Hello friend, I have a verizon model and I thought I would never see any good custom rom.
I would like to try it, but first I would like to know if this process increases the number of knox.
my phone has never been uploaded from knox x0.0, it has never been rooted or anything like that

Just one request.. please get the center clock mod and battery indicator mods back from the noname ROM in the next version. This has been great so far on battery and all. In the past I only needed root for batch restore of apps via TiBu and the hacked Wifi Tether since I'm still on Old VZW grandfathered plan.. but this ROM is still going well. I tried restoring 3minit Battery mod but it did not go well.. lol No hurry.. Thanks again!!!

In the folder with all the stuff right click with mouse inside that folder and choose open command window here. In that command window type Verizon.bat hit enter

Does this work using some kind of engineering recovery/bootloader? Before I know that it wasn't possible to modify files inside the standard recovery image.
Could we also make modifications to the system and data partitions using this recovery(flashing the custom BL, making changes, and then going back) rather than the eng kernel? I had experimented with making tar backups of the /data partition with the eng boot.img in the past but they were unstable as I was reading and writing to a mounted partition.
I flash often so this would save having to resetup all the items that smartsync doesn't catch.

Great job by the way on this! I just had a question regarding the phone UI. The places tab, are you able to get this to work? I personally don't know what is missing to enable this. Any help would be appreciated. Again great job though on this ROM!

If you do not wipe data, you will run into a lot of quirks.
Also, if you have issues with super user, just download SuperSU http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1538053 Get the flashable zip.
If, you flash and are not rooted, just re-root the device.
About phone will not show ZVB. It only shows the latest ota/tot you've installed. For proof, check build.prop or check your download speed (wifi or mobile )
Quickboot has been provided for boot options. Power menu is completely stock.

Step 3 clearly states to backup device.
If there are any kwirks, like no status bar or missing images within the UI, just reboot. IDK why this happens but it does. Just reboot and things should be OK.
Also, pls be weary of any tweaks or addons you install. Examine the OG Tweaks script in the init.d folder for any conflicts first. If you don't know, ask.

Sweet. Will have to give it a go.
I just finished getting the Fascinatemtd ported to Ubuntu Touch. Need to complete my repo and get it out there.
Haven't gotten a new phone, yet. Still looking forward to doing something with this little old Revo when I do, though.
Flashed the ROM this morning. I am setting up my phone right now. So far everything seems good. Runs great thus far. I will run it for a few days and post back.

Appreciate it.
One thing, my wife's revo prompted her for the zvb update. I believe i forgot to disable the updater. My bad y'all. You can manually fix it or just wait a bit. I will post a patch to disable the verizon updater; makes it simple if you don't know how.
I went from ZVB stock to OG and so far it has been pretty seamless. I have all my apps installed again and everything configured. Everything appears to work great. Nice debloated base ROM with a few tweaks is exactly what I was looking for in a ROM.
Great Work.
My recommendation to those who are still here, Use the TOT and take the phone to ZV9, update to ZVB, root/cwm, back it up, and make the switch from BO...
The problem I fill with BO was there was to much done to it and that between the Kernal and the overclocking it just makes the phone unstable for many. I know I could not run it.
It would be nice if we could get the ZVB TOT and get the firmware ripped out.
Great work I.M.
Good to hear. And about the firmware, I'm working on that. I'm seem to be stuck on v8.

Really dumb question but....what link to I click to download the file from the download site? I clicked download and it brought me to a site that tries to sign me up for Netball???
Edit: Found the link. Buried between a bunch of ads towards the bottom of the page....
Just flashed OG ZVB, looks like you removed the Bing APK because when I hit the search button on the bottom right I get an error message. Any way to rewire that so it launches google search?
Never noticed that. I'll look into it and see what's up.

Also, I am having issues with Internet Connectivity. Web browsing seems to be fine but the Play Store is almost completely nonresponsive as well as downloading themes from within Beautiful Widgets. I am not sure why the internet works in one place but not another. Thought I would report this nonetheless however.

the connectivity issue 'could' be caused by the ad blocking host file. There should be 2 host files within the rom. One of them is a backup of the stock host file. Just swap em and reboot. also, vzw dns servers have always seemed a little slow to me. try changing them to google's dns servers. Rom toolbox can do it for you. I'm also gonna check and see if it is something on my end.
And as to the search issue, mine goes to google. Maybe try installing google search from the playstore and let us know.

Ok well.... bye guys, I will no longer be developing for this phone(publicly).
I built a ZVB ROM based on OG, it flashes, it boots, it is very slow, did not make it into the setup screen, it restarts.
Could it be made not to do this?
If so I will continue making ROMS.
But for now TestROM will just be getting bug fixes, and tweaks no ZVB.

Send me a link the your rom. I'll take a look and see if there is something I can do to help.
ok so I have been running this for about a day now. Initially it was very slow and internet connectivity was intermittant. I downloaded a third party ad blocking app and redid the hosts file and that seemed to fix it. But another part of the prob I was having was that it turns out that I DID in fact lose root access. So I rerooted and re-CWMed and now its running flawlessly.
Here are some suggstions for next release:
1) Remove even more bloat (DeskHome for example)
2) Replace Launcher with something better. LG Home sucks!
3) Add in Google Maps, Quick Boot or similar (or mod Power Menu to include same functionality incl screencap feature), and add the latest Swype as default keyboard (LG ZVB preinstalled Swype is terrible).
4) Replace Superuser with SuperSU and fix this whole losing root on flash thing.
5) Update all preinstalled apps with latest version.
6) Update About Phone to include all relevant info for ROM and underlying firmware.
7) update default Browser homepage to Google.com or something (really anything other than the LG default...terrible)
8) enable non market apps and usb debugging by default
9) update with a cool boot ani (like the android peeing on the apple, I love that one!)
OK this is all I can think of for now. Thanks so much for your work here! It's way more than anything I could do! Now that I have fixed the hosts issue and root issue this ROM is working great. Although I am still having intermittant occasional data connectivity issues. I will continue to monitor.

I'm on the sidelines now since this phone is no longer activated and is a lonely server sitting at home. Going to see if I can get the official OTA to ZVB and try your next release. Great going for keeping some air in this old tire
...not sure if ZVB will OTA to a phone that's not active. Will see.
Edit: Nope. The OTA has to come over the air. Seems obvious, eh? I had to fit the active micro SIM card from the GS4 into the Revo to get the update OTA.

I agree pretty much. I would leave home but convert it to a non system app. I would add another launcher. Home is not normally laggy for me but it is in this rom. Updated swipe would be ok.
I prefer the stock boot animation vs. animations like the android peeing on an apple do no interest me what so ever.
As for overall performance... Today it really seems very very slow. For now I am going to have to restore my back up. It is really really dragging ass.
Ok guys, I've almost got custom boot animations to work with the stock kernel and I think I got the lag figured out. Testing out a few things, so be looking for an update shortly.

MAKE SURE TO BACKUP YOUR PHONE, YOU MAY NEED TO FACTORY RESET AFTER FLASHING THE ENGBOOT FILE. ( MAY BE FOR THOSE WHO HAVE DISABLED SYSTEM APPS)
1- Put your device in to download mode ( Power off--- Hold Down arrow + Home + Power button)
2-Open the provided ODIN and where it says "AP" select and open the file "Samsung_G935x_QC_Rooted_BOOT.TAR" -- FLASH it--
3- The phone should now reboot
Installing SuperSU
easiest way to put it for flashing su.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nLvRuzQMPLk
1- make sure you have the adb toolkit installed( place it in the root of the "C:/" drive. Mine is "C:/adb"
2- place the superuser folder you downloaded in to c:/adb and rename it "super" to make things easier
3- open the command prompt. Either search for it or press windows key + r and type in "cmd"
4- once cmd is open, navigate to the "super" folder. To do so type cd c:/ , then type cd adb and finally type cd super
5- type in root.bat
You should now be rooted.

my apologies i have not rooted for a while, can you direct me how you installed xposed on the att model? do i need to flash twrp? also which app did u use to change the kernel?
And just for the novelty of it to those who may be interested - You can also install the SM-935U firmware, and root it with the same files and same method. Benefit to that if you wish it, is the U firmware is carrier independent and comes with zero carrier bloat, and most of the Samsung bloat can be uninstalled even without rooting. (Yes, uninstalled, not just disabled). With root it suffers from the same performance issues as the 935A root, but we're working on a method that doesn't require the engboot (source of most of the performance issues) to hopefully eliminate those.

You Odin the Engineering kernel, install SU (root), install Flash Fire from the Android store, install the xposed app, then flash the correct xposed OTA through Flash Fire. Xposed works without a hitch on my G935a with the stock AT&T rom.

While rooted, apparently not from what people have said. It can detect the root. Though restoring either to stock, or to the U firmware (as long as you don't root again after restoring) fixes it. Knox isn't tripped.

Super SU does require root. I was confused by his answer as well. I wondered if I could use the latest Base for my phone from Autoroot but I'm not willing to risk it without knowing for sure.

haha i assumed so just wanted to clarify
Just out of stupidity, and morbid curiosity I tried to Autoroot the last known good rom from that site. And it failed with a FRP lock error message. I'm surprised it didn't brick.
Hey why don't you make your own rom. Pretty easy... you customize it to your like, I made mine and it's pretty stable. And it roots it from pc

I don't think you understand. The rom isn't the issue here, It's getting root access that's the problem.
Okay, so thanks to this thread here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/tm...oot-samsung-galaxy-s6-sm-g920t-t3382856/page6 and the person who did it (to my knowledge) @AZWildcat
Copy & pasted @ktrinh4213
1) Update Your Samsung Galaxy S6 SM-G920T T Mobile to Marshmallow If You Didn't Done Yet -- CF-Auto Root works on all versions of Android thus far. "CF-Auto-Root-zerofltetmo-zerofltetmo-smg920t.zip"
2) Download CF-Auto-Root Samsung Galaxy S6 SM-G920T T Mobile 6.0.1 Marshmallow.Just Search it in Google And download From Chainfire
3) Download And Install the Samsung USB Driver in your PC.
4) Extract the CF-Auto-Root files in your PC.
5) Go to Settings->About Device->Tap Build Number until Developer Options is unlocked.
6) Go back to Settings-> Developer Options-> Toggle OEM Unlock. This will prevent your device from being soft-bricked (and save you time downloading and reinstalling the OEM ROM).
7) Switch off your Mobile. Enter into Download mode->Volume Down+Home+Power Buttons.
8) After entering into Download Mode it will say Warning Press Volume Up button to continue.
9) Connect Your Mobile With PC via USB Cable.
10) Launch Odin Application. It Will Show the message "ADDED!!!". If you did not get this message Repeat the above steps.
11) After Getting Added Message Select PDA Button then Browse for the CF-Auto-Root file. If using Odin 10.x, look for the AP button, and search for the CF-Auto Root file. Select it. Where the messages populate, go to the Options tab. Tick the Auto reboot. THIS WILL TRIP KNOX.
12) Press Start wait for the tasks to complete. It may enter into Recovery mode to add the SuperSu permissions.
13) Reboot again.
You can See the Superuser after the Reboot in your Applications list.
Sorry if I did tagging wrong I usually lurk

Request for Root on NWS2.170620.003 Security Patch level July 1, 2017

hi,
i am new in these forums,
i searched over the web and also tried many root methods, but none worked.
root method for NXH19X is not working for me i tried multiple times.
the main error i am getting is "unable to mount /system; no such thing found" in TWRP
i also tried multiple Supersu files official ones and unofficial ones as well.
after some research i found out about new file system squashfs FS
then i tried this rom which supports EXT4 File System
here is link: https://forum.xda-developers.com/g-watch-r/development/rom-ext4all-g-watch-r-skin1980-t3589917
but it didnot work out as well,(get boot looped)
so flashed stock rom and now on latest update as told earlier,
so its my request, i need help. if someone please come up with any working method to root latest stock rom and security patches(build number and security patch in title)
why stock rom?
i personally like stock rom and it is working fine for me.
why root?
i have root on my phone (one plus one), i felt like i am unable to use my watch on full potential without root.
and we all like root that's why we are here right
thank you
(i actually don't know the how to write any threads so bear with me please) :fingers-crossed:
This post of mine will work. Tried on many roms and it works.
Some play store apps says i dont have root but I do as the app i use that needs root works : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.skin1980.buttonremap
So use this procedure :
https://forum.xda-developers.com/g-watch-r/development/nxh19x-boot-img-rooted-t3651039
The problem is that u need a TWRP for squash images which you can find in the mentioned post

hi
i tried your given method,
twrp seems to work fine first time,
but i lost twrp as soon as i boot into system,
some how system replace recovery with default one each time watch booted into android itself,
however i am able to boot into recovery, when tried directly from fast-boot after flashing it,
but still unable to obtain root,
the zip files seems to flash perfectly, but there is no su in app drawer,
thanks for your support, but i think new version makes it harder to gain root,
and i am fine without root i can live without it.
thanks again.

(Guide) Work Profile Alternative for Rooted/Knox Tripped

Does your workplace have a BYOD policy that enforces full device encryption?
Have you already unlocked your bootloader and rooted your device, thus tripping Samsung Knox?
Have you tried to use Android Work Profile only to find out that "Your custom OS" does not allow it even if you reverted to stock and unrooted? (I know, right?)
Here is the solution...
Steps
Unlock Bootloader and Install TWRP.
(Thanks dr.ketan and geiti94)
Install the Dev-Base ROM and force Encryption by using the Dev-base ROM file name tags/triggers. (Thanks _alexndr)
Upon booting for the first time, setup pin with the checkbox for booting with pin protection. (This is full device Encryption).
Reboot
Enable Multi User (Samsung has disabled this by default)
arpanbag1996 said:
Enable multi-user feature on your Android one phone (running Android 5.1 Lollipop) without flashing .zip through custom recovery. All you need is root access.
Just go to /system , edit your "build.prop" file and add the following lines:
fw.max_users=3
fw.show_multiuserui=1
Save and reboot your phone. Done! Tested on Micromax Canvas A1.

Add another user in settings>accounts.
Switch to second user and add your work account.
Make sure not to use any app that removes full device encryption. (Example: bxActions)
I've done this on my own device (SM-960F/DS) and it works great!
Let me know if anyone had success with any other ways to do this. I'm always open to suggestions.
Reserved for updates and alternatives
Thanks a lot for this guide! However, unless I'm missing something here, this method doesn't create an actual work profile, but a rather a seperate user on the device that's devoted just for the G Suite account (as adding my G Suite account on the sub user does not even prompt me to create a Work Profile). On my current device, ZTE Axon 7, where I can use work profile version and my personal gmail app side by side as if they are two separate apps, instead having to switch user account.
And of course, I can just add my G Suite account to my main user since I guess I'll trade a bit of my privacy from corporate IT for convenience sake. On the other hand I wonder if @_alexndr can consider enabling this feature in DevBase...
Or use an app like Nine (by 9Folders) that enforces Exchange Security at the app level and doesn't require the device to be secure.
Or you can use Exchained to bypass the policy entirely for Exchange based BYOD policies.

I'm pretty sure this thread is about G Suite and Android work profile and not the Microsoft's stuff?

No, it is about Android Work profile.
Microsoft Itunes use Work profile
G Suite Idk use work profile
But All MDM use work profile since android 9 ( maybe 8)
This thread should be on every samsung device. Because the issue is caused by knox.
Would this work for my Samsung A70. Really looking for a answer.
I'm confused. So which option should I choose out of the above replies and OP's suggestion? I want to have my work account on my personal device. But my phone is rooted, Knox triggered.
"island" is the app you are looking for
Updated long back but still works pretty fine.
Try "island" from playstore
Not updated from quite long but will do the job.

I installed Island and its gives me "cannot create work profile" error. Tried to setup Island with root, and I got stage 1 error.
Remove knox
Knox uses the same method as island to create work profile. Try installation after removing Knox.
Is possible i use in n950f? i lost the work profile installing the rom deluxe, and i need to work.
Hey Guys, i also have a fresh rooted and with custom rom installed Samsung (S10e but i assume the model doesn't matter for this topic).
I also have a GSuite account from my company and don't get it managed to istalla work profile on my phone.
Just getting a error that i use an modified ROM and therefore a work profile cannot be installed.
I know such similar issues from my pixel 3 where i just use Magisk hide which unfortunately don't work on the Samsung.
Also tried exchained and Island app (cannot be installed) which also don't really work.
For me the app Island work!!! Really thanks i use deluxe Room in note 8.
But the add a icon in initial menu the icon os the same, dont haver a small bag BLUE in bottom

can you share how you did this? which MDM solution are you using?
Maybe he can fix the job profile just like patching the security folder, so that he can work on the device that Knox tripped over! There will always be incompatibility when setting the island!

This is only a multi-user mode, and has nothing to do with the work profile!

Could you share with us how you managed that ?
I myself am unsuccessful installing Island because the work profile cannot be created....
