Project: Exynos-Linux-Stable- Exynos-Linux-Stable is an organisation on GitLab & GitHub containing upstreamed linux for some of the latest flagship handset from SAMSUNG like the S7, S7E, S8, S8+, Note 8, S9, S9+, Note 9 kernel upstreamed to be inline with respective linux branches.
What does this bring?
- All of the devices mentioned above uses Long Term Support (LTS) releases, they are like old softwares.
- LTS releases are supported through their specified support duration by security updates, bug fixes, backports, and new device drivers, just like a regular release.
So updating or up-streaming your device's kernel brings many improvements talking security, performance wise etc...
How do I use?
If you are a developer, the reference tree is located in the exynos-linux-stable organization: https://github.com/exynos-linux-stable
This can either be merged into your existing kernel tree if you have one or be used as a fresh base. You do not need my permission to use it nor do you need to give me credit (although it would be appreciated).
If you are a user, ask your kernel developer KINDLY to use this source for his kernel that has all the changes added in!

DEVS ! IF you found that there is maybe a room to fix some things or improve a code quality than you are welcomed to push them into their respective trees, i will check them and merge with source.
Notes about upstreaming conflicts,
**Resetted drivers to their CRAP source (Some of them had have been patched manually to catch up with the missing and compatible commits from upstream, i will explain it below):
1--- drivers/iommu/exynos-iommu.c this commit doesn't fit in, reset back to it's original state (based on ARCC source)
Notes: ( Applied with some slightly changes)
2--- drivers/net/usb/r8152.c Had some conflicts, check for commit message in source for more info.

- G96XFXXU1ARCC source merged in.
- Linux 4.9.93 merged in.

Awesome!
Could you provide a Stock Kernel for download? (With ARCC sources and RKP, KAP,.. disabled) @farovitus

I am not going to do kernels for s9/s9+, but ELS is here with source also with RKP, KAP, root restrictions disabled.
So you can fork it build it yourself.

- 4.9.94 has been merged in.
Also a critical update has been merged into the exynos-linux-stable for starlte tree. PLEASE UPDATE!
Brief on the update:
- 4.9.93 introduced some new patches related to KTPI and what's related which causes panic on splash screen (freeze).
- 4.9.68 introduced some patches related to dma-buf, basic result was random reboot whenever you unlock the phone. I did then with help of @SoLdieR9312 at testing to fix that issue with reverting 4 commits but again there was another report about AOD having a lag (when clock jump from a position to another). At the end we came to a conclusion that the stock drivers in dma-buf fixed an AOD lagging bug. If you want more info about those 4 commits and you wanna try something out pm me.
Conclusion: ELS for starlte (S9/S9+) is now fully stable and working just as all other ELS projects.

Switched to android-4.9-o, thanks @AndreiLux for pointing out.
Brief of this update:
- Completely rebased starlte tree, android-4.9-o & 4.9.96 merged in.
- Solved an issue were we previously had to revert some 4.9.93 KTPI related patches in order to make the device bootable.
Finally, thanks to @SoLdieR9312 & @msdx321 for testing latest changes in the rebased tree.

- 4.9.97 has been merged in.
- Others changes which you can find more info about in starlte tree.

CyanogenMod is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
Code:
***************************************************************************************************
I take no responsibility for lost data, broken devices or anything else you encountered
during/after flashing this ROM.
You are responsible for what you are using on your devices!
And if you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you. Hard. A lot.
Do some research before doing anything and always make sure to have a backup!
***************************************************************************************************
CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. You will need to provide your own Google Applications package (gapps). CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for CyanogenMod is available in the CyanogenMod Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to CyanogenMod, please visit our Gerrit Code Review.
Here is the official Cyanogenmod changelog for i9300
So what are the main diferences between this one and the official one?
- Kernel build with UBER-TC 5.3.1
- ROM build with SaberMod-TC 4.9.4
- O3 , Graphite optimizations and some extra flags for kernel to improve performance
- JustArchi's ArchiDroid Optimizations V4.1 for CyanogenMod
Optimizations made by RC-RD @JustArchi , Here you can find all about it. and thanks to @Vynikal who added the fixes to make it run on 13.0
- use kCollectorTypeHSpaceCompact for ART [ Experimental ]
HSPACE COMPACT may free more virtual and physical memory , its similar to Kernel Same-page Merging but its used for ROM.
- SQLite updates from UBERMALLOWhttps://github.com/UBERMALLOW
Download:
Latest Version : cm-13.0-20160319-RPDROKY-i9300
- JustArchi's optimizations temporaly disabed cuz they cause errors with SaberMod, til il try to fix them , basic -O3 optimizations wil be used
- CM source updated

I'l let the ROM 4.9.4 atm , as soon as i find a way to add the support for 5.3.1 il go for it
Well guyz ,il drop this project , i can't find any way to improve this builds , no feedbacks , no ideas , no reports , i guess uber cm13 ain't for everyone so i will keep it offline
Cheers
Sounds disappointed. But look: there are official CM13 and 9 clones, all fighting with the same bugs (wifi not awakes, high battery drain...) and Temasek's is also an Uber compilation. Maybe too few differences. Nevertheless thanks for your efforts.

nice to hear this from u but i think u should not surrender so fast ........
This isn't gaining much support because very slight changes are seen. Try building a ROM with Archi's optimization. That might gain some attention.

Welcome to Kermit Kernel.
Kermit Kernel is intended to be installed on AOSP and uses Anykernel2 to do so. I wanted to share my work with all of you and also provide a smooth, customisation experience for you. This project was inspired by kylothow's work on AOSP and Kernels and big thanks to him for helping me in the beginning!

FEATURES
- Based on DQIC Sources
- Powersuspend 1.7
- Asynchronious Fsync from HTC
- Blu_Active with modifications and such
- Boeffla Wakelock Blocker
- djb77's latest toolchain optimised for our devices
- Turn CRC off or on
- Init.d is supported
- Max and Min Frequencies for both CPU big and little have been increased
- Iron-active and Wheatley Governers
- A LOT of under the hood stuff for your user experience
I can take requests of course, don't be shy
I just want the kernel to be in favour of what seems good by users!
What is Anykernel?
You can skip this if you don't want to know how it works.
Kernels tend to have a fully built boot image ready, it just flashes everything and it may not PATCH the necassary files. This means you're gonna have to create a different boot image for different roms such S8 Ports, Note FE Ports and AOSP ROMS. Things such as compatibility maybe an issue also because new things may not be supported by old things (Newer RAMDISK on an older ROM).
That's when Anykernel comes into play. It only includes the zImage (actual prebuilt kernel), dtb (the instructions for hardware stuff), and patches used ontop of the stock ramdisk. It takes the previous/stock kernel, replaces dtb and zImage and then continues to patch the ramdisk. Voila, it's done. It makes it easier for the devs to work on the kernel and has better compatibility! It does come with it's disadvantages, It can't be flashed ontop of other custom kernels that have modifications in the ramdisk. The patch and ramdisk will cause some trouble because there interefering with each other alright!

How do I install this?
If you already have AOSP with it's stock kernel.
1) Reboot into recovery and flash it like normal
If you have AOSP with a custom kernel like PRIME, Prophecy or Primal.
1) Go to the AOSP ZIP you installed, extract boot.img from there.
2) Boot into recovery, flash the boot image. Don't forget to switch the option from ZIP to IMG if you can't find it in the directory you extracted it from.
3) Then go back to home screen in recovery, and go flash Excel Kernel
I really don't need to explain this in detail and such because if you got here it mean's you know how to install AOSP ROMS. It's pretty simple.

CarbonROM is an aftermarket firmware based on the Android Open Source Project. We are dedicated to fast, stable, and feature-filled roms, honesty and communication with our users, and openness with our code. We like frequent builds, with the very latest and greatest hardware support and fixes. We strive to not only provide you with the best rom we can build, but also to give back to the Android community and our fellow developers. For us, this is about creating something we can be proud of and hope you will enjoy.
Please feel free to look, build, and use our code at CarbonROM's GitHub... and at CarbonROM Gerrit.

Support:
We spend an astonishing amount of time developing this software. We can't spend much time on XDA as a result, so if you need support, please try the following:
1) Search. Search, search, search. Yes, you. I don't care how unique or important your question is, it's very likely someone has adressed it already. Especially if you're even close to new at this.
2) Read our FAQ, which can be found on our website. Carbon FAQ
3) Ask a question in your device forum. Someone will no doubt try to help you. Warning: this help may come in the form of telling you it's a dumb question that has been asked before. See step 1 - such are the perils of asking questions when you haven't done the research yourself. Android is about helping yourself.
4) Join our Discord server! There, you can connect with other Carbon users and our developers, and you can get quicker responses to your bug reports. The invite link is right below.
We recommend MindTheGApps. OpenGApps should work, but please make sure you clearly mention the gapps you're using when reporting bugs.

Thank you so much for the ROM!
But where can I find the list of features of this ROM? Maybe I'm so stupid I coundn't find it anywhere.
And if anyone has tried this ROM, how you feel about it, I mean about battery life, stock cam, substratum working or not?

You should try it out. Keep in mind this is aosp based so there you won't get any lineage goodies in but you'll get a buttery smooth experience out of it.
battery life? It depends how you use it. It should be as good as any other ROM out there.

Well elytraOS source is still in development but what i meant with "discontinued" is that i won't publish public builds anymore and well that's due to the lack of time from my side and my exams in few days
Hi @idfkwhattoputhere, the link to the kernel source gets a 404 error. Do you have an updated working link? Also, from your most recent post (and thread title) here it seems you won't have time to support on XDA anymore. Please confirm if this is still the case.
Thank you,
@roirraW "edor" ehT
Edit: <Moderator Note>: All links removed due to non-working kernel source link. OP, PM me if you want to fix things so this thread can be reinstated. Thanks.
