Q: How to change Oreo rounded icons on mate 10 Pro? - Huawei Mate 10 Themes, Apps, and Mods

I am using p20 Pro icons on my mate 10 Pro. But lots of app shapes are rounded. I think its about android Oreo. Is there any way to change their icon shapes like emui stock mask?
Sorry for my English.

emui-theme-editor. you can change a lot of things, but you need to download and start using a theme downloaded, not installed. I use it on my mate 10 pro and it's fantastic ?

I already have it. I just want to change third party software icons. Because i love so much this P20 stock icons. So when i change the icons for example Whatsapp, İnstagram, Twitter, PLay Store etc. I have to import them any another iconpack which i already installed. This time icon sizes are different from stock. bigger or smaller

I know, but you can change the dimension in the app ?

use launcher pro ..you can get it from the market..it automatically gives frames to the icons wen you click it..or MIUI rom gives permanent frames..more like the apple iphone icons!
U could do that with lp? I never found that but please report back how.
I currently use go launcher that, if u use an icon theme like classic or suave (which I highly raccomend), does just that to all the icons that are not supported by the theme directly.
It's actually a really good launcher but my favorite remains lp.

[Q] Sense launcher

Currenly using ARHD along with Nova Launcher as I like a bit of desktop customisation and more features.
That being said, I have liked Sense since 5 was released a few years back, I even liked Sense 4 but looking back the UI seemed a bit too cartoonish. Good in the day I guess!!
Curious to know what other folks do when it comes to using Sense 6, are they using the native launcher or going for a thirdy party launcher to get that additional customisation.
Reason I'm using Nova is the option to install icon packs, assign individual icons per app, change grid dimensions, icon sizes etc.
Is any of this possible with the latest Sense launcher by use of mods?
Thanks.

Xposed module Xtended Settings.. With that, u can do ALL of the above to the BlinkFeed launcher and then some. It's basically Xgels for Sense but with way more options ... Give it a go, it honestly makes BlinkFeed just as customizable as Nova, and even more... Theme status bar, softkeys (if u use them) , animations , etc.

It can change icons individually, for example I could set icons for the dock and differents icons on the desktop area? Resize them?
Thanks.

Nope, not currently. As of right now, just different icon packs, not individual icons. However,if u use wizardcut, u can do that on any launcher, including BlinkFeed... Not only that, but u can also layer and mix and match different icons together(for example, u can move 1 icon on top of the background of another icon to create a new icon) or just assign individual icons to individual apps n it sets them on your launcher... Good app on play store... Also ,desktop visualizer does this.

Any Launcher for Play with badges/dots ?

I’ve just bought a honor play, upgraded to EMUI pie 9
I would like to CHANGE the deafult LAUNCHER in honor play,
with something like pixel 3 launcher with badges/DOTS,
I really hate having all the apps being spread around the desktop, without any drawer to be opened to fit them all...
BUT
1) I tried rootless Launcher.
The EMUI system blocks the apps, saying it is behaving incorrectly and must be removed (it is not even possible to open it)
2) tried ADW+ ADW plug in.
The dots are NOT shown. I try to open the plugin to configure the apps with dots, but it doesn’t open.
4) tried Poco launcher
The dots are NOT shown
5) tried Nova launcher,
I’m doubting to by the pro version (with dots) fearing that Nova too will not be capable of using dots as all the others.
Does anyone of you succeeded in installing another launcher with DOTS/badges ?
Which one and how ??
I read that Huawei/honor blocked for Chinese market the possibility to change the launcher.
Did they now lock also the EU smartphones ?
In this situation the smartphone seem so limited....
Thanks in advance
Dots and badges etc work fine in Nova premium.
Nova premium works just fine
Nova Launcher Prime works fine for me as well.
Another plus for Nova Prime here. Using the dots myself. Think you need the Tesla Unread add on downloaded for it to work too.

Hi all,
I puchased the Nova Pro, and found badge working (with count number)
Sideloading googleNow apk, the google home page (right swipe) works too.
BUT
I found that TABS are NOT WORKING in main drawer.
Did I do something wrong, or is a Honor EMUI bug ?
Created the tabs, enabled the tab bar, but no tab is displayed.

Should I open a new thread for this problem ?

You have made folders, but do you have tabs?

You can use 3 apps from playstore:
- Huawei themes (a themes gallery)
- Themes for Honor & Huawei (another themes gallery)
- Theme editor (and you can create an .hwt icon pack with any icon pack on the playstore)

can you link theme editor?
I have installed this one:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=emui.en.com.gpix2
It works with dark mode and it looks enough like stock to make me happy.
Thanks for linking.
The Theme-App automatically closes as soon as it is started on my P30 Pro (EMUI 9.1.0.136).
Any ideas?

Replace icons on stock launcher

Last year I was able to change the icons on stock touchwiz launcher on my S10 ( which I already sold ) using icon packs from playstore.
I've actually forgotten where the tutorial for that process is and have used google to search but not having any luck. If I'm not mistaken, it was from a xda thread.
If somebody knows or any other way of installing icon packs without using 3rd party launcher, your help is much appreciated.
Thanks
wat?! One UI can change icon without 3rd party launcher
There are icon packs in the Galaxy Store. You enter the Galaxy store, on the bottom menu bar select My Galaxy and there you have all the icon packs. Like hundreds of icon packs.

Yep. Are you a first time samsung user?
Found what I was looking for, but unfortunately it looks like support is only up to Android 9 which the S10 came with.
Update: Still works with Android 10 and as far as I can tell will support the upcoming Android 11 according to the devs. But can't make it work on mine because I'm enrolled with Google's Advance Protection.
Try searching hex installer in the play store. It lets you customize icon shapes and what not and existing themes as well from the Galaxy store - all while using the stock launcher. I'm using hex with the pixelize theme and it's working great! Hope this helps!

It's all you need.
Choose theme (the native high contrast ones work well)>choose Galaxy store icon pack>pick a wallpaper you like.
Use the Galaxy store Goodlock family of apps including One handed Operation plus for even more customization options.
No 3rd party launcher needed... or even desirable. One UI is an excellent launcher.
