Guy flip flops to much. It's pretty clear he goes with whoever gives him the most free stuff. Typical YouTube reviewer. The pixel 2xl is his favorite lol. That's the worst phone of 2017 that screen is absolutely horrible. Worse then the display that was on the Galaxy Nexus.
The only thing you can trust for his reviews are how the phone's feel in your hand. And he even says whatever phone is in his hand is his favorite. Well damn no one would admit the phone they are using is crap.

It seems pretty obvious you don't like him. So can you give one specific example where he says he gave a favorable review because he was given something free? Or an example that gives evidence to what you are saying? Video links with time stamp please. He says pretty often that the opposite is true. Are you saying he is a liar?

Flossy's review are pretty spot on. Surprised the OnePlus 5T is so low on the scale.
The Z2 force is a VERY nice device, especially at $375 (and coupled with the free projector!!). At the price it's #1 in 2017 imo, but that's not the original MSRP.
It's not better than a Note 8, or the iPhone X, or the V30 at release price. Not sure it's better than the 5T ( toss up I'm)
I truly appreciate the flat screen, microsd card, slim body frame and slight weight in hand, super fast Oreo update and stock Android/unlocked bootloader. The bad is that the speaker/audio department is pretty poor, the plastic screen overlay sucks, and the camera is just average and I would have appreciated a bezel less panel at 5.7-6", like the essential ph-1.

Was kinda of surprised at the number 5 spot, but he likes phones with no lag..
..and for the price now I think it's pound for pound one of the best.

had to make a tough decision

I was very excited to buy the Nexus 4, and I think not being in the first couple of groups that managed to order the phone turned out to be a good thing. Honestly, the user feedback on this forum and elsewhere has pushed me away, especially after seeing and hearing about he back glass cracking on more than 5 occasions. Actually, 2 such incidents would be one too many. And no, I don't expect this to be solved in any future batches...
This is sad, because I am a true fan of the nexus line and stock android, and I was looking forward to 4.2, as well as always receiving the latest updates.
Well, that ship has sailed, and for now, I've gone and bought the One X+, so let's see how much I'm gonna tolerate HTC sense. I saw it as the next best android alternative, and there's no way in hell I would get a non-android phone...
Maybe if LG and Google prove my theory wrong, I'll go for the nexus 4
Use a case, problem solved
I thought of using a case, but the phone is big enough, and I always keep my phone in my pocket. Plus, when I buy a phone, I'm picky and always like to have a physically attractive phone, so I like to show that off. Even those clear cases take away from the overall physical appeal. So, the one x+ seemed like the best choice there as well.
i dont understand the point of threads like this.... do you think that we care that you are jumping ship? are you expecting sympathy or something?
theres nothing wrong with picking X phone over Y phone... get whatever phone you feel comfortable with (One X, iphone, 1990 Motorola Startac) and enjoy it. no need to let the world know of your displeasure
haha, that's a funny little post norazi... this is the nexus 4 forum, and my post was nexus 4 related, so I thought I'd share my views in hopes that google does actually pay attention. I didn't "jump ship" as you say. I'm still supporting android to the fullest, so it's still in favor of google to some extent. I never had an LG phone, so again, no jumping anything here...
This is an open discussion on the nexus 4 forum about the nexus 4, and I'm interested in knowing if others feel the same way
it's best if you don't comment on what you don't understand (as you claimed in your post)
Good luck with the One X+. We need people like you to support other companies flagship phones too, that way the competition keeps manufacturer on their feed and we benefit from the low price. If you Google actually check this forum I hope they do find this post. Maybe they can learn something and fix any current mishaps and problems from happening in the future. As for me I think i'm one of the lucky ones with an N4 without a defect. It arrive with scratches on the plastics but the phone is perfectly fine.
I'm coming from a Galaxy S variant (Vibrant) and I've got to say, the more popular a phone is, the more idiots you'll draw to the forums. And believe me, idiots are always the most vocal. That's why you've been seeing a lot of N4 hate. It's truly undeserved.
I've had the phone for a day and a half and I love it. Amazing device with enough battery to last me a full day with heavy usage (it lasted from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Tuesday, and I was playing with it the whole time). I had Gorilla Glass (first generation, not as nice as GG2) on my old phone and the screen really took a beating, and then some. But with the screen on, you won't even distinguish it from a brand new Galaxy S.
The phone has a very faint rattle if I shake it hard and out my ear up next to it... haven't noticed the rattle in any other circumstance. It's super fast, as you know. The colors aren't washed out at all. Compared to my calibrated display, it's a little warm with whites and blues are a little too cold, but that's nothing a gamma shifts won't fix. The display on my Galaxy S, in retrospect, looks positively cartoonish.
As for the durability... I haven't marred my phone and don't foresee any issues, but maybe other people are just more prone to that kind of thing.
Anyway good luck with your 1X+. I hear it's a great phone and I'm sure you'll be happy with it. The HTC community is generally pretty good since most of the idiots jumped ship and the diehard devs and fans stuck with their first love(d company).
But seriously, there are some really stupid people posting in this subforum and I really wish we Thanking posts had a negative counterpart.

People seem to think that they are in the majority of a phone's user base on these forum's. They're not.
They seem to think that because this is a Google Phone they're the only people who know about it. They're not.
We are in the minority, and it's a small one at that.
It's a fact that glass will break, it was a relatively common issue with iPhone 4 and the 4S.
Your post sounded like you expected the glass to be indestructible and then got really disappointed and bitter that it breaks just like glass will.
First of all your talking about ~5 out of how many? (a lot)
2ndly I see the same thing on any new phone release usually related to the front glass, dropping the phone is dropping the phone, end of story.
If you are one who drops your phone, then use a case. If you've never broken your screen, don't worry about it.
I've never run a case on a single of my phones, and I have yet to break one. I don't expect this to be any different. (I had the iPhone 4 as well with glass back).
If you really want a pretty looking phone that's not too big, why not just get an iPhone 5 instead? After having the nexus, that's the only phone worth buying on contact in my opinion, since the nexus is off contact and makes contact androids feel like a rip off.

Well, one thought is that with the iPhone 4/4S you can get cheap replacement back off ebay. The back for the "Nexus 4" contains only cheap antenna for NFC and wireless charging, so I'd expect backs to pop up as well.
I wish people would stop complaining about the glass back on this phone!!!!!
Its glass, if you drop it the chances are it will break SO DONT DROP IT!!!!!
If you drop phones a lot then get an otterbox or something!
I know loads of iphone users and there phones are fine because they never dropped them. Phones dont just explode ( motsly ) on their own so look after your stuff.
My best freind got a galaxy s3 and dropped it 2 days after he bought it when we was out drinking and the front screen smashed!
I didnt go around saying "oh im not getting one of those the screen smashes if you drop it and the plastic scratches".
Not long back i got mad while playing some xbox and threw my controller and it broke... shocking
Please post this on your blog instead.

[Q] Would you guys recommend buying the LG G Flex?

Hi,
I'm looking for a new device, as my Note 1 looks like it's about to join the big charger in the sky.
I know the basics - large screen, good battery & processor, meh resolution etc. Judging form the specs and reviews I've read, it looks like a good fit for me.
What I'd like to know is if you'd recommend buying it for long term use (I'm not one to change phones every year), and if there are issues with the phone you think I should know about.
It's a great phablet. Fast, comfortable and bug free. Battery seems to last forerver. Feels solid yet slippery in the hand, and close to impossible to use one handed. You won't feel the difference made by the 720p resolution after a few hours. Color reproduction is great and the screen is sharp and bright.
Coming from the note 2, i see only 3 downsides In the flex.
1. The camera. Real slow to focus indoors, produces lots of noise in dark areas... Sometimes i cant determine where the focus point is. Perfect daylight and closeups though.
2. Lack of development. This phone is locked down tight, so if you love to flash like me, it's a disappointment.
3. No cases, no glass screen protectors. Almost. You can still find them around ebay and amazon, but not as much stuff a samsung would have.
On the bottom line this is a great mid-high range phone, and for the right price, and the right mind it will do.

Thanks!
I don't really care about the camera. The lack of development is a bummer. Might have been a deal breaker for me if it wasn't for Xposed.
Oh, one more thing - some users had an issue with ghosting or after images on the screen. Anyone had this problem? How widespread is it?

It really is a matter of luck... Some of the phones were bad from factory.. You have something like that, you'll get it replaced with your warrenty.
If you want to keep it long term and lack of updates (and also latest apps) will bug you then I suggest Nexus 6 over it. My dad has this phone and I have the nexus, dont get me wrong g flex is a nice phone but starting to fall back in technology and will likely not get updates for 2+ years

Only thing I dont like is that the USB C port cutout is too sharp. When I hold it with my finger, it seem to cut it at times
No regrets at all. Just AOSP rom would be a lot better, which should arrive soon.
The device has a piss-poor camera. Guess that's the only thing I regret. Its so bad that some phones almost 2years old takes better photos.
This is because of the very small Omnivision sensors used on this device.
But I knew about this even before I bought the device and since I don't take a lot of photos on my phone, it doesn't bother me much.
The fact that the device is very fragile and doesn't have any premium cases available also bugs me a bit. I really wish there were some decent looking protective cases for this phone.

I've seen the Pelosi case online. The product images looked like the case didn't offer much in terms of protection, especially around the screen. Also the material seemed to be very light, possibly to keep the case slim. The case looks good and I was tempted to buy. I didn't because of these reasons.
But if you have the case and its good, please post photos in my thread. Link
I created that thread as there are very few good cases available for this device and if everyone could post photos of what case and screen protector they had on the device, it would help other buyers too.

Please post pictures of your current setup on this thread and also if you happen to receive the Love Mei case before me.

I did, until I got the unlock approval. I immediately flashed the xiaomi.eu rom and (most) of my gripes were dealt with; being android auto not working and horrible background battery drain. I still hate the home screen icon backgrounds, the fact it wont rotate, and the stock dpi... but other than that I am happy, for now.
My only complaint is that the screen is too small for my liking. I've had several larger phones in the past and I really miss the extra screen real estate. It almost seems like the screen is too skinny and long. So webpages are still small but long.

Try 320dpi. I'm lovin it! 320 was the stock dpi on the Xperia Z Ultra I had a few years back. And it works great on the Mix too. I feel 320 should have been the default DPI on the Mix.

No issues mate! I'm on the EU ROM and I don't see any issues at 320. This should have been the stock DPI. I can confirm that everything works fine. No issues with icon or any UI elements. Stock apps and all the other usual apps work great as well. All good! You'll be able to see more info on the screen and I bet you'll love 320!
I was waiting for something like the Z Ultra to show up. And finally it did! If you had the Z Ultra, you may remember that camera wasn't Sony's priority. It was all about the experience. And Xiaomi has made that experience even better! The mix is just perfect!

I just tried 320DPI, oh man, I love it!!! It even fixed my News360 app that I love but would only show me 2 articles per screen on this phone and now shows 6!
The only downside is that top status bar with the clock and battery and such is pretty small. But that's certainly a good compromise as the reset of the phone looks normal now, all I did was bump the UI font size up from small to medium and it all looks great.
All of the icons appear to be working fine, but I use Nova Launcher, so maybe that why.
320 DPI is pretty much a standard DPI for android, and so I expect alot of apps are tuned for that DPI.
Thanks for the great suggestion! The phone looks like a normal phone now....
Received mine today. I thought I could get by without a case but no way. It's slippery! Luckily a case came with it.

There are, just use eBay or AliExpress.
About the camera you can take better pictures with another camera app or just learn to hold still and focus correctly xD I can take n decent photos.
It was easier in my s7 edge but even so I knew from the beginning this camera was inferior.
Here you have some photos taken by the default camera app and being steady.
I would say it's the same type of quality of my old LG g3 if you learn how to use it ?

Those are some good clicks mate! Like I said, camera was not a priority for me when I bought this device. I usually don't use my phone cameras a lot and only for some occasional snaps.. I knew that this device had an inferior camera compared to the competition.
Most people usually depend on their phone's camera for random clicks like when your drunk friend is doing something funny at a party or when it appears as if your dog is smiling. Random events like these, when you may not have your dedicated camera at hand. That's when your phone's camera is handy. And for casual spur of the moment clicks like these, this phone's camera is quite unreliable. In most cases those moments you intended to capture would end up as a blurry or noisy mess.
Like you said, if you put enough effort, you may be able to get a few good shots like you just shared. But that was not my point as it defeats the purpose of a phone's camera.

Jeez, nothing wrong with those at all.
I agree as well. Took a few shots and pics look fine. From all the reviews, I was expecting worse.
Best phone I've ever owned.
iPhone 4 -> iPhone 5 -> HTC One -> Samsung S5 LTE-A -> Note 7 (pretty nice) -> Xiaomi Mi Mix.
This thing is a MONSTER. Fast as hell, best battery I've ever seen (better than the Note 7), humongous display, sexy as build quality, tons of RAM, tons of fast memory, fast charging, etc. I'm surprised this exists.

What I Love and Hate about my new OnePlus 5!

My OP5 has replaced my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge which unfortunately was dropped and shattered the front glass. It's expensive/difficult to replace the glass on these so I treated myself to a new phone. So this is what I Love and Hate about my new OnePlus 5!
Love
The Snapdraggon 835 -The phone is Fast and bang up to date in connectivity support.
Fast storage and lots of memory- More Speed
No bloatware and streamlined Android -Contributes to the speed and simplicity.
The silent/DnD slider button -No more taking my phone out and turning the display on to switch it to silent! Fantastic.
Fast responsive finger print unlocking.
Solid Home button -Sooner or later the push down home buttons on galaxies start to wear causing rocking, noises/rattles, missed clicks etc because of their frequent use. Hopefully nothing to wear out here.
The deep blacks and saturation from the AMOLED panel
3.5mm jack -Can still use my headphones without an adapter.
Battery -Amazing battery life and the DASH charge is great too.
USB C -So easy to plug in the charger in the dark now.
Gorilla Glass 5 -better drop resistance, the gorilla glass 4 on my Galaxy S7 drop failed
Glass on one side. Feels less premium in a way, but reduces the weight of the phone. This means less force when it falls and less chance of shattering the screen. However metal dents and scratches easily.
Hate
The Camera. So much hype and so much disappointment. Good on paper and for taking 'benchmark' photos. But very poor in real world phone usage. The S7 camera is WAY better. I'm so disappointed I gave it it's own thread.
Only 1080P screen. Also if the brightness is turned up I can see 'noise' on the display. Also get some weird distortions when scrolling. Viewing angle is good, but not excellent. Automatic brightness control is also hit and miss. The S7 was much better. A big downgrade on the S7 display in all areas.
Design is good. But it doesn't look as nice as say a galaxy S8
Having DRM issues, such as reduced quality Netlix streaming. I hope this gets sorted soon.
Sound is loud, but quality is average.
Not waterproof
No SD Card support. Who really wants two sim card holders? Make the other slot for an sdcard like Samsung.
Price. £450 is not a value bargain like the old versions. You can buy a Samsung S8 on Amazon for £550 now.
In a nutshell. It's a mid range phone in regards to features and design, but with high end performance. I don't think it's a bargain. I think the price is about right for what you get.
Sometimes I ask myself why do people actually upgrade from S7 or equal??
The S7/S7 edge is only one year old. I think it's also nonsense to upgrade from S7 to S8 for example.
What do people expect to get? A whole new smartphone experience? Ppl knew the specs right from the start, before they bought it. Of course a 1080p screen will be worse than a QHD.
It's not waterproof, you knew that. It has no SD-Slot, you knew that as well.
For the smoothness and the speed to exist, as well as the great batterylife, there need to be some things that can't be amazing as well for this price. And it's not even bad on this phone.
I understand disappointment, but it's mostly because people expect too much from a phone that is only 1 year younger than the one they own.
I'm coming from a Nexus 5 and I'm totally happy with the OP5. My gf has a S7 edge. They are both good phones. The Samsung might have a better camera, but the Android experience and smoothness is GALAXIES better with the OP5.
Sometimes ist also about people's priotities.
Just my 2 cents. Hope you'll enjoy your new device

I don't think you can add lack of water proofing and no SD card slot and only 1080p to the list of hate since you should have known this already but continued to purchase the phone.

Question Worst galaxy ever. Here's why to avoid

Coming from S9, Note 10+ and many other older galaxy phones have to say this is absolutely the worst Samsung device I have ever owned.
For those considering, here are reasons why you should strongly think about whether you want to spend the money on this particular model
- Extremely large and heavy device. Doesn't fit in pockets, pulls down pants / shirts it is so heavy
- Extremely unbalanced. Hurts your hand / wrist trying to balance it unless you get a popsocket because it is so top heavy
- Super fragile screen. Low cost panel is super easy to break. Mine broke after 4 weeks of light use in a weird way (half on / half off, intermittant dimming of each display half)
- Loaded with malware. Tons of Samsung malware / adware / spyware to debloat, assuming you get the Exynos
- Back coating for anything but Silver is super easily chipped. Phantom Black chips daily unless you get a case (and increase the size)
- Runs hot. Nice in winter to keep you hands warm but otherwise annoying - any videos or games and expect to feel the heat
- Slow to charge. Super Fast charger takes an hour and a half
- Camera is misleading. Only certain zoom increments work correctly - all others are blurry / basically no improvement relative to s20
While the 10x zoom is sort of cool the reality is that this phone is a lemon compared to other Samsungs or current Apple competition.
Very unrefined effort relative to iphone or better Sammy devices (ex. Note 10+ or Galaxy Alpha) in terms of weight / materials / balance / display.
Likely last Samsung I buy - seriously considering Pixel 5 on GrapheneOS given the litany of hardware and software issues from a super expensive phone you don't really even own.
Interesting perspective. This is my first return to Samsung after writing them off years ago. Outside of the bloat (which can be removed via ADB) and the lack luster camera performance (in comparison to the Pixel line) the phone is solid! It's not any heavier than other similar size devices. It's very fluid and smooth. It's got great hardware and build quality.
If it hurts your wrist... I really can't help you there. Never had such an issue. The balance point in the device is at about the power button so pretty mid phone really.
Most of the weight related comments are subjective. I actually prefer the weight and feel of this device compared to the Note 20 ultra.
You forgot... no SD card slot. No native spen.
And those wretched rounded display corners.
I would at least expect it to be more durable with dog ugly rounded corners. It's a step backward in design and features. I wouldn't buy it for $400.
It wouldn't be the first time I rejected/bypassed a Samsung release.
Samsung has always run hot and cold.
Feel the wuv... just my opinion

I was like you once in regards to the near right angled corners of the Note series. It was my favorite aesthetic part of this phone. But maybe boredom got the better of the me. As I'm digging the smooth rounded corners now. It's so nice to hold in the hand nekid. Ooh errr....
The curved edges are less aggressive as well. The s21U with a 6.9" display would have been nice. Roll on the s22U lol. Truth be told, I would have probably been a Huawei guy by now. Now they make some good hardware. But ant competitive practices put an end to their rise to dominance.
PS I'm in the process of removing bloat. Doesn't seem to be as effective on this device. Perhaps disabling isn't as good as uninstalling like what I used to do ?
This is an entirely subjective assessment of the phone. I never had any of these issues and I thoroughly enjoy the experience of the phone. I made sure to do my research before getting this phone and weigh what the important aspects of it vs the not so important aspects. I'm sorry you've had this experience and I hope you get the right device for you next time.

Mine are quite strong surprisingly
Perhaps consider using a belt or jackets with bigger pockets... This phone weighs as much as the iPhone 12 Pro Max and less than the Mi 11 Ultra. If you want the best, you have to accept the weight.
There's no more or less "malware" than any other Samsung device.
What's misleading about the camera? It's got 4 rear cameras each with a specific zoom level.
This sounds like one of those situations where you should've tried out the phone in a store before buying it. Online reviews isn't the same as holding it in your hands.

Indeed. The issue with the size and weight would've been avoided if he/she had done a physical trial of the phone before buying.
Also, the experience of one doesn't mean the experience of many.

Walk softly and carry a big S21...
Sounds to me like the author of this potentially sarcastic post, really needs a pink iphone 12 mini.....
