Welcome to The Overcome Experience - 10.1 Edition . For those of you that don’t know me, let me introduce myself. I am AlterBridge86, the creator of The Overcome Experience. I started developing a ROM on the OG Galaxy Tab (P1000) about 9 months ago and have moved on to having my own brand of ROM’s, Kernels, and Recoverys. The Galaxy Tab 10.1 (P7510) is the second device now to get a “Overcome Series” ROM, however it will most definitely not be the last.
My mission is simple. I aim to vastly improve the stock user experience on Samsung devices. I think that Samsung makes fantastic hardware, however fails to bring the same level of software quality to their devices. This is where I step in. I take the base rom, as provided by Samsung, and perform further optimization and modification to it. My mods aim not to completely customize the user interface, but rather add some very useful key functionality while retaining the “stock android” look.

About Overcome CWM Recovery
At its core, Overcome CWM Recovery v4.1.1.5 is the traditional ClockworkMod Recovery v4.0.1.5. However, I have heavily modified the interface layout as well as added some very helpful functionality. You will notice this as soon as you enter recovery. I urge you to peruse the recovery and check out the options available to you. You will get to use some of these options during the install following our thorough guide.
Install Instructions
If you have some form of CWM on your device already, simply download the ROM, and install zip through CWM. Be sure to wipe data to ensure a clean install!
If you do NOT have CWM on your device already or you want to start completely fresh, I STRONGLY urge you to read the excellent guide that we have put together to fully "restock" your system and get Overcome installed
If you already have Overcome 10.1 Series v1.0.0 installed, you can use the updater zip found in the downloads section of the website. This is a small zip that will update only the changed files, leaving all your data in tact.

Hey alter, is there a custom kernel in this already? I see you mention kernel features, but its blank. I wasn't sure if ti was blank because its not done yet and not implemented, or it ia implemented but you just didn't finish getting the sources together.

Wow Alter, this is brilliant - I was a fan of yours on the previous Tab !! I've since moved to the 10.1 - it is great to see more ROMs coming here !! Just got a question whether there will be a version for the 3G model (7500).

Looks like a great rom for a great device. Could you perhaps support pershoots kernel as it is already heavily optimized and I would like to use the combination of your rom with his kernel.

Using the stock kernel ensures that users get the most reliable and well-performing installation. Once the new TOuchwiz UX source is released, I will begin work on an Overcome Kernel for the Galaxy Tab 10.1

As we all know,we had an amazing aokp port by thathanhlam66.But for some reason he had discontinued it.The link for his thread goes here.
I love aokp and hence I decided to port a new aokp rom from a different device.I found a very nice rom to port,which is for Samsung Galaxy Fit.This rom is developed by Ravi H Basawa.

V4 onwards its ported from Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini,Its a ROM by Stelio97,and here is the link for the original ROM.
I have removed almost all unnecessary apps and tried to make it as light as possible.As I'm not a developer at all so bugfixing might take a long time or might not get fixed at all.I would appreciate if anyone has any help to offer.This my first attempt to make a full port so kindly bear with me.

Few tips for better performance.
Overclock at 710-352 values with smartassv2 governor for the balance between performance and battery life.
For video recording,download videocam illusion from play store.
for trackball wake,
-download 'terminal emulator' from play store.
-type 'su' without quotes.
-allow superuser rights when asked
-type 'trackballwake' again without quotes.
-reboot.
Custom MTD users can set values 160 10 for the maximum internal memory we could get.This rom takes around 155Mb space on system partition along with gapps.

Yes it does.All you need to do is download 'terminal emulator' from play store.

Jordfazs cm9 is again based on ErwinP's so jordfaz's cm9 has the same or more bugs than ErwinP's.

Yes,you can always use custom MTD partitions to increase internal memory.This rom takes about 155mb on system partition,so I would recommend 160 10 mtd values.

Well i downloaded from the other mirror and the file was valid this time..
The ROM is visually very appealing :good:
Couple of observations which I have:
1. I am not able to browse sites using the included browser; it always says that cannot connect to network while other applications like FB are working fine
EDIT: This got resolved with step 2 below
2. ROM often lags a little.. I am on default kernel.. will be flashing boeffla and check
EDIT: I removed all unwanted apps, like Action Notes, Flash Annotation, SNote, SPen, Magazine, etc... Rebooted the phone and there is no lag so far (after 12 hours that is)
3. WiFi tends to disconnect often... everytime requires manally to forget and add the connection again..
EDIT: this still happens.. No issues with WiFi.. Looks like the bloat I was deleting as in 2 above, some removed component was causing the issue.. this time I removed bloat at a higher level and all is fine..
4. Battery life is good. I am on boeffla kernel with pegaseq default profile. With 1 hr of screen time, I am still left wit 84% battery

Very nice and stable rom. I've been using for 3 days, I am very pleased. Play Group is able to do with the video sharing. Also check the settings can be made with one hand. Status Bar was very nice. Thank you.

I flashed this rom yesterday. For the first day it's a perfect rom. Works stable.
But I have to use my pda with this rom for at least 1 week to be sure.
But as i said at first look it's perfect.

is this mk1 or mk6 modem??? can you tell us some more about the rom

Absolutely beautiful
This Rom is the first one that I have seen, where almost everything from note III was ported, and everything works, from new multi-window (with all its new sweet tricks), to new font, design improvements etc...expect a lot of software goodies with whis one. Stable and works great so far. Expect higher RAM usage because of everything here, but with greenified installed, everything is smooth. If only note III camera app interface can be ported, everything would be complete.
Been looking a long time for something like this. Gems like this restore faith in further development for GS3. Please keep working and refining this beautiful ROM, thank you very much developer!

you're right, the modem is MK6, you can flash MK1

Works just fine! I really like it. Can you please make a zip for the transparent Accuweather? I uninstall it by accident and i dont want to make hole set up again... Thanks in advance!

I'm considering "buying" this pro version, but I have a question, could you implement quick pin unlock in your next release? Thanks in advance.

There a way I can remove the ks8 logo from the status bar in v7? To me it's not attractive and I like a clean status bar. I'm using the kings rom mod apk from v2 since all the features like removing data flow and battery bar disabled are disabled for selection on v5 and up.
Anyways hope someone can help me here.

Kingrommods app is inside king rom, just select modded system ui and will be installed. No need to download it

I know but what I'm saying is I have the apk extracted from v2. The kingsrommod apk from v2 since its got settings I like. I deleted the one from v7 which I'm on now and I've swapped them out basically. My problem is I didn't save v7 and I really don't want to re-do my phone again all over...takes me like 30 mins to set up fully since I manually debloat and ad custom stuff etc.

Just extract it from the zip of v7, but why you use your from v2 that have less mods and is builded for old version? I can't understain

V7 has settings I like to use locked fo4 pro purchase only...that is why I use v2.
I went ahead and re-flashed the rom and I found the removal settings for the logo however it requires me to have the pro feature which I don't have and can't afford to get..Please find me a solution to this issue. I'm unsure why you would require pro status of the app for features that are free in all other versions of your rom prior to v5. I use:
Hide battery bar
Disable data flow from status bar
And another one I can't think of

Great rom otherwise and I like the speed of it. Reminds me of twist3d rom from the s5. Only drawback is the forced logo in the status bar.

Remove my systemUI and put stock deodexed systemUI in set permissions reboot. Not sure why you would want stock though

Ok,thxx i will try u.u and will be whaiting the stock

I always find an icon that's what I want and stick with it.
My setup is very close to aosp which I will be on until pie release and I can work on real aosp ROMs.
