Hey guys here is Ambient display mod for Android one device recently upgraded to build LMY47O
Ambient display is a feature for your lock screen. It basically lights up your phone’s display whenever there’s a new notification or when you pick up your device. And to save battery while doing that, ambient display optimizes the screen color to fade to grey color only when it turns on, and then smartly turn the screen colorful as soon as you interact with the screen.
But because of hardware limetations it will not work when you pick up your device or get it out of your pocket...
but its really a cool and hidden feature of lollipop so you may like to try it
you can download it from attackments
How to use
Flash it from custom recovery
No need to wipe dalvik-cache it may waste your time but if you got stuck then wiping dalvik-cache will fix that
And its working perfect on my device if you got any error please report to me
And if you just want to give it try and want to revert back to stock( remove ambient display feature) then you can use cleaner zip for it.

No battery drainage problem is there
This mod basically just wakes your device up on some events e.g if any notification arrives
and then if you don't touch it then it'll quickly turn screen off in 2-3 seconds I'm personally using it and not observed any battery drainage yet .

its working bro.
But it has been set to delay 17ms so when you see after 1-2 second it'll quickly got turned off.

I guess its not working for me too. Using Symphony roar A50. btw, noticed it has a seperate built number while flashing the zip. r u sure this mod is for LMY470?
Its only because I'm somewhat lazy
I've made mod and packed it in zip of mod for build LBY29G that's why its showing that number

What you mean it is too slow? It is original xperia key board not made by me!
I just modified to install all devices, It has keypad vibratation and sound too. Check personalization guide, Sound and Vibration, select volume and vibration intensity.

I mean is lagy and vibrate option don't work, maybe is a random issue.

Configuration is ok, vibration is ON!!!!! But no function buddy....
Keyboard is very fast. Vibration and sound work perfectly. So does predictive text and swipe. Thanks for an excellent port.
Confirmed, vibrate works and fast. no lag at all. cheers

I tried this mod ONLY on XtreStoLite for G920F model.
If you wanna test this on other carriers using same rom, please BACKUP first.
If something goes wrong, just RESTORE!

Hi guys, I edited the "framework-res.apk" file of XtreStoLite ROM adding Ambient Display feature like on Nexus (Android 5.0+). Surely it works on G920F, tested personally, if you wanna try on other S6 just try yourself.
I followed this guide. Credits to him.
///INSTALL:
- Flash the zip "AmbientDisplay-vX.X"
- Reboot
///UNINSTALL:
- Flash the zip "framework_restore"
- Reboot
Simple as it looks.
///BUGS:
- Gyroscope and proximity sensor not working for ambient display
- Touchscreen not working when screen fades (have to press power or home button first)
- Screen wake animation doesn't work (no fade)
- On edge model night clock won't work
- Every 3 dot menu animation will present a sort of lag/no animation
- Not working properly with Samsung "Good Lock" UI
///DOWNLOAD:
Each version I provide will be compatible ONLY with the one I write (example: ambient v3.3 --> xtrestolite v3.3)

The screen fades but not works with gyroscope or proximity sensor, it just enables parts of code that Samsung deleted

Works great! battery life won't be probably affected too much if not at all. Finally something satisfying on xda
Hmm there should be a bug using this mod for only those who has Edge . Night clock won't work by flashing this

There are lots of versions of stock rom, lots of different firmwares and I can't download every single firmware for extracting, decompile and recompile framework. So I just limit this mod for XtreStoLite.
Obliviously you can try adding yourself following the guide I linked in OP.

In folder "KERNEL by msdx321" you can find Kernels.
DO NOT HURRY UP TO FLASH KERNEL mKernel-LOS-M-R1(R2).zip!
If do the CLEAN install with all WIPES of phone, then install ROM and Kernel mKernel-LOS-M-R1(R2), phone stops booting on animation logo;
If you flash ROM than give it boot it up, and after that flash Kernel, it will be ok, but after flashing this kernel DONT DO WIPE CACHE/DALVIK!!
How to install:
1) Flash TWRP (if you not have it already)
2) Wipe System, Dalvik ART/Cache, Data, Cache
3) flash ROM
4) Download and flash GAPPS (HERE GAPPS, choose ARM64 - 6.0 - recommended Nano or Pico)
5) Reboot to System
If you will find some bugs on Stock Camera, just install Snap Camera!(down below)
If your speaker will be cracking on incoming call, just do next:
Settings - Notifications - App notifications - Phone - turn OFF Allow peeking.
If you will have battery drain by location wakelocks, try this(Need ROOT):
1) Install My Android Tools
2) Services - System - LocationServices
3) Turn OFF NetworkLocationService
No need to reboot!
All Location functionality will be okay!
And remember:
All you do it's on your own risk!

To not get encrypted Data, you need to do all wipes, flash ROM and after that without reboot in TWRP go to Advanced -> Disable Verify -> Confirm!

Has anyone installed this and not experience any location wakelocks?
I would like to use CM, but the last builds I tried gave only half the battery life of what I get on MIU (2 instead of 4 days), which was too much of a difference to me.

If you will have or already has battery drain by location wakelocks, just do next:
If you will have battery drain, try this(Need ROOT):
1) Install My Android Tools
2) Services - System - LocationServices
3) Turn OFF NetworkLocationService
No need to reboot!

I was wondering if there are also people that have location enabled without excessive drain.
I was thinking about giving a try, but does it support the fingerprint scanner?

Yes, fingerprint is working. From what i experienced, otg does not work.

No, after that all Location functionality will be okay!
And about location wakelocks I hear that they on Resurrection Remix, on this ROM no one notice about that on 4PDA.

Fingerprint and OTG works perfectly! For OTG just use ES Explorer or other File manager
It is so nice to see that the device also gets LineageOS community support. Looking really forward to it

Im using mi a1(oreo) flashed this module but couldn't find in settings>system..so downloaded quick shortcut maker..but it's not showing up im activities though..any solution please.

check in some other section in settings . in ambient display or gestures.
In the search option of setting i typed ambient display..also tried by typing doze but nothing showed up except my default ambient display which only lights up on notification. :crying:

system>priv-app
open ad gestures folder install app n reboot.

I have used this in Los 15.1.
Tried magisk module but not working tried pasting file in system>prive app not working and also flashed zip through recovery still not working.
