[ROM][22/07]- Wild Ginger – Gingerbread 2.3.4 AOSP – [DISCONTINUED]

This ROM is DISCONTINUED
I am sorry to say I don't find the time to further develop this ROM, if anyone wants to continue this ROM please do so. Just pm me and it's fine. Thanks for using this ROM and for your feedback. Maybe in the future I will begin a new ROM project. For now I am only developping a ROM Download Manager for the desktop, keep an eye on the portal .

I have been using this ROM for the last hour or so. I did a backup, clean wipe and fresh flash. I have let the new ROM settle and have done a manual reeboot also.
I am a humble end-user and not a dev but thought that I would give a breakdown of some of my first impressions and observations.
I like the boot annimation alot, I also like the lock screen. Both look clean.
I like the orange font used in the status bar and the pull down menu although the "Wild Ginger" wording in the drop down menu is very blury and looks ugly.
The window transistions are smooth as you like but don't feel snappy quick.
I think the new honeycomb launcher is a nice touch but doesn't seem as intuative as the regular launchers such as ADW; maybe it's because I'm not used to honeycomb yet.
My main gripe about the Honeycomb launcher is that it force closes ALL the time. I have been trying to remove the Google search bar widget that is pre-loaded on screen after first boot and it is impossible (and the widgets aren't even locked to desktop). Also I can't ADD any additional widgets - you can select a widget to add but nothing happens!
From the main screen, waiting for the menu to appear takes about 5seconds which is an age. The "Personalise Honeycomb" menu doesn't fit the whole screen and you can see thick band of the desktop down the right of the screen which is ugly.Once in the preferences menu it isn't at all clear what you are meant to do... You can see the "Apply Settings" button but it took me tapping about the rest of the screen to finally make the actual preferance choices appear.
I have tested inbound and outbound calls and wifi both work as standard. The music player has nice interface, camera works and stock browser is fine. I don't like the dark blue highlight that appears when you press on an app icon it looks clumsy.
The numbers 1,2 and 3 are almost cut in half in the dialer and the green phone "call" icon doesn't seem to fit in it's area neatly.
I like H4oxer's work on this ROM and I hope it continues to get better but with these quite apparent bugs I will respectfully wait for an update before I continue to use this ROM.

tried to flash but no luck stuck at splash screen,did wipe,factory reset,dalvik...how long was first boot for you guys?

You'll have to wait 5-10 minutes... leave it for 10 minutes on first boot..

why I cant see any progres in progres bar in recovery,says instaling update ...
(now no progres of writing files) and afther just 10-15 sec instal complete,is this normal? usualy can see progres and takes a bit longer

Yes it's normal, I didn't payed attention at the progressbar while writing the updater file , but it works don't worry. It installs fast because it had not much apps on board. Just the essential.

Wierd. This ROM is working fine for me. Did you wipe /data and /cache?

yes did everything...dont know simple not booting,stucked on splash screen not even bootanimation

OK....first impressions are good. Startup in less than 4 minutes. Looking good. Everything is working out of the box, no force closing or similar problems. Nice themes, Market app is interesting
LCD density set to 115 and dialpad and everything else looks good
need to be done
- icons in status bar - phone signal at least
- trackpad wakeup
- sound on lock/unlock
- 6x5 icons is too much... 4x5 would be better in my opinion
- Home screen - same as above
- when LCD density changed no way to add widgets or apps to home screen
all in all very good rom, but need a little bit of fixing

I hope that in next version it will have trackpad & volumes wakeup to ... protect our Wildfires' poor Power Buttons

[ROM][16-08-15][GT-I9506][5.0.2][PORT] Darklord Galaxy S6 v3.0 for S4

This is a port from Galaxy Note 3, see original thread here, below is mostly a copy of original author, i just tested and fixed device drivers for our i9506 device.

I believe so, i only tried to match drivers for hardware and of course, not used kernel of original port or Aroma (yet).
So changelog should be his completely, except if something is not S4 compatible.

I've added MD5 now, probably best to check that. I got no issues here installing that binary file.

What about battery life and wifi issue?

One issue with Alarm not giving any sound when phone is put in silent or vibration mode. Can't seem to find any setting to solve this.

always remember to change "keep wifi during standby" this is one major battery drain issue, but always default set to "always on", dunno why.
My device is not hot compared to my note 3. maybe i use it differently, or you should use cpu master to adjust cpu usage.

Another bug is when i set the names of the application to show as alphabetical order once i restart phone it is undone

Nice work! Gps locks fast! Found 2 bugs:
1: When phone is locked, if i press home button , sometimes the camera opens itself (i can see it after unlocking my phone).
2: When playing 1080p on youtube, video freezes (audio is working well).

1. Even this rom doesn't recognize the ambient light sensor.
2. Tested the recording. As mentioned 5 seconds of garbled audio. Followed by clean recording.
3. Call recording gives out dirty audio files. (ACR used)
4. Will post if I find any. Hopefully I don't

Try use the Sony Audio Recorder
I don't have a way to test it now but please test with the Sony one
It solved a bug closer to this once with other ROM...

Which Redmi2 variant are you using? I just want to check if these issues are present on Redmi2/2A/Prime variants, or are specific to just one.

How can you close a call with the screen dead? Is there a way to disable the ambient light sensor?
Otherwise, calls would remain open until I manually remove the battery.

You have to use xposed framework and download 'disable proximity sensor' module.

In settings / interface / you can turn on option - power button ends call, I'm using it. Good solution by now.

Tell me How's the Battery Backup in this Rom. I am currently using Resurrection Remix which doesn't has good battery backup. Also the device heats too much.
Is this Better than that?

Full screen gestures - global beta rom

Upgraded to latest global beta rom 8.1.18 yesterday and have to say I am loving how xiaomi implemented the new screen gestures feature. Once I got used to it whizzing around between apps in full screen mode is a beauty on this phone.
The rom also seems excellent and bug free overall. And with the updated notifications working properly finally I don't feel like the xiaomi rom is second best anymore.

Yes, i also likes that new gestures, but i like to use One hand mode - and it not work in gesture mode .

Snappy rom! Unfortunately Netflix can't play.

Thank you for this ROM. Working great for me after a few days of use. Some minor issues with settings, which I'm guessing are due to it being for a different device. Nothing that's gotten in the way of daily use though!

Thank you very much for the new rom for the Tab S2. I am still taking it daily.
May I ask which is the base of the rom? I assume that it is based on a Samsung rom but it is not sure for me (or I have read too fast the first post).
Currently I am still on LOS 14.1 which runs fast and stable but I will test something new for sure.

I use Sony Xperia keyboard for a couple of years. Never want an other again. I install it on all my devices, including the one's off my kids.
(found somewhere on xda)

I use Sony Xperia keyboard for a couple of years. Never want an other again. I install it on all my devices, including the one's off my kids.

Google keyboard also have full list of language but I like samsung keyboard.

What Android version is this rom.. also I think you meant 2019 in the update date posted on your op correct?
edit... answered my own question... sdk 24 = android 7.0
