Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Tempered Glass Screen Protectors - Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Accessories

Im a fan of totally clear tempered glass screen protectors, but all too often they have colouring on them.
One seller I've seen on ebay who is doing a completely clear one:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/162634872550
One with coloured parts on Amazon UK:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Galaxy-Note-Vigeer-Bubble-Free-Installation/dp/B074C4KX3G
Another on Amazon UK with coloured parts, different design:

Surely whitestone is going to be the one to get again?

I contacted Whitestone. They said the domed glass should be released early September so we could have them before the release date (If the release date is actually Sept 15th).
I really like it on my S8+. A little thick, but no lack of responsiveness. Only other complaint is that dusk collects along the edge of it.

I will be waiting a bit before ordering one

Going with this one for now: https://www.amazon.com/Protector-Co...83391&sr=8-3&keywords=note+8+screen+protector
I have had pretty good luck with this company for a while.

I'd try out the tempered glass protectors but not for retail price. Hopefully they do better than what is available for the S8+.

been looking at this one too. I typically do not use screen protectors but will on the Note 8. Can you tell me how well these work with cases?
Thanks

I havent been able to find a glass screen protector that would work with a case. The other problem is that these screen protectors only stick to the edges of the phone.... If there was a flat screen option I would have bought that..............

Yes, I'm worried about using a tempered glass screen and a case.

Doesn't look case-friendly

I used one from Armoursuit on my note 7 and liked it enough to put it on my s7e. Unfortunately they won't have any until the 15th. I order one similar and a tempered glass. Figure I'll try them both. Supposedly case friendly

I saw that, they say due in stock in 3 to 5 days. I guess they ship from the UK though, because they said shipping to the US takes 10 to 14 days.
I'm hoping Amazon will get them in at the same time Mobile Fun does. Then I should have it in two days

Does anybody have a recommendation for a relatively inexpensive, but potentially "good" case-friendly glass screen protector?
Obviously, with nobody yet having the devices themselves, it's going to be difficult to assess whether fit, etc, is good, but if anybody has experience of a brand/manufacturer that has done good things on other devices with non-flat screens, then that could be useful to know - I don't plan to use my Note 8 without some protection, and I've always found plastic protectors to be poor with regard to feel and their oleophobic properties, and often attract dust.
I'm thinking I'll get something that will more than likely be cheap, but reasonably performing, until such time as there are reviews of different protector models with experience of being used on the Note 8 before committing myself to a bigger purchase, such as a Zagg or a Whitestone.

I think the only logical screen protector will be those ones that are similar to paint protection film applied on cars. I put one on my wifes S8, didnt look too bad, Used a bit of heat from the hairdryer.

Plastic protectors seem to fall into two categories; stretchy "military grade" stuff which can be a bit "orange peely" and grippy to the touch, and a film which seems to offer less protection, but suffer from finger prints.
Best plastic I've seen is the iCarez on the Note 4, which gave good protection and feel, but was a bit of a dust magnet.

I'll be getting a Skinomi Tech Glass tempered screen protector when they're available. Had them on the Note 2 and Note 5 and on the Tab S 8.4. Haven't disappointed me yet.

Tempered glasses don't fit right on curved edges and you have to touch screen harder for it to respond

But Zagg doesn't list them as available on their web site yet. I'm not as interested in a screen protector as I am having Zagg cover the back of my phone. Their product is great. I like the gripping feel of it. The screen of the focus is Gorilla Glass so that why I'm not going to cover it.
Do you have a reference link to the Focus being built with Gorilla Glass?
Att has a zagg shield thats a dry install and is pretty nice. Its not as grippy as the wet but feel similar.

I installed the InvisibleShield on my Focus. I really like the matte finish on the back. I took it to the booth in the mall and had the invisibleshield guy install it for me for free (usually like $7, i think.) Just FYI, it may be a dry protector, but you can still install it as if it were wet.

Scratch
Well then I have a defective screen because I have a scratch
I'd feel better with a protector on it myself.
I was looking at the Skinomi. Has anyone used them before? Most of the reviews on other phones seem mostly positive. They have both a screen protector and a full body protector.

Mine should be here any day now. I got the full phone covering. I'll report back...
Zagg is now supporting the Focus...
http://www.zagg.com/invisibleshield...es-screen-protectors-covers-skins-shields.php
I've used Zagg on my last 2 phones and highly recommend it. It is really great stuff. You can argue that you don't need this with the Focus screen, but if you still want one, I would go with Zagg. The most important thing is to follow the installation instructions exactly.
My recommendation is NOT buy the Full Body coverage... just get the Screen Coverage. Get a nice case instead. Zagg can (not always) start peeling very slightly on the edges from repeated rubbing with your hand. I've seen this happen on 2 of my friends phones who had full body coverage. The good thing is, Zagg will send you out a new one free, no questions asked (you do have to pay shipping though). They are pretty good about it. Also, if you don't like it, it is removable.
I went ahead and ordered the Zagg. 14.99 isn't bad even with the 2.99 shipping. I don't feel comfortable until I get something to protect this screen.
I got the Skinomi. I followed the instructions and still ended up with a lot of bubbles\wrinkles. Also I'm not sure that the "full body" skin is even needed. I certainly can't see how the side pieces are supposed to fit around the buttons and headphone jack anyway.
I give this product a huge thumbs down. A waste of $20.
Thank you for the heads up. I ordered the Invisibleshield instead. Hopefully, this will fit the bill.

Galaxy S6 Edge Tempered Glass Screen Protector Thread

The dual edge of the Galaxy S6 Edge is a bit a huge challenge for manufacturers, I have been looking one as a preparation as the edge is my pick for the two phones, so far only one manufacturer that I found.
Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Tempered Glass Screen Protector
I would love to have the Zagg but still waiting for it
I would be keeping my eye out for manufacturers that came out with a Galaxy Note Edge tempered glass solution; but I couldn't find many. I bet those will be the ones to release Galaxy S6 Edge tempered glass solutions first.
I am on the lookout for one too
Nice find bro, but so far it is still in its early days, we have to wait for at least a month to see much more better screen protectors

Unless if the glass just arrives in a form-fitting way for the phone... idk, those companies have a challenge to overcome, for sure.
With gorilla glass 4 you don't need screen protector people.. Believe.. I have 2 year with S5, Z3, Note 4 and I never use this.. My screen is like new... The Screen protector is a simple deal for 3th part... Good luck.. Waiting 4 my S6 edge.. ????

No. Just regular screen protectors.
I also used those without any scratch agree to you.
As the owner of a Note Edge who have spent countless hours in the last couple months trying to find a screen protector (of any kind) that fully cover the entire screen, my advice is to be on the cautionary side when looking at the pictures that the suppliers post for their product. I myself have searched on Amazon, Ebay, as well as many screen protector websites, so far I have purchased about 5-6 screen protectors form various different suppliers, and only one was able to cover the entire screen of the Note Edge.
I have not looked at tempered glass for the Note Edge, as there is a long discussion thread in the Note Edge accesories subforum talking about delays in bringing tempered glass to the Note Edge.
I will be getting the S6 Edge as soon as it is released, and of course I will be looking at getting screen protectors, but I will definitely double check and make sure before making the purchase.
If you guys are hoping for a tempered glass for the edge you can forget it. The only ones that you will find are those that dont cover the edge, just the flat part of the screen. This is normal, Tempered glass is not meant to be anything else else than flat. The only way they could achieve a full cover glass protector is if they create a piece of glass thicker than the screen assembly and carve out the silhouette of the edge. This would mean such a propector would cost 4-5 times the price of a regular one.
I think nobody will have other choice than switching back to plastic or rubber protectors

As mentioned earlier in the thread, iLoome was experimenting with a curved glass screen protector so it IS actually possible to make these. I think they're just trying to figure out the proper curvature is all for adherence purposes but otherwise these are doable (albeit may be expensive if/when released).

Experimentation has nothing to do with possibility. They've started experimenting in November and look now, a third of a year later and nothing. Like I said, the only way to do such a proptector is to create a piece that it thicker than the screen of the edge and carve out with a diamond tip the onside of the protector to the curvature of the edge.
One of the researcher for a major cell phone accessory company published an explanation of the challenges of tempered glass protectors in response to the great disappointment of the client following the "halo gate" of the Note 4. The only thing i remember his saying was this:
"You cannot bend tempered glass, you cannot shape tempered glass because it's designed to break in to a million little pieced just like the back window of your car which makes it practically impossible to shape to the contours without giving up something, either strength, flexibility or hardness. The only thing that is possible is carving, just like we carve the side of the protector to be more rounded and pleasant to the touch."
Looking for the ideal tempered glass screen protector is quite a challenge. I'd rather settle with a film protector. There are lots of good quality film protectors that definitely looks like glass, without the glare and all that stuff. I have tried quite a few, the latest was IllumiShield screen protector. So far, it is looking good on my current phone, S4. Most likely, I'll be sticking with this film protector until I found a really, really worth glass shield for the S6. Anyhow, we still have a month to go so hopefully something great would come out.

Limited quality screen protectors...

Ok, I'm done with these dumb glass screen protectors. I've tried like 3 different brands and they all have problems. I currently have the pleson one, but it doesn't stick to the screen properly and degrades responsiveness. And does anybody notice how incredibly cheap branded accessories there are for this phone??? Lol. Anyway, I'm going back to my regular style of protectors....the glass ones are too thick and I don't like them. So my real question, has anybody tried the IQ shields?
OnePlus 3 Screen Protector, IQ Shield® Matte Full Coverage Anti-Glare Screen Protector for One Plus 3 Bubble-Free Film - with Lifetime Warranty https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01GQWLLIU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_QFwKxb94W483A
yeah... avoid both pleson and yootech products i have used them both the 9h tempered glass which only adheres the top and bottom and their 3x pack of pet film... and they are badly designed... its so hard to apply the pet film... long story short avoid pleson and yootech i left reviews on the amazon site..
iq shield uses a solution to apply the screen protector just like armorsuits.. and i know armorsuits are good.. so its up to you, personally i dont like that kind of application since sometimes... they are not permanent .. if not applied well enough ..
I've got reviews of both the skinomi and iq shield ones on amazon, but ugh. You can't see crap on them and I went to the pleson/yootech full tempered.
The matte distorts all colors and you cannot read anything if apps have white backgrounds.
Good luck reading on this

I didn't buy the matte IQ shield. Instead, I opted for the clear one. And I am soooooo happy now! It's just like the old ZAGG protectors. Fits perfectly on the screen, and almost could adhere to the rounded curves. Overall, best protector. The glass ones can kiss my you know what. Lol.
I too am done with the glass I wish they worked but they simply dont. I have installed the pleson from Amazon:
OnePlus 3 Screen Protector [3D Full Coverage], PLESON® [3-PACK].
Which offers full coverage and doesn't feel sticky like a skin its more of a plastic finish and doesn't affect responsiveness.
Make sure you are in a dust free environment and take your time to align and them smooth out the bubbles. It went on perfectly with patience.

Can you post pictures of the borders, how big is the gap of the visible screen that isn't covered? Also exactly like the pre-installed one? Because the Orzly plastic protectors are slightly wider and only leave a smaller gap then the pre-installed one.
Also funny, the company is based in my hometown. Might as well stop by when I visit home next time lol.

That sucks then if it's exactly like the pre-installed one and not even slightly wider, that's way too narrow then.

case friendly screen protectors for note 8

hey guys
like many here i pre ordered the note 8. i also have a UAG Monarch case pre ordered.
since this is my first phone with a edge screen i noticed that it will be kinda hard to find a good screen protector. for 2 days im looking through amazon to find something but for now it seems impossible to find something decent.
glass screen protectors seem to be really bad on edge phones so i really don't want or need one of those. also because i only get a screen protector for minor scratches and not for other reasons like a shattered screen.
also there are so many cheap asia products which seem to be from the same factory but just rebranded with different names. the protectors, the packaging, everything looks the same except the name on it. mostly them, but also many others got so many fake reviews that i will not buy them ever, even if they were really good, which i doubt.
for example stuff from those companys: supcase, profer, cubevit, g-color, danibos, klearlook, moko, yootech and so on. all fake and crap.
i also looked for a s8+ screen protector just so i can see which brand is good and which one i should get for the note 8 but there isn't even something good for the s8+. WTF!!! even the one from spigen seems to be crap.
so can any one in here recommend me a simple nice tpu screen protector with edge sides covered which will also be case friendly???
i had a s4 before and i took of my screen protector 6 months ago. since then i got many minor scratches even tho i got nothing then my phone in my pockets. so i don't want this to happen with my new phone.
please guys im getting crazy here. only 10 more days to find something. thanks!!!
ok i think i will try this one and hope it will be good.
maybe someone else in here tried this brand already on s8/s8+ and can tell me something about it?
thanks!!

I'm not a big fan of plastic protectors - in terms to protecting against scratches they are better than nothing, but generally suffer from poor oleophobic properties, don't feel as "slick" as glass, and sometimes mark up when using the S-Pen.

i gave in and had best buy put on an invisibleshield hd on my note 8.. I am pleasantly surprised by the nice feel and so far no spen issues with marking..its case friendly and im glad i had them apply it.. (also price matched for $19.99 from zagg) i went through 2 different tempered glass ones off amazon ..Honestly i think im going to keep this one on for the duration.. it fits perfect and since its case friendly theres no lifting up at the edges.

Maybe it's too early. Have wait for manufacturers to catch up.

better don't wait. edge phones are here for a long time and it was always the same. nothing gonna change as long as there are no cheap whitestone copys on the market

The one that came with my case is good. No issues with sensitivity and it's clear. Works well and fits perfectly inside the case.

Check out the current thread on whitestone. There's no way I'd pay $50 for one protector. I bought three for a fraction of the price of one of theirs and am totally satisfied with the one I'm using now.

There obviously could be a huge variation in the quality of the sticky-edged/dot-matrix type protectors, but it's difficult to imagine any coming close to the performance of the Whitestone with regard to sensitivity, clarity, fit and feel.
The Whitestone isn't cheap, but it is very good.

Yeah I get that. Using the one that I linked, I honestly can't justify paying the price for whitestone. It can't be 5 times better but costing nearly 5 times more.... It needs to be.

Well, the Whitestone is 100 times better than the p.o.s. protector I put on to start off with.

Lol yeah I hear ya. The first one I used was absolutely a p o s.
I'm really happy with this $15 one though
How is about this Ghostek case? How is the sensitivity? Anyone every try this before?

This works well for me.
Note 8 screen protector/cases
I have the Note 8 with a Zagg HD Clear Invisible Shield (not the glass one) and a Otterbox Defender case. Not happy with either. The Defender case pushes on the edges of the screen protector and it peels up. Not too happy with the Otterbox Defender holster. It's flimsy and doesn't hold on to the case very well. I have problems with my phone being popped or pulled out of the holster of something rubs or catches on it. It comes out pretty easy. It's not held in the holster very well at all. Anyway, I just purchased a Whitestone. I hear they're the best glass protectors. As far as compatible cases, I know there are some YouTube videos that people test screen protectors with various cases.

I ordered mine the end of last week. It was shipped USPS so might be here today or a week from Friday
I'd love to know if this will work with Ringke cases.
This screen protector looks promising

I've seen a review that indicates that it won't, and from looking at the Ringke Onyx I have, I can understand why that might be. I've got a cheap TGSP that won't fit through the front of the aperture of the Onyx which implies that it comes around the front of the phone too much (I don't have my phone yet, so I can't be 100% sure). However, I also have the Ringke Slim, and the protector drops through the front of that no problem, so I think it will be fine with that case, and am hoping that the Whitestone will be the same..

Yeah, I've seen one mention of the Bezel style not working. I have the fusion and Onyx, and I'm not really willing to use a different case brand because I make use of the lanyard loop.

The Ringke Slim has the lanyard loop, but probably doesn't quite offer the same level of drop protection that the TPU cases do.

There is a video on YouTube that tells you which cases work and don't with Dome Glass.

They did test one and it was not compatible. Ringke Bevel is the one they tested.
Here is the case I went with that is compatible.

Ive said this before and I will say it again, the only screen protectors that will give us curved screen users some satisfaction will be the old skool wet apply ones, even those need a little assistance with a hairdryer to get the edges to adhere.

Yes, they provide better edge to edge coverage on a curved screen but I'm never going back to PET screen protectors. I don't like the "orange peel" look and feel. They also tend to lift over time. Worst part is they provide very little protection in case of a drop on the screen At least the glass ones take the brunt of a face first fall. I've had a few glass protectors crack when dropped but I have yet to crack a screen with a glass protector on.

Id rather be looking at a pile of dog poo than one of those curved glass screen protectors on my screen. I will be more than happy to use the plastic rubbish wet applied rubbish than those.
