I was facing the same issue. Took it to the service centre. The guy there opened it in 2 seconds. Told me to really push the pin in. It will get smoother after a couple of times.

Did you get it sorted? Im having the same problem, came out ok the first time with sim only, then inserted a new sim and an sd card and now can't open it, I think the SD is holding it back, both were inserted properly as it recognised the SD

Ok, I managed to get it out with the tool but the amount of pressure needed was ridiculous, I had to push it against a table, I can't believe it didn't bend it, i think it was the notch on the sd card that is there to help you to pull it out in other instances, it must have been caught inside.
It goes in and out no problem without the SD card in.
Im happy with the phone other than that.

Was about to get nervous.
That notch on the Samsung SD-cards makes it just a little too large. With enough force the tray opens up just fine.

[Q] I'm getting a "SIM Card not inserted" notification after 4.3 update.

Is anyone else experiencing this? As far as I can tell there's nothing wrong with the SIM card, voice/data/text still work fine even with the notification present. The notification only goes away when I reboot the phone.

The SIM card error is said to be a problem with the SIM tray people usually just remove it and put it back in, u might also want to check the SIM card for any noticeable scratches of some sorta if your worried. As far as the usefulness of the SIM card its just for LTE so if your not in a LTE area now or anytime soon you should be good for now but if ur in a area and want to use LTE you might want to check your SIM card. Its removable like any other phone its located on the top left of the device and removing doesn't affect your voice/text however the data might be but thats only if your trying to get on LTE it should work perfectly on 3g
How do I remove it? I know where the slot is, but it looks pretty flush with the rest of the phone.

there's a little hole right beside the slot push a paper clip or somrthing in the hole to release card
I get the same No SIM Card error message too. Reboots and removing/reinserting makes it go away for awhile, but it keeps coming back. It will usually come back within a day.
I know it's a software bug because not only did it never happen before installing a 4.3 Rom, but everything still works (3G, LTE, SMS/MMS, calls etc.) when the No SIM notification is present.
Edit: Attached some screenshots. First is an in-progress Speedtest using 4G LTE, the other is my LTE IP address... both showing the SIM Card error notification.

I got this too but I just rebooted my phone and it went away. It's been gone for about 12 hours so hopefully it stays gone. But the weird thing is that I actually still got LTE when I had the notification that the SIM wasn't instered so it's not that big of a deal. Just reboot and see what happens. Also, my One didn't come with a SIM removal tool (Idk why) so I just used a little needle. I couldn't get the tray to open but after I stuck the needle in, it went away. If it comes back, I'll just go to Sprint and have them open it

Top side. That error pops up because the card is loose. Putting some tape adds just the right amount of thickness to keep it secure.

I started getting this error after the 4.3 update also when I never received it before either. Sounds like a software glitch to me.

MicroSImCard doesnt Fit, help plz!

Hey,
just got my Z1 yesterday, everything runs fine. Expect I cant fit the Micro Sim Card into the Slot -,-. WTF. I tried it several times and it's always stuck and i cant close the cover of the Micro Sim Card Slot. I got a delicate dissecting forceps with which I can pull it out again, but seriously, if it doesnt work im going to get the Samsung S4 Active.
EDIT: OFC Im using the MicroSim "Adapter" which is integrated in the MicroSIM slot!
Never had such problems with any phone yet...
Any advice/ experience?
Thx in advance,
TCIG
Are you trying to put it in the sd card slot?
The sim card slot is on the opposite side to the charger slot.
I also found it has to go in just one way and it goes in easily. If you have to force it, turn it round or turn it over
Its all there in the instruction booklet you got with the phone

Thx for ur answer. Im not trying to put it in te sd card slot. Micro Sim Slot it right upper the Power Button. Unfortunately the instruction booklet doesnt help me, because im following the instructions just like displayed.
Thx Anyway, maybe its just problem of the phone as it doesnt slides in easily...
Heading for an S4 active, because I think it fits my hands better, still its more fragile...
Okkk, the fool speaks again: I rly got it to put it in the wrong way! The thick end of the SIM card adapter should be head to the top of the phone. I always put it in to the bottom of the phone -,-.
Thank u gregbradly, u rly helped me .
So typical for me...

[Q] Help: Sim card/tray will not stay put.

I have an annoying problem with my One that I really hope someone can help me fix:
After taking out my sim card, I cannot put it back in and make it stay put. I put the sim card in the tray, put the tray in the slot, but it is like the spring/mechanism that pushes the tray out (when pushing a pin in the tray openerhole) got stuck, and I cannot make the tray stay put. Hence I have to keep the tray/sim card in place with a piece of gaffa tape... And that doesn't even work well, as - appart from looking silly - the spring/mechanism pushes the tray harder than the tape can hold after a few days.
I searched a lot for a solution to this problem, but it doesn't seem to be normal.
Anybody? Please.

Sorry, I don't know of a fix. It sounds like your lock mechanism is broken which is a hardware fix.
Maybe, you can find a case that forms around the phone and it would or should hold the card tray in place.
Call HTC Service Center to see if they have a solution.

Thanks. I'll look for a case. Though the phone is big enough as it is. I'll ask at my local HTC-shop as well.

as a temp solution you could just use a small piece of clear tape

No Sim Card - Emergency Calls Only Error on Verizon

Mostly just browse these forums, and as you can see, don't post often.
Since about 2 weeks after I got my Nexus 6 directly from Motorola, I've been having intermittent issues with my sim card. It varies wildly in time frame. Longest I've gone without the message popping up, and losing connectivity is about a week and a half. I shut the device down, restart, and it's back. Sometimes it happens as frequently as within the same 5 minutes. As you can guess, I'm highly irritated.
First, I called Verizon and they were nice enough to send out a new nano sim. Popped it in an adapter, activated in Galaxy S3, and into the Nexus. Didn't solve anything, but at least I can rule out a faulty sim card.
Second, called Motorola to ask for a replacement. 5 business days later I call to ask where my phone is and I'm told that they don't have any "like-new" stock and that they don't know when they will. I ask for a refund to buy another phone and they say it will be 4-6 weeks.
Can someone smarter than I tell me if this is for sure a hardware issue? I'm guessing it is, and that it's specific to my device since I literally can't find anything on the web/forums about others having this issue with the N6.
Help is much appreciated, thanks.
Check your apn settings
provide more info, are you stock, custom rom, unlocked, etc.
You may need to try a nuke and repave to start fresh. After a week, something happened to my SIM on a custom rom and the fix is to nuke and repave and that includes userdata.
so back stuff up but only restore what you seriously cant redo, thats working so far for me.
GL
Can you advise what to check in APN's? (Sorry for the dumb question)
I was rooted running stock rom for a week, but unrooted and factory reset when I thought I was returning it to Motorola. Has had issues both ways.
Try hitting the contacts on the sim card with a pencil eraser.

nexus 5 doesnt work on verizon(not fully at least). the op said that he ordered a replacement, which sounds like you should do, as the nexus 5 did have an issue with coming with a bad sim card holder on occasion.

worst part is that it is happening on an Replacement device after i RMAd my first nexus for a power button problem !!
i hope its software related and can be fixed .. because google is now refusing to rma this as im now out of my warranty period !
just to be clear im not on verizon .. im on a gsm carrier and have tried 4-5 different working sims
it latches on to network and works fine for a few hours and then just drops and refuses to catch networ k...
any other ideas ??
can the bad sim card holder be fixed or repaired ??
Did this ever get figured out for any of you? I have the same issue on a Nexus 6. It won't read my AT&T SIM card at all anymore, but knows it's in there. When I put in a Verizon SIM card, it see the card and updates information in the status section, but still says No Sim Card at top of screen. I am currently in the middle of getting a replacement from Motorola, but now I am worried this will happen on my next one too.

This just happen to me as well, google knows nothing about it, neither does motorola , they are sending me a replacement hopefully that fixes the issue.
I just got out of the shower and suddenly had the "no sim card" message. Restarted the phone, still nothing.
Removed the sim card. Put it back in... Now I have data again. Wtf?
I just noticed this running chroma. It always happened on boot and always went away. Never seen it stock unlocked rooted and tweaked with things like the Motorola command center, tethering, and such.
I have just got a N6 today and mine seems to be doing this. Have you guys had yours replaced?
Eager to know if i need to send it back or if its software. The sim card works fine in my s5.
EDIT: it looks like I can make it do it. If i type really quick , the vibrations/haptic feedback must make it have a poor contact and it disconnects.

I am curious, have you guys figured out this issue? I just got a new Nexus 6 that does this intermittently. The phone can read the card, but then every once ina while (about three times a day) it says 'no sim card - emergency calls only'.
I've noticed that banging mine against a hard surface (I do have a case on) seems to fix it for me, as horrible as it sounds... Mine does not fix itself after a reboot.
That said, it hasn't happened to me since I've had marshmallow on here.
In short. I have no idea what's going on.

I have had my replacement Nexus 6 for about 9 months and have not had this issue occur on the replacement unit. I'd highly suggest sending it in for replacement if you are still under warranty.

Push the SIM tray in really hard!

OK first off I had the same issue. intermittent no sim detected. go worse and worse, until did not detect at all...
First I placed a piece of this card stock behind sim and jammed it into the slot. that worked for a bit and the again it started with the same issue.
and became a pain again...
(FYI, I am an electrician by trade)
What I has appeared to fixed it permanently (so far anyway).
All electrical contacts get a corrosion (a patina layer) some more than others from humidity, sweat, dissimilar metal touching, or just cheap metal..
On a hunch I gooped up the sim contact surface with a de-ox compound (De-oxidation) and worked the sim in and out a few time to "clean the contacts (you could use a small long skinny piece of paper board to to it also (I didn't think of it until after) and insert the Sim. So far it has done the trick.
the is many de-ox compound available (home depot or electrical supply)so are blacking and gritty. what I used was ilsco Non- grit De-ox Compound".
I hope this helps as this seem to be a pretty common issue.
As always, Your actual mileage may vary.

It seems the tray mechanism is faulty.
It has been returned for a replacement.
Fingers crossed it's okay this time
All ok here, but you shouldn't have had one too many the night before
