strange rebrand clt-l09 to clt-29 c432 - Huawei P20 Pro Questions & Answers

i make rebrand to my p20 pro clt-09 to clt-29 c432 but after install i have new strange version !! its clt-l29 chipset-boston 8.1.0.001 ( 01FL) !! so what is this

Have you copied and edited oeminfo.bin via adb?

i also got the same problem. also my phone is unrecognized from PC......if i want to transfer file to pc i need to rebbot into twrp, then PC will recognize my phone again...dont know if this problem is related
is there any way to solve this..i already flash vendor.img using fastboot but cannot flash verlist.img (if the build number is in verlist.img)
i read the forum say that flash version.img will correct this problem....but in our FW there is no version.img

https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=76473957&postcount=1
Follow the steps for rebranding (especially part with oeminfo).
If you have root access You can also download oeminfo from link directly to your phone and follow edit commands for edit via some terminal app directly on phone since you don't have adb connection.

I also got this strange build name after I tried to rebrand my P20 Pro from CLT-L09 8.0.0.110(C782) to CLT-L29(C432) using FunkyHuawei
I'm not sure what are the implications. Which region is 01FL? It seems to be stuck on the very first version (8.1.0.001) and no update is available
What should I do?

I have same problem after rebranding Clt-L04 to Clt-l29, I have chipset-boston 8.1.0.001 (0193), I want to know what 0193 ?, is that we can do update

Ok I think I can help because I reversed this issue like 5 minutes ago. Take note, my device is a CLT-L09. I flashed a file for the CLT-L29 instead and caused myself problems.
You need the huawei firmware finder app
Once you have that app installed, put in your model number and download the files for your model. You need the public, hw and update.zip files (You will see those words in the 3 files, I believe in you, you can do this)
Flash these files with HurUpdater. See here and follow instructions: https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-9/development/tool-flash-official-firmware-recovery-t3769279
If you did this right you should see the correct model and software info in About Phone
Let me know if this wasn't clear enough

So I'm also getting the chipset-boston model problem, can anyone elborate a bit more on how to fix this? I've gone thru the steps 3 times and no change. Any further software installs fail at 5%. The first one went through no problem.

Can you give any more info so that I can try help? What model is your phone etc? What files did you download and flash?

I solved it by rooting and deleting the oeminfo folder in data/local/tmp directory and then copying the oeminfo file to data/local/tmp. All commands then ran without error.

~ Just wondering,, I have a CLT-L09(C782) Huawei P20 Pro in UK and I did the *# dial and it said my chipset-boston 8.1.001 is this normal.....
I have no root,, not even attempted,, only official software from Huawei OTA updates thats all... I wouldn't root as on contract..

Dload for p8 lite 2017

Someone help me! Please!
Why I can't flash anything with dload method? I have tried lots of things: stock recovery, twrp, erecovery, proxy. But nothing. I tried to use firmware finder too for download an update fullota (of course, all the 3 ZIP package) and tried to put in dload the zips, the update.apps, but won't work. For dload I mean the three buttons method. It gives me always failed, at 5%, with the error "Software Install Failed". Please help me! I tried to toggle signature too to the firmware with huawei firmware extractor but not working. How I can flash firmware (especially firmware founded with firmware finder) using dload method? Please help me and my friends! Thank you to everyone!
These beta build found by firmware Finder might be not enable to be installed on your device. Use the latest check with EMEI to know if it fits.

I'm sorry didn't get the last part. Can you clarify it please ?
I'm on the same boat as the op. With the firmware finder I can only find PRA-LX1C33B130 but like op said, it stops at 5%. The firmware for my phone is PRA-LX1C33B120, but I can't find it anywhere. Right now my phone is bricked because I really can't find any version to install it.
Update firmware Finder, select the update you want and hit "check......" then it will now ask you for IMEI compatibility check
For me, Ive found more than 10 firmwares, I'm on B110 and there is up to b125... Nevertheless I can't install the proxy add-on, I can't use their "register with dns" feature, and I can't past the 5% threshold on dload flash. It seems to be not working at all for pra-lx1. I'm on stock B110 update (phone came with b100 and the B110 update was a legal ota without any mods).
Did you try to send a mail to huawei support team? Explain that you are a dev and you need to stock rom. They may send you a link share it please!

That option is on android right ? I can't use it, so I was trying with the windows version but it doesn't have any option for checking the firmware (or at least i'm not finding it). ~
Well after you said that there is a option to check the firmware the only one that I found (PRA-LX1C33B130) when I checked the firmware it said that It was not approved to install. I guess that is why it stops at 5% ? maybe ? hopefully the firmware status goes to approved somewhere in the neaaarr future.

I get software Install Failed at 5% using dload ALWAYS! Even with authorized/allowed firmware. I'm thinking that dload on Huawei p8 lite 2017 is not working at all.

[Solved] Firmware download for NMO-L31(C432) : Honor 5C with DualSim and fingerprint

Hi all,
I got a Huawei GT3 (model number NMO-L31) which was running a demo retail firmware (CUST C652). Usual dloab update methods didn't work - presumably because of mismatching CUST. So I downloaded a couple of firmware files NMO-L31C432B130 via Firmware Finder and flashed them using fastboot (hence, I have already unlocked the bootloader). All good, system starts up but all the files I downloaded are not exactly for my device. They seem to be either for the Honor 5C or the P9 lite - I know the devices are basically identical but it is annoying to have wrong splashscreen and missing features (such as the fingerprint sensor).
Does anyone have a ROM which is really designed for the GT3 (Honor 5C/P9 lite with DualSim AND fingerprint sensor)? Tried flashing for instance the one from here (xxx.carbontesla.com/2017/05/download-huawei-gt3-b355-nougat-update-europe-beta Replace the "xxx" with "www") but the TWRP flashes fail - there are couple of errors with respect to mounting /data and also some parts of the script. According to a few other threads it shouldn't actually be possible to use TWRP for this stuff... Dload method for this update also fails (presumably because my device currently believes it is a hi6250 instead of the NMO-L31).
EDIT:
I was able to mainly solve all issues by using the firmware downloads from here: xxx.getdroidtips.com/b350-nougat-firmware-huawei-gt3-nmo-l31/ (Replace the "xxx" with "www"), extracting BOOT, CUST, VERSION, VENDOR, SYSTEM and PRODUCT from them using the Huawei Extractor and flashing the files in the same manner as outlined in this thread here: xxx/p9-plus/how-to/easy-upgrade-to-unapproved-emui-5-update-t3649532 (Replace "xxx" with "https://forum.xda-developers.com")
Please mark this as solved. Update the title bro
Agree with shashank. Add [solved] to thw thread title.

Need to return P9 back to L09C432B504 from c900b300

Hello everyone !
I had a battery drain issue so I wanted to try and change the software before resorting to a battery change, but now my phone is stuck at L09 C900B300 build and it used to be factory L09C432B504. I tried downloading the full package for 501 but the phone does not want to install it as it was "invalid".
Any ideas how I can force the b501 update on the phone ? It's hard to use ADB since the USB-C port on the phone is very worn out and it only maintains data-transfer in a certain position, if it gets shifted even a little bit it breaks the connection.
Thanks in advance !

You did a rollback and you cannot instal Nougat directly back
You must install c432b182 Marshmallow and then let it update by OTAs (with SIM card) to b50x
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=73131443&postcount=321
Steps 4-9 apply to you (since you are already on c900b300)
---
Don't know what does it mean to you that you changed the software
If you rebranded from c432 to another cust, then you must also rebrand back to c432 by flashing its OEMINFO:

NOTE: Just saw you previously asked questions about P9 Lite
Pls be aware, this is Huawei P9 subforum, not for P9 Lite (different hardware, different firmwares)
The answer above with links/guides applies to P9, not to P9 Lite
If your question was for P9 Lite, please better search and ask on XDA P9 Lite subforum
Hey !
Thanks for your reply.
I have tried to follow the steps but I need to have the bootloader unlocked and it is discontinued by huawei, and in order to get the code from DC unlocker I need to invest a certain amount of money (id rather hand the phone over to a professional service and pay them and know that I have a fixed phone).
The other issue of the phone is that I cannot open the manufacturer mode on the phone using *#*#2846579#*#* since it does nothing, and I cannot use the calculator since this software does not have a calculator, it doesn't even have a camera app....
So I have contacted huawei support in hopes of getting the bootloader code but I do not hope for too much at this point. What are my other options at this point of handling this on my own ?
Looking forward to your response !

AFAIK, 'certain amount of money' for Bootloader code from DC Unlocker is only 4 Euros
If you search on XDA (various phones, just about Bootloader unlocking) you may find more online services (several months ago I've seen in some post), but they were more expensive
IMO, you don't need unlocked Bootloader if you are just following the first link, for dload-ing c432b182 without flashing oeminfo....
Update:
Okay the b182 package does not require unlocked bootloader which is great, it took the update and started going up all the way to b395 but it stopped there, no further OTA updates... It is okay to use at this point but I'm still curious to know if there is a way to get to it to update to the b50x version. I did try to use the small update for the b501 but the phone declined it.
Still thank you very much for guiding me through this ! This is a huge weight off my shoulders !

In Firmware Finder they have a new method based on eRecovery and changing the DNS server on your local WLAN AP
b50x must be showing as Approved to you for that method
It does not require Bootloader unlocked but no guarantee it would work (I tried with P9 rebranded to AL10 Oreo, managed to change DNS server address, eRecovery connected to but failed to update firmware that way)
There HWOTA method (in few variants) to install FullOTA-MF from Firmware Finder, but unlocked Bootloader is required
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=75787156&postcount=3
Btw, if you ever unlocked Bootloader on that phone, just use the same code again (one must save always save the code for future needs)
As of recently there are some Huawei service firmware installations available, that also install by dload (not needed to have Bootloader unlocked)

When you download, you will need to unzip
Find Docs and Software subfolders (you may need to untar and unzip Software subfolder again)
In Docs folder there must be Huawei official guide how to install, check if it describes dload method (and what must be un-archived and copied to SD card dload folder from the Software subfloder)
I didn't use it for L09c432 but I successfully unbricked a P9 rebranded to AL10c00 (back to AL10c00 firmware) by such a package, really easy by dload, just by following their HowTo doc from the Docs subfolder

need help obtaining a specific cust file (C34E11) Optus Australia

Hello everyone, I'm hoping someone here can help me.
I did a manual forced update as described by the usb method.
however my cust changed from C34E11 (Optus AU) to C432 (Europe)
I have been able to obtain a C34E10 cust (also Optus AU) and flash it successfully.
however I still get CTS profile mismatch errors which I'm assuming is due to the incorrect CUST installed on the phone.
I cannot for the life of me find the file which I assume might fix my profile mismatch errors.
I was wondering if anyone here successfully made a backup of an ota update which contains a file called either
update_full_cust_LYA-L09_optus_au.zip
or maybe even
update_sd_cust_LYA-L09_optus_au.zip
unlike the EU version which is < 1mb, the AU C34E10 version is ~ 60mb
it would be much appreciated since I cannot for the life of me find the one for C34E11
also note in trying the hstool method results in my phone flashing the C432 cust again.
has my phone permanently been tricked into thinking that the actual cust file is C432 and not C34E11
thanks in advance
also on a side note, if anyone needs the C34E10 cust file, I can try to upload it somewhere however be careful with it cause you might just end up with the same issue I'm having.
You can try these but I think that they are old .122 I think. (From Another member)
https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=1-I4AqRuDVJtC1swv1XQyysBfqPIsoi_G
thanks, will try them
ok so they're both from the c34e10 firmware.
i know there's a c34e11 somewhere but oh well.
annoyed that I didn't get this replacement phone prior to huawei removing the option to unlock the bootloader.
*edit* actually scrap that, it looks like the unlocking service is actually working again.

You mean eva-l19C6005B135 (c605), not eva-l19C6005B135 (c6005)?
Anyway, this is old Android 6 / EMUI 4, why don't you upgrade to Android 7?
If you have valid SIM card and WiFi, no OTA for update coming?
Check under Settings / System Updates.
You can also check from HiSuite if it offers you a newer version to install
Also, switch off, connect to charger, press and keep Vol+, switch on by Pow, and check from eRecovery: Download and install latest firmware and recovery, what it offers to install
You can also try to install by DLOAD, L19 c605 eg b394 - for DLOAD it must be FullOTA, MF-PV (must be PV), package number #109400, as on screenshot from Firmware Finder

thanks for the help buddy, i will update the post later with the results
PD: can i download this rom from another site or this is the only one? it always fails at 60-70% and it is really slow, 3mb download, i have 30mb

the same error... "Incompatibility with current version. Please download the correct update package" with the version that you said, i dont know what to do now
here are the steps that i did:
1-downloaded update.zip (just this file)
1.1 unzip it
2-put it on sd(dload folder)
3-enter download mode and try to install it
do i need to download the other files?
do i need to format my sd again? because it have some other files in it, but with the ota b135 it jus install it fine over and over again

Sorry, don't know the situation with c605 ROMs.
IMO, you should try to flash FullOTA-MF-PV but the MM buiild, but I cannot find by Firmware Finder any MM PV build for your c605 cust (hence I also don't know how did you flash that D007 at the first place?!)
You could also rebrand to eg c432, there are many more stock firmwares for c432 - but for rebranding you will first need to unlock Bootloader
PS: For DLOAD, you must download and put to the DLOAD folder all update* files you find for the given build, not just the first update.zip file- if you didn't do so, that was maybe the reason for your issues with WiFi

how can i unlock the BL? the only method that i think will work is send an email to huawei as a request for the code :/ or paying 20$ for chimera software and unlock it(i don't know if it will work anyway)
but for now im going to download all the files again for a second try and yes, im sure that's why my wifi if failing, i downloaded a ota (not full ota) with a different D007 (mine is D002) because there is not any MM rom for c605 just that one from firmware finder rewrite (desktop version)

Please check older threads under the same P9 Q/A subforum (and/or in the Guides subforum) where you opened your own thread - every week or so somebody asks the same questions about codes for Bootloader (just curious why nobody wants first to invest his own time to search for the answers
Not specific for P9 but same for the other Huawei/Mate models (excluding the newest models released alreadyvwith Pie)
Hint: DC Unlocker or Ministry of solutions, price is not 20 but 4 or 5 Euros

All three update*.zip files must not be unzipped, just copy them as zip files to DLOAD folder, do not create any subfolders
Do not use L09 file, just update.zip and two others with L19 and public in the name - see screenshot
Dlete DLOAD and create again, to make sure something hidden did not remain
And for Bootloader codes you have:

Of course that flashing another cust without rebranding first, bricks the phone.
I just wonder how you know now that, why you didn't take time to read or ask about in advance (and I think, in previous answers I was also writing you about)
