I've had my Kaiser a while now, and I love it to pieces. However...
When I open my SMS/MMS inbox, I see all my texts, but instead of showing the Name of the person who sent me a message, it shows there number (i.e +447870111111). This happens if I haven't pre-saved the contact to my phone (Even though the contacts were saved on my simcard). What's more, I thought copying all the contacts from my SIM to my phone would work, but no look. And now, I have 2 sets of all numbers! (one on SIM and one on Phone).
So My questions are:
Is there a way to have my SMS inbox show the contacts name, rather than number?
Is there a way to tell the Kaiser to hide my Sim Contacts, and just display my phone contacts.
I've searched and searched for these issues, but cannot find anything. I'm fairly technical so am usually good with these type of things. But any help would be appreciated.

for the second question, use kaiser-tweak ...
there's a option under [contacts] where you can disable sim-contacts.

Just to confirm I'm not a jinx, can somebody else who experiences this issu please post?

When you store a contact after receiving an SMS, the SMS database is not updated with the contact info and so the Inbox will show with the number alone! But after storing it once, the next SMS will be named with the Contact. This is how it happens in Windows Mobile or the way it handles the messages. The updating is not done in all SMS after a contact is stored as it would slow down the device.

Thanks for that Carty, now i know I'm not going insane!
It's a shame it has to be that way though... Standard mobile phones usually update themselves when you've saved the number as a contact. Ah well, I still have the best phone ever!

Experiencing The Same Problem
Try to include the country code and for sure you'll have the name appear. Problem will be, when that person is calling from the same country... Country code will be omited. So you wouldn't see the name of the person who's calling... and vise versa

Wow this thread's a blast from the past
TBH I've not noticed the problem again, which could mean one of two things:
1) The problem has now gone after Flashing a WM6.1 ROM, or
2) I haven't had any "New" people send me a text.

I haven't had an issue with numbers showing on an SMS instead of names (as I store my numbers as +447976123456, but I did have a REALLY annoying issue with SMS delivery reports having the number instead of the name.
This would have been fine if I sent one text every now and then , but as a heavy texter it drove me nuts - never knowing whos message had been delivered.
Just in case anyone else is having trouble with this - try the attached file - it lets you change the format of the report you get when your SMS is delivered!

is there any way to have sms auto delete when i get a certain amount. I had it on the Motorloa V3 and I've talked to customer where the blackberry does it.
I work for att customer service..please help me figure this out.

Are you talking about text messages or e-mails?

I own a tilt that I purchased at no-committment prices and paid full price on. I am trying to figure out how to have my SMS text messages so they will auto delete like they do on the Blackberry device to save memory.
Been lurking around awhile reading up but stuck on a couple of things. Im running
Cezar's Continuum SE and everything work except for..
1. my contact pic is not showing in my Texts(Contact are store on sim) Would storing all the contact on SD solve this? How do you copy all your contact? Where do i need to put into?
2. How do you store Multiple number on one Contact?

You need to either use google for your contacts or copy them from your sim to phone. Go into contacts, menu, more, import from sim....or something like that. Some of the contact apps have import selection right in the menu screen instead.

Is anyone else having issue trying to do group messaging from your contacts? Before I upgraded to the Nexus 6 from the Note 2, I would go into my contacts (or Messages) and Select a group contact Like "362nd Soldiers" or "Coworkers" and be able to send a message to that group of people without having to manually select each and every person. I also noticed in messages, when I click on attach it goes straight to my camera and does not allow me to select another contact to send info or perhaps a pdf or excel file or an email link. This is vital in all facets of my life, reserves and my civilian job. I do not want to have to download an app for such a basic function that was pretty much automatic in all other phones. Am I missing something on how to do these basic functions or do I just need to get a different phone?
I tried searching the forums but I get anything other that what I am searching for and I have to go back to the main page of the forum and search Nexus 6 and go back to the main forums each time as well. The search function here is horrible and forget trying just to go right back to where you were. So I apologize if this question has already been answered.

Today while trasferring data to another S6 edge, I noticed you could save messages. I saved one and went through the "My files" app to pull it up. It's an xml file and shows if your texts are read inside. Very neat. Can anyone develop a way for our phones to notify us or something when our texts are read? This is a lot of work to go through to find out so I don't plan on using it often but it's cool!
