite a while I've been having the PRA-LX1C432B106 with no OS. I have been searching the XDA forums for possible solutions and have tried Sir ChinHon's unbricking tutorial and many others. Unfortunately, my System partition is only 1921MB, which means I cannot restore that partition with the available ones, as I receive Error: 255 (extractTarFork() process ended with ERROR: 255 whenever the restored size gets close to the maximum size of my partition).
If anyone could help me with this, it would be so much appreciated!
UPDATE: Solved by using K-Rom!

My bootloader is unlocked, frp unlocked, I can access recovery, I restored vendor and cust partitions using some twrp restores and I know that with the vendor partition i had an error which was solved by changing the file system to EXT4 and i think it was wiped and no, i can't find the update.app on the firmware finder or for that matter on the internet.

I wiped data, unmounted, mounted, tried to restore backup and I still have that error. And I think it's because I do not have enough space on the System partition, I don't think it has anything to do with the data partition. Thanks a lot for the suggestion, though

Okay, let me explain better. When I go in TWRP into Wipe and Advanced Options and I check the System Partition, it shows me that i have 1921MB Total. I tried to restore that backup and it gave me the error. Went to restore only the system partition and I saw it had over 2000MB. And that is the cause of the error. I would need a backup with less. I don't know why my System Partition is so small and I can't resize it or something.

First make a factoryreset in the stock recovery. Then in TWRP wipe data and system and restore the rescue rom. Or take the K-Rom V.3.1.

I got it to work by using the K-Rom v3!!!! Waiting for the 3.1! Thank you so much man, you are a god! <3

The K-Rom V.3.2 is ready and is now extensively tested. If everything goes well it comes Sunday night online. This Rom is however a complete firmware with all partitions, also data.

I need help. My 3T has no OS and won't mount data partition in twrp.

I guess I wasn't paying close enough attention and I tried installing the 7.0 update from this thread.
I can now only get to TWRP recovery and fastboot. When I'm in TWRP my internal storage says 0MB and it won't let me mount the data partition. Flashing anything fails.

Flash the stock recovery through fastboot. You can use the toolkit found here on xda forums.
Also you can format data in TWRP and then it should work, but you lose everything in internal storage, pics, music, all your own stuff.
Thanks guys. I got the stock recovery installed and it wiped everything, which was fine. I already backed up important stuff. It seems the update went through because I have Nougat now. But I'm having trouble installing any other roms. It wants to decrypt but it doesn't work. I read on the TWRP post that you can set a boot password and it would update the crypto key type or something and it should work after that. Well I did that, but twrp still won't accept my password and let me flash anything.

I just did this and it worked in TWRP: I was able to create a backup (which is not possbible in password-bugged state) and then I noticed I still was not able to mount the USB partition and thought I had to boot in to OOS once, so I did it, set up the bare minimum and then checked back at TWRP and voilà: Locked again.
The OOS said "encrypted" as well after I booted it.
I was (am) running 7.0, TWRP, non rooted (because I freaking can't)
Anynone can help here?

,Using the toolkit take the option 14....To push decryption..,
DONT boot to your ROM...With the toolkit push the SuperSU and then flash it...
Now you can boot to your ROM....
If you boot without SuperSU will reenforse encryption.....

So there is currently no way to root and use TWRP without completely disabling encryption?
I'm having the same issues as the OP here. Whenever I go to use the toolkit it says "the system cannot find the path specified." Any ideas? I've tried within Android and in TWRP..

[Help][SOLVED] Bugs after rooting Huawei PRA-LA1 (P8Lite2017 GR3 2017)

Hello guys,
Can anyone please clarify to me the source of my problem:
I've tried to root my PRA-LA1 (Huawei GR3 2017 PRA-LA1C185B120) without making a TWRP backup of my partitions :crying: I wiped the data and cache but after that when accessing to system I am not anymore able to:
-access developer options
-setting Pin, Password or enrol a fingerprint
-doing a factory reset from security options
-uninstalling any app even those I've installed
I've already try to flash (boot.img, both recoveries imgs, system.img ) without any success but can't flash vendor.img (Command not allowed)

After multiple trying and boot loops, here is what I did to solve my problem
1- I have an UNLOCKED FRP and UNLOCKED bootloader
2- I Downloaded the B182 TWRP Backup from This Post Made By ChinHona used the rooted version from this link
3- I used TWRP to make a Backup of my own partitions just in case , and I made a full Restore Without oeminfo and Version
after that the phone has booted (after some reboots of course )and it's working properly but the version still PRA-LA1C185B120 to fix that I have opened my own version.emmc.win backup in a HexEditor and searched for every occurrence of C185B120 and replaced it with C185B182 reflashed it with TWRP with skipping MD5 Check and that's it.

TWRP can't flash anything.

I recently dusted off my Nexus 6 to test a few projects on and wanted to update everything. But no matter what I try within TWRP, every zip/img fails. Any guidance on how to repair the filesystem would be helpful. The attached images is the error. For now it seems shamu has been beached:crying:

Update to the latest TWRP and see if that helps. You want version 3.2.1-0.

Your safest bet would be going for a factory image, and then reflash twrp and then try again to see if everything is allright.
Or try formatting data from TWRP, like person above me mentioned. USB Drive+otg adapter might come in handy to keep stuff you want to flash there

TWRP not decrypting my data

I used fastboot to flash twrp-3.5.0_9-0-raphael.img. I used TWRP make a full backup to internal memory. Then I flashed xiaomi.eu_multi_HMK20ProMI9TPro_21.2.24_v12-11.zip which didn't work. So back to fastboot->TWRP to restore backup.
But it doesn't ask for my pattern anymore! All my files remain encrypted. Command line adb shell twrp decrypt fails too.
Is there a special TWRP version that can help me out? Or is it game over?

So it appears I made the mistake of dirty-flashing Android 11 over Android 10.
