Official custom recovery for Nokia 6, built from source by me.
Yes that's right, another TWRP for our Nokia 6, tested on my TA-1021. Of course, you must have unlocked bootloader for this to work.
Mine's the newest version, 3.2.3-0. And it's in English, too
Downloads are here: https://twrp.me/nokia/nokia6.html , and the device tree you can find below. Install via fastboot or from TWRP if you already have the chinese version installed.

Thanks a lot! However, have you ever tried to downgrade the bootloader and flash it to Oreo?

I was thinking about that, but does the Oreo boot.img work with nougat bootloader? If it does, that could solve some problems

Yes, that's what I've tested before.
In fact, the homebrew "Stock" firmware I released before replaced the service bootloader from Nougat, and bootable. The only problem that booting Chinese TWRP 3.1.1-0 from it is the data can't be mounted.
Yesterday I also made and tested the Homebrew Android 8.1 firmware from leaked OTA packages. (Firmware version: D1C-5550-0-00CN-B01)
I'm uploading homebrew "Stock" firmware 522A for TA-1021 (Codename PLE) with service bootloader replaced. You can easily gain access of partition flashing with a single command once this firmware flashed - or just hack the updater-script in OTA packages released before flashing.

fastboot oem dm-verity [md5 checksum of your phone's serial number]

Yes, I've read about that.

so for now, the only way to flash is downgrade to nougat?

Thanks for this. Flashed on my ta-1033 and it appears to work well! I'll abuse it properly over the weekend and see if anything breaks.

Did you close OST LA after flashing and do format data procedure? You must format userdata in fastboot first, then TWRP.

I found your recovery still can't mount data with Android O. @xinkid is working on it.

Yes, I noticed the same. I guess we need newer kernel and/or different crypto binaries.
Have you been able to root Oreo yet? All of my attempts failed.

I see you have a TA-1021. The homebrew oreo firmware made by hikari_calyx does not get flashed with OST LA 6.0.4. Maybe you gonna help us root Oreo some other way.

It is probably Global Beta 6.7.21, that was for short uploaded on MIUI forum by mistake. It was removed few minutes later. It is MM rom but only for developers internal testing.
If it's 6.7.21 Beta, ROM cannot be updated to later Beta versions (OTA is not supported)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-3/development/mm-global-dev-6-7-21-fastboot-rom-t3423895
Thanks a lot Naphtha.
Btw
Can you provide us a zip which can be flashed from the recovery? That would be really great.
Fastboot is too much trouble and will probably lock bootloader.

Yes and yes. Read the other threads/boards on here. Root/boot unlock is fine for MHA-AL00 devices, which means it will work for VKY-AL00 devices - I know this because I've boot unlocked and installed TWRP using a MHA-L29 guide for my VKY-L29 phone (P10 Plus). Only problem is, it's not "proper" system-editing ROOT, so no point rooting the phone just yet.
I'm yet to have 1 person explain to me the benefits of rooting without being able to edit the android system files.

Hmm, okay. Just debating trading my S8 for this phone as I don't know if Snapdragon will ever see root. Yeah, root does seem kind of pointless if it's not system-editing... Think this would ever see AOSP?
Fantastic Work ! I just wanted to pop in and say thank you. Looking forward to the next revision when hopefully you have cracked it fully so we can backup the Data section.

Will there be a possibility of being able to backup the Data partition anytime soon ?

Flashed the new TWRP but data backup still fails and when trying to reboot into system the phone will hang and you have to force phone shutdown. Reverting to previous recovery for now
Yes data encryption is still not working but reboot into system works fine.
I will delete the file. Sorry for my bad idea

You have to press the power button when that corruption message appears; then plug the phone into your PC after the Linux Penguin is displayed and it should eventually start booting into the ROM. Credit to @WesTD for the solution.

Sure thing...too buggy.
It's only a too premature, " never had to be leaked " ROM.
There's only one guy who received this "update" imo and too risky (relative ofcourse) to continue on this ROM.
So imo better to be on a stable rom as MF5.0 then on unstable MF5.2 oreo i guess AND wait for a FULL WORKING release by ZTE itself.
This ROM is are unuseful for now. There are too many bugs. No sound on calling on my U model.
I'll wait for Oreo on U devices. I think it will be better on MiFavor 4.2

Please search it in the tarp thread, I don't use Windows to work with.
I somehow was able to used the latest Google and drivers because I somehow deactivated the driver verification of windows 10. :silly:

Question Lineage 20 for Pixel 7 - Panther

Ok guys per request i will post my personal Pixel 7 lineage rom . Is update to december and it has the minimal gapps built inline . I will call it Beta but all i use daily is working for me . I know face unlock is not working because never add the commits . It wont pass the safety net unless rooted but again i dont use it , also all apps from play-store are working . Maybe will update maybe not will see . Cheetah is booting too but apps is force close and cant fix now because i dont got the device . So please dont ask a lot of questions ! Installing is simple , be on December , wipe factory default from recovery and fastboot update the name.zip .

Yes
hi, is it possible to have builds without gapps built in?
will this work on january update?
I don't want to do a full wipe. It would be nice to have a ROM like the one from November, which you can simply install in recovery. Too bad it probably won't be available any time soon.

This is exciting. How's the battery life? I'm not too impressed with the stock ROM battery performance. I unlocked my bootloader just waiting to hear some feedback before I try it.

Will update tonight .
Updated to January ........
I appreciate the work! I've downloaded your updated build, bootloader is unlocked & ready to flash,,, Just not sure how to flash it (I'm good at following directions). I really haven't done much flashing since the Galaxy S5 & S6, and that was with Odin. I'm guessing with the Pixel 7 it's done with some fastboot commands and pretty simple, just don't know the procedure.

Bootloader is already unlocked. So just one command "fastboot -w update name_of_rom.zip" ? Do I need to factory reset before I boot or anything?
There are flashing instructions on this, the command I supplied is wrong, my mistake Its a build for Panther and Cheetah, ive used his roms in the past and can vouch for them
[ROM][UNOFFICIAL][cheetah/panther] LineageOS 20.0 for the Pixel 7 Pro/7
LineageOS 20.0 for the Pixel 7 Pro (cheetah) and Pixel 7 (panther). Known issues: NOTE: This is an early-stage build, and may not be the most stable. It works fine for me as a daily driver on a Pixel 7 (panther), however. The status bar is...

*EDIT" Just tap power & up keys for half a second. I was long pressing them.
How do I boot into recovery from fastboot? I can select " Recovery mode" but it boots a dead android and under it says "no command" . I'm just doing a dry run, I don't feel like bricking my phone. I'm stuck on step "8." of the link you sent.
