Call recorders won't work on rooted MT7-TL10 - Ascend Mate 7 Themes and Apps

Hello all,
I have recently updated my MT7 to Android 6.0 B560, and it's currently rooted, but none of the call recorders work, all record silence, meaning it appears that calls were recorded, but when I play them on any player they're empty, just silence for the whole duration of the call.
This was the case even before I updated it, it was also rooted, but call recorders used to work until a few months ago where none was working.
Any idea what's causing this? Or how to fix it?

[q] call recorder

hi.
i was looking for a automatic call recorder application for the last couple of days but nothing was working on the milestone.
i need something that does not turn the speakerphone when doing the recording.
everything i found was either not working or crashed.
can you recomend anything?
thanks.
Apparently direct recording is not possible. Only the "from speaker into microphone" kind is available.
Unfortunately this is not possible on our milestones. I dont know exactly why, but probably something in the moto Kernel that prevent us from doing that.

In call sound problem

I have in call sound problems.
When I reboot I can sometimes place one call without problems for as long as I want.
Other calls after that I have no sound, can't hear the call tone and other parties can't hear me.
Also incoming calls, i hear the phone ring but when i answer the other party can't hear me and i can't hear the other party.
The settings for sounds in the accessibility menu and noise reduction etc were off and stayed off. (other forum tips)
I also tried numerous factory resets with no avail
Can someone give me a hint how to fix it?
I have stock 4.2.2 International version of the S4 Active.
Baseband I9295XXUBMK2
Build JDQ39.I9295XXUBMK2
Kernel 3.4.0-2015525
Headset
I tried a different option. I can call with my bluetooth headset.
When i switch to speaker the in call sound drops. giong back to headset will not activate in call sound.
Same Here
The same happens to me. Only the bluetooth option works every time. I have tried several firmware and kernel versions and nothing has changed.
There is a workaround that I could find but it is totally impractical: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2371034
In forums for models / ROMs with a lot more users than this one (Nexus / CM) people with 4.2.2-based firmware versions there are many posts describing what could seems to be the exact same problem, which they have been able to fix via baseband updates or custom patches, but that does not really seems to be an option for the S4 Active...

Same problem with my SGS4A. I was on i9295XXUBMK2, tried to update using the phone update option, which rendered my phone unusable. Flashed new stock ROM i9295XXUBMK3, now I can use the phone, although sound problem persists.
Making a call: reboot, call
Receiving a call: answer, hang-up, reboot, call back
Anyone with 4.3 that has this problem on SGS3, SGS4 or SGS4A?
Edit 21.8.2014
I had the speaker changed last week and so far no problems. I am slowly getting confident that I can rely on S4A as a phone also, not just tiny surf tablet.
I have same phone, never got this pb. However I got some SD card issues after updating to KitKat...
Partial solution... for me at least
Hi guys ,
having same issue, disabling 4G option solves my problem. But it-s impractic cause I want to use the 4g... in a huawei phone I solved same issue by disabling an option of "mobile data always on"
Don't know how it's related...
Same issue for me. I made lots of research with no results. Nobody knows...
same problem here with no solution yet

same problem with in call and out call .... searched a lot about solution and no solution yet
I had a similar issue with bluetooth calls. First call would be fine, but after that I couldn't hear the other person on the line and they couldn't hear me. It turned out to be some kind of incompatibility with the Google "OK Google" detection with Galaxy S4-based phones. If I disabled it from detecting "From any screen", this seemed to correct the problem. However the setting might return on application updates. I would recommend trying that and see if it makes a difference. If it's not that, then I don't really know how to help you. I moved on from that phone over a year ago and have been happier ever since.

Samsung Note 9 SM-N960W Call Recorder

Hi there, I just got my pie update last night and now my call recorder app is no longer working. The app I am using is by SKVALEX. It had worked flawlessly until the pie update last night and I guess I have two questions. Question 1 is are there any apps that do good quality call recording picking up both ends of the call? And if not does anyone know if it will ever be possible after this point? Google and Samsung and many other phone companies seem to be restricting things more and more which isn't right when you pay a lot of money for a phone and it's only good for a year. Anyway if somebody has an answer for me it would be greatly appreciated.
Here is a link to the app I had been using, I'm going to attempt to write the developer and see what he says as well.

Not on Pie without root
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-9/help/workaround-call-recording-root-t3895793
As for the elimination, announced in advance, about Pie in giving permissions to call recorders to work, always using even now the ACR app that I used with Oreo, and it still works even if the only issue having now is a lower volume of the voice of my interlocutor and not with my voice using the mic. In settings of the app, automatic source for recording and volume of recording level raised to plus 20 dB. No root required.

Enable call waiting

Hi,
So I have a problem with my P30 pro, since the beginning actually.
Whenever i am on a Phone call, all other calls goes straight to voice mail. No notications, No missed calls.
I have enabled the call waiting feature, even disable and enabled. Still not working.
Basically 100 people can call me while i am on a Phone call, and i have No idea.
This is super annyoing as this i Also my work Phone.
I am using the same sim card i used on my Samsung S8, then the call waiting feature was working fine.
Having the same problem. Not working call waiting, whatever i do.

Call recording without root?

Call recording is important to me. In the past I've always rooted my phones and used @skvalex's app which is amazing.
For the first time, I'm considering not rooting because I want Google Pay and system updates to work smoothly. I know there are workarounds but they seem like a lot of trouble.
Has anyone found a good solution to record calls on the pixel without root?
I have the US version directly from Google.
Thanks!
The "workarounds" work well if you set it up correctly. It does indeed take some time to understand but once you know how, it's very simple to do it again later on.
Without root, you can only use call recorders that just record through the mic.
Only with root you can record both sides. I can also vouch for skvalex's app. I paid for the premium and never regret. It even records bluetooth calls both side.
and what is the workaround if i may ask?
It requires installing the skyvalex magisk module. The compromise is that you have to un-root with magisk to apply the monthly updates, but it's no big deal once you get used to it.
The one thing to be aware of is that phone calls made over wifi can not be recorded by any of the recorder programs so you need to make sure that wifi calling is off when you want to record.

I literally just bought a pixel for recording with wifi calling because people said it worked when you're rooted. Are you saying even with root, you cant record wifi calling?

I recommended trying it out. On my Motorola phones, the Skvalex module did record wifi calls with the recording source set to "uplink+downlink"
Small update to those who are coming here afterwards:
I decided not to root after all, because to my surprise, I tried ACR Cube Call recorder from the play store, and on both cellular AND wifi calling, it's able to record both sides of the conversation! I was under the assumption that on most phones this wasn't possible. The quality isn't even that bad either..a little noise, but the volume of both parties is good, unlike my Galaxy S9+ which would record the other person at low volume, and only on cellular.
I am really happy about this since I dont have to worry about root and safetynet and all that BS. I should have the option, though.
FYI, I'm running my Pixel 4a 5G Unlocked, on Android 11, Security update March 5, 2021.

I've had good results with ACR. It can also handle WhatsApp and other app based calls.
One thing to keep in mind is that it will not work if you use a Bluetooth headset.
