Xposed - Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Questions and Answers

Good day all
Will xposed work on Note 8 (N950FD)?
Thanks in advance

I would guess that an installer for an S8+ might work since it is basically the same device. Since rooting with TWRP and SuperSU I've flashed a few things meant for S8 devices and they either work properly as is or with very minor script tweaking.

Did you pass SafteyNet?
Thanks in advance.

Hello with xposed what stuff is actually working and is it stable at all for daily use please?

I don't think it ever works with a different country device, or on a rooted phone.

Which root do you have—SuperSU or Magisk? I have Magisk, so tried with 26-07-17-xposed-systemless-v87-sdk25-by-PurifyOS.zip but that throws me into a bootloop directly?
How did you proceed chronologically?
First the Xposed apk (which one?), then flash the Purify zip? Did you wipe anything before or after, data or cache? I've read many conflicting reports, since you've done it should be possible to replicate it…

Hey guys,
Trying to install the systemless XPosed for Nougat on my Note 8, but for some reason, after installation, it stops my 256GB Exynos Note 8 from booting up. Was able to recover it by running the Magisk uninstaller via TWRP.
Noticed that on the official XPosed thread, it states that it'll 'cause boot loop issues on stock Samsung ROM, but on the Systemless XPosed Page, it claims the SDK 24 and 25 are universal, so, what's wrong?
Any suggestions on getting systemless XPosed working on my Exynos Note 8 with Nougat? I especially want the systemless variant as it allows easy on/off whenever I'm going shopping and want to use Android Pay instead of having to uninstall all modules.

With me is this happening, did the process and pokemon jog go wheel with root, however when I install Xposed does not work, I downloaded the zip and the apk Xposed, desintalei what was, I was in recovery installed the zip, when you restart disable the root by magisk manager and I run the game without success, to turn off the Xposed and restart the game runs, but when active and restart does not work, sometimes the apk Xposed for work, or is giving error and asking to check records, someone help there? They will excusing my English
So at this point I can't log into pogo because I have Xposed installed (systemless). I was using magisk with phh super user...wasn't working with SuperSU (even with compatible magisk)
At this point if I do a soft reboot it deactivates Xposed (for whatever reason) I can play Pokemon but have to reboot to activate Xposed. So anytime I want to play I have to soft reboot then full reboot. Luckily I don't have to go through optimizing apps...but is there a way around this?
Someone bored should make a zip that removes everything and reinstalls the rest of the stuff needed.

You?
I rather wait for an xposed update. I can play with 0.35 if I really get the itch in the meanwhile. I hardly battle and until legendaries start to appear, I'm just slowly leveling up.
If 86.2 is working, like someone mentioned on the other thread, there has to be a workaround for the 86.5 (maybe a future 86.6?)
Only gripe is that Google is all over this because of paynet so it will be a constant battle.
Only way to calm down this race is for Google/Niantic easing pressure on pogo security so there aren't so many people trying to hack the system and leaving paynet alone.
That would be the smartest move for all (not mentioning calming down thousands of root users).
Interesting times

Actually systemless xposed v86.2 is working fine woth Pokemon go. Some people posted the steps in the other thread.
So I flashed the latest chainfire SuperSU 2.78 r1, v86.2 systemless xposed, and suhide v0.53. Everything works good only problem I'm having excessive location jumps to/from real location while playing pogo with xposed pokemon. Used to have the odd jump back/forth but this is every 5-10 seconds.

I have tried so many times to do xposed systemless but none of them worked.
I returned to stock image. I created file with "SYSTEMLESS=true" in /data/.supersu
I flashed SuperSU 2.78. Then I flashed systemless xposed v.86.2.
I flashed suhide 0.53. wipe cache/dalvik and nothing works because I think its detecting the xposed framework

Magisk requires a full boot too load is modules, that's why xposed is disabled with a soft boot.
You can also use the disable xposed toggle in the material xposed installer. It would still require a reboot.
Guess I'm out of luck. My phone doesn't meet SuHide requirement. I'm running twrp v.2.8.7.0 not v.3.x.

When SuperSU asked if I wanted to recover the boot image (I think it was that) I said no.
Issues with that?
Checking patch status
SuperSU patched boot detected!
Adding auto patch scirpt for supersu
SuperSU image mount failed...
Will still try to complete installation
Device still does boot...which I guess is still a good sign.

CTS profile mismatch will happen if you're using SuperSU.
The one thing that went wrong was you saying no to restoring the boot image backup. If you want to use MagiskSU you'll need to flash it over a boot image that doesn't have the SuperSU patches.

I could careless about SafetyCheck as I need Xposed modules.
Besides, that, then Magisk is working? That was pretty simple. Thank you for your help.
Reading thru your thread, I cant really see what SafetyCheck implies. Does it just affect that stupid Pokemon crap? I imagine it affects more things like banks but I dont think mines will depend on that.

Magisk works fine with SuperSU. It's if you'd ever want to hide root from some process or app that you might have some trouble, since Magisk Hide is developed with MagiskSU in mind.
There are some banking apps, Android Pay, Pokemon Go other apps that utilise SafetyNet. I do believe that more and more apps will use in the future and the cat and mouse game of hiding root is gonna continue...

I use Xposed modules in my daily life and cannot afford to be without them.

Magisk v12 loses root after a short while.

I noticed today that I lost root. I searched and tried everything to fix it but I couldn't. So, I wiped out my entire phone and did a clean flash of Resurrection Remix 5.8.3 for the TMobile Note 3. Magisk worked after a clean flash.
Spent hours loading every app back on and now, Magisk isn't working again?
Please help?
Android version is 7.1.2.
Did it really lose root? I've found that randomly when you open Magisk it will claim that it has no root access, but when you close it (exit the app and swipe it away from the recents menu) and reopen it it will start functioning properly again.

If you installed magisk it will remove built in root automatically. -_-
Did you turn off magisk busybox ? It would help on fix that.
In another way, some of modules you installed may have potential to make you lose root. Trying to do enable/disable module to test it.
I did some more searching and someone said just flash Magisk again. I did that and it worked! But, then I lost root again several hours later, seems so random? I flashed Magisk again and it worked again.
I can only get two green on Magisk, the third green seems to run forever, I left it on for 10+ minutes and it still showed "testing".
BTW, I didn't flash the uninstall Magisk zip before re-flashing. I tried that way and my phone got into a bootloop. Luckily, I had a TWRP backup.

I just want to clarify.
If systemless SuperSU is detected, Magisk will use that. If any other root is installed, the installation script will attempt to remove it and install MagiskSU instead (not sure to be successful and might lead to issues). If no root is installed, MagiskSU will be used. To avoid issues, the unSU zip is quite useful.
From v13, Magisk will no longer be compatible with SuperSU.

It is because your device lost safety net.
You need to reflash system and gapps.
Back up data partition then wipe all then flash rom and gaps and then magisk.
After starting device first enable magisk hide.
Then restore backed up /data.
After restart enable magisk hide switches and reboot system.
Profit.
Reply it works or not.

infinity rom.
magisk v18 and also newer test canary builds.
but prety sure its an issue where you don't wait 3 minutes after rebooting before doing actions that require root.
and not sure to which extent you tried to make magisk work with various files and mods but maybe you should just factory wipe and try and get magisk working before anything else. also mayke sure busybox is installed. and dont forget that 3 minute rule after a reboot.

and not sure to which extent you tried to make magisk work with various files and mods but maybe you should just factory wipe and try and get magisk working before anything else. also mayke sure busybox is installed. and dont forget that 3 minute rule after a reboot.

Thanks im sure it maybe an magisk issue im running 17.3 because i kept losing root on v18. I acquire root with v4a but it freezes and then keeps telling me to reinstall driver after reboot. I will try the 3 minute rule though..thank you. You installed v4a directly thru magisk or flashed a different version?

I have tried everything for hours to get viper4android to work with no avail until now. Go to the xda download page and select the beta version. Boom. It works. I know you might have long forgot this or already figured it out but I had to share
old legacy magisk module has been working for months and months.

[Q] How to install XPosed in Galaxy S8 (Android 8.0 Oreo Stock ROM)

Hey, so I've tried to install it by the XPosed installer APP 3.1.5 and I got "error 1", then I uninstalled the APP and flashed the XPosed Magisk module, and my phone got stuck in a bootloop. Trying to solve it, I flashed the xposed uninstaller ZIP with TWRP and (thanks God) the phone turned on. But now I just don't know how to proceed. What should I do to install it correctly?
Device: SM-G950FD (Galaxy S8 Exynos) - Rooted with Magisk
OS: Android 8.0 Official Stock ROM

You need the wanam fix for your xposed to work.... Xposed has incompatibility on certain Samsung devices and the wanam fixes that issue unfortunately it hasn't been updated with the fix in a while theres a way around it however it's a little technical

I made it happen my experience there is no guide for this workaround and xposed will always break safety net.... However the beautiful thing about systemless xposed is that when you deactivate the module and reboot you Will be able to pass safety net and when you done with passing safety net you re-enable the module
