Is SF based group available to flash 8.1 ROM onto X727? - LeEco Le Pro3 Themes, Apps, and Mods

I just bought a Hauwaei Mate 9, running 8.1. Love it. Previous phone is Le Eco Pro 3, X727, and running 6.01, but which I plan to use as backup, experimental phone. Would like to flash 8.1 to bring up to modern standards.
Although technological advanced, don't feel confident in following instructions to flash phone, without bricking, since never done it. Wondering if there is a SF based group that could help install 8.0 ROM for Le Eco Pro 3?
AS LINUX PC builds became more relevant, groups sprang up around SF where they had get togethers with experienced people, who had files & would help in person to INSTALL. Idea being to spread religion.
Given SF being tech hub, wondering if similar phone groups are around? Being a photographer, happy to trade technology information.
XDA wonderful resource, gotten great information, but may need hand holding to flash new ROM onto Le Eco Pro 3.
Thanks in advance.

As far as phones go this one is pretty easy to do almost as easy as a Nexus or Pixel. If there is a phone to learn it sounds like this might be the one.

If you do not find someone local, feel free to PM me.
I will be happy to setup the phone for you. We have four of these phones in our household So if you want to talk feel free to send me a PM and we can discuss and I can provide assurances and references to alleviate being wary of sending to a stranger your property through the internet.
If you send it, It will just take a few hours and it will go back into the mail to you the same day. I can provide all of my details in a Private message, as well as references.. I am also located in the US. if you decide that you are not interested thats okay. I understand and will still still help you with instructions.

Very generous of you.
Assume PM is XDA messages services, which I can use to contact you? Be happy to send it to you for upgrade, although would be interested in learning how also.
Will contact. How do I use PM?

Thanks. Appreciate reassuring. XDA has been great to me, so all you senior members have given me trust.
Amazing the generosity of members. Gives me hope.
Like the photo community, people who love it want to help others. Show them tricks, make using technology even more useful.
Look forward to making contact, upgrading Pro 3 to 8.0 and then feeding back to XDA my experience.

New online social community for gadgets and phones

Hey guys check this out. Social networking site for gadgets and phones we worked for years is now live. I'd love to hear any feedback so we can improve our site to give you a fun and better experience. Your feedback is very much appreciated either if it is positive or negative.
www.taketake.com
What do you guys think of the site?
Add a forum section for people who need help tips or have problems with their gadgets.. ohh wait, that's what xda is for also, add it to taptalk, I'll try it then
Another thing 'unlocking cool badges after gaining point'- for motivation to get the best one, to make it competetive? Don't think that older people would be intrested, and I am only 16. But you know, everyone has their own 2 pence to add there are more opinions out there.

Sweet site desing man! Looks great! Honestly! I think I'll check it out a bit more now...
Edit: Ok I've had a good look around so I'm ready to offer feedback firstly, the site design if clean and simple! Great! Keep that UI consistent across the whole site and it will be a winner. I'm finding Facebook too cluttered, and this is simple and elegant!
This will really work well as a concept if it takes off, so you need as many users as possible. I'll help out by tipping some of those sites. Other readers here on XDA, if you like the idea, I suggest you do the same This could be really handy when buying new gadgets, and maybe even save all these experience threads on XDA.
It needs re organization and more information but congrats on your efforts

Thanks for the feedback! We did everything to make the UI clean and simple so users will not be confused. Comparing us to Facebook is an honor since Facebook is very established and almost all people around the globe is using it.
Technology is a big trend all over the web. People now a days choose to shop their gadgets online, they can share their experience and reviews through our site.
Thanks for helping us out in spreading the word to promote our site. We really appreciate it. I love the idea and will do the same as you suggested
We'll keep you posted for any development we have based on the feedbacks we are getting. Looking forward on meeting you our site.

Once the site is on beta you can view more information but for the meantime we are getting feedbacks to improve before we officially launch it. We also have a video you can watch for the overview of the site. We'll keep you posted once the site is on beta.

[CLOSED][REQ] In need of dev device

***UPDATE (8/25/11): This donation thread/link is now to help get the device for DJRBliss. If he is able to achieve root, he plans on keeping the device, so no funds will be returned. However, he has agreed to resell, and return money based on the percentage of the original donation- IF someone else achieves root in an unrelated effort.
Please donate with the expectation to NOT get any money back, and get ROOT instead! Again, nothing can be promised!
www.KrazyKrivda.com - Donate link and our root attempts.***
I am starting to consider taking a few extra risks and try to get this phone rooted, but since I need a reliable device for work Im considering an extra phone to work on.
I may pu up a link and ask for a "temporary donation." I would use the money to purchase a new phone to work with. Once the phone is rooted, whether by me or someone else, I will resell the device on ebay, or through the community and return money to those who originally donated.
I will only be able to return money based on percentage. Ex. If you donate 100 for a 500 device (20%), and I resell device for only 300, you will only get 60 back. *I do not ask that anyone give 100, just as a for example.*
I think it best to do it this way because I cannot promise that your donation or contribution will lead to me rooting the D3.
Feedback welcome.
-KrazyKrivda
A sidenote - #KrazyK irc is now registered, and I advise anyone with knowhow, decent ideas, and the ability to assist the droid 3 root cause to join and discuss. Please, do not join merely for updates, general gossip and such, as they will still be posted in the threads here. I would like to keep the discussion as on topic and on task as possible to expedite the possibility of root.

I would be willing to throw some money in on this. I've also seen several people on droidforums that would probably donate also. A lot of people want root really really bad (me included).
How and where to donate?

I will wait a few days to see if it is worth asking for donations. I'm more than willing to throw some of my own $$ in. Hopefully we get root in a few days and this is unnecessary.
If not, and we have positive response for this, I will post a link midweek.
**NOTE: I still am in NO way guaranteeing I can root this device. Just hoping to improve the chances.
According to your post history, you seem to know your stuff, and I'd be glad to throw a couple bills your way, but have you contributed to the rooting of any other devices? Please forgive my ignorance on the matter.

I have rooted other devices however I am in no way responsible for the method of rooting them. In terms of contribution to the android community thus far I have worked on and created a few themes, as well as some small modifications to the cm source code when I was using my original droid.
I openly admit I am not as skilled as many other developers out there however I am probably 1 of the most persistent 1s and tend not be able to drop something until what I want is accomplished. Feel free to ask anyone in the irc/forums.. I know I tend to get annoying ;-).

Well krazykrivda I commend you and sincerely hope you get this phone rooted. And im sure some other devs could help if you ask enough. Lol I hope you get this donate link up. Every one is willing to support you it doesn't matter if you succeed or not as long as you have the same want we do.

Well, I can contribute $200, because root for this device is very important to me. If the value of the phone goes beyond where it is right now due to the phone being rooted, you could totally keep the difference. However, if it gets bricked, well... it gets bricked. I understand that that's a possibility.
Out of curiosity... have you ever bricked a phone before?

Ha, no I have not, but I've always had recovery or an sbf in worst case scenarios.
To truly brick a phone is quite difficult, and once an sbf, root, or other means are out... chances are most "bricked" devices would be fully recoverable.
And assuming I do get a test phone.. I will keep it in box as long as possible, taking chances on current device. This way I may be able to return/or sell NIB decreasing chances of losing value.
This is not for me to make $$ off of... now if I do achieve root I doubt I would turn down monetary thank yous? ;-) *wishful thinking*

I can vouch for Krazy, not that it means much coming from me. But he knows what hes talking about and is the only guy ive seen actually actively trying to root this for everybody. Ive also used many of his themes on my droid . Good stuff.
rent is paid for this month so count me in with at least a $100.00 may be $200.00 if needed
I have an dev Atrix, and I can tell you a dev Droid 3 is most likely not going to help. What will work on the dev phone won't work on a retail phone. It mostly comes down to the boot process, and the signatures used to control things.
I can't say it is useless, but it will only really be useful in someone with deep knowledge of the ARM architecture, and who can disassemble code. Even then they would have to get pretty lucky.
Overall, only expect it to help after you have phone the right person, or group of people who can really dig deep, and are willing to put the time into it.
Edgan:
I am not looking into getting an actual unlocked dev phone, but a phone for me to test/develop on.
I do agree that the more that work on this, and the deeper we dig the greater are chances. I have heard good things about you and hope you can assist.
If I find someone that I feel will have better luck than me, and equal motivation.. AND willingness to the same terms I set fourth (temporary donation, and returning funds once root is achieved based on phones resale) I'd be delighted to pass this potential extra D3 into their hands (assuming the donators agree as well).
ALL:
This is a 0 profit venture for me, and a way I figure can reduce chance of bad investment for all those who DO donate. As soon as the D3 is rooted, it's resale will begin.
To reiterate, I am NOT the most skilled skilled, and I am not trying to trick anyone into give me ther money. I merely have the time, motivation, and dedication that will hopefully lead to this devices root status.

Too bad this isn't the X2 we are talking about. I am currently setting up my spare X2 as a gaming \ entertainment device for the household (meaning 2 year old and 1 year old). Seems like a waste of a "new" phone.
If I get a spare D3 than I would be more than happy to donate.

I would be willing to send my D3 to a developer for vivisection IF (!!!) I was guaranteed that he/she could make the potential brick look good for Asurion.
PM me if you want to make preliminary arrangements.

I just sent $400 with WePay to get KrazyKrivda a D3. I found one on eBay for 379.99. The goal on the WePay site is $500.
$100 to go people! Come on, let's make it happen

+1 for me and another +1 for my cousin who's not in xda
Really pointless thread. If you've followed any of the other AOSP request threads, you'll know that it's a very complicated and involved task. Amassing "+1" posts isn't going to motivate anyone more to take on such a task.
On a more personal note, I don't know why someone would buy a device like the Note 8 just to strip it of all of its features. Personally, I bought my device because of all the features Samsung has put on it. I wouldn't put AOSP on this, likely even if someone paid me, because it would defeat the purpose of having this device in the first place.

We all have different opinions and preferences, so I think we all belong here. Of course support for devs is always welcome, but a +1 thread may not be the most effective way to go about getting what you want...They can already see the view count on aosp-related threads after all. Maybe try reaching out directly instead.

Well, devs, I think, try to develop roms to attain a better experience, adding some features, taking out some not very popular ones, in general to make the overall performance better, as Max Terrible here stated, buying a note series device to strip it down of ALL the features that make it what it is, in my opinion, is pointless, to that effect, you should get a pixel device, clean pure android out of the box

Do explain to me how having a thread full of people posting +1 to try and convince a dev to make an AOSP ROM, is considered supporting the dev?
I definitely support the devs and the great work they do on here, but recruiting a mob to basically create a petition for someone to do something you want, is not what I define as support.
I assure you, any and all devs working on the Note 8 are aware of the very, very small group of people that want an AOSP ROM.

There would be lot of people who dont upgrade mobile regularly (may be 6 months) some upgrade after 2 years. And u might be knowing samsung way of updates so aosp rom etc is very help to have a taste of latest updates. I know only note special things wont be working but many extra things u will get in these roms. Till now we are not able to use gcams! This shows development for this rom. Intent of this thread was to see popularity of this device and let dev see the demand:laugh:

Want to have your SIM-locked device unlocked?

You came here, and I immediately disappoint you because I'm personally unable to assist you in this task. I sincerely apologise for that. But you'll find other members here who are glad to be able to assits you in getting your SIM-locked device unlocked FOR FREE!
That brings me to my two requests, recommendations, suggestions or how you want to call it; however, it all depends on YOUR personal choice:
To SIM-unlock your device will make it necessary that you provide personal information like your last name or your phone number. Please do NEVER post these data publicly in a thread! If you decide to want this kind of support, please provide this information ONLY BY PERSONAL MESSAGES (PM)!
Those reputable XDA members who live the spirit of XDA do offer their service and support for free and will never ask you for a donation during any step of the process. Although, if you satisfied with the final result you're certainly free to donate whatever you believe is desired.
If any member asks you to donate etc. before the support is provided, please use the report function that is also available for PM's and report such a request immediately without a further reply or reaction to the PM. Same applies to any suspicious post in a thread.
Thanks very much for listening - and we hope that you got your devices soon unlocked without any problems.
Hello, I'm a little unsure of how to go about this. Do I just comment and wait for a PM or should I be the one sending a PM?

Friends

I have used and enjoyed Android devices for many years. I would like to join in. I have some interesting results from tests. A friend suggested that this is the way I should go. If you will accept me as part of something we can build together. I would be happy and grateful.
I used this site since around 2012. My Lenovo K1 Tablet. I have had many accounts stolen from me. Not an xda issue. Something else. I am asking if the community would like to work with me.
