Where's the manual? - Moto G5S Plus Questions & Answers

I tried to get the manual before buying this phone, but couldn't. Oh well, I though, I'll get one in the box. But no - just a little booklet explaining all the battery wasting stuff like how it can turn the screen on when it moves or whatever.
Does anyone have a link to the pdf/page where the full manual is? The phone is pretty close to the g5 i guess but then so is the g5s and g5 plus; it would be nice to have definitive instructions.

I emailed Motorola, they said:
I would like to inform you that the user manual for Moto g5s plus has not been published on our website. However it will be updated soon. I suggest you to keep checking the website regularly.

Please anyone with any info on the US version of the S730??????

I have been looking and waiting for months and months, searched a lot so I apologize if I missed it somewhere.......
Is this going to be officially released in a US version
this is/was pretty much exactly what I was looking for......but don't know if it is ever going to happen.
Thanks.
It is supposed to be coming, although I have not checked in a while as I am wanting the Touch Pro now O_O
Anywho its called the HTC Wings 200, quickly looking for some links for you shows not much of an update, I thought it was due out later this year but I am not positive, there is some info on it here. Specs look exactly the same except theres two more UMTS bands for somewhat better US support.
There's another few sites online that have that same spec sheet but not a lot of info. There's a few threads floating around this site discussing some information on it but they have not been updated in a while.

Interesting stuff. Looks great in the specs, relese date Feb. 2008 is what I've seen elsewhere also. I guess we need more info on when/if this may happen for real.
The touch pro is a Pocket PC right, I'm liking the smartphone idea a little bit. I'm running a Tilt now tricked out and it's pretty good, but this S730/Wings 200 has had my eye for a long time, simplicity and everything in one.
The tilt suffers from the Pocket PC os issues as all other Windows Mobile touch screen devices.
Thanks for the reply, I hope someone knows or can point us to a bit more.
I guess this is just a dead issue. Bummer, I was really looking forward to this phone.
It's a shame, the smartphone in this form by HTC would be very cool.
At this point I wouldnt hold out much hope for it, although the s740 could make it over...

UPDATE (14th June 2011):
We are now over the 10,000 mark.
I have now spoken with Motorola and gotten confirmation that Motorola plan to unlock every device that will get an update in the second half of this year. This will include maintenance & firmware updates, but is still subject to Carrier approval.
The promising sign is that Verizon has already allowed Motorola to unlock a device on their network, the Xoom, which utilizes the unlockable/re-lockable model that Motorola intends on using across their devices.
I'm still looking to work with Motorola in the coming months to help see if we can make this a smooth process for Motorola and the community.
You can read the article here:
http://ausdroid.net/2011/06/14/an-u...witter&utm_campaign=Feed:+ausdroid+(Ausdroid)
Please share this where you can and keep it alive. I will continue to work with Motorola to see if we can get this thing torn wide open.
UPDATE (26th April 2011):
We are now at ~8,700 mark.
Motorola has now responded to me, stating that they are looking at unlocking bootloaders across their devices late 2011.
The article for the story can be found here:
http://ausdroid.net/2011/04/26/the-little-aussie-taking-on-motorola-u-s/#more-8184
We're still seeking clarity around whether this will be for current devices or only future devices.
I couldn't have gotten this far without the support of everyone here. You guys and girls have been a huge support and help me turn this snowball into a wrecking ball.
Please share this where you can and keep it alive. I will continue to work with Motorola to see if we can get this thing torn wide open.
Previous Update (4th April 2011):
We are now at ~7600 mark.
We're starting to slow down from our initial boom, so I have now set up a Facebook page to see if we can wrangle in some supporters that don't use Twitter or XDA.
I will need your help getting this out there. So share the facebook page where you can.
I'm also looking to see if anyone is interested in helping me Moderate the page. Please PM if you are.
Original Post:
Hi All,
I have created a Groubal (online petition) to get a response from Motorola on it's bootloader policy.
>>This petition started for the Atrix, but I made sure that it was for Motorola's overall Bootloader Policy. I have reached 200 signatures in 2 weeks, but now believe it's time to expand this out of the Atrix space and into the larger Motorola Dev community.
Ok guys, we now have nearly 800 signatures, nearly 500 in one night alone.
Keep up the great work everyone, this wouldn't be going anywhere without your support.

It would be even better if we could get XDA to post it as an announcement across all the forums, but unfortunately I don't know any of the administrators well enough to do it.
If you want to champion that for us, that would be greatly appreciate. I'm starting to find myself spread to thin on this one.
Groubal has been attacked again!
Hello Irwin,
Yes indeed...Groubal was hacked once again. We have our technical team and our hosting enterprise working feverishly on this to remedy the problem.
Clearly your petition and all your supporters have touched off serious nerves; and your message has created amazing awareness around the world now.
We will fix the problem and move forward. Please take the time to let everyone know on all the forums what has happened to Groubal.
Thanks in advance,
Groubal Customer Care

Just sent this tip to Engadget.com
Please shed some light on the petition by the Android user community requesting that Motorola to unlock the bootloaders on their Droid phones. Smartphones are not just phones that can browse the web, they are mobile computing devices that can make phone calls.
We pay a large sum of money to own these mobile computing devices but we are not able to modify the operating system like any other personal computer that each of us own.

Thank you,

moto and other manufactures need to stop this!! if we buy a device...we have the right to do what we want with it...its our money!!!
Signed. I'm rocking a Thunderbolt right now, but I still play with my Droid X from time to time.

new member here. goal is to educate myself as much about moto x as possible.

greetings. hope to learn a lot and make a lot of new acquaintances here. i bought my moto x because it's American-made!!! that is my chosen lifestyle; 100% American-made. it is difficult but not impossible. been successful with it since 1980. i am not a geek or techy or nerd or any kind of expert with electronics, hence my joining this forum; to learn as much as possible. i will be happy to contribute anything i can when asked. now my phone problem; it's bricked!!
first logo screen appears, then goes black when starting the second screen. open the recovery menu and boot-up always fails. i can't get to any controls. the only thing that stays on is the bar codes screen. and it won't go into safe mode. i would like to just send this phone to someone and pay them to fix it. i have two more developer edition moto x phones; one used and one new, and i'm now afraid to touch anything on them. at least until i learn what i'm supposed to do. so thanks for having me and have a great day.....dave

Hi Dave,
Thanks for joining XDA!. I will recommend you to do a thorough search, most of the problems and specially the one you point out have been asked before.
All the best and I hope you have the best journey here on XDA.
Good luck unbricking your device.
Closing this thread.

why its happened only with moto

Ok so now moto delete the patch note information from there own site. And now there is only one thing the document has been removed, document not found or the link has been expired.what it means. I don't know when the oreo will come to moto . But moto have to do something about the g series update issue if some one have any good news please tell us about that.

Regarding root access and devs please

Do we have any active developers currently looking into this device or looking to attempt rooting this one or is that currently a dead scene, thanks to everyone here.
I might possibly pick the v40 soon if not today.

Little screenshots for everyone
This will come soon enough. Except for Nexus/Pixel phones and the like, it takes some amount of time for development to really take hold. The hold-up for the V40 is that LG has not made the bootloader able to be unlocked. If I had to guess, it will probably take a couple of months. IIRC, that is approximately how long it took for the G7 to be made unlockable. After that, expect another month or two before developers start getting much stuff out there.
For me, at least, the phone is good enough out of the box that it will probably take about that long before I start getting bored with it. Luckily, it's far less heavily themed than Samsung's Touchwiz, and there is a relatively small amount of bloatware that came on it!
