You're right... I just bought it yesterday and GPS Satellites Viewer doesn't find any. Can you confirm if you are running Nougat as well if yes maybe it will be available on Oreo

Numbers 64 and above (the three satellites on the right) are GLONASS.

Why exactly is GLONASS good for? I googled it a bit, and seemed to be the Russian version of a GPS. Does this pretty much just mean that there are more satellites up there that our phone can connect to/ better GPS reception?

While this may be true in terms of hardware, rarely is it activated within the software which is why everyone was questioning it.

Yeah, better signal, faster position pickup, general redundancy.

Nexus 6 WiFi calling - EE UK

So, just been reading this:
http://phandroid.com/2015/05/22/off...android-5-1-1-with-wifi-calling-this-weekend/
Being on EE in the UK, who have just launched WiFi calling, I'm particularly interested in the above article and would love to see it on my device.
However, I'm just wondering what it would take to get it on my device and what the requirements are. Would be so handy.
Could I install the above 5.1.1 T Mobile version and simply change my APN?

Unlikely. I don't think the EE wifi will be the same as T-MO USA, even though EE is 50% T-MO UK.
Already have it. Side loaded it. Signed ota zips are available for download on the internet

That doesn't really help the OP. He was hoping the t-mobile wifi calling app would help him wifi call on a different provider.
Yes, I'd be interested to know this as well. It would also be nice to know if the new O2 HD Voice ( http://community.o2.co.uk/t5/Welcome-News/HD-Voice-is-rolling-out-on-O2/td-p/879709 ) is working with LYZ28E. Not sure what network @toString is on.
yeah It would be cool if this could be used with sprints wifi calling.. but I doubt that's possible

Me? I didn't even post in the thread!

imported xt894 to new zealand

i am unable to find safestrap.
neither of the mirror links in the many threads i have found function.
i used root genius to root it because of this.
i'm really looking forward to lollipop and a mugen battery.
to be clear i am indeed able to use my phone in the intended geographic area, 800kbit/200kbit mobile data seems sufficient for facebook and google maps on the go.
now ive seen various mentions of patches being needed for umts/gms support, is this not unusual?
the network i use here in new zealand supports umts 850 and 2100.
please help me make the most of the most versatile android phone in existence.

My provider tells me to use wcdma. I am confused, its still utms850/2100 3g.
It works really well, I get 800/200kbit and 20-24mbit over wifi

Question [CLOSED]Hardware test

Does anyone know how to access the hardware test? On some previous models you used the calculator and entered 12345+=, but this doesn't work on my Zenphone 8.

Yes, another member of the board (@jfgt7j8qgx ) pointed this out in another thread You almost had it right, but you forgot a dot before the 1. So the combination is .12345+=
Thanks! I can now access the hardware test.
To test the rear cameras a picture has to be taken of a specific QR Code. Any idea where this is available?

I was wondering the same thing but could not find anything except for an instruction for a hardware test for an Asus notebook, where a QR code was provided as a link to the support team (I think).
Source is in German, though:

Is it possible to access the hardware tests if using another ROM (AospExtended for example)?
Update 25.06.2022 /bs
see here how to get the Hardware Test App running on other ROMs
