Changelog
25 January 2018
ROM
* fixed in-call volume slider, mic/sound recorder (it's louder now) thanks to @gt_o. Read more here.
* updated audio configs to B382 and synced few audio props with stock ones
* show "HUAWEI NOVA" instead "Android" when phone is plugged to PC
* added two blobs to fix two errors in logcat
Kernel
* merged stock kernel source into the CAF one (tag LA.UM.5.6.r1-01300-89xx.0 as this one semeed to be the closest to stock, but also based on the Adreno log)
* got rid of many drivers from Huawei. You can see the commits here. Thanks to @gt_o, huawei's bootfail monitor (HWBFM) has also been removed. Although HWBFM was disabled till now, it was better to get rid of it, to get a cleaner kernel, but also being easier to merge the stock source into CAF.
* cpuset updates (also in ramdisk)
* added WireGuard support, thanks to @zx2c4. WEBSITE | XDA
* removed fsync/crc toggles as it's better to not mess with them

I think that with "flash ROOT", his intention was to say Magisk or SuperSU. As it is optional for the ROM to work, there is no need to link it =)
EDIT:
I'll download it now =)
I was to update LOS now, but I'll test this one firts =D
---------> I have an idea for what is causing problem with cam. Yesterday, I was trying to take a pic and they were green. Then, I touch the screen and it focused. After that, the pic was took normally. Maybe it has something to do with focus, not HDR? Just fyi, HDR was off =P

Hmm, I've experienced pics with green only when I've tried HDR. Perhaps you can take a logcat if it happens with HDR off?
To all:
In case you didn't write notes section in the first post: AEX team has stopped the development of Nougat version, so if there is a problem with one of the ROM features or something else, I won't do anything about that.

Yep, leave it to me. As soon as I test it, I'll upload a logcat

I didn't take a log yet, but I tried snapdragon camera and open camera for taking photos.
Snapdragon camera seems a bit buggish, not working right some times. I'll clean flash again tomorrow and I will flash google camera to see if it works, but my guess here is that snapdragon camera might be a issue for now

Weren't you talking about the Snap camera on LOS in your previous post? That's what I've understood.
As for Snapdragon camera on AEX, I haven't used it at all, just took a pic. I can replace it with the Snap camera which is on LOS too.
I don't know why AEX team chose Via browser as default browser, but I don't really like it. I like it's design and features, but I don't like the fact that it's closed source and it's made by a Chinese developer(s) according to the developer address in Play Store (well, Yalp Store for me ), so I might replace it with something Open Source (maybe Jelly / Chromium / Lightning or something) in the next update.

About camera....
Ive took pics/vids with the one in rom and was ok but
ive been a long time Camera/Cinema FV5 user...the camera work well but, have to use compatibility mode in de Cinema's setiings to use it
if i dont use the compatibility mode,i have a black screen/no image

Reporting
Hi there! I'm back =)
Today, I tested some things and my report is below.
I'm having a pretty much bugfree experience here. I'll talk about audio, camera and kernel.
-------------- Audio ----------------------------
Altough I can confirm my voice recording is low, when I try to hear it using headphones, audio seems ok. I didn't experience low audio in call as others and I'm talking about both ROM (LOS and this one). But, when reproducing audio via speaker, I can confirm it is somewhat low when compared with EMUI. Again, when in headphones is ok, but something maybe wrong with speakers configs ( loudspeaker and incall speaker).
-------------- Camera ----------------------------
I tested camera and I can confirm that SnapCam (Snapdragon Camera) is buggish. The app, the problem seems not related to ROM or drivers. I think that, as we are using stock kernel, not CAF and SnapCam is a code aurora project, it might be related (I'm just guessing here). I'm saying this because, when I took pics using Open Camera and Google Camera (installed via stock gapps), I didn't have any green pic or distorted effect on it like I had when used SnapCam. And, as I already said in other post, it seems that has nothing to do with HDR, because I had green pics with HDR on and off (mostly when taking a pic with frontal camera - it also might be related to model. Mine is imx219_sunny, from Sony where main camera is ov12870_sunny, from OmniVision).
Below is four logcats that I took, which might help to find the error regarding SnapCam:
Aosp Extended with Google Camera
AospExtended with SnapCam
Emui Camera (It would be nice if it could be ported, but it can't =/ =/ =/)
LOS 14.1 with SnapCam
-------------- Kernel ----------------------------
What I want to say about kernel is that I restored EMUI backup that I have and tested some other apps to check frequency in real time. Well, it seems that EMUI is realy buggish when talking about checking kernel stats. None of the apps could do a really good job checking it, but Kernel Adiutor was the one that worked better. I did check real time frequency manually this time and all I can say is that the original stock kernel doesn't behave good. Even using my script that explicitly sets min freq to 652MHz and max freq to 2106MHz, the min and max freq kept changing (and I confirmed it checking manually, looking myself into the files). However there is just one thing that original stock kernel does right that ours need to improve: big cores doesn't work all the time.
My thoughts about is that we are using stock kernel, but is not really the stock. It was compiled using the stock resources that huawei released, sure. But I think that might be some differences between what they release and what they put inside stock ROM.
Apart from that, I'm not experiencing any issues. Even taking pics is ok now, because I'm using Google Camera to do the job. The ROM is great, lagfree, have great battery life and good features (that is the cause for me keep this ROM and not LOS, which is too "pure" for me - although is much better than EMUI).
PS: about the toogles/QS tiles, I found out that if I just touch the toogle, it jumps to my QS tiles.... I thought I needed to drag it all the way lol xDDDDD
EDIT:
I forgot to mention that equalizer isn't working =P if it is turned on, it FC sometimes and doesn't have any effect on audio that is playing. Audio FX in LOS works fine.

i agree with what Vimnom said...i may add that PIE launcher...i had to reset device to re start the phone...
major thing is really audio output...

Thank you for your in-depth feedback!
Audio
I'm currently making a LOS build with audio configs updated to N B382 and with more audio flags (in BoardConfig) taken from mido (redmi note 4) based on the source files (hardware/qcom/audio-caf) and properties (build.prop). Hopefully there'll be some improvements.
Camera
Well, I didn't have any green pic so far, (on LOS) just when I've tried HDR for the first time. I don't think it's related to the kernel.
EMUI camera can be ported, but it's not that easy. I've seen other Huawei having EMUI camera on cm13. I was thinking to try to port it someday, but as I've said, it's not easy and I doubt that it can be fully working, without any bug.
Kernel
I don't know, I've never noticed before that the min/max freq would change when I'm not changing it. The stock kernel is using CAF source as base as well, but it has Huawei changes (some of them really crap). Bringing the CAF kernel means easier updating and cleaner kernel (e.g. no root checker or other bs).
And yes, the kernel which they put in EMUI must be different. They're not updating the source code after every EMUI update. They've just published it once and that's it.
I'll take a look at the equalizer, but I might just replace it with LOS's one. I'll also replace the closed Via browser (made by a Chinese developer) with something Open Source.
I'll take a look at your logs tomorrow.
Once again, thank you for your in-depth feedback!

I deleted assert line in updater script and tried to flash again. It flashed successfully but when I wanted to reboot twrp said tht there is no system installed, do I want to reboot. I rebooted and bootloop happend. After restart it started to boot only to erecovery. For now I am back to stock but I realy want to flash this rom couse I hate emui. Please help.

This rom is absolutely amazing and is the best one so far ! Keep up the good work Henkate !!!!! :good::good:

Yes, but it's most likely you'll get into bootloop. Therefore, clean flash is always recommended.

Trying this one out on my old Vibrant. So far, performance is smooth and truly full featured when it comes to customization. I once had a little issue with the dialer where the End call button did not want to work, I then turned on Airplane Mode, and when I tried to turn it off, it didn't want to highlight the button although others worked just fine . I proceeded to clean both caches and so far that bug hasn't reappeared. Will keep testing.

Yes, clean flash (as in wiping all caches and partitions including /system) before flashing. Also nope, no mods or alternate kernels flashed. Oh yeah, and I found that the screen color/gamma settings do not stick after a reboot.

thanks for the info i'll look through the og thread that i ported from and see if i can find some answers/solutions for you.
update: sorry couldnt find a answer/solution for those 2 issues your having, i read the last 20 pages of the thread and nothing. this is a port though so some bugs will be present that are not in the I9000 version of C-rom.

Thanks. Don't worry, things like that happen, I just hope the first one I reported doesn't reappear since the phone's not with me for now and the person's only used to how Jelly Bean (and up) works.
Issue: Videos wouldn't play. Not YouTube, not another video app. Not over cellular data, not over Wi-Fi.
Solution: I found that by changing the kernel to the "v" version of Semaphore instead of the "sv" version solves this problem. Just a heads up.

yeah i was aware of that, its just that i like the performance of "sv" over the "v" version. if yall would prefer a different kernel with this rom just speak on it i' ll take it in to consideration. thanks for pointing that out though im sure some people will run in to that issue and not know what to do, now should be easier for them unless they dont bother reading any pages of the thread lol.

C-rom 5.7 in now up, added changes to channel log in op. enjoy folks! as usual report what ever bugs yall may find and i'll try my best to help out with what ever issues may arise.
C-rom 5.8 is up, op updated with changes so enjoy folks. removed semaphore 3.4.3 sv for 3.4.3v instead to resolve video streaming/playing.
5.9 is now up, let me know of any issues that yall may run into.
UPDATE:replace the mms.apk in 5.9 with a previous version or from any other 4.4.2 rom as it will lead to mms crashing after recieving a text, i just ran into this issue after running 5.9 for 3 days straight.
6.0 is now up! mms bug is still present in latest update when receiving a text will make the app crash so i swapped out the apk from 5.8 instead, it was the last release i know of that this problem didn't occur so i hope this helps resolve the issue. changes are in the op so enjoy yall and like usual report what ever issues yall may run into...
LMFAO spamming my own thread haha:laugh: on a serious note, 6.1 is now up updated channel log as well as op enjoy.

* OpenGapps are a complete mess(no offense to its dev) and they break stuff, so if you decide to flash them regardless of what I just said, then please don't leave comments in the thread complaining about it.
SuperSU
Latest TWRP (if you don't already have it installed)
==> The installation instructions are there. Click on "Primary (Recommended)" and you'll see the file there.
Kernel Adiutor Mod
Installation instructions:
Requirements: ROM, Gapps, SuperSU
*** If you start fresh:
1. Reboot into recovery
2. Go to the "Wipe", tap on "Advanced Wipe" and can check all the boxes except for the "Internal storage" one, then simply "Swipe to Wipe"
3. Flash the ROM
4. Flash the Gapps
5. Flash SuperSU
Then reboot to system and you're done.
*** If you're upgrading / "dirty flashing":
1. Reboot into recovery
2. Go to "Advanced Wipe" and check only "Dalvik cache" and "Cache", then "Swipe to Wipe".
3. Flash the ROM
4. Flash SuperSU
4. Do another Cache + Dalvik cache wipe (OPTIONAL)
Then reboot to system.
*** If you're using a custom kernel:
1. Flash the ROM (clean or dirty flash, depending on your choice)
1' flash the Gapps (only for clean ROM installations)
2. Flash your preferred custom kernel
3. THEN flash SuperSU
And reboot to system
*** Moving between custom kernels:
* After flashing the first custom kernel, if you decide to try another one, you MUST either:
>> dirty flash the ROM before changing the kernel. OR
>> extract the "boot.img" file found inside the "...ROM...zip" and flash it in recovery.
>> Then will you be able to safely move to a different kernel.
You also must flash SuperSU AFTER the kernel, otherwise you'll lose the root previleges.

Mako exclusive changelog:
--> 17. june. 2017:
* updated to the latest June sources: android_7.1.2_r17
* everything new is the same as what the official PN builds include so check the official changelog for that.
Changelog for older builds
--> 14. may. 2017:
* updated to the latest May sources: android_7.1.2_r8
* Fix nav bar showing always on the left when the device is rotated to 270 degrees
--> Also, fix the order of the buttons so the back button always shows
on the bottom <--
* Prebuilt apps: - sort out and include: Google Dialer, Gboard and Contacts as default (fully functional now)
--> 30. april. 2017:
* Bump up to 7.1.2_r6
* Hide the "No notifications" text in the notification panel
--> When there aren't any notifications to display in the notification panel, a text saying "No notifications" appears there. The thing is, when the notification panel is empty, we already know it's because we didn't receive any notifications, so there's no need for an annoying text to tell us what we already know.
* Added 3 new Google apps: Contacts, Dialer and Messages.
--> 17. feb. 2017:
Restructure no.2
- kernel cleanup
- device tree cleanup
- "battery saver" on-off sequence that made the phone reboot ---> fixed
- battery led fixed and tweaked a bit
- battery "charging slowly" status on the lockscreen ---> fixed
- the automatic brightness for "night light" has been removed because it wasn't working
- other small visual fixes that are not yet present in the official PN builds
--> 1. feb. 2017:
- Complete restructure (but the base is the same, obviously)
- Added some apps:
*--> Camera
*--> Gallery
*--> Clock (deskclock)
- System performance improvements
- Kernel compiled with ubertc 5.4.1 cause 6.x was causing issues.
- Added back "Mpdecision" cause now there are improvements done to have it work nicely and I set it as the default "hotplug" (the standby time is fantastic with it)
- "Smartmax" gone, cause it caused system shutdowns when the phone entered deepsleep mode.
- Other kernel tweaks and improvements which give you a nice experience.
- CAMERA FIXED (Yaaay !!!)
The new restructuring thingy broke the thing that was fixed in the previous build, and that's the native "screen recording" feature.
* Use "Screen Recorder - Free No Ads" by Kimcy929, from the PlayStore and you'll have no issue.
--> 7. jan. 2017:
- Enable "NIght light" (which is fantastic when you're tired and your eyes hurt)
- Add "double-tap-to-sleep on the navbar" (couldn't wait for Nate to add it, so I added it myself)
- Native "Screen record" fixed thanks to our beloved @spezi77 (you can add an option to the Power menu for fast access)
- Maximum fling velocity reduced (there's too much stuff that has to be loaded on the screen with a single swipe, and the CPU is struggling to do that. Fewer things to load when swiping means lower impact on the CPU and a better UX fluidity)
- "Lights with screen on" feature removed (I don't see its purpose so I remove it)
- "Font size" and "Display size" removed from Settings/Accessibility as they're already in "Display" (so bye bye duplicate ! thanks to KreAch3R)
- device tree cleaned up a bit
- kernel compiled with UberTC6.x (gcc 6.1.1)
- some other kernel tweaks and improvements
* Camera WIP
* I pinpointed the led erratic behaviour source. It's caused by the "battery light" (which I didn't remove, for the time being). Turn it off if the rainbow-led-colours bother you.
--> 16. dec. 2016:
- Remove "force expanded notifications" and "smart pulldown" (because they were causing too much stutter in the notification panel)
- Remove power connect/disconnect notification support
- Disable safe headset volume
- Reduce the delay during headset removal
- Add support to manually pause/resume download
- Add download speed, remaining time, and percentage in notification
- Set "interactive" as default governor
- Tune TCP performance (based on CAF values
- Enforcing the minimum delay between notification sounds of an app
- Disable ADB authentication
Next build: -camera fix and other stuff.
NOTE:
* "Revival kernel" is now the default kernel for this ROM cause it offers a decent amount of features without the need of flashing a different kernel. Those who don't feel like doing much tweaking can simply use it as is.
* The stock values in Revival have been set to offer a balance between performance and battery life and this aspect is even more favoured by the fact that it's been compiled with UBERTC-5.4.
* The kernel behaves exactly like all the other stock kernels when it comes to moving between custom kernels. That means you can flash whichever custom kernel you prefer without any problems.
* If you're not satisfied with "Revival", you can easily flash a different kernel. Everyone has a choice.
It's recommended to use Kernel Adiutor Mod for tweaking. You can find it in the Downloads & Changelog" section in the first post.
Quick fix for "ADB - unauthorized":
First of all, you have to make the hidden folders show up (in Windows) by > checking < an option called "Show hidden items".
* In Windows 10 you can activate it like this: Go into a folder (randomly, cause it doesn't matter which one it is). and at the top of the window, search for the "View" tab and click on it. From there, on the right side, check the "Hidden files" option. This applies on a system level so that's why it doesn't matter in which folder you are when you activate it. In other Windows versions, this feature is activated differently, so Google it. On Ubuntu/Linux, right-click on a blank space inside a folder and you'll see there a "Show hidden files" option.
Now, let's get to business:
1. On you computer, navigate to C:\Users"your username"\.android (on Windows) or /Home/.android (on Ubuntu/Linux)
You'll see there 2 files, "adbkey" and adbkey.pub
2. Connect the phone to the computer (make sure you have "USB debugging" activated so you don't have to worry about it later)
3. Copy the "adbkey.pub" file to your phone. Put it in /sdcard/emulated/0 (which is the main sdcard directory, where you see all the main folders like "Pictures, "Music", etc)
4. Disconnect the phone from the computer.
5. Now on your phone, using a terminal app (I prefer "Material terminal" from the Play Store) execute these commands:
- su
- cd /storage/emulated/0
- cat adbkey.pub >> /data/misc/adb/adb_keys
Now "adb_keys" has been created in the location mentioned at the next step.
6. Using a file manager app (eg. Solid Explorer) navigate to /data/misc/adb.
7. Give permissions 666 to the "adb_keys" file (giving permissions differs from a file manager to another)
8. Connect the phone to the computer, run adb devices in the computer terminal and you'll see that adb finally works.
Some differences between Marshmallow and Nougat:
The difference is not that big but the are a few changes.
There's the new visual improvements, like the new notification panel, the way the Settings look or the "Recents panel". When it comes to actual performance, "dose" has been improved and it now works not only when the device is sitting on your table for a long period of time. Also, there's no more "app optimisation" process at boot up, after you wipe the cache partition or clean install a ROM, and that makes things considerably faster, a breeze compared to the previous version of Android. And not to forget, Nougat has a new compiler and you'll see that the apps install a little bit faster. Some apps that used to install in over a minute, now do it in half the time.
From Google developers' page:
*****> In Android 7.0, we've added a Just in Time (JIT) compiler with code profiling to ART, which lets it constantly improve the performance of Android apps as they run. The JIT compiler complements ART's current Ahead of Time (AOT) compiler and helps improve runtime performance, save storage space, and speed up app updates and system updates <*****

I agree, our Nexus ? is gonna live for a looong time. Btw @spezy77 I was using your HellSpawn with PN for some time and then switched to Revival (clean flashed&wiped everything) as I wanted less tweaks and better stability.
But 3 days ago I had a few reboots and the phone lags too often with no apparent reason, I'm going to clean flash dragos' ROM in these days and will try Revival again hoping that it was a PN problem, or a -75uV issue. If the reboot happens again I'll try to save some logs as soon as the phone boots again and post them in your thread. :good:
Random reboots and lag in general are concerned with the kernel used and not the ROM, right? So I will not post here for these problems.
Thank you @spezy77 and @dragos281993 again!

Revival is the stock kernel for PN from now on as it offers great features and stability from the start. I'm still editing this thread so I'll add info regarding that matter. Clean flash the build and use it for a while as is, or try it without UV. Revival will behave exactly like a stock kernel and you'll have to either dirty flash the ROM to flash the "boot.img" file found inside the ROM.zip, before trying a different custom kernel.

"WE" did it, my friend.
Just wondering, what version of revival is this rom running. Also great work and thanks for continuing development. People like you guys are the reason our outdated phone is still relevant.
Good job, hope you can still maintain this device

Thanks, buddy ! I definitely will. I'm gonna keep this phone for a little longer so I'll deliver PN for as long as I have it.
Thanks again for all your work. I hope we'll hear from you from time to time.

It's got the latest version, as shown in the kernel source. It's stable, offers decent battery life and it has a nice list of features for everyone to enjoy.

Quick question, does it need full wipe or dirty wipe if i have PureNexus r25 build ?
Thanks for the ROM . Question : Which camera application you suggest?

Try "Camera MX" or "Open Camera" as Pac-Man suggested. I personally prefer the first one cause it's got a few very nice features.

To God be the glory, my AOKP NOUGAT project finally works!
Greetings from Alaska! I looked around for AOKP 7.1.2 for my new to me T-Mobile H811, and I couldn't find one, so I built one instead. I have been developing roms for a while on the Samsung Galaxy S4, S5, and Note Edge, and thought I'd try a non-Samsung phone. My work is free for you to use, take, edit, and implement any way you see fit. I hope you enjoy using it as much as I enjoyed making it! Feel free to leave comments in this thread, I don't mind a little background chatter or friendly discussion!
This is not a dirty unicorn. This is the original unicorn, the AOKP. Now made out of Nougat! That's right, all of the AOKP stuff you love, plus LineageOS, plus a built in side bar, and more! All wrapped up into one! With tons of settings from status bar tweaks to button remaps, it's all here and ready to rumble!

**** This is an UNOFFICIAL ROM. Install at your own risk! ****
You must perform an oem unlock before using this rom!

-Which I personally tested Arm64 7.1 Pico.
The AKLU kernel:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-g4/development/kernel-nougat-kernels-t3622811
Be sure to follow these installation steps very carefully, as they may be different then what you are used to.
Installation instructions:
-Download ROM and gapps, and put them on your phone or external storage.
-Reboot into recovery mode - TWRP (I personally installed this using 2.8.7.0, but newer ones should work too!)
-Backup what you had. (Just to be safe.)
-Wipe. (I personally wipe everything prior to flashing new roms, but at least do the basic wipe.)
-Install Rom.
-Install Gapps. - Optional
-Reboot to system and enjoy!
-- Or, after rebooting to system, go back to TWRP and install the AKLU kernel!
I do not recommend installing superSU on this ROM! SU permission is already built in, and superSU has been causing problems with the rom.
What works :
Code:
+ Phone calls/receiving
+ Data 2g/3g/LTE
+ Bluetooth
+ WiFi
+ MTP
+ Split screen
etc....
What doesn't :
Code:
- I have not found any big errors, fault crashes, or problems yet. Please let me know if you find an issue! (There must be some!)
This AOKP N ROM was built for the H811, the T-Mobile LG G4. I have not tried this on any other device, but you are welcome to try it AT YOUR OWN RISK. You may need to edit the META-INF updater script to accomplish this. It MAY flash on H815 as is, as I added a line for that in the build. Please chime in if it worked on your device!

Notes:
Just a spot for some field notes about the ROM.
Background:
The awesome background was provided by The Quiet Learner, you can see more of his work here:
https://qlfiles.net/
You can also change the background using SWAGGER, to choose from several amazing AOKP backgrounds. Just long press the background as usual, and choose SWAGGER.
Multi-Window:
Open the app you want on top, then long press the recent button, then select the app you want on the bottom. Slide the slider up or down to choose full screen for the top or bottom app. Note: if in multi-window mode, pressing home goes to the home screen, but opening an app causes multi-window mode again with the last app you had open and the new app you chose.
OmniSwitcher:
You must enable OmniSwitcher to use it. There are choices for horizontal or vertical layouts, as well as the "handle" size and color. You can also enable the "menu" button, which may come in handy due to the long press of the recent button being used for multi-window.
excellent mate!
Few questions...
have you tried Llama Kernel for it?
Which theme engine works? (oms, legacy, etc...)

Great questions!
I have not tried the lama kernel, I always make my own, I am working on one now, but if you try it, please let me know how it goes.
As for themes, this is 100% substratum compliant.

Another quick question.. How do you get Magisk to work on this ROM? I have tried various methods. Root works fine, but Safetynet has issues.

So...
Just so you are aware, safetynet does not pass with completely stock KDZ ok?
Secondly, even Magisk will not pass safetynet as of yet, he states it's getting worked on tho
https://www.xda-developers.com/magisk-developer-assures-next-magisk-beta-will-pass-safetynet-again/
Thirdly, the OP shows you that SU is built-in, so you woould need to figure out a way to remove it from the ROM (and probably kernel) first, once you do that, you can probably go and install Magisk.
Hope this helps mate, and good luck.

Praise God! The AKLU kernel is up, but it's just getting started. New Governors in the AKLU kernel:

giving this a test drive with your kernel, so far so very good liking this much more than slim, many more settings and things to play around with. using open camera, so far not missing stock camera too much but im sure i will eventually, its the reason i got the G4 in the first place, but this is some good stuff, thanks so much for the builds, keep them coming!!

Yes AOKP is very feature rich, sort of the antithesis (if that is the right word) of SlimRoms. However it is a bit heavier (space wise), and uses a few more resources. But the G4 seems quite capable at handling it.
These two are very different schools of thought....
AOKP:
Provide every thing you need, and make everything customizable. Don't try to hide root, and offer every amenity. Want for nothing!
SlimRoms:
Give them the very basics, offer a few core features and let them build their app base with the things they truly want. Simplicity at it's finest. Speed through lightness!
I think both have a place. Just like ice cream, everybody likes their favorite flavor. In glad you like the rom!

Usraek,
Thanks for the kind words! I can't take all of the credit though, the AOKP team did all the hard work! Not to mention the dozen or so that worked on device trees and vendor blobs, to which I only edited and slightly modified for this purpose.
Thanks for the heads up on the 5ghz WiFi. I am downloading some source right now and plan to release an update with June's security patches. When I do, I will test the WiFi.
It is working great on my slim ROMs build, so I will have to review it thoroughly if it doesn't work on AOKP.

Well, I can still give you credit for bringing these ROMs here! I just got my H811 that is flashable yesterday, after my H812 that was bootloader locked up and bootlooped. So I'll be honest, the 5ghz *may* work, I'm almost certain it doesn't, but I've flashed like a dozen ROMs to try today so I may have got something mixed up... lol
Cheers

No problem! But it may still be an issue. Perhaps a channel problem? As you know there is channel 1 through 11, perhaps not all channels are working?

Praise God! Another update!
There is a new download in the OP! Just a sync with AOKP for security patches through June! There is also a new web browser that you can try!
Just an FYI, I have changed the download link to a folder containing the rom(s), its just a little easier, so after an upload I do not have to update the links, as the folder will not change, just the rom in it.
I did test the WiFi, and the 5ghz is working great here.
Enjoy and Happy Independence Day and weekend to my fellow Americans!

I forgot to mention that I also changed the boot animation to the old "lightning" AOKP boot animation.
If you want the new "pony-gear" animation, you can grab it here in the "Official AOKP" folder:
https://www.mediafire.com/folder/o172vzm25q6n3/bootanimations
Or you can poke around the other animations and use any of those if you like them. Checkmate was one of my favorites, although I made these a while back for older phones, so they may be a little "fast" and/or "small" on your phone now.
thank you so much for this rom dev! I cannot live without fling and omniswitch and have been on DU since their last update. it's worlds better than what i was running before. i cannot express how thankful I am for this rom!
can I ask for a couple of feature requests? would be awesome to have the option for some app shortcuts on the lockscreen and the ability to customize the bottom left and right unlock-to-apps. I can totally live without them but just want a little more icing on the cake. to me, those two features are the only thing from a perfect rom for me.

To God be the glory, my Slim7 Nougat project finally works on the LG G4!
This is a very slimmed down version of Android Nougat, almost a "vanilla" experience with a few tasteful perks! By design, this ROM comes without root for those who wish to have a "pure" version without the entanglements that come with root, but it can also be easily rooted by using chainfire's SuperSU (see below for instructions and downloads). In it's default form, it is perfect for those banking apps, workplaces, and games that require you to have a phone without root. No need for tricks or hacks, all while having the latest and greatest Android on your phone.
Also, this unrooted ROM is great if you use a special SU, like a custom SuperSU, Magisk, etc. I don't support those directly, but in this ROM, you don't have to remove root so you can add those. DO SO AT YOUR OWN RISK!
**** This is an UNOFFICIAL ROM. Install at your own risk! ****
This SlimRoms Nougat ROM was built for the H811 LG G4 T-Mobile variant using modified LineageOS trees. I have not tried this on any other device, but you are welcome to try it AT YOUR OWN RISK. The updater script may need to be edited. I did add a line for the H815, so that may work. Chime in if it worked on your device.
A huge thanks to the SlimRoms Project team!

Thanks. The Substratum theme engine works if you root the ROM.
Edit:
Bummer, the Substratum is broken in this build. I'll try to get that going again....
Make sure you set your default ringtone and notification sound. I forgot to give it a default. You only have to choose a ring tone and notification sound once.

It looks like there are a lot of good ROMs in the LG G4 section for H815/H811, I don't want to build "over" what people already have going. That being said, I am open to suggestion, but can't promise anything. Do you have a ROM request?

Thanks guys! Kind words are always welcome!
I have started work on the AKLU kernel:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-g4/development/kernel-nougat-kernels-t3622811
It is very basic right now, but I plan to add more as time goes on. No promises, but my other AKLU kernels typically feature: More governors, more i/o schedulers, FauxSound, voltage control (so you can set your own voltage, under or over), and light overclocking of the CPU and GPU. So be sure to check it out, and take a look as time goes on and I (hopefully) add more features!
cool, something new to try!! thanks for this!! i miss building slim when i had my nexus 5

thank you .. this means more things to try. and this also helps G4 as it looks like its getting dead.. in development. thank you for your time.. and sharing.. no request right now later..
An oddity that I've noticed on this and other Slim nougat ROMs:
Sometimes, when you use wave 2 wake, or press the power button to turn on the screen, the screen does not appear to come on. In reality it does, but the backlighting is not on, so the screen is too dark to see.
This is rare, but when it happens, I push the power button to turn off the screen, then push again to turn on, in which the screen is bright again.
I'll try to look at the settings to see where the disconnect is.

So far so good. Love me some Slim. Odd thing though, the nav buttons have a double tap feel to them like you actually tap it twice, lime a double feedback. Has anyone else notices that? Typing and other taps do not have that, just on the nav buttons

That is true, the nav bar does have a higher vibration / feedback setting than the keyboard. This is the default. I think the idea is to make you aware that you pressed the nav bar and not the keyboard.
Sometimes, while using the keyboard (I swipe to type on the default keyboard) I will get an odd double feedback vibration buzz that is stronger than normal. Have any of you had that?

I had no issues with TB. It worked fine out of the box. Just figured that all that was set by default

Yes, currently USB debugging is on by default. You could turn it off of you are rooted by editing your build prop.
On:
persist.service.adb.enable=1 persist.service.debuggable=1 persist.sys.usb.config=mtp,adb
Off:
persist.service.adb.enable=0 persist.service.debuggable=0 persist.sys.usb.config=mtp
And rebooting the phone. Hopefully I'll get that fixed, and you can turn it on and of the normal way. I just have not had time to look at it yet.

NOTES
1. I'm pretty sure that AEX team is no longer updating the security patch, but probably other guys will do it and submit the changes to them. Don't expect me to update the security patch because i won't. I would do that only for AOSP or LineageOS.
2. Don't report issues related to ROM's features. I'm not gonna fix that.
3. Auto brightness option seems to be missing or i didn't find it. I already have the config in overlay which says that auto brightness is supported and it works on LineageOS (and worked on AEX nougat too. I've took a look at 2-3 device trees from their github, but i didn't find other overlay (or maybe i was blind? lol). I'll look more someday, but it's definitely not my priority since auto brightness is fucking up most of the times anyway.

Known issues (same as LineageOS 15):
selinux is permissive
some saturation issue in camera while it is focusing (it was present on lineage 14 too)
Requirements
Huawei Nova CAN-L11 (should work on the other models too)
Unlocked bootloader ( here's a guide about how to unlock it). If you don't have the unlock key, then you no longer can unlock it. You gotta thank Huawei for not allowing unlocked bootloader anymore.
TWRP for Oreo.
Make sure you've updated to EMUI 5 first. I don't mean that you need to be on EMUI 5 now, but that you've updated to EMUI 5 before. I don't know if it works if you were on EMUI 4.

Installation
Make sure you meet the requirements listed above.
Download the ROM and put it on sdcard. If you want GAPPS too, then download MindTheGapps (mirror or Open Gapps too (choose arm64, 8.1 and pico or other variant if you want more gapps).
Reboot in TWRP by pressing all 3 buttons (Volume UP + Volume Down + Power).
Wipe system, data, cache and dalvik-cache.
Flash the ROM from the directory where you've placed it.
Flash lineage's root addon / GAPPS (OPTIONALLY).
Reboot.

Thanks for this! Running nicely so far.
Also guys, don't try to dirty flash over LOS15.1, you will run into a lot of issues. I tried because I am lazy but had to do a clean install anyways.
Exelent work #Henkate! I love Substratum so mutch!
Two problems:
1. Screen brightnes is not working, nieder screen color calibration. Screen is allways on high brightnes.
2. How to activate Root? I flasht lineage's root addon but is not working. How to root?
I did a clean flash.
Thak You so mutch for your work.

1. Screen brightness seemed fine to me, besides the missing auto brightness option which I've mentioned at notes in the first post.
2. You can root with phh Superuser, Magisk. Lineage's root is meant only for lineage. I'm sorry, but I didn't know that root is not included, otherwise I would've mentioned this as well.
Hentake, when you will upgrade the ROM to fix the audio error on the headphones that is not working. I really like the AOSP Extended ROM

First of all, it's Henkate, not Hentake. You can also just call me Robert, which is my real name xD.
LineageOS is the main ROM I'm working on and I'm firstly fixing the issues in the device sources, so then the fixes are included in AEX and then I can take a look at the headphones issue.
I've searched a bit through AEX's telegram and it seems that the headphones detection issue was / is present on other phones too, which makes me think that it can be an issue in AEX's sources.
As promised, I'll take a look at the log which @hscnhs shared, but if I find out that's a problem in AEX's sources, then I may not fix that because I've lost the interest in AEX before I've built it and I've built and published it only because I've promised that.
I'm sorry to have misused your username. I am grateful that you created the AEX ROM, I always liked it, it would be a great pity if you stopped working on this ROM. Thanks, I'll be waiting for our update to fix this big one. Cya Robert.

All good work
On some devices, the sound from the speaker does not work. The solution is:
1. Install the firmware via TWRP
2. Install this file via TWRP ( https://www.mediafire.com/file/aoprwc1b7avxw36/Patch.zip/file )
