[Q] I need help getting Google Play to work on my Asus Memo Pad me176cx 2014

After following this guide to unbrick and root my tablet:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help/unbrick-asus-memopad-7-me176c-cx-t2970049
I found that I could not update my tablet, and after 7 hours straight of bashing my head against the wall I don't even care anymore. I just want to get google play to work.
I tried manually downloading google play services and google play itself but that did not work, upon launching google play it simply shuts itself off.
If anyone can point me in the right direction to solving this hot mess I'd be in your debt.
Thank-you for your time in advanced, I'm sorry I'm such a noob...
Nobody can help me?
Hi,
I will have your thread moved to your device section.
Good luck!
Did you do a factory reset?
wipe data + cache?

Sorry my reply is... a bit late, but as I mentioned I did everything this thread instructed.

a factory reset would not help in this circumstance, the thread mentioned above would be able to explain it better then I could. A reset would probably re-brick the device.

Can't send/receive SMS from stock conversations app after root

Hi,
I have rooted my Sony Xperia Z3 Compact yesterday. I have also installed Xposed framework and GravityBox. I'm using pre-rooted D5803_23.4.A.1.232_R5C_Central Europe 1 Generic_1288-7915 FTF.
My problem is that I can't send and receive SMS message on stock Conversations app. When I send message, I get floating popup 'Can't send message'. In another apps like Hangouts etc, everything works fine.
Does anyone know what can I do, beside changing sms app to another?
UPDATE:
Only Hangouts allows me to send and receive sms
I have the same issue, only Hangouts works as an SMS app, nothing else... any solutions?

I almost always have this problem when I flash clean pre-rooted FW and start using the phone for the first time.
Simple solution - hard reset using settings. The problem immediately disappears

Where is that option? Are you talking about factory resetting the phone?
I can't find a hard reset option in any settings, you have to be more specific please :crying:

Yes, writing hard reset I meant factory resetting the phone, I just couldn't find a proper words
Oh boy this is messed up.
Will I loose root after that?
And will I have to do it every time I update my phone with a pre-rooted FW?
Did you managed to fix this issue with factory reset? Did you lost root access?

It was an issue on the very first version of MM that the phone (APN) settings weren't updating, but it's been fixed long ago.
The latest version is now 23.5.A.1.238

How to remove Google Play installed apps?

I purchased a used Moto X 2013 and installed TWRP & upgraded it to Retribution firmware (5.1.1). This phone is a developer edition with bootloader unlocked.
For some reason I am unable to remove apps that I installed via Google Play. Everytime I try, it reboots the phone. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Sorry for the newbie question but I tried searching for the answer and couldn't find anything that helped.

Try to factory reset the phone, there could be some problem with data or the ROM you've installed itself.
Thanks for the suggestion. Before installing the new ROM, I factory reset 4.4.2 and had the same issues with removing apps. Then after I installed Retribution, I also factory reset with the same problem.

you can backup all your data to SD card from Settings
This won't do copy 1to 1. Back in settings does not do back up like titanium backup. All app i will have to download and install. Apps which aren't in play store or cracked apps won't be install. Plus all internal settings in each app won't be safe. This backup in settings is useless.

Yes. then try Migrate app or Swift Backup. I think that's what you need.

Thank you for answer. Do those apps need root access? I have forgotten to mention apps need to work without root
