There's all sorts of knowledge in the thread

Anything you see for the J700T is compatible with the J700T1. The phones are exactly the same minus 4 apps inside the system.

Is this Nougat stock rom for the samsung J700T? And how do I root it?

I have a J700T with twrp and root. Is there a nougat ROM that I can download and flash via twrp?
I would rather not go back to stock, flash nougat, and then re-root.

I'm writing this up in case anyone else needs help.
1) Couldn't get the 7.1.1 download to work from sammobile. Ended up downloading the firmware from another source and flashing through Odin. Took a couple of minutes to reboot after the flash.
2) Wanted to get TWRP and Root back on the phone and followed these instructions.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-j7/j700t-development/recovery-galaxy-j7-sm-j700t-t1-t3560342
Now have twrp and root. Everything seems to be working fine.

4. flash dm-verify.zip through twrp
5. stuck on tmobile logo.

Once it's been on the screen saying t mobile for at least 10 mins, pull battery, boot to stock recovery, mount system, factory reset, reboot. There. Now u will hear t mobile jingle and it will reach set up wiz

I would recommend using the magisk modified Xposed installer from the magisk stable threads, and install Xposed via magisk. The other xposed doesn't work as well, it says some modules are installed and running, but actually not doing anything. Just a heads up

How strange for me the official xposed works better than the Magisk version, the Magisk version makes my phone restart when I try to rotate the screen.

Hi Everyone, I am Pushkar Dua just wanted to share a rooting guide for Nexus 5 Android 5.0.1
As many people Reported that Root has stopped working after the 5.0.1 Update or previous Binaries lead device to Boot Loop,
Please Download Latest Binaries That i am providing here: http://download.chainfire.eu/641/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.40.zip

Please Use TWRP Version 2.8.1.0 as people reported some problems in latest 2.8.2.0 version.
Downlaload TWRP 2.8.1.0
Please note: if you're having a problem with twrp 2.8.1.0 asking for password..
Please use twrp 2.0.4.5
just reboot to system and you will have root access..

Original Thread for SuperSU : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1538053 Root Nexus 5 Lollipop 5.0.1
Hey!
Thanks a lot. Really helped solve my problem!
No problem
This doesn't belong in Development.
Actually i am not sure where should this be.. I'd request modders to please move it to the correct board!
Thanks man!

Since you've probably lost your custom recovery upgrading to 5.0.1, you can grab the TWRP images for Nexus 5 here: http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/hammerhead
I believe you need to use 2.8.1.0 since 2.8.2.0 either doesn't work or is causing problems for many users.

How did you update from a rooted (with CF-Auto Root) 5.0 to 5.0.1 you just received the OTA and installed it without any problems ?
I like to know because i am on 5.0 stock just rooted with CF_Auto root.
So no more need for CF-Auto?
Just flashing SuperSU zip with TWRP is enough?
I flashed a Custom Rom Using TWRP which doesn't have any root permission...

Guys, i installed the 5.0.1 update by fastboot flashing system, boot and radio. I lost my custom recovery tho (CWR). I now tried to install TWRP, but after flashing the recovery image, the recovery still hasnt changed. Could i just flash CRW or should i use TWRP for this version?

This. I flash with it here since 4.4.4 and it did everything just fine. Not only it is an app to automatically root, but it gives very good hints, and provides lots of others features like installing Apks, getting a adb prompt, and so much more. Greatest third party Android app I have tried. Highly recommended, didn't even had to wait they update it for 5.0.1, as soon I got the 5.0.1 OTA notification, Nexus Root Toolkit was already ready for it.

This is lollipop security, custom recover wouldn't stick, after each reboot it will replaced with stock one, of course there is a way to make it sticky just search the forum.

How can I install Xposed framework without TWRP?

I have tried via Flashify but cannot get it to work. I'm used to doing everything via TWRP but I know it is not an option at this time.
Any thoughts? How to install Xposed without TWRP? Currently on rooted ZV6.

Got it working!
I was able to get it done via Flashfire. A bit difficult to find the app initially, but WORKS like a CHARM! Rooted with Xposed, fully working and tweaked to the gills.
I don't know if it is against the rules to post the Flashfire link.

Follow the instructions on this thread:

In addition you can download v79 instead of v74 as the instructions suggest and it will work fine.

Upgrading without un-rooting OP3T

I am upgrading my OP3T from 5.0.1 to 5.0.3. My device is rooted using magisk and I have TWRP installed.
The system updates says -
"Root is detected, system will begin dowloading the full package. Your device will be un-rooted once the upgrade is completed."
Now my questions are
1. How to install the upgrade (5.0.3) without unrooting it ?
2. As it says it'll un-root my device, does it also mean it'll wipe my data as well ?
EDIT - I read about Dirty flashing the version I want but I can't find 5.0.3 image on Oneplus website.

1. You can't.
2. No, but you can re-root it using TWRP (which will need to be reflashed via fastboot).

Re-flashing magisk via TWRP will keep my data ?
It's the same as with all previous updates.
Go to TWRP, flash the whole rom,.don't exit,.flash latest Magisk,.done.
Everything will be as before, with the new system installed

After I upgrade (and it becomes unrooted). I immediately flash magisk via TWRP ?
I didn't get the part "flash the whole rom and don't exit" ?
Also, Will I lose any data in the process ?

Nothing will be lost even if you don't flash Magisk, so yes.
And Rastaviper meant that when you flash the update via TWRP, you don't reboot, but right after flashing the ROM you flash Magisk and then reboot, this way you will stay rooted.

So no need to fastboot flash recovery?
Correct me if I'm wrong, so you dl the zip, you flash it, you then flash magisk zip? Then what? You boot up and install twrp manager in order to change recovery?

That only happens if you reboot the phone while on the stock boot image. If you use a patched boot image, or a custom kernel, or Magisk, then the stock recovery doesn't overwrite the current recovery.

Strange situation

I have an Mate 10 AL-L29. 4 days ago l tried to rebrand it to chinese model android 8.1, firmware 321. After rebrand l saw my emei is 0000000000. l did it some days ago and all was fine! Now if l make downgrade to a old firmware, my imei is fine, but if l do an upgrade to a new firmware, it doesn't matter ALP-L29 or ALP-AL00, my imei is gone! Right now l'm on the newest android 8.1- 325 firmware. All works good.....root, phone, google play etc..
The only problem is my Imei 000000000 , but MEID is ok.
Any solution guys? Thanks!

Do you mean the stock ramdisk.img of the software I'm in? If so, then I did that and checked Preserve AVB/DM-Verity in Magisk, then flashed the patched ramdisk.img in fastboot. After rebooting, I opened Magisk but it says Magisk is not installed.
Also, after that didn't work, tried installing it from Magisk.zip but it only downloads but doesn't get installed.

If you already have root and needs to go back to stock rom - download the Stock Boot Image
I already downloaded the Firmware but how can i go back? Just by flashing the boot.img from the Stock Firmware ?.
Yeah, since you only modified the boot.img right?
So just flash the stock boot.img
But the boot.img must be from the same rom version your currently on.
Yes just patched the Boot.img in the past via magisk
Can i just normally Update the Firmware after getting back to Stock ?
Yeah should be fine.
Do i need to uninstall magisk or something else Like this before ?
You can do both if you want, since uninstalling magisk just restores your stock boot.img backup but i recommend using magisk uninstaller zip if you have it with you.
After using magisk uninstaller zip no need to install boot.img again.
So you can just flash that.
I dont have the magisk uninstaller ZIP :/
Okay.... What is your magisk version.
23.0 the newest one ( i dont have any custom Recovery installed )
