[Official] [MIX2] [semi-Dead] MIUI 10 Global Beta 9.3.21 and Global Stable V10.2.2.0 - Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 Guides, News, & Discussion

MY SUPPORT FOR THIS THREAD HAS ENDED AS I'M GOING TO BUY A NEW PHONE SOON. I WILL STILL TRY TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTIONS IF YOU HAVE ANY, BUT I WON'T ACTIVELY UPDATE THE LINKS ANYMORE. I MIGHT NOT BE ABLE TO HELP YOU THOUGH, AS MY MIX 2 IS DEAD. IF YOU WANT TO OR HAVE THE LINKS, YOU ARE WELCOME TO POST THEM HERE TO HELP OTHER PEOPLE SEARCHING FOR THEM. I LOVE MIUI FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART AND WILL FOR SURE MISS IT.
Pie coming soon! (at least I hope so lol)
Keep hoping I guess! Xiaomi's slow update policy pissed me off so much I bought a Oneplus 6 even though i love MIUI lol.

Yes the recovery file is for TWRP, but you need an unlocked bootloader for both.

It's not for twrp it's for factory recovery. I tried it and it keeps returning me to twrp. When i flash from here https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-mix-2/how-to/mi-mix2-global8-6-14-miui-10-v1-t3804471 it loads normally and i unpacked both of them and they are not similar in structure.

That one is modded I think. To flash official stock rom using TWRP, you shall flash lazyflasher after the rom flash to avoid bootloop.

me too, it's known bug

Does fastboot method relock the bootloader?

Weird. TWRP method has me stuck on the initial bootloader image.
Edit: fixed after going into recovery again, wiping and not installing the no verity script

Also to you the ROM is so slow to download from bigota server that I'll take 6-8hr?!
Is the third time I kill the download and decide to download in other times
PS: downloading from gigabit fiber line

Yes I can change it. If you have problems with this google "miui region fix", download the zip and flash it in TWRP.

EDIT 17.02.2019 : A2017 V3.0.0B23 FULL EDL PACKAGE thnx @[B]djkuz[/B]
PROCEDURE :
0. First make a twrp backup of your existing rom and of your intSD (YOU WILL LOOSE ALL DATA)- DON'T FORGET
00. having proper knowledge of reverting and restoring old backups and so on...i'll not go into detail..
1. ok, download and install the EDL Tool thnx @djkuz
2. download newest twrp3.2.1-6 (@NFound), rename to recovery.img and put it into the folder of the edl tool under : flash/recovery/
3. download FULL V3.0.0B10 package or following packages, unzip it and put all the files under : backup/full/ (that's the way it worked for me)
3.1 wipe data/system/cache/dalvik
4. turn off your device and make sure it doesn't connect to pc via usb cable
5. plug your device to pc by pressing volume keys at the same time
6. your phone should enter EDL mode
7. make sure you see to device as "Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008"
8. run the bat-file from the tool as administrator
9. choose 3. restore and 2. full edl
10. let it run.....
11. when done, choose not to reboot because you want to flash the proper recovery (if not already installed).
12. so choose 1. flash and 3. recovery
13. reboot
14. done
15. after booted you can flash your proper G or U modem from : https://forum.xda-developers.com/axon-7/development/anroid-8-official-mifavaor-ui-5-2-beta-t3707605
EDIT : CN modem is included in the EDL
Btw, I installed this version of play store to test. All working ok. (you might try the latest - didn't test that)

Thnx ! I saw that this morning too.
Can we use the 3.1.2.7 too for this one ? NICE !
Question though, in advanced/more/ i saw there are still some Russian buttons in there. Can you translate them to English or do these functions relate to music... ?

3.2.1-7 Only for MM/NG and Oreo 8.1.0 based on B32. He does not know how to decrypt a section /data. Similarly, based on the reviews for the latest version of the Magisk 16.0 on the stock (reviews from users @4pda ) does not work correctly, but on 8.1.0 it's great.

This is correct, but neither should a ROM be posted in the Themes, Apps and Mods section, so I'm going to move it to How-To for now.
If you would like your ROM moved to the Development section, it must meet the requirements stated in the sticky titled "Device Forum Rules (Please Read before posting)". In particular, the OP must contain a link to all relevant sources as described in post #2. Once your OP is properly updated, send me a PM and it can be moved.
Thank you.

If the answer is YES, you have to insert this step in your installtion step manual and insist that the OB5 framework and MODEM needs to be flashed even though clean install is opted.

Users may be coming from other ROM.
Example: I am on crDroid. If I come to your Beta version, I assume that I have to do clean install. I have to follow the steps as below,
1. Clean wipe everything (via TWRP => data format, wipe dalvik/chache, system and data)
2. Flash the OB5 firmware/MODEM (your 59mb file)
3. Flash ROM
4. Flash GAPPS
5. Flash NoVerity (opyional) only if want to have device decrypted
Your instruction can be slightly tweaked in two parts.
(1) for users coming from official Oreo 8.0, and
(2) for users coming from other custom ROMs (like I expained above)
Am i correct in my assumptions.

Feeling with it
I am reluctant to try this ROM until moderator brings this topic to ONEPLUS 5 ROMS, KERNELS, RECOVERIES, & OTHER DEVELOPMENT.
It will give some comfort that the ROM has the sources verified. Thanks.

It is "Xiaomi Redmi 6A Guides, News, & Discussion" topic : so what's the big deal ?
Beside of that there's a link given few posts before ; and if you google the name of the rom, you'll find their website.
Once you have flashed one or two custom roms, you recognize easily if you need to flash with a recovery or with fastboot commands.

[ROM][G96xF/N][ALEXNDR] * Q Beta6 ZTA9 * DevBase v7.1 * Encryption support [Jan-15]

I'M NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE AND/OR DATA LOSS AS A RESULT OF FLASHING THIS ROM !!!
PLEASE PERFORM FULL BACKUP IN THE MICRO SD CARD OR IN AN EXTERNAL STORAGE BEFORE YOU TRY !!!
Do you need reliability and predictability? Then better stay with THIS ROM
I have decided to create a separate thread because:
- I would like to distinguish Android Q BETA bug reports from my normal (Pie stable) thread, mentioned above
- It is normal that there will be definitely much more "bad reports" here, because most of them will be "beta related"
This thread will be closed when Samsung will release stable Android Q (One UI 2.0)
Everything you will need to know about DevBase ROM in general - you will find in my stable thread (mentioned above)
Differences comparing to stable Oreo DevBase ROM:
- No AppLock (yet)

Dirty flash over my Pie DevBase ROM SHOULD WORK WITHOUT ISSUES but before you try - I would highly recommend you to set default (stock) theme and default (stock) icons !!! However - I would recommend you clean install (Wipe -> Swipe to Factory Reset is enough)
NOTE1: This time it is mandatory to update also bootloader to Q - otherwise ROM will not boot

NOTE2: If you want to perform clean install with encryption - it is highly recommended to use TWRP 3.2.3.0 to format /data. More info about bug with TWRP 3.3.1.x - HERE
Known issues:
- SafetyNet does not pass (it is intended by Samsung in beta builds)
- Please let me know
Thanks to:
- all users mentioned in my main thread
- @henklbr for links to update.zip(s)
- @corsicanu & @ambasadii for tips related to Q beta
Do you want to provide dump (e.g. for G960F or a newer version for G965F)?
Please do as follow:
- Make sure OEM unlock is ON
- Flash TWRP but don't let device boot to system after that - use power+bixby+vol_up combo immediately after phone rebooted automatically
- Tap "Keep read only"
- Wipe -> Format data -> "yes"
- Reboot -> Recovery
- Copy attached zip to the device
- Flash it and wait a few minutes
- Copy /sdcard/G960F_dump directory to the PC and compresss it (zip / 7z / rar / etc..)
- Share me and wait for a new Q build
NOTE: DO NOT use Magisk or other boot patchers before you run my zip - I need PURE clean kernel and other images !!! After you run my zip and copy result to PC - you can do what you want
G960F? ????????
Wow, this is fast. Even though this just a test, I'll try and report soon

First ROM, then BL (one by one). This order is recommended because BL update forces auto reboot
